I have used their services twice this year for repairing my laptop. Charles and his team are always very professional. They will check your computer, conduct a diagnosis, and give you a quote before they proceed with the repair. I find that to be the best way to go about repairing a computer. Their price is always very competitive compare with other computer repair show in downtown Ottawa. I highly recommend their service.

Could not be happier with the service received with Snappy Techs. Found them by just googling the specific issue I was having. Since then, I've gone to them with several different issues (of varying difficulty) and have always received fantastic results. First major issue I had them fix, Charles noticed where the source of the issue was and installed a new (way better) program to use instead that would prevent having the issue arise in the future. Their prices are really fair and they even picked up and dropped off my computer! I would recommend Snappy Techs to anyone.

Horrible service. The employee and manager doesn't help at all! We sent the laptop there for more than two months and they couldn't fix it and give us lots of excuse. Moreover, they even break the keyboard which was under perfect condition before and don't admit it. They lost my charger of laptop (manager told me they find it Toroto finnally and will send it back to us ASAP???) but still charge me $75 for service fee??? WTH...

Not happy. Came in to clean up my key board after a spill, paid over $200 for nothing. Had to go elsewhere to actually get it fixed. Somehow, after their "repairs", keyboard worked worse than before. Several other damages to computer as well, such as not working USB ports. Long story short: high price, terrible service. Do not recommend.

If you're on uOttawa campus, it's worth going here rather than CampusTec. Laptop screen replacement was less expensive than the on-campus place, and they were able to order the screen, call me when it got in, and only had to keep my laptop in-store for a couple hours.

I went to this place to get my screen replaced on the 6th of February. The technician looked at my screen and told me that I needed to replace it to fix the crack. He told me that the price would be 700$ for that service and I agreed to give them my computer. I picked up my computer on the 11th of February and was satisfied with the service. However, on the morning of the 14th, I opened my computer, 3 days after it was "supposed to be fixed" and. there was a crack on a different spot (the far left side of my screen was completely black). Being told that I had a warranty on my computer, the technician just completely blame the crack on me and said they couldn't do anything to fix it. After coming out of the store clearly angry, the owner called to try to fix it by telling me I had to pay an extra 400. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS!

Earlier this past June, I brought two of my desktop PC's into Snappy Techs for repairs. One of which was an older machine running XP which I had a sentimental attachment to, while the other was a relatively newer machine running Windows 7. Both of which had stopped functioning correctly due to a recent power surge I experienced which damaged the power supply of one, while frying the hard drive of the other. Within a week, I received both my machines fully functional and running better than they had since the last time I remember using them. Charles, the technician who worked on my machine was outstanding. I feel that he went above and beyond to make sure my two computers worked great and that I left Snappy Tech a totally satisfied customer. Needless to say, as I'm writing this review, my computers are running perfectly. The data on my older machine, which meant the world to me, came back fully intact and running exceptionally smoothly. Thanks Charles for your professionalism and hard work. You've earned my trust.

I went to SnappyTechs to get my laptop screen fixed. Overall I was quite satisfied with the service. There was some initial confusion regarding what had to be done and the pricing, since I was communicating with two different people, this also led to some initial delays. However, once that was resolved the service was quite prompt. Within a week of the part arriving, the laptop was ready to be picked up. The price for the repairs was more than what we had initially agreed to, as upon further inspection the situation was more complicated than simply swapping out a new screen. However, Charles was able to provide a substantial discount on the cost of those further repairs. Additionally, due to unrelated cirucmstances I was quite strapped for cash at the time of pickup. Charles was quite accomodating, and agreed to accept payment for the initially agreed upon price (he was actually willing to take substantially less), with the remaining to be paid in a few weeks (when circumstances should have changed). All in all, good service. That said, I would recommend that potential customers stick to using a single employee, so as to avoid those initial delays.

Amazing customer service! Went to get my laptop fixed up for overheating/crashing issues, the tech guy told me exactly what to expect in terms of timing and pricing in the event that the fan needed replacing. Told me he'd phone me in the evening of the same day to give me an update, which he did. The next day, got me a replacement fan from another shop + fixed up the motherboard + replaced thermal paste, and my computer was ready for pick up in the evening. Cost was reasonable. Laptop is running smoothly. TLDR: Fast and reliable - highly recommend.

Good guys, great experience. Came in to have a Macbook power button and keyboard button replaced, they said it could be done fairly quickly. Took them only a few days, way less than expected. They have a good online check-in system that shows you the progress of their repair, and with the invoice of how much it would be. Got the Macbook back looking and working better than before. Will be coming back if I need something else repaired!

