A clear example of why people shop online. Service was very slow (waited 40 minutes to be served), had limited stock and had no idea of what they had in stock or not.
I bought an ASUS computer here a year ago. I also purchased a two-year warranty. A few months ago, the laptop didn't turn on, so I asked for a repair, but they couldn't fix it after three visits. On my last visit, I spoke to the technician. I have visited 3 times with the same symptoms and now they said the person who has to fix my computer is me, not them. However, after talking to each other, the employees concluded that it was probably a laptop battery problem. And they said the battery is not in warranty. I couldn't understand. I have 2year protection plan. (((When you guys sold computers, you sold them together.)) My laptop battery still performs well. life isn't over. Then there must be a problem with the product. Isn't it the right thing to do to fix this? They never disassembled my computer and they didn't say that when they sold it. I am sorry. If I had bought the computer from Costco, I would have received better service... I will never visit this store again and would not recommend it to my neighbors. I can't understand why they sell about $200 warranty and can't get a battery for less than $100. Just because it's close doesn't necessarily mean it's good.

Don't buy the warranty they offer, it's a scam. My rights have been violated and they are refusing to honor my return. I've been in store for almost an hour and even the customer service has refused to help me. I will never purchase or suggest that someone come here ever again.

Eli has helped us picked our parts and backorder them for us. He was so kind and helpful, has amazing customer service and I’m glad to have seen him before having this bad experience with Computers Canada. We spent 3000$ on computer parts and sales event(Black Friday) were coming up. We checked Computers Canada policy and It says price adjustments within the 14 days applies as long as it’s within 14 days. Black Friday requirements on the website also never said that there is no price adjustments allowed. Anyways, apparently the lady “manager” was giving attitude to my boyfriend and said no to price adjustments, however, as a client we still have our 30 days unopened return policy. When we came back to return the item, she gave him a sigh with an annoyed gesture. My boyfriend simply just wanted to return the part and get it from somewhere else since we still have our 30 days return and somewhere else is cheaper. She was just really rude and was not professional at all. Another manager came and agreed on giving us a price adjustment but honestly If It was not for Eli, we would’ve just fully refunded the parts and bought it somewhere else. I would not want to buy from someone who gives me attitude because I decided to return the item and buy it somewhere else. Canada Computers isn’t the only place to buy computer parts, I hope her attitude isn’t like that everytime someone wants to return something because It’s cheaper somewhere else and hopefully she can acknowledge that people buy computer parts on different websites too. Great assistance with gaming laptop issue. Yunpeng went out of his way to solve issue fast, while explaining what the issue was. Problem was analysed in less than an hour and solved in less than 24 hours.
BUYER BEWARE TLDR: Ordinateurs Canada sells previously opened, AND BROKEN returned items as new! BUYER BEWARE I purchased a brand new ACER monitor as a Christmas gift. Once opening the box it was evident that the screen severely damaged. After some deliberation with the staff.. they would not exchange the monitor. (Even tho I had purchased the additional warranty) Rather they claimed that I was the one who damaged the screen. I decided that I would purchase a NEW screen, while they contacted head office to determine if they would refund me on the broken screen. However, I made it clear that I would only purchase a new screen if we opened and inspected it IN STORE first! After opening the first box in store (technically the second screen), it was clear that the screen had already been returned and was being RESOLD as if it was NEW! The cables were all tangled up and there was no screen protector on the screen! The sales man was a little embarrassed. He apologized, and said we will open another one to prove that this was a one off. As we opened the third screen, IT WAS ALSO DAMAGED! The cables were tangled up, the box was missing some of the packaging styrofoam, and the stand had a piece broken. SEE THE PHOTOS (2 damaged stands, one was mine, the other was from a "NEW unopened" box in store!). REFUNDING is NOT an easy process. The store manager has NO Authority and needs to send an email to head office to get an approval on a refund! I am still waiting for the manager to get back to me on their decision to refund my money, its been a week. ( Even tho I had purchased the additional warranty for over 60$, which did not cover the damaged screen they sold me.) Rather they claimed that I was the one who physically damaged the screen. If I don't hear back from the manager I will contact the Consumer Protection! I have more photos to support my case. I will NEVER GO BACK to this place, in fact the first thing I tell anyone looking to buy computer equipment is to AVOID this place.

