Filed a claim for my laptop. Was told I would receive a call back in a week or so, no call. I called 3 weeks into the claim and was told it was at the facility to be repaired. 2 months later it was still not returned. I called and they said they would look into it. Received a call the next day that the keyboard was irreparable and would be given credit for the laptop. I guess you have to inquiry about these things yourself or they will never call and continue to charge you, IDK. was asked if I wanted protection on the new laptop and said no. Was continued to be charged for the old laptop's full warranty even though It was deemed irreparable the claim was settled, it was not my property or in my possession anymore. Was told the coverage extended automatically to my new laptop even though they asked and I declined coverage. My account still has my old laptop on it and my receipt for the new one does not include geek squad coverage, the old one did. If I took it into the store I'm sure I would be told I don't have coverage on it. *if you want coverage canceled on a product that should not exist anymore because it was written off you have to do the due diligence yourself and call to have it cancelled* *you also have to call every time you want an update or any action taken for what you pay for* no reimbursement for the coverage of the phantom laptop. I've been told insurance on electronics is greasy but I thought geek squad would be an exception. I was wrong. Save the money and the headache, spending money on electronic insurance will never be a good investment IMO. Geek squad is no different. Go to a repair shop.

Took my laptop in a year ago. Now the hard drive on my laptop seems to have died. But i don't know as i cant diagnose the thing cuz the guys over at Geek Squad took it to do a battery replacement a year ago and well they left me with one unbelievably stripped screw on the bottom and its impossible to gain access to the insides of the laptop to change the harddrive. Overall Geek Squad is very very un reliable and i wouldn't trust them with your computers. As kekathis said they didn't even fix his pc but they broke the power button so he needed to use a screwdriver to turn his computer on.

The stars might change once we finally get our laptop back! Sent our laptop in at the start of the Covid escapade as our teenagers have had to do all school work from home. 6 weeks later after no word from them, find out they ordered the wrong part so it delayed the repair. Come on! How hard is it to give a call to update a customer. Grade 9 and Grade 11 1x laptop for 6 weeks now. This is with a Best Buy business account. Think supporting local smaller businesses might be the answer.

Absolutely Terrible customer service from Geek Squad. Try to file a claim for the insurance coverage of my phone. Info I was given doesn't work online to file a claim. So I call in to get help only to be transferred through every department until finally I am told I have to put a deposit down of double the cost of the phone. Other option to just mail mine in and wait to get it back. Apparently it's beyond their capabilities to just take it into a geek squad location in person as no one their knows how to use a courier service. When I tired of dealing with a rep that just kept repeating the same statement and ask for a manager or supervisor I get told they don't have any and I can wait for a callback 24-48hrs later. The call back came 4 days later and only to have the rep who called me back tell me that I am wrong and the people I spoke to did not say they would call me back 24-48 hrs later. And after it all they still refused to apologize and file my claim and kept stating that I am wrong and was not told I would receive a call back in that time frame. Never use this service they do nothing to help or accommodate what you have been paying for.

I did not find where to add the names of the staff assisting me on my purchase today on the survey ww.bestbuycanadacare.ca But I wanted to mention my appreciation to the staff at Best Buy #13 in park royal for their attention, care and extremely patience with a helpful attitude there were 3 people The first one a gentlemen with glasses at the apple section POSIBLE A MANAGER NO NAME UNFORTUNATLY THE OTHER NOEL AND PARTICULARLY KIAN who kindly and patiently give advice and direct me on what I did not know how to do and his reassuring attitude gave me the full confidence in my shopping and to trust BEST BUY. I will recommend always your staff and service. For the record I did try Apple store in downtown twice and their attitude and evasive respond to my request for help to set up my new ipad pro 11 was VERY NEGATIVE THAT I LEFT and walked directly to BEST BUY hoping to find the assistance I was looking for. Yes I gladly pay a fee to bestbuy for it.

Set myself up with a new laptop and added the monthly coverag by geek squad, I enjoyed interacting with the girl I was on the phone with as she let me take over to save time in communication.... Not many tech services let you take over... Only reason it's not 5 star is I felt like I was in and out fast with no relationship building between me and the company and no follow up to see how things were working to earn the final above expectations score. Aweful rude service from a dark haired guy with personal issues on Sun-13-Dec-2020. I just asked if he could be careful with my wifes phone, I've seen the way some people handle $800 phones and I don't want it shifted around on a hard dirty surface. He sarcastically asked if I wanted to do it myself full of attitude and I should have. We stood there waiting for about 7 minutes too before asking what we wanted, while we watched them gossip like school children through the glassless hole. Trash service.