Previously, we received great service from a gentleman who we believe to be the owner. We had our computer repaired by him and were so pleased with his service we intended to go back for all our repairs! However we went in today and received very different service. The young man working would barely touch our phone, saying that merely handling the phone to give us a quote would cost us 60$. We made it clear that we did not want him to fix anything for free, but that we did not even know exactly why our phone was not working, and that we would need assistance with understanding what exactly was wrong with the phone, before we could ask him to fix it...We asked when the manager would be in so that maybe he could help us instead, but he wouldn't give us a clear answer for that either. If you need a repair done to your phone, you can go to probably any other repair shop, for example The Mobile Klinik at Saint Laurent Centre, and have it assessed for free. In some cases, in a minute! So unfortunately, maybe try there instead :)

Took a liquid damaged Macbook Pro and they repaired it! I was really happy with the service and the price. The first place I went to was the 'authorized' Apple repair centre on Bank. That guy said he couldn't fix it because he didn't have a $10,000 microscope. Need a Macbook, laptop repaired in Ottawa then definitely try Snappy on Rideau Street.

I have very bad experience with them. Most of the 5 ratings are their own account. I told them the exact fault even then they charge me $40 and they are not telling you about this at the beginning. They changed parts in my laptop as well when I brought it to home and checked it. They are looters. It is better to give your laptop to a donkey at least donkey will not cheat you. This is my best suggestion.

I found this business as one of the top reviewed on Google, so decided to give it a visit after my phone randomly started to restart itself. Many clients from different backgrounds came in to get their devices checked out, and the reception area was relaxed. The service time to get my phone back was between 2-5 business days so I was very relieved (I had to go back a 2nd time for a separate issue).The repair price is also very reasonable for how quick and how complex each issue is. I also really appreciated that they hire co-op students too, to give them the training, and the one I met was really nice and relaxed. Snappy Techs is an honest business that really shows they know what they're doing, are honest and non-judgemental when dealing with their clients about all possible solutions. I would go back again without question for any future issues, but so far everything has been back to normal. I also brought my dad's phone in for repair, so that was a plus. Thank you so much again to Charles and the team, for making me feel happy to come in! :) Tl:dr: Great staff, really care and understand your problems, and service time is pretty fast. Went for what I thought was a pretty basic upgrade for my MacBook Pro. Very friendly staff but not everyone is on the same page and things seem slightly disorganized. The estimated cost was not what I ended up paying...they have me 15% of labour but this came out to only $6-9 on a $200 bill.

TL;DR : Charles is great, Snappy Techs offers punctual service that exceeds expectations. First off Charles was awesome, he was a really nice and honest guy and it was a pleasure working with him. I brought my computer in on a Monday and they told me it would be ready by Wednesday. I was sceptical at first because I figured the hard drive was done for because it wouldn't even boot to the login screen and it didn't sound like it was spinning on the inside of my computer. Wednesday comes around and not only did they recover my data but also fixed my computer. Turns out my windows OS had corrupted itself and they reinstalled and formatted the computer to fix it. They even cleaned out my dusty old computer for free. Definitely check them out I had a great experience.

I brought my MacBook Pro in for a repair because it was starting to fail, and I wanted to see if there was anything that could be done instead of going to Apple and hearing the usual "It would be cheaper to just buy a new one" nonsense. I was worried bringing it in because I'm not the most trusting person, but the reviews were great and Charles seemed so knowledgable and trustworthy. He very quickly gave me some potential issues and how to fix them over the phone, and when I came in he was able to narrow it down and very accurately give me a price. I left my laptop over night with the promise of it being done in a day or two, and he had it done for me less than 12 hours later the next morning. He sent frequent updates along the way so there were no surprises for me, and answered every question I had. Picked it up for $202.38, and it runs again as if it were fresh out the box! Definitely has my business for future tech related issues.

I have high internet speed and tested it frequently so I knew it had nothing to do with the connection. This was detrimental to my work. HORRIBLE CLIENT SERVICE. Cracked screen - after the "repairs" the screen was still cracked and even worse than before, at a different spot, taking up more screen surface. Called to get more information and was told that it was impossible that it was their fault because they've been in business for so long and would not make such a mistake. To make matters worse, was told that despite paying 700$ initially, which included a $200 six-month warranty, they offered no solution other than suggesting they replace the screen again for an additional $400. Just to repeat: this company is trying to charge $1,100 for a faulty screen, which they are trying to blame on the client. This is almost equivalent to the price of a new MacBook. Incredibly disappointed in this service.

