The casing around my laptop screen busted open a few days ago and I needed it fixed basically as soon as possible since it's all I have for school. These guys had it fixed sturdy as can be (maybe even sturdier than before) for a pretty good price within like, 2 and a half hours. I waited a few days to write this just to make sure the repair actually held together and it's been great. Will definitely come here again if I have the need.

Very reputable, courteous business. My Gateway comp. got blue screen of death and it could not boot up. After long search for trust worthy and highly recommended computer repair shop I found "Forest City Computer Repairs" so off I went with my "sick" computer to see what could be done to remedy the problem and of course, cost of repair played a major part. To my surprise the technician brief me what could be the problem and couple of days later happily I`ve picked it up brought it home, power it up and it was just like new. I went to ForestCity Computers a few months ago because my chromebook wasn't turning on. Even though Al, the owner, said that they wouldn't have a replacement battery, he offered to take a look so I'd at least know what the issue was. After running some tests, he determined that it was my power cord that was faulty. He sold me a replacement for a really reasonable price and only charged me for half his usual labour cost since he didn't spend long with my laptop. As a student, everything he did to drop the final cost for me was really appreciated. On top of that, he was patient and very friendly. Had a major issue with a laptop, the fixed it fast and with great service. Only issue (a big one), they had to reinstall the OS and installed pirated version. Had to re-buy legit version, cost a lot more than the actual repair. UPDATE: Received a call minutes after initial 2-star review from owner who offered to help try to fix the issue. Was not successful with the tools recommended. Ultimately had the bad OS replaced by another company but appreciated the call and felt they genuinely wanted to help.

Recently my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 quickly got a bulge in the screen. Because of all the great reviews, I went to FCCR for the first time. I discovered that the screen is nearly impossible to remove without breaking. The bulge had been caused by the battery actually bulging to the point that it was dangerous to continue using it. Al and Hassan were so helpful. I noticed that they had used computers and after telling Hassan what I required, we quickly narrow the search down to a couple of options. I bought a Lenovo Think Pad that is practically new. It is fast. I love the camera slide-over cover for privacy. I intentionally waited a couple of weeks before writing this review to make sure I had no regrets. And...there are no regrets, only appreciation. Edit: My husband was your client I have this google account for years and the fact that you respond to all negative reviews the same way 'says a lot about you'. Here is my husband's review: I'd like to leave a review for my disappointing experience in 2019. I brought my MacBook that needed its motherboard to be replaced. They told me they can do that and I left it with them. I took it back in 2 days and realized that they put a used motherboard from an older version MacBook. I immediately called them and asked why they did so. They told me that it was a communication error, and apologized, and instead of putting a new motherboard they repaired my old motherboard and put it back. If I was not knowledgeable enough to check that, they would have gone away with what they did. Be very very cautious with this establishment. He also left a review on their FB page and they told that his account and review was fake. They couldn't respond further when I posted the screenshots of my email correspondence with them. These people claims every negative review is fake.So pathetic...