I was having difficulties obtaining a shipping label from the Geek Squad customer service phone line. I was on the phone multiple times a day trying to resolve the issue. Thankfully when I arrived to 1099 Marcus Drive, Erick from the Geek Squad and the other staff members Erin and Dayton were extremely helpful and understanding with my situation. They solved the issue with in a timely manner and left me with complete customer satisfaction. Thanks again to the individuals that helped me.

Currently waiting for 49 minutes for billing to answer the phone. Finally answered after 53 minutes, for only 2 minutes conversation. I was advised to just visit the store to cancel it because I am still within my 30 day period. Went to Best Buy today to cancel my plan. I used the remote set-up as part of the plan, so basically they will upload software's in your computer, which includes set-up of the bitfender and acronis (if you know how to install software in computer, you can do this). One female staff called a male staff to help for the cancellation. The male staff told us that if we cancel it, we will pay $150 since we use the computer set-up remotely plus any discount we get from our purchase. So once you get the geek squad protection plan on time of the purchase, and used the set up software service and realize that the plan was not worth it. You have no choice but to keep it or they will rip you off.

Took pc in for upgrade told me 2 days, 4 days later i call in asking if its done and im told they messed up 5 drivers and will need another day i said 5 days is too long for an 1 hour service, less than an hour later they call and tell me to pick it up, after i do not all drivers were fixed and the job felt half done had to take it to JBJ and had all problems solved less then a day. Highly recommend anyone else

Do not buy this plan. If you need to use it, they charge you what your phone is worth just so they can ship you a temporary replacement, in my case that's $ 1572.00 , then you still have to pay 200$ for the repair of the screen. Once they've had your phone for as long as they'd like, then you can have your 1500$ back. Terrible service, never again will I buy this terrible plan.

around a year ago i spilled a drink on my laptops keyboard, i sent it to geek squad to get them to ship it out to msi ( the laptops makers) to get the keyboard replaced. months past and im nearing the pickup date, the day comes and i go to pick it up, not only did they never ship it out but it was dropped causing damage. thanks geeksquad i can always trust you with my $2700 gaming laptop :)

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Worst customer service, and worst plan ever. First they have been double dipping payments, for something I cancelled months ago. Then they never moved my old computer off the plan and nor added my new one and I have been paying monthly for a computer that I no longer have BUT not paying for the one I do have, and now they think I owe them for the new computer. Also, when I bought my new computer I asked them to move all of my data off the old laptop on to the new one and they did not do this correctly and then wiped my old laptop clean and lost all of my work files. Then I had to send off the computer for 2 months while they retrieved the old data through a deep dive recovery. They tried to charge me $600 for THEIR mistake, and I said no, they ended up covering. The whole experience has been awful and clearly the staff at Waterloo as NO idea what they are doing. My case has been escalated BUT will take 3-5 business days for someone to even call me back! Once I get it cleared up I will be canceling my membership entirely because I would NEVER trust them to touch my laptop moving forward.

I would leave a negative review if I could. These guys essentially spent 2 weeks trying to 'fix' my imac when it was really just a hardware issue that took Simply Computing a weekend to fix with no stress. Geek squad lied saying it was a malware issue when it was no where close to that at all. They literally lied and claim to be 'computer experts' but spend 2 weeks fiddling their thumbs A. not knowing what to do and B. lying about it. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