Another company wanted to charge me the same just to back up my data without fixing my computer. Now my computer can probably serve for another year or two before I upgrade. They were responsive enough and seemed like a good deal. They were charged with replacing my screen because of a green screen problem... Well all they seemed to do was clean my keyboard because the screen still has the issue. I have contacted them but never got a reply. So that was 500 down the drain

My computer told me to download Windows 10, and when I did, it did not effectively start up. I came to Snappy Techs because Best Buy told me they could only transfer my data to a hard drive for $100 (and not fix my laptop). I was not ready to purchase a new laptop so I contacted Snappy Techs. Snappy Techs said they could save my data and fix my laptop for $129. I accepted. I brought it to them. Suddenly, I was told by Snappy Techs I needed a new hard drive (I am not sure I did, because nothing has really changed in terms of processing speed as he told me it would), so that added to the cost. By the time it was all said and done, it cost me $300. I picked up my computer, but they did not tell me I would have to re-install my printer, internet connection, and find my personal screen saver photo again (which was not saved). I got very frustrated with the continuous aggressive reply from Snappy Techs, "that is not our problem", so I used a profanity and gave up on my requests for complete service to get my laptop in running order. It took me DAYS to get my computer back in working order, which affected my work. It could have been communicated to me what I would need to do on my own (re-installing internet, printer, etc.), to get my laptop up and running again (I am not a computer expert, which is why I thought I was bringing it to one). Snappy Techs did not know that wireless printers exist, which I found very strange. To this day, about every half hour, my laptop completely turns to black for a few seconds, and every single time, I risk losing what I am working on. Not great customer service. Addition to my review, in response to Snappy Techs below: My payment was NOT late. In case you forget, I had a scheduled flight of which you were aware, the day after I dropped off my computer for repair. You told me that no problem, my laptop would be ready that same afternoon. it was not; but I patiently accepted. Still not having heard from you, I finally called you the hour before I had to leave to catch my flight, and you informed me my laptop would not be ready prior to my departure. Therefore, I had to leave town without it. Difficult as it was to ask someone else to run this errand for me to pick up my laptop (during business hours!), I provided payment at exactly the SAME TIME my "repaired" laptop was received (calling from across the country to provide my credit card number), which was two days after I left town. Had my laptop been ready before my departure, as I was told it would be, payment would have been provided then. Two weeks later, I came home to a "repaired" laptop that took me an additional two days to get up and running. I brought it in to Snappy Tech, and called the following day, to try to resolve the issues I was experiencing. For a long time I was patient, but I finally became stressed and grew very frustrated with the repetitive "it's not our problem" response from Snappy Tech. This whole ordeal negatively affected my opportunity for promotion at work, of which Snappy Tech was also aware, yet obviously apathetic.

I cannot tell you how happy I was with Charles at Snappy. My computer had given me a blue screen when I had a very tight deadline. I found Snappy Techs online and arrived unannounced. Charles had me up and running in two hours. He replaced my Windows 7 operating system with Windows 10 and was able to backup and restore all my material. I feel like my Dell computer is brand new. SCAM! I asked for a quotation on my broken laptop, and for a files recovery (that arrived 5 days late by the way). I ALWAYS said I DID NOT wanted to fix it. When I arrived to pay for the files recovery, Charles told me they fixed my computer for almost $800. Or I pay, or we go to court. I NEVER signed anything, and NEVER said yes to fix it, neither by mail or by the phone. This is BLACKMAILING. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!! EDIT to answer : The price on the bill was $785 so you made a discount of $260, not $425. Moreover, my friend that you had on the phone never told you to fix it. We always JUST asked for a quotation. Should I also say I had to call the police and that your manager blocked my number because she knew you guys were scamming me ? I'll keep thinking you just tried to steal my computer. Don't trust them guys. LAST EDIT : Well, don't make me look like a thief. I wanted to pay for what I asked, not for what you did behind my back. I never allowed you to fix this computer, and as you said, this is not something that we can rollback and bring back as it was. I just believe that you did it because you knew I was leaving the country and I couldn't take you to court. And after I called the police (please, not "we" because you and your manager refused every attempt of talking and agreeing together) , they told me that I had to take you to court because there were proofs that I asked you not to fix it, but as, once again, I'm leaving the country : or I had to pay the bill, or I had to leave my computer. I understand you tried your best to accommodate me, but just assume your mistakes then. I'm just letting the people know about your attempted fraud, breach of trust and unfair practice. No need to answer again and again. Here are the facts.

