Pleasant people. Convenient location. $150 for basic service diagnosis and virus removal seemed excessive. I make that statement by direct comparison to tech repair shops in San Diego Ca that literally replaced a cracked screen that I incurred during travel - on a while-you-wait basis for $99. Oh well -welcome to Guilford, CT - home of overpriced everything.

I was thrilled with the service and repair I got here, after another company was unable to do so!. I had somehow extracted a roller from my HP printer and it was impossible to put back, even after spending hours with online diagrams. I took the printer to a computer place near me and they were also scratching their heads and unable to get the roller back in place. So I took it to NerdsToGo. They were great! They reassured me they could repair it, even though I hardly believed them after my experience with the other computer place (I learned later it was NOT a piece of cake!) I was able to return for the printer the same day and was so happy. their repair price was very reasonable. I have never had any trouble with my older printer(other than this) and am so happy to be able to keep it! Thanks NerdsToGo!

Although the outcome to my son’s gaming laptop was bad news ; I felt that the staff at Nerds to Go were all very professional , friendly , and went above and beyond by contacting the manufacturer to the gaming laptop and asked if any replacement parts to fix my son’s laptop and unfortunately they said although only a little over a year since purchase that it’s outdated and they can’t provide the part to fix his laptop . Total disappointment which isn’t any reflection of Nerds to Go but the gaming laptop manufacturer which I’ll never buy another product of theirs again! Well where do I start! This company is full of liars... sold me a refurbished laptop, did not give me the CD that goes with it. This is how they get return business because they lie and say laptops or computers don't come with CD. That's not true! If like they saidbwas true then on the computer there would be a icon for it. Also they told me my laptop was new. Nope, it's years old and refurbished. JVR systems in Branford is much more honest, reliable and trustworthy.

Friendly, courteous staff. My main contact was Kyle. He took the time to listen and understand my concerns and the problem I was having with one of my Lap top computers. He explained everything in a manner that I was able to fully understand, which being a senior citizen was important to me. Gave me options and more importantly what his recommendations were. He kept me updated every step of the way for the work that was done. The total cost to get this computer going again was very reasonable for me and talking the weekend out of the equation, the turn around time was 3 days. Note: the morning I went to NerdsToGo I was full of anxieties not knowing what to expect about my computer as well as from them. Kyle turned on the computer right there, did his thing and in less than 10 minutes informed me that the issues with the computer were fixable and really not that serious of an issue. When we went into the Guilford, CT Nerds To Go store Brandy was so knowledgeable and helpful we knew right away we had made the correct decision to use their company. Matthew our "Certified Nerd" who came out to our house, was running Early... and called to see if he could come early. What an unexpected surprise. Most companies run late. Huge shout out to these guys who just saved my butt today big time! I had cracked my screen on an otherwise good 6S iphone. I had them replace it, and then started having other major issues. Phone would shut off and try endlessly rebooting, but failing. I'm an engineer and figured it had to be their work, or the new screen. I started to get frustrated with my experience, but I went back in and calmly explained the problem, left the phone with them for a couple hours. These guys tore the phone apart, did their troubleshooting, and by the time I got back it was fixed! My phone is my lifeline for my job/livelihood, and these guys fixed it, and didn't charge me anything extra. Saved my butt, my phone, my job, and the relationship. Thank you Nerds!

Cheesy service and considerably over-priced. I paid $199 plus tax for a job I believe took no longer than forty minutes. I had been seeking resolution to some MS Office Registry confusion. The job was moved in the right direction, but I had to activate Windows, MS Office apps, and Norton Anti-Virus myself at home. For $199 my CPU should've been all set leaving the shop.

Came here a while back to get my iPod 2nd generation screen replaced, the glass was broken, but the digitizer and everything else worked fine. When I got it back, the glass was fixed, but they had broken the digitizer. The screen was all white and completely unusable. I told them about this, and asked them to fix it and they tried to CHARGE ME $40 FOR IT! Unbelievable, I will never use this service again and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone else!

The only qualm I have was that in the original intake call I was encouraged to bring my computer to the store to address the main issue I described - frequent spontaneous rebooting - which would be very disruptive for me. Fortunately, I insisted on a home visit which seems to have addressed all of the issues without sending the PC to the shop. I am glad I insisted. Even if eventually hardware work proves necessary, it was much more satisfactory to have Marcus here to discuss the possibilities.

I called because Microsoft 10 had automatically downloaded to my computer and it showed that i had no wireless interenet, although when I first came in with the update I was able to use the wireless, and then it cut out and showed my wireless was there but i could not connect. So i called my wireless provider, naturally I had already done the restarting of routers and all that good stuff, EXCEPT restarting the computer, so when I restarted the computer the wireless capability completely went away, it was as if we had never had wireless before. Mind you this is happening at work, where I need to be connected to the internet, so I called Nerds to go at around 11:00am, by the time i gave all my information he told me he had a guy that would call a half hour before he gets here which would be around 12pm, but by that time it was 11:30 and he just said oh well its 11:30, he'll be there around 12pm. Which was perfectly fine. The guy arrived promptly at 12pm, he told me we could try to do it one of two ways, either stick with the upgrade of windows 10 and he could try to get the wireless back, or go back to the windows 8 (i think) that we had. I told him lets try to stick with the upgrade, (why not?). Well, that didn't work, he was able to connect to the wireless but then when he restarted the computer the same thing happened again. So we wound up going back to the old windows I had, he made some adjustments so that upgrades or downloads could not automatically happen they would need my approval. And then at the end took my PC outside and cleaned the whole dusty thing (it was bad, probably hadn't been moved in about 7 years). He was very knowledgeable, let me know step by step what he was doing, explained to me what was going on, and the fact that they were able to get to me with in an hour of me calling just spoke volumes about their customer service.

I bought an old Windows 98 machine with a floppy Drive so it would run a program I had via floppy.