I recently built my own gaming PC and a lot of the part came from this location because I knew if anything didn't work out I can always come back to the store within my exchange period. Out of all my products, I only got the warranty on my motherboard and although they did put pressure on the warranty for my other parts (how can you be angry? they're just doing their job) I refused to get the warranty on my other products. Turns out, after a few days of usage my motherboard had a message written that was really weird and I couldn't Use my new PC anymore, what made matters worse was when I disassembled everything, my CPU cooler ripped out my actual CPU chip bending the pins in the worst directions. I was stressful because that chip is worth 500$ tax in!!! I showed up one morning, explained to them my situation, turns out there never saw that type of message either but regardless, they completely took care of me, they fixed my CPU, swapped my motherboard for a brand new one and they let me get the warranty on my products that were already purchased. They updated my BIOS, even re-installed my CPU with their own thermal paste to save me the little 10$ to purchase my own and all in all I was not only relieved but greatly impressed with the service. I did read the reviews and I noticed a lot of the negative ones are due to headphones, personally I'm a salesman in a cellphone store and I know for a fact we don't accept headphones back either because of hygiene (similar to trying to return underwear at a clothing store). The only problem is one salesman in particular didn't really know much of a what he was saying and simply wanted me to buy whatever but people are people right? and for the most part everyone else was extremely knowledgeable. Aside of that, I'd recommend everyone building a PC or simply in need of products to come to this location.

Good store with real prices (compared to best buy which marks up then marks down "a lot"). Though I would like to point out that my online order I did email if I can pick it up on three business days later as the email said pick up must be within two days. No answer. Called the store, no answer. Fortunately for me the website FAQ did say 3 business days so I did pick it up there in time. Staff is knowledgeable as well. As for other situations from other reviewers I cannot comment because I do most of the service myself and with PC prices being what they are, rarely do I fix computers. That and most of the time when it breaks down the computer is 4-5 years old, that's the max for a PC. Hope they do well.

The teenagers that work there don't know much about computers, did not once offer any help, and basically just loudly chatted behind the counter the entire time, even when I was being served. This store is like Christmas for me. I just wish the market prices for graphics adapters and motherboards was a bit better. I have a feeling that there will be a class action suit for price fixing on those items in the future. Remember the price fixing on CRTs in the late 1990s and early 2000s? And the RAM in the 1990s? First choice for anything computer related
This is my first time ever reviewing a store but I am very upset. We bought a Christmas present (headphones) for my son. We spend over $500. He was unsatisfied with the quality so we tried to return them today within the written 15 days return policy on the receipt. They refused to accept the return. We have always tried to support smaller business instead of going to the best buys of the world but this kind of business practice is unconscionable.

Very poor customer service at this Canada Computers location. I left my laptop there 1h before close on a monday evening expecting to get it back on Tuesday evening. I called to see if it was finished about 15 times on the Tuesday and got no asnwer. Went to the location and the tech had left. The Wednesday was a holiday (and they still had my laptop in the store), and the Thursday when I went to pick it up and asked the worker there if they added the mods to my laptop he said everything was good ????! Come to find out they didn't even touch my laptop and I couldn't work from Monday-Thursday for no reason whatsoever...

Pretty good with some very helpful employees. Although some others just want to make a sale and just tell you to buy something without explanation why its better or worse than another similar product. Prices can be really good for some items and not so much for others; so do some research.
I stated upgrading and building computers about >< 15 years ago. Just as Windows 7 was being rolled out. First buying computer components through Best Buys, GT240, Ram, Fans, and then Microbytes to do full builds. I have been purchasing computer components and looking to see whats new from Canada Computer, Ordinateurs Canada, for roughly 18 months. I wish I knew about Computer Canada from the start. Well equipped. Of course limited selections for certain items. Not as many people building computers these days, that fad is over. But they also prebuild computers that are 'very compensatively priced' if you know what you are looking for. I purchased a gaming PC in late March of last year. I like powerful computers. In short a gaming PC is enhanced for graphical and processing. I was surprised by the price. Truly. Since then I built a second PC only this time AMD Ryzen platform. My first builds were AMD. Inexpensive as compared to Intel but bottle necking and throttling turn me to Intel. My first Intel build was based on Socket 1150 and I-7 6700 Skylake CPU. Now I am using Socket 1151 and intel i7 9700k and Gigabytes RTX 2070 Super. I paid $1,100 for the PC that came with a i7-9700k, 370 UD board, 16 gigs of ddr4 ram , 500 gig M.2 drive, RTX 2070 and good case. Just the RTX 2070 Supper retails for ><$1000.00 due to chipmakers and Semi conductor. So now have the best of both world. I am back to AMD and certainly see the difference Ryzen brought to the table for AMD and Intel Socket 1151, intel i7 9700k and RTX 2070 Supper.