Wow! Just wow! Brought my laptop in for a hard drive replacement. I left them with a laggy machine with a Windows 8 and came back to a snappy machine with a Windows 10 upgrade along with a yearly subscription of Microsoft Office 2007. All I did was pay for the new hard drive!! Never had service like this before. Turnaround time (for me!): 48 hours.

been there to change a screen, screen was defect and i came to return it with the invoice. He says my phone has a problem then dont want to change the screen even with warranty. I came back because my phone was obviously not the problem. He then agrees to test the screen then he tell me its not the screen he changed and accuses me of changing the screen because of a missing sticker. already paid 104.00$ he want a charge me another screen at his cost another 50$.. the problem he mentioned before is not true and his screen was defect, and I still need to pay. make me wait 2 hours, came 3 time to the store. super bad experience. didn't want to give me a receipt for the new screen. the manager left not caring about my problem. his friend wants to argue with me about the fake screen story and dont want to give receipt. I just left. never again. as a customer i been lied to, accused of returning a fake screen, paid for something 2 times. lost more then 3 hours not including all the drive to ottawa. i mean what can they do more. ah yeah.. argue for not giving me the receipt after he changes. big 0. not recommend. REPLY TO OWNER: YES IT IS THE STORE DOWNSTAIRS. SORRY FOR THIS. HAD THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AT YOUR DOWNSTAIRS NEIGHBOR

Never trust a place where the reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star. Charles is a shady scum bag. He said I could return a charger I purchased within 3-5 business days. When I e-mailed about the return, the company said they only do exchange. I had a friend with me as well, both of us remember him saying yes, I can do returns within 3-5 business days when I asked him. Charles was rude on the phone - he wouldn't let me speak. I asked him to show me where it's written on the website or invoice that there are no returns, and he told me to take it up with 'the company' becuase he doesn't make the rules. I have not been able to find this policy written anywhere. Any business needs to have its rules and policies outlined clearly - this is nonsense and I will make sure I get my $55 back from this horrible business man.

My Macbook air was in horrible shape after spilling wine inside it. Nearly everything inside was messed up, i took it to two places and they couldn’t fix it (apple repair price was $800+). NOT SPAM, REAL PERSON. YOU OWNER JUST TRY TO PLAY TRICKS. WORST service ever. We sent our laptop to fix the screen 2 months ago, didn't hear any replies from them. We called and emailed multiple times but no one replied. So we decided to take our laptop back since they weren't do their job. When we took the laptop back, they didn't fix anything, plus, there are a lot of scratches on the front cover, the back cover is loosing, the keyboards fall off, and they lost our charger. The manager CHARLES lied straight to our face saying that was the original condition when we brought in. I considered my MONEY spent there was doing charity, and I just want to let everyone know that they are DISHONEST, UNRELIABLE, IRRESPONSIBLE TO their clients. WORST SERVICE and WORST MANAGEMENT EVER.

I just moved to Ottawa and needed a computer to job hunt. after looking around at a number of other places in Ottawa I ended up picking this place due to the online reviews. I can honestly say that the gentleman that helped me ( Charles) was very kind and beyond helpful in getting me something that fit my budget. the shop has a no frills kind of vibe but don t let that stop you from getting great help. while i was waiting for a few programs to be installed . other people came in to ask about cell phones and computer parts. I noticed that Charles was quick to offer the lowest cost to there problem ( even recommending other shops in the area that might be better suited to help them with there needs ) . I will be bringing all of my computer needs to this shop from this point on. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews on hear. I'v had a good experience

NOT SPAM, google. The owner wants to erase all the truth. WORST Service!!!!! This is my personal experience. The service is the worst and the manager CHARLES is IMPOLITE. I sent my laptop to Snappy Techs for fixing Beeps and the blank screen issue. The reason why I come to this store because there have 4.3 star on the google. I went to the store on Jan 14th, the employee said that they can fix the problem within two weeks. After that , I never received updated information from them since then, and they are not reachable at all. I had to walk in their store every time I want to check the repairing status. I have been patient enough for waiting them for more than 2 month. Not only they didn't even fixed the original problem, there are further damage on my laptop physically (SCRATCHES, KEYBOARDS FALLING OFF, COVER DOESN'T CLOSE, CHARGER LOST). DON'T EVER GO TO THIS STORE If someone read this review and still want to go to this store, I just want to give some suggestions: WHEN YOU FIX SOMETHING in Snappy techs, TAKE PICTURES of your devices BEFORE YOU LEFT THE STORE. Don't ask me why, cause the manager CHARLES gonna play with you. The First Pictures, I took at home before I went to the store.