An advice when you buy something from best buy and they tell you to add a protection plan with the geek squad. 1- don’t do it. It’s a waste of time and money 2- unqualified team 3- team who does not want to work 4- they make you feel like they are doing you a favor when you are paying their salaries from the extended warranty 5-they always find an excuse not to come 6- if they come they won’t fix 7- and if you decide to fix, then you will pay almost price again. Phoned to ask if anyone in store would be able to assist with the identification as well as installation of hardware upgrades for an at home PC. 1. Call to Geeksquad - Told to speak with Bestbuy online rep. 2. Conversation Online w/ Bestbuy - Told to speak with Geeksquad online rep 3. Conversation with Geeksquad Online Rep - Told that I need to phone best buy. 4. Phoned Bestbuy - Transferred back to Geeksquad. 5. Transferred Call - Told they do not have any answers for me as it is the wrong department. Told I would be transferred to the correct department. Was then transferred back to the initial queue/operator. 6. Pressed 6 for "all other questions relating to Geeksquad" and was sent to the "Warranty" department. This department stated that they could not help and proceeded to transfer me back to the beginning operator. 7. Called Geeksquad yet again, this time asked to speak with a manager (Very frustrated by this point). I tell the manager that I'm looking for help in-store with identifying and installing hardware upgrades. Manager states that she would be happy to set me up with an at home appointment for "Basic PC setup and software installations". At this point I admittedly got fed up and went off on the Manager over the phone. I mean I understand that all the phone operators are minimum wage employees who don't care about customers, but this whole process was an absolute joke.

No point in buying anything here anymore. You get a computer on the phone and can't contact a human from your city store to help. Warranty is full of fine print. Its a giant hassle. They also have 3rd party items which they don't cover or allow you to return to the store if defective. 3 strikes. I'm done.

These guys call and tell me my laptop is ready to be picked up. I arrive and have to wait over half an hour as they are working with another customer and have a 1 customer at a time policy. If you can’t handle more than 1 customer at a time schedule appointments so I don’t have to wait 30 min just to pick up an already paid for laptop. 1st impression was bad.

While my initial face-to-face interactions with geek squad were great, including ways to save money on my laptop repairs, they failed to update me when there were changes to my services, lost a lot of my data, and are completely unavailable by phone even when I filed a complaint to their call centre they called me back when I was unavailability and told me to just come in “if indeed there is a problem”. I had to get my laptop battery replaced and also upgrade to an SSD. The reason I did not just buy a new laptop was because I had some very expensive and now unavailable software running on it. They did not inform me the battery was unavailable and just went ahead with the ssd upgrade and did not let me reconsider. When I got home, while some my files had been transferred over (but oddly disorganized as if someone went through and picked what they thought was important - but still missing key files). Not a single one of my programs was transferred. Not even Microsoft office or the free adobe acrobat reader. It basically was as if I got a brand new computer. They seem pretty useless, taking shortcuts and following internet tutorials or something. I will return since I refuse to pay to have these programs transferred over when that was my initial concern but never again will I be back. The fact that I can’t even talk to them on the phone about the process is ridiculous. I am a student and do not have a car, nor can I be without a computer, nor do I want to come into the store unnecessarily amidst a pandemic.

Bought a Greek squad membership for my father in law so they could help him at home. First problem he had with his harmony remote they tell me $50. Why did I but the Greek squad membership? I have no idea. Never buy a Geek Squad membership, waste of money and reflects poorly on Best Buy as a whole.

had a month long battle with them to get my computer repaired when they quoted me just over a week to do it, hidden fees in small fine print that they never mentioned, after a month they finally told me my computer was not repairable so I finished in the same place I had started. Sent it directly to Asus who used express shipping and had it repaired in under a week and back to me days later.

Not sure if this review should fall under Best Buy, but... Awesome Service Geek Squad! the two guys in Medicine Hat, Alberta, On July 19th 2020, were friendly, knowledgeable. I was having trouble playing some games on my laptop, they knew immediately what games and why it wasn't running optimal. They helped me with an upgrade SSD, showed me how to take apart my laptop, install was just a couple hours, went back later to pick it up and it was sanitized, cleaned and I was very satisfied. One of the best experiences I have ever had with ANY store. I am sure they even did some simple maintenance fixes to make it run better even when I'm not gaming. 10/10!

Horrible to deal with! Phone (pixel 3) was always randomly turning off. I had to return the same phone 3 times before they actually gave me a new phone. The 1st time they sent it back to me stating there was no problem, the 2nd time they stated that they fixed the problem (which they didn't), 3rd time (now I'm really angry) they sent me a new phone. Just another crooked insurance company. I won't be getting geek squad phone protection ever again. I also waited on the phone for over an Hour each time I requested to return the phone.

