DESCRIPTION

You will be able to see all the reviews of people who are consuming the services and products of Aardvark Computer Solutions, Inc. (Computer Repair) in Dalhousie (Canada).

At present this firm gets a score of 2.7 over 5 and that score is based on 17 reviews.

As you can read, its rating is average, neither too high nor too low, and it is founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the valuation is quite credible. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.

As you know, we do not usually bother to give reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

REVIEWS OF Aardvark Computer Solutions, Inc. IN Dalhousie

After my hard drive crashed, the staff at Aardvark were extremely supportive. They were very clear on timelines and process, which was a huge relief. The also often got back to me a day or two before the anticipated deadlines, and were willing to try out one or two crazy ideas in an effort to help me get irretrievable data back. They are a great team and I would highly recommend them.

Total rip off and unprofessional. Avoid by all costs.

Not impressed with these guys. Only left "one" star because there wasn't a lower option.

Short version: Rip off ("recovered" files were ALL corrupt). Unprofessional. Stay away. Seems like a few other people had similar experiences that they were willing to share in a review in the last month. Longer version: I brought my laptop in for accidental data deletion recovery, indicating some urgency. More than a week later I emailed to ask how the initial assessment was going. The owner doing the job (who you will never see) said he can recover a lot of my data but it will cost me $600. I paid the assessment fee for this info -- that's fair. I said there is only one specific directory that I really could use (I found copies of others), but I can re-calculate the scientific data in it for much less than $600, in terms of my time. Since I was going to walk, he quickly dropped the price to $300 but in the end recovered much more than I asked for (I was specific about the folder I wanted in email). Still, for $300 I was OK with this as it meant I didn't have to spend time trying to do it myself. I was shown the files at pick up and they looked OK but -- silly me -- I didn't click on them while in the store to try to open them. I settled up (for $300) and left but later found that all the files were corrupt (unopenable). The owner was very UNhelpful when I asked for a refund. He said I already got a discount and in any case he "did the work". I said I didn't pay for "work" but for working files (that's what the assessment fee is for!) but that's not how he sees it. Kicker: I was told not to enter their store again after I went in to discuss the matter in person, which apparently "upset the staff" working the front desk. You have to take my word for it that I was completely polite in stating that what was happening to me in this transaction was a complete rip off. I never saw the owner who "did the work" - Chris Forgeron hides behind email.

I have called on Aardvark twice to sort out a couple of problems with my computer and on both occasions they gave me great advice and resolved each problem. I have also emailed their admin staff and gotten prompt answers to my questions. Great service and carried out very professionally – I highly recommend them.

I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before going here. Jacob & Rita's experience were similar to mine. They had my drive for over a month and nobody had contacted me with an update. I actually had to go to them to see them personally to find out what was going on and the guy at the counter (black male with glasses) told me they didn't even look at my drive yet. I asked for a refund and my drive back but the guy told me the drive wasn't even at the store and he agreed to a refund once the drive arrives back at the store. I asked to be put in contact with his "boss" so i can confirm that he never worked on the hard drive and he refused to put us in contact.. HE WOULDN'T EVEN TELL ME HIS BOSSES NAME!!!! He insisted that his so-called imaginary "boss" contacted me on email and phone (which he didn't.. I check my cell and email several times a day) I knew right away something underhanded was going down & I wouldn't doubt that his "boss" and he are the same person... so when I came a week later to get my drive, it got handed to me COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED. THEY DIDN'T EVEN PUT MY HARD DRIVE BACK TOGETHER!!! And then the final spit in the face was he went back on his word of refunding me. He lied right to my face again!!! Just for the fact that this idiot tried to insult my intelligence & waste 6 weeks of my time, I HAD to write this review to warn others. I'll be warning many others about Aardvark computers' scam on various social platforms so they don't continue ripping people off.

While Aardvark may be a supposedly professional organisation, they've shown a pretty huge disregard for good business practices. I went to them with a software freezing problem for my laptop and asked them to take a look since I wasn't feeling like going online to find a solution. They took my laptop and a week later called me up to tell me there was nothing wrong that they could find. at no point was I ever quoted a price for a diagnostic, but when I went to pick up my laptop they charged me 60$ for the "diagnostic" they had done. Of course, this diagnostic hadn't found the source of my problem or even identified what my problem was. They charged 60$ for a failed diagnostic on their part without ever indicating that the diagnostic was going to cost anything. Worse than this, I took my laptop home and quickly noticed the problem was still ongoing. I did a brief internet search on how to do a basic diagnostic and, using only the tools in Control Panel's Reliability History tool, found the report of the errors and issue. It turns out that Aardvark's diagnostic hadn't even involved the operating system's own error logs. When I pointed out that they had missed something so obvious in their "diagnostic" they gave some excuses and refused to acknowledge that they had screwed up. All in all, I am down 60$ and managed to fix my computer, no thanks to Aardvark. Don't go here. You're much better off finding help online at a support forum or just by googling your problem.

I have sent three emails to Aardvark.......no reply. I have telephoned tens of times to find a voice mail box that is permanently full. I have called at the shop three times this week and despite the opening hours showing on their web page, the shop has been closed each time. Customer service is extremely poor and shows a disrespectful and discourteous lack of regard for others.

Took my broken hard drive into them for data recovery. They charged me $55.00 then told me that it would cost me $1800.00-$2000.00 as it required indepth service. I fully understood that the hard drive might require more work than just recovery software but I expected some feedback for the $55.00 I paid for their evaluation service. I pressed for an explanation of what they had done for that $55.00 but all the reception would tell me was that estimate. They did tell me that they had run "software" on the drive but would not divulge the software they had run because it was a "secret". Really???? Simply put...RUN....go and get a free estimate from another company. Charging me $55.00 just to give me an outrageous estimate and no other information is unjustified, in my opinion. I was never given the opportunity to speak with anyone who is supposed to be one of their "experienced" technicians either. Very bad experience! Run away as fast as you can!!!!!

Absolutely amazing customer service and they were able to retrieve an almost most recent version of a very important file that was lost because of software problems. Apple and other computer solution companies said that it was completely gone. So greatful for their help and could not recommend them more.

I have been working for a company that uses Aardvark for all computer services and I have found the service EXCEPTIONAL. The staff are knowledgeable, they are prompt and if they can't figure out what the problem is initially they work at it. Great service is important and Aardvark works at Great Service.

I experienced a computer crash while recording - which caused a very important session on an external HD to be 'unreadable' - and Aardvark was able to diligently and professionally recover missing data that would have otherwise taken another week of work. From the outset I received professional communication and great clarity from the company on what is and isn't possible. I appreciated their realism but also their empathy for my situation.