Last week my computer crashed. I had it diagnosed by apple and they told me it was my hard drive. I replaced my hard drive myself, however my computer was still not working! My sister and father recommended me to go to ForestCity Computer Repairs. Al was there to greet me right at 10AM. He was able to diagnose the problem with my macbook pro within seconds. The data hard drive cable was replaced and computer reprogrammed within minutes. Al is a very genuine and professional individual. You can tell he cares about his business as well as his customers. This is a very efficient and generous business model. I'm a student at UWO, and I have purchased equipment from ForestCity in the past. When I had forgotten my laptop charger in Toronto, they offered to charge my laptop for me so I could complete an assignment while I waited for my friend to mail my charger. Went in to ForestCity Computer Repair to look at used laptops. I noticed that they currently have a 4.8 * review rating on google and knew this would be the first place to stop. I was greeted and offered help as soon as I walked into the door by a young man. My first thought was “wow, no wonder they have such amazing google reviews”. He asked what I was looking for, and I let him know I was shopping for a gaming laptop. He brought me over to an Acer laptop that was labelled as having an i7-8750 CPU, 256GB SSD, 1TB HD, 16GB RAM, with a GTX 960 all for $1000. Now, the price seemed a little higher than I was expecting, but with all of that in it, the price was pretty good. An older man walked up and said “Someone probably bought it brand new for the girlfriend and they never used it, new it’s probably worth $1600-$1800”. That is definitely not true. So the young man offered to power it up for me, and after finding a compatible cable to charge it, turned it on. We then looked at the system information and the CPU was actually a much lower model. Not an issue, he offered to either adjust the price a bit or install the one labelled. He let me play around with it a bit. After running a FPS test, and verifying that it did have a GTX 960 in it, I decided to look at the rest of the specs. In the storage settings it only labelled the 256 GB SSD. (I didn’t actually confirm it was an SSD, only that the size was correct). Though there was no 1TB hard drive in it. This with the CPU being worse than advertised was enough for me to walk out. I am only writing this review because I was sold on this place before walking in, because of the google reviews. My error was that I did not look at the negative ones as well. I really hope people come into this shop and really look into the product their buying. This “$1000 gaming laptop” was probably closer worth $500 used, and if I didn’t know how to look at a computers components through settings, I could have been out a lot of money. I’m also using an alternative account, because the owner gets very angry at people who leave bad reviews, and even looks into the posters when they use their real name. He will label this as fake, but I need to protect myself as well. Future customers be weary and cautious when buying from here, and do your homework first!

I was told that my broken laptop key may not be repairable and given a quote. I took it in and he did take a look and one piece was broken - but he did his best to put it back on. Had a problem with my PC crackling. I had a feeling it was the PSU so I took it to Forest City Computers. Al and his father are amazing, they look at it for free and did not charge me until they were certain as to what was causing the noise. They contacted me frequently to keep me up to date on what was happening. They installed a new power supply for me, which ended up fixing the noise. As I was told after my computer was repaired the operating system corrupted. Forrest City got my laptop working and saved all my files and programs. They even got the laptop touch pad working correctly like it hadn't in a couple years. It was quick, efficient, and done the same day. Back about a year ago they got my laptop fan replaced and it still works great. Another same day repair. I love the upfront quote and communication they consistently use. 5/5 I'll go there for my computer needs again!

I was right in the mists of finishing up a project for work and my laptop's HD dies. I went and bought a replacement, asked how to install the operating system .. they said it's simple! .. well of course, it's never as simple as people say.. Called Apple Care, and even though they couldn't solve my issue - they're reluctance to give-up is appreciated - an hour and a half on the phone. But effort doesn't make my laptop come back to life. Very disappointed I took in my computer and was told i needed a new hard drive and keyboard that would cost $400 when taking it home to decided wether to go ahead or not I tested my hard drive in a separate mac it worked... Without further investigation this led me to opt out of going with ForestCity repairs... I AM a real person I DO attend Western University my FULL name is Gabriella for those who don't know Gabi is typically short for this First of all it doesnt take a computer technician to unscrew approx 10 screws to access the inner hard drive, and with a pair of glasses tools this is possible for anyone as long as you have another mac to test your hard drive... Also with my sister's boyfriend on the London Volunteer Robotics team after winning the world championship in his highschool glory days who managed to advise me as well along with a couple youtube videos. I came to Forest City in a panic for a quick fix since I DO NOT HAVE ANY EXTRA PARTS, and as stated didnt have time to order new pieces with my midterm the next day. Very disappointing that you would reply to a review in such an angry manner instead of sympathizing the situation for you lost customers... hope everyone sees this before bringing it there ... the computer technicians name is AL if youre wondering And to update i took my computer to apple where they ran a free diagnostic and ONLY the power button is broken s my $400 fix according to Al turned into a $30 fix! I took my laptop for repair to forrestcity computers 2 months ago and they gave me an approximate charge of $350 and told me it will be delivered within 2 weeks. as they need to send it to somewhere else for the repair. So i took it back with me. Actually by looking into the google reviews i thought they did their repairs well and for cheap rates and i took it back to them yesterday. This time i told them that about my visit i did 2 months ago and about the estimate charge they said that day. Today he texted me and said my Laptop is ready. It was just a small repair to the mother board and the charged me with $350!!!!!!! They charged me $350 only because i told them about the estimate charge which they gave me 2 months back. Really expensive. I agree they have a fast service but they will charge you high. I will suggest not to go to this shop again.