Geek Squad protection benefits are so hidden ...once you buy the plan your benefits are hidden they wont tell you which software or product you will get 50% off purchase ... Moreover, No phone or online support to assist customer to directly call the store and speak to geek squad agent to ask about the benefits or coverage . I work from home and i study on my laptop. One day i decided to change my laptop HDD to SSD so i went to best buy. I purchased an SSD and paid extra 50$ for installation for it to geek squad. I was told it will be ready by tomorrow and will give you call once its done. So i got a call and i went there to pickup. They hand the laptop to me saying the job is done. I went home and opened my laptop. The laptop body is ruined, they used wrong screws to install parts on my laptop and the screws came out of the body on the screen side and there is a dead pixel on the screen with some scratches now. The track pad wasn't working as it wasn't fitted properly, it almost popped out of the place and made it unclickable. so i went back to best buy and the guys were like we cant do anything, i have to send this laptop to manufacture to replace the body. also, they dead pixel is not our fault. They wanted me to wait for almost 3 weeks so they can fix the issue that they created at first place. i kept my cool and asked for a loaner laptop (i was told NO at first until i talked with the manager) the manager gave me a chromebook , seriously a chromebook? I study cybersecurity and i run virtual machine on my laptop i need a windows or mac based computer to do my study. The manager said i cant do anything about it but give you a chromebook. The manager is really rude and she has no idea what she is doing there. Now i dont have my laptop for 3 weeks, i cant study for 3 weeks, they probably wont fix the dead pixel issue they created. i just hate this company so much now. I mean they dont have value for your time nor they care what can affect you for loosing your stuff (which is not even your fault). I wish i could send this message to higher level to resolve this issue sooner or atleast give me a good laptop to study. i will never buy a single thing from best buy , i just lost faith in you, i am very disappointed. I just want my laptop back with issue fixed. i cant wait for 3 weeks . i didnt have job for last 8 months and i very upset with my life right now. dealing with this company made me more upset. I never cried since last 10 years, i really cried infront of the geek squad staff and they said "we can not do anything" even though they are the one who ruined my laptop. Honestly such a bad experience with this company. My laptop had a cracked screen and I brought it in the same day for repairs. It is a month later and I still have not received my computer back. They took two weeks to give me an update, in which they hadn't even started the repairs. One the phone they let me know that they didn't have the part required to fix it, so I would have to pay double what was quoted if I wanted it fixed. The online tracking has never been kept up to date, the last "update" was given three weeks ago to let me know it was in the facility. I am now paying $400 and it has taken over a month to get this back. I would have rather just bought a new computer all together if I knew this was the service I would receive. Would recommend going somewhere local instead.

Not impressed. Have an older TV I purchased from Best Buy a few years ago in which I spent over $5,000 on. I recently got a white screen. Went in and asked the lady at the counter about it and as soon as she heard a couple years she said they don't repair those. I offered the model number to see if she would at least look and she refused and suggested I must just buy another. Like a moron I took a look. They don't seem to offer a TV as good as the one I want repaired. Bad service, a joke. Second time I've tried using them, first was a laptop they told me to contact the manufacturer.

One guy tried to tell me I would receive a gift card if my phone wasn't able to be repaired...not what anyone would sign up for. Seriously save yourself the 200 a year for their "services" and just get it repaired locally. It just died on me randomly. Okay, these things happen. I've been told by several different employees that it would arrive shortly, told about the gift card from another. I have a feeling it will be several more weeks, basically forcing me to buy a used phone in the meantime. No email notifications about payment received, when my phone was received. No updates about claim status. Told in person in store that they can't help whatsoever and to call or contact online. No one knows anything. As of right now still have not received a new device. Took my pc in because it wouldn't post had them phone around 2 days later asking if i wanted to send it off to someplace more suited to figure out what was wrong, around 3 weeks later i call to ask if they have figured out what is wrong with it and it turns out i would need a $400 motherboard to get it working again (not guaranteed to work though) thats not happening so i ask them to send it back and i pick it up around 4 days later and have my friend come over to as he said he figured out what was wrong after watching a simple video on Youtube, he got here and had the pc working just fine within 20 minutes of him arriving. I was told that it's "almost impossible" to get the photos off my damaged SD card (one of the gold "teeth" was broken, the rest of the card was OK) and that it'd be a charge of $199 to attempt. I'd have to pay that whether they were successful or not. They didn't ask for any pictures or any further info on how it was damaged. It didn't feel right, so I decided to check elsewhere. After contacting SanDisk themselves, they directed me to a company that also does recovery. They said they only charge if they are able to recover the pictures (which IMO how it should be) and would be $150.00, not $199.. They requested a picture and once they saw the damage, had a fairly easy solution to fix it myself and gave me instructions to do so, no charge. So I feel like Geek Squad are just trying to make as much money off you as possible, even if they might not even be able to help you in the end. Definitely left a bad impression.