I pre order a RTX 3060TI and the guy told me they would have some in stock in a month. So he made me pay upfront. 3 months forward I still have 0 answers from them and they don't even pick up the phone. I went there before a couple of time and it's like people work in a place that sells pc part without even knowing what they hell it's used for.

Ordered motherboard online to pick up in the store. When I ordered, their status said that they had a stock for pick up. It has been 5 days, and I have not received any confirmation or update on whether I can pick up or not. When I call, they just tell me to wait for confirmation. I submitted the ticket in canada computer online website, and they do not reply. There is absolutely no service. They could at least tell me how long it is going to take. It is slowing my plans and work.

Can't speak to their in-store service but DEFINITELY DO NOT shop on their online store. My friends and i ordered the same item (SNES Classic) online even though they stated that they do not have it in stock and would notify us when it is made available. The link was removed within an hour which gave us hope that we managed to get our order in on time. We were ok with that and willing to wait. Obviously they withdrew the money immediately and within a couple hours one of my friends got an email stating his order could not be processes. They didnt issue any refund until he called and complained about it a couple weeks later. My order was kept for 3 weeks before i got the same email and once again no refund until I called.

Good selection of computer parts and other electronics. The staff knowledge is a little bit and miss. Went in for a new wifi router, and although he started the conversation like a salesperson, when I asked about specific details, he was not sure. Yet another time, when shopping for a graphic card, the salesperson was very knowledgeable, but his customer service was lacking. It is still the only place I shop for computer parts.

Service is top-notch which amply makes up for the fact that some items run out of stock quickly, especially sale items. Staff are helpful and can get items transferred from other locations quickly (my transfer was recieved the same day and ready for pickup the next morning).

SHOPPER BEWARE!!! This store sells used and damaged items as "NEW" and the additional warranty does nothing if the item is damaged once you have opened it. If you go in store and try and refund or exchange the manager cannot make these decisions and needs to contact a real boss at the Head Office to investigate in order to make that decision. They expect you to send that email to the HO but this one time the store manager did and said we would get a response in a week. Well that was 3 weeks ago!! So basically the time will elapse so much that my refund or exchange will be voided because I will be past the allowed days. So the store currently has the money we paid for the item and the broken item. We also had them open 2 other of the same items in store to see if those were damaged or opened before. Turns out they sell damaged and already opened items as "NEW"!!! So even if we wanted to exchange (after it gets approved) we cannot since they are all damaged! SHOP AT BEST BUY.. Your experience will never be like this!!
Very helpful staff and competitive prices for anything computer related. Great selection if you're building your custom pc, which is now the way to go and much simpler than you think. They don't have fake sales as some stores do nowadays, but real bargain deals since their prices are already good.

I would never buy from here again. I purchase a product more expensively just because it seemed a serious company. But their lack of commitment made me waste twice the price of the product and then I had to go to order it again. They never delivered the product and when I claimed the issue, their answer was, "sorry, it'll take another month", so a month late from what they offered. There was basically no solution. Well... I've ordered from Canada Computers for years online before they finally opened some physical stores in Québec. They offer great regular prices and a large enough selection of products in stock. They are specialized in computer components and often offer products that would otherwise only be available online at similar prices, minus the shipping delay. They also have a store in Laval and their stocks are publicly available on each product pages. I highly recommend!

I called on a Thursday afternoon and they said to bring it in the following day, Friday after 2pm. I Live in NDG so I went to Point Claire and brought it in. I spoke to an individual the day prior explaining a hinge just needs to be fixed they said it's a simple procedure. When I arrived on Friday they said they didn't have the part which is fine and that the head office is closed on weekends. I was ok with this information they said to me take your computer home we will call you back Tuesday and they never did. I called asking if they forgot about me the man who answered the phone said he has no idea what I am talking about that the invoice they gave me with Maxime A's name on it doesn't mean anything and he only works Weekends so I have to wait until Friday to get an invoice. He continued to say that there was nothing he could do besides having me call back in an hour to speak to his supervisor perhaps he can help. This is ridiculous, google reviews don't mean anything.

