I went to the Rosedale Computer on March 21st, 2019 to get my laptop fixed. I spoke to the shop owner, Kia, who ensured me things will go smoothly and felt very confident that he would be able to fix my laptop. Unfortunately after a few days of waiting he was not able to. At the beginning, before handing over my $2000 gaming laptop, I have stated very clearly that the laptop is very valuable to me and I requested that he take good care of my laptop and he ensured me that he would take care of it like it was his own. After receiving a phone call from him saying he couldn’t fix my laptop, he decided to get his technicians to try with no charge. I was extremely grateful that he was able to do this. I am a student and the laptop is something I really needed as finals were coming. After waiting over a week, he was not able to fix my laptop which I totally respected because at least he tried. After returning my laptop back, I looked over it quickly before exiting the store but when I got home, I found three scratches on the upper case and a small dent on the speaker of my laptop. I quickly called Kia and he said take a picture and come down here to see what he can do. I go back to the store just to have Kia tell me that "it is not a scratch from a technicians point of view." So obviously I got upset because a scratch is a physical score or mark on a surface created by a sharp or pointy object. He asked me how he could help so I asked him if it’s possible to replace the upper case that had been damaged in his shop. He said it was not possible so I asked what he could do and he said nothing. I don't understand why he would ask what he can do it help if he was going to tell me nothing could be done. When I brought it to his store I expected it to be returned in the same condition, not scratched. At the end of the conversation, I said I was not happy with the service provided and that I was going to write a review. Kia took out his phone and started recording me without my permission. I would not recommend this place due to the poor service that I received and lack of professionalism, unless of course you want to be randomly recorded without consent. Response back to Kia: June, 22, 2019 Im sorry but let me refresh your mind and correct you properly. For starters, I specifically stated my problem to you and you didn’t mind helping fixing my laptop and respect my decision whatsoever, secondly, it was less than 24 HOURS after I picked up my laptop complaining to you about my laptop being vandalized, thirdly, I didn’t show you one scratch, you are referring to the longest scratch on my upper case only but including multiple scratches made, fourthly, I really appreciate your time and effort fixing my laptop but I stated from the VERY FIRST START OF THAT DAY, my laptop is a valuable property of mine and I hate it would be scratched or dent and finally, please do not twist my words as I didn’t threaten you, I stated a honest opinion, I am not happy with your service and would share a negative review about my experience. I understand you have been in business for 22 years but that doesn’t defend the fact you vandalized my property. To all customers, if you have a valuable laptop you don’t want to risk being vandalized, I suggest you not go to him as he does not commit to his own words as a business owner.

I was sold a Mac Pro charging cable for nearly 100 dollars on the premise that it is a legitimate Appke product, but when it stopped charging less than 3 months later I discovered that the label was fake and it was a cheap chinese knockoff selling for 15 dollars on Amazon. Though the owner was very polite and friendly I must warn any readers that they should be careful about purchases. Edit: The owner was kind enough to offer me a replacement cable by the same company and the two lasted just over 6 months, I simply expected a charger to last longer. The owner was very understanding.

Problem: Desktop could not start up, power light lit up but nothing shows up on screen Rosedale Computers diagnosis: The CPU, motherboard and power supply were all damaged and that they can replace/repair those parts for $860 ($250 labor). How it was fixed: My friend took a look at it. He replaced the CPU heat sink ($46 on amazon), bent a few pins around the CPU socket and it started up just fine. He mentioned that the power supply looked sketchy and made recommendations for a new one at around $110. The owner has subsequently called after my bad review and offered a refund, which I did not accept. But goodwill was demonstrated and I have subsequently amended my review.

Honest & Resourceful - Kia is one of the few honest business people in sketchy world of computer repairs and upgrades. He is also resourceful, being able to find an obscure 1920x1200 LCD for my ThinkPad laptop that others either denied the existence of, or made no effort to find. Kia sourced the display, had it shipped from California to Toronto, and installed in my computer within 24 hours. I will not look elsewhere for repairs, upgrades, parts or new ThinkPad computers in the future. An A+++ for Rosedale Computers!

I had a laptop with a broken hinge and screen, and they did a great repair job here. It was done much faster than the estimate given on the phone - I was given a loaner laptop free of charge to use while it was being fixed, but it was done so quickly I didn't end up needing it. I was given the option of two types of repair - a longer, pricier one that would leave the laptop cosmetically intact, and a quicker, cheaper option that would show a couple bolts. I chose the latter and am very happy with the results! I was worried it might be a bit expensive given the location, but I called around to a couple places and this was actually the most reasonably priced.

Genius!!! Instead of having to buy a new $2000 computer, Kia Naderi of Rosedale computers replaced the hard drive on my existing iMac desktop which is still running Snow Leopard 10.6.8...Cost me $268.50 which included all tax & labour & diagnostics! Yay! So grateful...I have kept this older Mac because the iPhoto program has a very powerful editor which I used to develop a way to do your own diagnostic imaging to see if there is cancer in a tumour...Retroloading software etcetera can be a complex procedure, but Rosedale computers did the whole job in such a very short time, & wow came home plugged it in & it just WORKS!!! I feel so much better, repairing something, rather than constantly buying brand new...I love how the owner considered all issues before starting work...Regular calls were made to me to tell me how & when & how much or whatever I needed so I didn't worry...I am thrilled! Thank you so much! Totally recommend! & there was absolutely no hard sell of anything, quite the opposite...Blessings...