I have a warranty for a refrigerator with Geek Squad and this is the third time they are sending a technician to fix the issue which has been fixed twice already. I have a two month old and I store mu breast milk in the refrigerator and this is the second time I am throwing away precious breast milk and I noticed the refrigerator is broken again. When I call geek squad for a replacement they shoved their policy that 4th time diagonose of a problem will be needed for a replacement on my face, without even trying to understand the huge issue. All they could say (Agent Will) is I am sorry for the inconvenience as if throwing away precious breastmilk is just an inconvenience.

I've been to geek squad about three or four times on separate occasions to get my laptop or computer fixed, and every time I give it to them, they look at it for about half an hour and offer me the exact same thing everytime. Their $197 package that does a diagnosis for said computer. They clearly don't know what they are doing, as I took my business elsewhere and got it fixed for fraction of the cost, and they new what to do right away. I would not recommend geeksquad, as I said before, they are clearly incompetent.

Got a phone 2 years ago with their coverage plan and my phone had two defects from the factory so I wanted to get it replaced with a new one only a month after receiving the phone. They said over the phone that once I sent my phone in with the package they sent i would receive a new one in two weeks or less, I got MY phone back with a new screen on it because I had dead pixels in the screen and the headphone jack didn't work properly. When I got my phone back I thought it was new and that nothing would be wrong with it, but when I tried to use wired headphones i realized it was the one I had originally sent in because the jack didnt work, like yes it recognized there was something there but it would cut out and be very quiet. I had tired calling them numerous times to get the problem resolved and all I was told is I didn't have an account with them. Obviously I was upset but I worked with it but after it wasn't covered by the manufacturer my account was in their system again but I would have to pay for the repairs. I'm upset about the costermer service because not only did I call multiple times, but when I called to have it replaced I was speaking with a very rude man that hung up on me without saying he wouldn't be helping me anymore it was too time consuming to be dealing with a rude person and rude company when I was told a replacement phone would be sent out after they received the one I had originally. Yes I did check if the serial numbers matched out with the box the phone came in. This company I believe is not all bad but should be more helpful to their consumers that are paying for their services not to the one in Best Buy in Red Deer they were phenomenal but whoever's I spoke with on the phone was terrible.

These people are under qualified. They know nothing about hardware or software. It is a big show(they are the type of geeks who failed high school I wonder if most employees even have a highschool diploma let a lone an electrical engineering or computer science degree). They charge you even if they can not fix the laptop. Was going to calibrate the colour on my new 4K TV using a DIY Blu Ray disk that was $100. Sifting through the mixed reviews, there was one sentence that really struck a chord with me. It reads as follows: “Get it done professionally. Your eyes will thank you” Ok that’s two sentences, but you get the point. Geek Squad came into our home and most certainly did not disappoint. Daniel and Chris were both very knowledgeable to say the least. They were toggling back and forth from menus I never knew existed. They had Geek Squad hardware that instantly offers credibility to the operation.Very impressive. Glad it wasn’t me. lol Finished product is an entry level OLED is putting out a picture that way exceeds its normal capabilities, putting it in the same ring of much more expensive panels. They told me it would be another 200$ to get it fixed and would take weeks. I was not made aware of this when I purchased the phones. Do NOT fall for this SCAM. I Purchased a TV along with a 3 year extended Warranty with Geek Squad back in 2019. Filed a claim over a year ago once the TV stopped working properly. Talked to many Geek Squad Representatives who tell me my TV must be serviced before I can get a warranty. Although they have provided me with a Service provider with an applicable phone number, the service provider is unreachable. I’ve been trying for weeks to change my Service provider just to be able to get the TV serviced so I can claim my warranty. I kinda thought it was because of COVID and all the problems we were dealing with but this is just flat out bad service and you should avoid Geek Squad.