Eli has helped us picked our parts and backorder them for us. He was so kind and helpful, has amazing customer service and I’m glad to have seen him before having this bad experience with Computers Canada. We spent 3000$ on computer parts and sales event(Black Friday) were coming up. We checked Computers Canada policy and It says price adjustments within the 14 days applies as long as it’s within 14 days. Black Friday requirements on the website also never said that there is no price adjustments allowed. Anyways, apparently the lady “manager” was giving attitude to my boyfriend and said no to price adjustments, however, as a client we still have our 30 days unopened return policy. When we came back to return the item, she gave him a sigh with an annoyed gesture. My boyfriend simply just wanted to return the part and get it from somewhere else since we still have our 30 days return and somewhere else is cheaper. She was just really rude and was not professional at all. Another manager came and agreed on giving us a price adjustment but honestly If It was not for Eli, we would’ve just fully refunded the parts and bought it somewhere else. I would not want to buy from someone who gives me attitude because I decided to return the item and buy it somewhere else. Canada Computers isn’t the only place to buy computer parts, I hope her attitude isn’t like that everytime someone wants to return something because It’s cheaper somewhere else and hopefully she can acknowledge that people buy computer parts on different websites too. I have been here twice and the staff has always been friendly and very helpful. Most recently the bracket on my CPU heatsink fan just simply broke off and I was able to immediately find someone to help me here. The employee who helped was knowledgeable and even though the part I needed was not available, he took me through all of the options and made recommendations on what I could do. If you're looking to buy computer parts from people who know what they are talking about, definitely try here!

They push too hard on the extended warranty sales. Today they straight up lied to me to try and sell me a 2 year extended warranty. They said the manufacturer's warranty was only 1 year, but in fact it's 1.5 years full and 5 years limited.

It's boxing day and there is only one register open. There was a lot of staff available they could've opened another register. Instead they stood around chatting. Normally the service is good but I'm surprised especially on a busy day.

Very wide computer parts variety, you can find almost anything.
Great store with lots of products to chose from. I've built many custom units and have always been satisfied. Only reason for not delivering a 5 star rating is that this store has a big problem answering the phone, pretty much on any given day. It's not a deal breaker for me, but in the end, it's something that needs to be worked on. As an example, the Laval and Montreal downtown stores answer the phone all the time. One last thing, although I believe it's worth looking into their 2 to 4 year extended warranties, I would recommend you read the "legal" terms and conditions. I can't say I've had much experience with it...but there are lots of complaints floating around claims with Canada Computers honoring the warranties. Do your own due diligence before purchasing these warranty plans.

I needed to place a big order for business. Figured I would go local. But alas they don't take AMEX. Get with the program Canada Computers! Everyone uses AMEX for business expenses. So they lost a big sale (a few big ones probably) all because they don't want to divvy up the extra % AMEX takes.. stupid.
This store shouldn't be getting such a bad rating, but their head office should. Service at this store is excellent, but if you need customer support and you need to go through the phone service, good luck. I have called 4 times now and the wait times are between 30mins to 1 hour and a half to speak to someone. I sent multiple emails and never got any answer back. Even though I purchased for many thousands of dollars from them, I can't seem to get service back for something as simple as a non working NVidia game code. Very frustrating

I've only been to this Canada computers twice since i live in laval. I never leave reviews on google but they are too pushy with warranties and cant take no for an answer. I told them 4 time no i dont want the warranty and they were almost mad at me for not taking it. I dont appreciate it when going to buy a simple part for my pc.
Good, well organised shop. The staff is friendly. The prices are generally good. If they don't have it in stock though their supply system is slow as sin. The person I spoke to didn't seem particularly knowledgable, but was about on par with what you'd expect from a decent gamer, so more knowledgable than a large swath of the people who would walk in. He was however very polite, patient and willing to explore my needs. Their website is probably the best for a computer shop in Montreal, it will give you an idea of if you'll find what you're looking for with inventory levels that aren't updated live.
I have had a unique computer issue that the team at Canada Computers West Island has been helping me with. I want to thank them personally for all of their invaluable advice and helpfulness throughout this situation that is finally coming to an end after nearly 2 years of major frustration. I lost approximately 49 million files in about 25 hard drives following a major computer breakdown and they have been so much more than helpful that i will never be able to thank them enough.Thank you to Steve, Danny, Yeng ping, Chris and max for their advice , patience and friendliness. Competitive prices however service varies between great to awful. Waiting to pay or return something shouldn't be that long. In general, the employees are knowledgeable and friendly but some of them are unapproachable.
Selling used/defective products as new. Opened three "new" Xbox 360 controllers, all had analogue stick issues. Other products in the store seem to be re-boxed. They did give me a refund no Q's asked though, 2 stars that at least.