Well, What would I say? I just brought my gaming laptop to their store 2 days ago. My laptop was diagnosed with broken LED screen by bestbuy and they charged my $650 to fix my screen and it is gonna took me 2 weeks to fix it. However, I decided to bring it to Forest City Computer they have done such a great job, they fix my computer in 1 day with $325. The store atmosphere is friendly. I strongly recommend people in London area come to this store and get all the jobs done within a timely fashion. It does not need to be a huge store to have a great quality!

I feel like finding a computer store you can trust is like trying to find a mechanic you can trust... You're probably there because you know nothing about what you're trying to get fixed and how convenient, because they can tell you anything and charge you whatever. Four years ago I walked into this store when I was still in university and hardly had a dime to my name. My laptop was broken and I desperately needed it fixed for school. I had gone to the Apple store and I was told it would be $1200 + to fix my Macbook at Apple. I went to two other shops before this and they both quoted me a $600 + repair and said it would take a week. The reason they couldn't fix my asus g75vw was that I had given it for repair in Edmonton (Uniway computers...just a warning to all whos visiting edmonton) and the shop there took out the graphic card from my laptop and various other parts... hence being unsure I was adviced to send it to asus for repair. ** Edited ** Although my initial experience with ForestCity Computers was not the best, they contacted me a few days ago and more than made things right. Al (owner or manager) called me to follow up on my poor experience and to find out where they went wrong and how they might improve in the future. I was provided with a refund for the data recovery as Al explained that I paid for a service that I did not receive. I was and continue to be so impressed with the level of follow through and commitment that was shown by Al at Forest City. While my experience wasn't great back in February they have now more than made up for this, and I would have no hesitation in returning in the future. Few businesses these days display this level of customer service! Sad to say that I did not have a great experience with Forest City Computers. Outstanding google reviews, and yet my experience was completely different. I took my laptop into them in February, and from the start communication was poor. I had to initiate contact numerous times to find out if they had any success, and even though I was told it would be a day or two it was almost a week before I had my computer back. They were unable to fix anything, and based on how busy they were I had the suspicion that they didn't even give it a look (a company I took the same laptop to afterwards managed to get the problem fixed in a matter of hours). They did ask if I wanted my data recovered, which I went ahead with. Nearly $200 later and they only managed to save 136 pieces of data, but were not upfront about this. I was very disappointed to say the least. If I were to do it again I would ask them to be very clear about 1. their timelines and when I can expect to hear back from them 2. their prices and what I can expect from a data recovery. My experience is likely based on the fact that they were so busy, and that not being a computer person I didn't ask any of the right questions. I hope your experience is better!

Al is a gem. I took my computer in on a Saturday to transfer data, he transferred the data overnight and then made an effort to come in on his day off (Sunday) to give me the hard drive. When I forgot to ask him to transfer a particular folder he told me to come right in and he'd add it over the same day at no charge. You get quality service from a guy who knows what he's doing and actually cares about you and your computer at a cheaper price than the big box stores. I'd recommend this business to my grandma. I’m typing this review from my newly refurbished 2010 laptop that hadn’t worked since 2015. In just over 24 hours, Hassan worked his magic and now it’s working perfectly! He went above and beyond to ensure I was thrilled with the end result. All my data was salvaged and reloaded to my newly installed Windows 10 hard drive. Hassan even took the time to show this “senior” how to navigate the new operating system. The charges were more than fair, especially when he discovered more roadblocks than he bargained for. They did me a lot of favours, tossed in a lot of freebies and were really helpful when I needed some advice on setting up dual monitors. I had a few issues figuring out Windows 10 having been with Windows 7 Home Premium for several years. The sleep thing didn't work well never reconnecting to the Internet. I tried a few things from viewing youtube and made it worse. I had to go back to FCCR to get it adjusted. He took care of it for me. But never really explained what he did to do so. I looked at the power settings when i got home with the machine. I am thinking it will continue to work so I rate the man a Professional in what he does and I appreciated that about him. He could use some lessons in proper customer etiquette though lol

