Customer service was non-existent. Upon arriving, I... -tried out 6-8 Taylor Guitars -looked at guitar accessories -checked out brass instruments Employees seemed interested in talking to each other as they didn't say a word to me or anyone else around... not even an acknowledgement. As a visitor to the province, we travelled an hour to check out a couple of places in Saint John... one of them being this store just to check out the selection of guitars.

Absolutely phenominal customer service! I had to buy something and get it shipped to Vancouver, BC. Even though I was a customer in another province, and the webstore said "pick up in store only", the lovely people here managed to package a 10lbs instrument and send it over safely and securely. Thanks Keith and the L&M team! (They are very busy, working 6 days a week! but anyone who's worked CS before knows this is fabulous service despite the circumstances.)

I've been to a lot of Long & Mcquades locations. This one is by far the weirdest, which is good. You've got to go on a bit of a treasure hunt to find it, but when you go through the door, it's like hidden treasure. Looks totally different then the rest of the building. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, good inventory, orders can get you pretty much anything you could need. I've asked for some pretty out there stuff, and they managed to get it. Rental prices really can't be beat, financing is extremely fair, layaways are doable. You can always sit down and try something out, but make sure to be respectful.

I custom ordered a mandolin case to ship a mandolin to my brother out west. There was a $50 non refundable deposit (understandable) however Covid happened and the shipping was delayed for over 6 month. It was supposed to be 5-10 days. By that time my brother had already made other shipping arrangements. I went in today to inquire as to whether or not the deposit could just be used towards another purchase as obviously a 6 month wait is way too long for a fancy shipping box however I was told that “non refundable “ is non refundable. I’m a musician and a DJ, my parents, siblings, and our children are also musicians. 3 of us have dumped over $10,000 on drum kits alone at Long and McQuade and that’s the tip of the iceberg in our purchases. I didn’t even want a refund. I wanted to make a purchase. I need a new mixing board. My last Mackie board I purchased is being used with my gear in NS. I’ll buy my one for the PEI events somewhere other than Long and McQuade.

I paid for something on finance putting down a deposit of several hundred dollars and filled out an entire contract only to be given a half empty reason I could only finance the tax, AFTER everything had been agreed to. The excuse was apparently a made-up policy as I researched on the website and referenced several people who have been to the store. It's a real shame my first experience trying to buy music equipment and I won't be back.

This is the all time best music store one could ever possibly need! I have just very recently ordered a guitar through long and mcquade, and I was worried about purchasing my new ibanez rga axion label, but chris and the guys were absolutely awesome, the only painful part of the whole deal was waiting the few days for my guitar to comelol. A huge thanks to all the guys at long and mcquade, and a special mention to chris, thank you for your help chris this guitar is the best I've ever owned the fan frets and multiscale is amazing!!! I highly recommend this store with this group of guys to anyone!! I will never shop for my guitar stuff anywhere else but here. Hell yes 5 stars from me

I ordered a guitar case for a Gretsch, online, pick up at Charlottetown store. online warehouse showed 3 in stock in warehouse. I emailed the store three days after placing the order asking for an estimate on delivery time. Told via email; none in stock, supplier in California. time before ordering, aprox 3 weeks delivery expected to store, 3rd week in July "hope this helps" was the sign off in the email. Customer service in store needs to redefine the word -help- I could have purchased this case at a lower price point online but was willing to pay extra for efficiency and to buy local. unimpressive.

All of the staff members are always friendly and knowledgeable. If one person doesn't have an answer they will ask someone else who does. They work well as a team to make sure you get the information you need to make the right decisions on your purchase. I've learned a lot by going there, many times without buying anything. Although I make up for those trips by splurging on other trips. Good selection of guitars on the wall too. Always catches my attention every time I walk in! Great rental options too! Very affordable way to try out equipment before you buy! I tried out a Marshall Amp one time for a month. Rental cost me about $24 for the month and when I bought it I even got about 60% of the rental fee back.