I've spent a lot of money at Best Buy over the years, but I'm never using their services again! I bought a laptop with a protection plan through their website, and there was nothing to indicate that this protection plan never expires! The Geek Squad is not trustworthy, their protection services are worthless, and cancelling this plan is more difficult than it needs to be (the only way to cancel is to contact them by phone and wait to speak to someone). I don't buy from businesses that use dishonest tactics like not disclosing the full details of a protection plan.

The staff were excellent. Senthil went above and beyond to fight for me to get as much value out of my service experience. It wasn't necessarily without some bumps in the road and really this kind of thing never is as technology becomes so intertwined in our lives BUT the staff there at the South Surrey location made the outcome of my service as good as could have been expected. They cared and they did their best. In the end, I'm happy enough with that. Also I think they appreciated that I did my part. I bought the warranty (a very expensive 4 year warranty) and this protected my investment in a very expensive computer. I think this mattered. TL;DL: Geekquad swapped the base for my $2900 surfacebook with one from a $1700 dollar model without my consent or telling me I have a first gen i7 surface book with dedicated gpu. The A key stopped working last fall so i took it in to Geek squad to see if they can do anything about it (the Microsoft store dont do repairs and can only fix it buy replacing the entire base of the laptop which would cost more then 800 bucks). Two weeks later I picked up the laptop from best buy, went home and realize the A key was fixed but the return key didn't work. I brought it back to geek squad the next day and they refunded me the $150 dollar repairing fee and told me to go to the Microsoft store as they don't fix surface products (why would they take in my lap top the first place then?) I waited for 2 months and took the laptop to the Microsoft store because i needed to save up some money and I didnt touch the surface because I have another gaming laptop to use at the mean time. The staff at the Microsoft store told me the Geek Squad replaced my entire base with a lower tier one. My laptop cost me about $2900 and the base they replaced with was one for the $1700 model without the dedicated GPU. They never ask my consent for this nor for matter of fact told me about it. The geek squad clerk used the term "repair" the entire time he was dealing with me. On the receipt it says "keyboard replacement" but in reality they replaced the entire bottom with a lot of other hardware besides the keyboard. So basically they ripped me off for hundreds of dollars and gave me an inferior component that doesnt actually work. I contacted the customer service and had to send the laptop back to them last week to find a resolution. Still waiting for an response after almost a week even though they put my case on urgent and I really need the laptop for school. Will never go back to them in the future and will absolutely not recommend them to anybody.

I just recently signed up for Netflix to get 4K contents and found out that the calibration did not work for 4K videos and the picture is very dark. I called Geek Squad and they said my calibration was done more than 90 days ago (it was 4 months ago) so I would need to pay another $300 for a Tech to come out and check the calibration settings. This is disappointing because the calibration setting is locked and only Geek Squad can unlock and fix it. I won't be using this service again.

We had a laptop that wouldn't boot so took it to Geek Squad for them to check out. Instead of booking it in, the tech suspected a common Windows issue following an automatic update. We had removed the battery the day before bringing it in and he had us reinstall it and it booted with no problem. Seems this is quite common and while he could have charged for his time, waived the fee and sent us on our way. Great to experience this kind of service and would highly recommend the Geek Squad in Medicine Hat.

Do not use the GeekSquad service... I repeat... do not!!! I sought out help from Geek Squad 3 times. The first time they sent out my MacBook to get fixed as a result of the problems I was experiencing. They didn’t find a problem so they returned it to me. The problem continued so I asked them to send it out again, which they did. It took 2 weeks for them to return my computer and when I got it back they told me that they didn’t do ANYTHING on the computer because the diagnostic tests ran clear. I insisted that the problem was still present and I begged them to do something to fix it because the computer was completely unreliable for a student and research assistant like myself. They said they couldn’t do anything for me and to call the help line. I called the helpline and the lady (Janice M) told me that there was no problem with the computer and that there was nothing I could do. I offered to show videos and clips that I took when the problem occurred but she’s refused to accept them and told me that I was wrong and that anyone could make up a video in order to get a new computer - she essentially called me a liar. She told me she couldn’t do anything other than put me on with a technician via remote on my computer. So I went on my computer and communicated through there with a Technician (Cole Lindenbach) who was practically the ONLY TRULY HELPFUL and kind person I encountered at Geek Squad. Cole suspected a problem may be present but since he couldn’t work on the computer physically suggested I seek out further help. He was so helpful that he even wrote out an email with the issues that he suspected were present so that I could ask a technician to help me out in person. Since Geek Squad was completely unreliable and not at all helpful, I brought my laptop over to the Apple Store and they found the problem within 15 minutes of me being there. I am so COMPLETELY disappointed by your service (one that clearly does exist because no one ever helped and plus always insisted there were no problems). I am so upset that I have been paying a ridiculously high price on a monthly basis and when I ACTUALLY need your help, no one is willing to REALLY help me - everyone turned me away. As a customer I am so disappointed, not only was I made to feel like I was crazy for bringing a problem that “wasn’t present” but I felt incredibly belittled by everyone I encountered at GeekSquad. I will make sure to let absolutely everyone know that this service is all talk and at the end of the day DOES NOT deliver.