The service was really top notch, I was in a state of a panic yesterday when resizing the partition for MAC HD( made it smaller as she needed more space for windows) on my girlfriends' $3000 imac, everything went from bad to worse when the bootcamp partition became unbootable and I somehow deleted the MAC HD hard drive when messing around with gdisk. I brought the computer in hoping they could fix it on the same day before my girlfriend got home to do work on her computer. She came home before the imac was fixed unfortunately and was furious with me and almost broke up with me, but we came to an agreement that if they didn't get the computer fixed by 12am midnight, she would break up with me. The owner Al and his team knew about my predicament and was very supportive. He got his technician to work on the computer overtime, and was eventually done late that night. Al came in to open the store at 11pm just for us to pick up the computer. Not only do they fix computers, but also fix relationships! Overall, great customer service and we will definitely continue to use them for future repairs! Very very happy!

However, after posting my review, the owner actually called me to say that he would rectify the situation. He said it wasn't how they did business and they were very reliable. Since Covid-19 hit, I've had to teach my private music students online, so I needed to use my iMac camera. I discovered the camera to be intermittently faulty. At Forest City Computers, we had some difficulties remedying this. Without getting into details, my final $250 bill plus tax which might have been $450 was refunded. Allan the owner, was not hesitant at all to reimburse me because it was reasonable to do this. Not only that, in my telling him in person I had lost sleep about confronting him about a refund, he actually tried to make me feel better and said, "I'm always happy to refund someone." and "Don't worry about it. Life is too short." To my way of thinking, when we need to work with business people, particularly in fields we have limited technical knowledge, it's paramount that we can trust them. I know you can trust this company. I read all of the Forest City Computers reviews, more than once actually and Allan's replies. So, I wondered about the small number of negative ones. I wondered about the accuracy of complaints, especially since I am not computer savvy. And I wondered if some people were actually refunded money on occasion. Well, now I know he does refund and without malice. I do have a suggestion for people who aren't happy with this company. Talk to the owner in person. I suspect some will write a negative review without expressing concerns to Allen in person. I know for a fact that if you have a reasonable complaint, talk to him. At 73 years of age, I've come to be able to recognize and really value honesty. It's everything. And nobody is perfect. I write to let readers know that when you need to work with Forest City Computers, you can trust the service because the owner is honest, reasonable and I know, without a doubt, a really good man. I was in London for a two week business trip and during the 1st week of my visit my tablet/laptop was acting up both at my rental unit and the business location I was at; with my laptop being the main source of connectivity to my office I was desperate to make sure it is functioning properly. Forest city Sucks

Took my computer in to fix. Told me it was thermal paste without even bench testing it. $160. Told me it would be ready next day. Liar Picked it up after having it for 13 days without a phone call saying it was ready. Turn it on and it has the same issue. Took it back. Said he stressed tested it on YouTube and it worked fine. Not a good way to stress test it. Maybe if you listened to the customer you could of fixed it. Told me to come back later and they will have a gamer kid look at it. Because he couldn’t. Finally came back and they couldn’t fix it. Old guy was Terrible to deal with. Said most computers are water damaged or need thermal paste. Liar liar pants on fire. DO NOT GET COMPUTER REPAIRED HERE. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. COULDNT REPAIR.

