I had a very positive experience with patrick. I am a gamer who knows very little about computers and when my desktop wouldn't register to the monitor I was scared. Within minutes of noticing the problem I called patrick and he promptly diagnosed the issue, ordered a new part, and had the computer ready within a week. Do NOT go here. I paid $130 to have my computer fixed and was totally scammed. The hinge broke, but he assured me he could fix it (he couldn't). He sent me home with the epoxy soaking wet (it still is, 2 days later), his fingerprint on the keyboard, and an absolute mess of the stuff. The "shop" reeked of urine, and is in a very rough neighbourhood apartment. I messaged him after, telling him I felt scammed, and he just called me rude. I was even kind enough to TIP. Absolute scam. UPDATE: Almost 2 weeks later the epoxy still isn't dry! Still a scam. Added another couple photos to show how wet it still is. The good reviews are fake, don't be scammed or intimidated by this phoney.

NOT "Excellent service with reasonable price" (I was asked by the owner to give the five star review like that in front of him so I can get my computer back. However, I want to write something about my true feeling: After one month I finally got my computer back. 1. It just need change the motherboard and he had ask me to purchase motherboard, a expensive case from him and another computer fan. which are not necessary. And also the case he sold to me is BROKEN, and HE REFUSED CHANGE IT. 2. I had ask my "broken" things back so I can check if they are really broken. But he refused give to me. 3. He always call me to ask more money from me. 4. I need clean my computer every time before and after use it. Because it smell bad, he smoke a lot near by my computer. 5. The motherboard had changed during the repair. He claim the original order is missing. And sell me another $100+ cheaper motherboard. When I ask the difference back, he said those price are the same. 6. Also he want a lot free things from me and resell them. In conclusion, I WON'T GO there anymore. Cause I am feeling being robbed. 千万不要去这一家，坑爹货，老烟鬼，修完整个新机箱都有烟味，还是坏的。 ----------------continued: That answer is not acceptable. 1. The new case sell to me is already broken!!! 2. Brought in my windows laptop on short notice because I spilled coffee on it (☹️☹️☹️), and he was super accomodating, and super helpful! Inititally we thought the processor was toast, but managed to salvage my data (thank god) that wasnt on the SSD drive. Then later after Id left and paid, he calls back and says he replaced a coil, and the computer turned back on! Any other service would have stopped trying after business hours, or moved on from the project after being paid, but he didnt. I'm so grateful!! He really knows his stuff and has knowledge that no one else in halifax does.

There are pros and cons to Patrick's work. On the pro side, there was no wait and he was available for me to drop by when I called. I was 99% certain that the problem was a broken part and I was able to watch him take apart my laptop to identify the part that needed replacing. He looked the part up on Amazon and sent me the link via Facebook so that I could order it and pay for it myself, which I liked. His diagnostic price was $45+tax and an additional $45+tax for the repair. I wasn't expecting the second charge up front and didn't have enough cash with me but he insisted I do an e-transfer while I was in his apartment before I took my laptop (I didn't want to leave it there). I would have expected to pay the repair price when I came back with the part but he charged me up front. I was not comfortable with the location. I didn't know it was going to be in an apartment building - which smelled strongly of cat urine - and there is no guest parking so he had me double park in front of the entrance. The apartment itself was smelly and poorly lit. He assured me that he could work in the dark but I was nervous that he would lose a tiny screw or knock over my laptop since he didn't keep it entirely on the table for some reason. He talks a lot and has a lot of stories. Like another reviewer said, he repeatedly asked for a good review until I said "you already asked me several times to give you a review." I brought someone with me when I went back for the repair. Bottom line, I might consider him to do other simple repairs, but not in that location.

I had an issue with a brand new motherboard and CPU. Although they could not help with the damage on the motherboard (they informed me right off the bat when they saw the damage) they did try to help with the CPU, but the damage was too severe. They did give me some sound advice that allowed me to get replacement parts, and helped me getting my new rig up and running. Thank you very much. Sometimes professional advice is just as valuable (if not more so) than actually physical help.

Took my old Toshiba Laptop in when I started having video issues. It was determined that it was an overheating issue. The tech did a thorough removal of redundant and corrupting software. When he was done, the notebook was running much cooler, and obviously faster, and the video issue has been rectified. This companies service is strongly recommended.

Guy rents a 1 bedroom apartment. He resides in the living room and also runs the "business" from the same room. Dark and dingy. He sublets the bedroom on airbnb to people. New guests coming and leaving everyday. They may be using the computers for their personal use while it is given there for repairs.