Where i was not satisfied with the service was that on two calls to geek squad customer service i was told that an item i had would be able to be serviced and repaired. My son has been waiting for his gift card (or returned broken product) from geek squad for over a month. They put in the wrong email address from the application, and that’s just the start. I sent in the claim and realized the email was wrong, fixed it. Called a second time wondering where the product or gift card was. Found out they were sending him a gift card because the product was in fact broken, to find out the email was wrong AGAIN. Had to open ANOTHER CLAIM! Was told 3 business days it will be sent to his email address. Called AGAIN to find out it would be 7-10 business days.. not 3 business days because of the new claim. My son has been without the product for over a month. Paying for a service I’m not provided in a proficient time frame is unsatisfactory. I do understand the new claim issue and the company needing more time. But when it’s due to incompetency of employees entering an email address incorrectly, I shouldn’t have to wait over a month.

The tech analyst who assisted me, Patrick Remy, provided excellent service, far exceeding my expectations. He not only resolved all of my issues but did so in an expert and insightful way. He is an superb communicator and problem solver. As a retired IT project manager myself, I am very impressed that Best Buy Geek Squad Prince Albert has such high performers on their staff. Not only is their pricing unreasonable. They cancelled my warranty without notification or any attemp to contact me. After paying for over a year when my product broke they said too bad we missed a payment so we cancelled your membership. No call, no email. Just wasted money. Customer service was horrible long wait times. They would hang up (I wasn't being rude on phone) and they were extremely defensive/resistant about taking an issue to supervisor or manager. Even the manager did not speak to me in person, just left a message and refused call back to actually discuss. Save yourself the cash. Self insure or find a company with a modicum of professionalism and morals.

I had a lot of issues : waiting hours on the phone to have an agent, when finally I had, he didn't me give all the details about claims... I sent the TV and I wait weeks to have the email with the refund : I went 3 times to best buy of course geeksquad told me to go to the best buy customer s service. Speaking of them they were very good, even an employee stayed at least 30min at the phone to try to fix the problem. Unfortunately it didn't work after hours on the phone and 3 times to best buy shop I had my email refund. Now I have an other problem actually the same but for expresso machine, calls... To hear they already sent the email... Nope ! Worst service ever. Best buy shouldn't work with them, I will never buy to best buy again because of geek squad service.

Save yourself the headache and don't go to geek squad. My experience start to finish was terrible and frustrating. Starting with talking to Adrian who was not helpful and not good at explaining what needed to be done to the computer. I dropped off my laptop to get my photos uploaded to iCloud. I got my computer back with some photos on iCloud, some were on google drive, and I was missing over 3000 photos completely - which I did not notice until I was home. When I went back Adrian charged me for a USB drive with my missing photos on it. Why am I being charged for my own photos that you took off my computer when that's not what I wanted in the first place? Extremely frustrating experience. I will not be returning, and cancelling my membership. Only reason they get one star is because I can't give none.