Great place to shop for computer parts and supplies. Have been shopping there for the past 7 years. The staff is very friendly and always able to give you great advice on your purchases. Never had any problems when returning or exchanging a component that does not suite my needs. As a regular customer, the staff and I usually strike up a conversation on new or upcoming technologies. Fun place to visit and to purchase your computer systems or parts. Weekly competitive pricing also, go check it out if you have never been to a Canada Computers store. Went to Canada Computers in the west-island to buy a Corsair HS 60 headset. Corsair makes the HS60 Surround and the newer HS60 Pro, which is an updated version of the HS60 Surround. They both cost the same price, so naturally I wanted the slightly better, updated version. However, I purchased the HS60 Surround by accident, thinking I had bought the Pro, so I left the store, went to my car, opened the box, only to realise my mistake. Within 3 minutes flat, I was back in the store explaining my error, and that I'd like to exchange it for the Pro. The sales guy said "no", because I had opened the box. Now I didn't open any of the packaging, only the box itself. In doing so, I broke their precious seal on the box. Point is, that it became a point of aggravation for me, so I decided to leave it at that for the night. Maybe I'll call consumer protection about it. On another note, I've saved up $3500 for a new computer build, and I was seriously thinking of dropping that in their store in a week or two. So in a way, now that I've seen how they do business, I get the last laugh, and I'm glad for the experience before I spent real money at their store. They got their last shekel out of me! Best Buy would have taken the headset back, no questions asked!

AMD 6000 SERIES PRE-SALES FREEZE I was told Monday the 23rd in store by an employee that there would only be pre-orders on Wednesday the 25th for the amd 6000 cards but it'd be first come first serve so a bunch of us have been here for hours only to get a employee to come out and she said they're not doing it anymore. Seems they got an email yesterday from head office saying they weren't doing it. It would have been nice if they posted something on the door or on their website or even on social media. she was rude and made it seem like it's our fault. Bad experience! I purchased a wifi card and because i m not that knowledgeable with computers, they made me pay $20 fee to have the device installed. Steve said, i quote: I will install it for you. Unquote. Two days later (weekend), i came back to recuperate my pc. Maxime said, there`s a note from Steve saying that, i quote: it`s done! I then said, i need you to turn on the pc and show me what Steve had done. Both Maxime and I noticed that the device WAS IN FACT NOT INSTALLED.....! Maxime said that he will give me a refund. He ended up talking to a female collegue, then he came back to say that he cannot refund me....! I requested to have Steve know that what he had done to me IS NOT PROFESSIONNEL AT ALL. I have to say that Maxime did everything he could to help me out. Thank you Maxime for the great customer service, and for helping me install that device. I strongly advise the management to pay more ATTENTION ON THE PEOPLE THEY HIRE....

Went to the West Island store today to check stock status for the new 30 series cards and thinking that if there is no stock I'll just backorder and wait for it. So i asked if by any miracle there is any 3060 or 3070 in stock at which on guy said let me check in the back... To my surprise the guy came back with an Asus 3070, handed the card to the cashier and said , this is the card that someone reserved but cancelled however it can only be sold with 3 year extended warranty since the other guy paid for the warranty and can only be sold with like this ( $116 extra ). I told them I dont want the extended warranty and to just sell me the card which they straight up refused unless I take their 3yrs plan. Since they didnt want to sell me just the card I said how about put me on the backorder list for any of the 306/3070's cards and I'll pick up whenever you receive stock. To my surprise the lady cashier refused saying they do not accept any backorders...... I had no choice than to accept defeat and leave. TLDR: Went to CC West Island, they had one 3070 in stock but refused to sell it to me w/o the 3yrs extended warranty. Than they straight up refused to place an in-store backorder claiming they dont do backorders anymore. This was by far the worst retail experience of my life. For your own good, please avoid this store like the plague!!! CC head office: If you read this review by any chance, you should do a store audit and fire the manager/supervisor of that store, this is straight up extorsion coupled with in-store scalping.

I have bought a number of fairly products from Canada Computers that I could not find on the shelf of any other retailer, and the pricing was very competitive. Its nice to be able to pick up the merchandise directly sometimes even in the age of online ordering. The stores also don't shy away from offering suitably identified refurbished products for those of us who want the best deal. Staff have always been helpful.