Rosedale computers is THE place to go when in need of a life savior for your Mac. Mine has been in serious trouble twice and Kia, the owner, fixed my Mac efficanly, promptly and under a reasonble price. One time I thought I had lost my Mac and my data forever, but he made it; and now he changed the battery and got back to me in less than two hours. Utterly profesional and a great guy!

I brought my MacBook to Rosedale Computers to replace my keyboard. I was quoted $220 to replace the keyboard, but discovered my battery was swollen and it needed to be replace also. I was quoted $400 for both jobs and a 1 to 2 day turnaround. I specified that I needed the replacements done in 2 days at most before I agreed to anything, and the owner assured me it would be done. I called in the next day with no real expectations to see if my MacBook was ready and was told store did not have a battery on hand and the job would now take 7 to 10 days. I informed the owner I did not have 7 to 10 days for my laptop to be out of commission, and the owner offered to replace the keyboard alone by the following day. However, since my battery was swollen, my MacBook case could no longer be closed without removing the battery completely (I had not agreed to the separation of the case until after I was guaranteed a 1-2 day turn around). So whether I replaced the keyboard, I was now left with a laptop that was significantly less useful than if I had never entered this store to begin with … all because its owner overestimate his abilities. I initially agreed to only replace the keyboard and hung up the phone, but I called back immediately after to cancel; I felt I could no longer trust his reliability; "the following day" could become the day after … or the week after. I returned to the store and very simply asked for my laptop so that I could just go to the Apple Store and deal with everything there. Probably out of desperation to keep a sale, he lied and told me Apple would not repair products older than 3 years old. (My laptop was just over 5 years old, but it had only been 4 years since its version had been discontinued. Apple repairs products up to 5 years after they’ve been discontinued.) I was too annoyed to argue, and asked for my laptop again. He brought my laptop and my swollen battery to the front desk and set the battery on the table. After screwing the laptop’s case together again, he handed me my computer AND the battery and watched me put BOTH in my back pack and leave the store. At the Apple Store (Eaton Centre), I showed them the operation-turned-massacre. The gentleman helping me quickly informed me that my Macbook’s version’s battery was NOT meant to be removed from the laptop (a swollen one no less) and that I had been carrying the equivalent of a BOMB on my back. If the battery had been punctured, it could have exploded and caused a serious fire. The gentleman helping me rushed to the back to grab some gloves and some kind of fire proof wool to safely handle and dispose of the swollen battery. …And the owner of Rosedale Computers let me leave with that thing on my back. And if putting my health and safety at risk wasn’t bad enough, I also discovered that the keyboard and the battery (and the trackpad) are a single unit Rosedale Computers was trying to charge me two separate jobs to replace. Apple’s quote for the job was $259 to replace the keyboard and battery compared to Rosedale, who quoted me $220 to replace just the keyboard and the $400 to replace the keyboard and battery. So in short, it is obvious by these reviews that things go well for the vast majority of people who use Rosedale Computers. But my experience shows that if things go wrong, they can go very, very wrong. If you have an Apple product, just go to Apple first; their consult is thorough and free, they're professional and honest, and apparently, not even that expensive.

2 years ago I had brought Kia my pc to look at, as it wasn't booting up properly and I wasn't equipped to handle the problem. In fact I had no clue what was wrong with it. Kia quickly found the issue and replaced the motherboard (which was the culprit) and the pc worked even better than at had before the problem. He had plenty of opportunity to take advantage of me, but he didn't. He was honest and only did the repair that needed doing. Recently I got him to build me a high-end pc, and after having tested it for about 2 weeks, I can say that it's working great. I'm very happy with the service I received.

I took my computer in because it was randomly locking up, rebooting or giving me BSOD. I tried a bunch of things but nothing worked, so I thought it was either the motherboard or the video card. Kia checked inside and found all it needed was a good cleaning (I have a dog) and a BIOS update. He was right - my computer has been completely stable ever since. Let me be clear here - I had NO idea what was wrong - he COULD have easily scammed by by saying it was the motherboard or something, but he didn't because that wouldn't be honest. Kia is honest, competent and has very reasonable prices. What more could you want? When was the last time you took your car in because of some strange noise and the mechanic looked under the hood and said - "Hey, you just need some WD40"? Exactly!

Great Service from Kia! He cares so much about the installation. He takes the time to make sure all is right. I had a cooling problem and bought a liquid cooler. Funny enough he had a case that has proper mounts for the water cooler. Put the computer through lots of stress tests. All Good. All my wiring in my desktop was clean and so organized. I took my PC to Rosedale after crisis meltdown of the hard drive. I had eight years of work on it -- no, much of it was stupidly not backed up -- including three completed novels and three in progress, as well as notes and letters and photographs from around the world. I already had an estimate of $1700 from a group of geeks -- and even then they couldn't guarantee full recovery. Pure scare tactics complete with bad attitude. I found Rosedale through a little research and took the computer in. Kia not only replaced the hard drive and updated everything, he also spent days recovering ALL the data and photographs. The cost: a quarter of what the chain computer geeks estimated. I don't recommend businesses on line, ever, but this experience is one I want to share. Lee Lamothe

If you want to support a local business, experience quality service and fair pricing go to this place! I am currently virtually teaching my students and I accidentally spilled hot tea on my laptop. The keys were damaged and the lap top itself was malfunctioning. I went to this place after looking at the reviews and I wanted to spend my money supporting local, rather then going to the best buy geek squad. I am glad I did! Kia was very attentive and understood how desperate I was to have this fixed. He repaired the lap top system very quick and gave me a replacement keyboard as I wait for the replacement parts.