DO NOT GET GEEK SQUAD MEMBERSHIP. I have been trying to cancel the membership, since I have not been using for the last one year. I visited the STC showroom to cancel and they said I can cancel only from 1 800 number. I called the number and the wait time is over an hour and still could not talk to them. I wasted more than 4 hours on 4 different times trying to connect. I left a message to call back so many times, NO RESPONSE. Why is it so difficult to cancel their membership? Are they tying to take our money though we don't want their services? My membership goes to an automatic renewal as of September 1st and I have no way of canceling it, as no way to contact them. I may end up paying my hard earned money for this losers. WHAT A WAY TO STEAL THE MONEY FROM THE CUSTOMERS. KEEP IT UP BEST BUY!! I hope i can to cancel the membership without paying anymore. There is no rating poor enough to accurately describe my experience with Geek Squad and the repair company (R.F. Appliances) sent to my house. My wall oven quit working on December 22, 2020. After multiple attempts of changing the same circuit board over and over again over the course of almost three months with no positive repair I was forced to take apart my oven myself and correct the issue. The technician that came to my house three times lacked knowledge and would only test parts on the oven when I requested so. As an electrician myself if I wanted to spend my time fixing appliances I would not have purchased warranty. It is not my job to baby sit a technician coming to fix something for me. I repaired my oven MYSELF on march 13th. Over the course of 12 weeks without an oven i spent roughly 3x the cost of my warranty on take out food. Trying to deal with Geek Squad on the phone has been a nightmare. I have made roughly 20 calls over the past few months trying to get updates and escalate my issue. Geek Squad has told me they cannot even extend my warranty by the 3 months I was without an oven. Nor will they even meet me in the middle on the extra food costs I have incurred since December. I cannot express in words the frustration Geek Squad and R.F. Appliances has caused me.

I called from 8:30 until 8:50 9 times and tried every option and a person did not answer once . I’m in there often and always 20 employees wandering around . I am very poor at fixing problems with my computer. I have geek squad. I can honestly tell you that I would not be without them. I have spent many hours trying to solve problems and getting frustrated. The people at Geek Squad are great. They are polite, courteous and most of all know what they are doing. If you are like me then you definitely need them. Their prices are reasonable and the service is great. If your Best Buy warranty has run out you can still get Geek Squad directly from them. They are adding new services all the time. I do not work for them nor do I personally know anyone who works there. I am not a professional influensor nor am I being paid in any way by Geek Squad. One star because none is available. 1 year ago bought $ 4,500.00 of new appliances. Bosch dishwasher has started to have a bad odour. Called Geek Squad, told problem, no response for 2 weeks. Finally, received local call, they will replace, but I have to pay $199 for reinstall and...wait for it. .. my insurance no longer valid, must pay for another policy if I wish. My response...just want to have someone come out and look at it...their response....no one in Kamloops that they sub contract to do can do Bosch repairs. Honest! They encourage you to buy a policy they can't fufil. Had go round with Corporate Geeks, and store, same response. Store manager was unhelpful, and had no concept of customer relations. Probably felt I was unreasonable in actually expecting someone might be able to look at problem without replacing and adding extra costs. My take.....Stay away from Best Buy, do NOT buy Geek Squad protection. Save yourself some grief.

Av receiver I bought was defective, geek squad tried to tell me that a popping noise was normal (it wasn't normal) so i took it back to the store for an exchange and best buy exchanged it (it was less than 2 weeks old) 2nd receiver sounds better right from the start, before full setup. And it does not make any pop noises at all, which could have damaged my speakers!

I purchased a Geek Squad membership because the first computer I purchased broke down every month and after 6 months, I had to throw the computer out because it wasn't worth replacing the motherboard. On my second computer, I I purchased the plan because the employee told me I could cancel the membership atter six months to see if it was worth it. I tried to cancel and they said I owe them the remaining balance of my two year plan. A two year plan is worth over $2200, my second computer was $650 and my first computer was $500. What a waste of money. I tried to stay within a budget and it has costed dearly. I wanted to buy a mac but tried this to save money. I should have just bought the mac! I will never shop at Best Buy ever again.

Took my HP laptop here a few years ago after thinking it was toast due to contact with liquid but in fact it actually just needed updates (quick backstory). So, this gentlemen working there who was basically like a robot with no emotions tells me its my motherboard and would cost like $1300. I left there defeated and eventually thought to call Costco where I purchased it from. They helped me reset and update it over the phone and it has worked fine ever since. To think I got this geek squad worker for gave me false info almost costing me $1300 was sickening after the fact. Also, my mom used to pay for this service and every time she had issues with her mac they would not fix the problem/be helpful. Geek Squad sucks and there is a reason they have really bad reviews. Go elsewhere.