Absolutely Amazing guys, I had spilled water on my macbook air, I went to the Apple store at Masonvile, those guys wasted my one week and then told me that your Mac is garbage. I did some research and found this store, I went there because it had excellent google review. My experience with this store was really good. There were was an ongoing issue with my Macbook, I went there about 2 times, this guy picked up my Mac 4-5 times from my residence and dropped it back, since I am a first year student and going back and forth is really tedious and time consuming. He even let me borrow his own Mac for quite a time. These guys really care about you. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Forest City is the place to go for your computer needs. My audio was not working on my laptop. I called them up to find that a diagnostic was free! What? $60 at Best Buy and weeks before having it back and Canada Computers was similar. Al was very professional and friendly. I dropped off my computer at 4 pm and got a call late the next morning. Talk about fast. The total price was reasonable, and quick service with a smile. I had some other questions about a desk top computer for my kids. He was friendly and supportive. Terrible experience with them. Took the laptop in to be cleaned, was told that system files were corrupt and needed to reinstall OS... they did that then cleaned the laptop (did a good job cleaning it). I was promised one day, it took them 4 days to do it. They claimed they tested the laptop and it stopped freezing - but it didn't. I shouldn't take away from the people who work there though, they were very nice, just can't speak for the workmanship my two-cents to the business is 1- get the timeline right - if you say one day then you must fix in one day, people aren't playing with you. 2- If a customer wants a specific thing done, then just do that - if the problem persists the customer will return to you

So impressed with the speedy service and professionalism at ForestCity Computer Repairs. My son cracked the screen on the laptop that he uses for remote learning. I brought it in and explained my desire to have it fixed asap to limit the amount of school my son would miss. They listened and understood the issue and said "go grab yourself a coffee and then come back and we'll get it done for you right away", and they were 100% true to their word. What a horribly run establishment, by an even worse person in Al. Sent my computer to get a fan replaced, and got it back with one of the keys on my keyboard broken. He then actually had the nerve to say, "It must have magically just broke in some random way" and then tried to charge me to fix it. When I walked in there were computers everywhere either on the couch, on the floor, or stacked on top of one another with absolutely no care or regard for your property. He bribes everyone with huge discounts to get such good reviews. His services are way overpriced as I had found out his $140 service would have cost me ~$80 everywhere else. When I went to go pick up my computer, there was someone else in there already giving him trouble for where Al, once again screwed up (no surprises here). And to top it off, he is never in there when you show up, so you have to wait for him in this tiny little office, that smells like a bathroom. My suggestions are to go to Mega Computer Systems or any other place close by to actually get some real service for a better price, and don't have to worry about Al breaking you stuff trying to hustle you for every last penny you have.

EDIT: The reason I gave two stars is because of the poor communication on the part of the shop (not notifying me when the part didn't show up and not telling me about the cash discount). In case my point wasn't clear; the work was fine, the lack of communication was disappointing. I took my laptop in after spilling liquid on it. After cleaning it and diagnosing the problem, they told me the motherboard would need to be replaced and ordered in from out of the country (I have a mid-range gaming laptop so I guess the parts it needs are a bit harder to come by). I was told that the motherboard would arrive soon but wasn't given a time frame. A week later I called asking for an update. They said the motherboard would definitely come in either later that day (Thursday) or the next day and that they would call me when it was done. By Saturday afternoon they still hadn't called me, so I called back and was told the motherboard was stuck at the border and they didn't know when it would be in. I understand shipping across countries can be a headache but I was still very disappointed they didn't notify me of the delay after assuring me it would be done by the weekend. The motherboard finally showed up a couple weeks later. I was quoted a price of $980, but when I went to pay for it on my debit card I was told it would be $1,107, which I did not have. It wasn't until I was already at the store that they told me $980 was the cost if I paid in cash and that if I paid with debit I would have to pay taxes on top of that (they made it sound like $980 was the total cost after tax and didn't mention the cash discount until I was ready to pay). This was very irritating but I was able to get the cash and finally got my laptop back. I will say that it does work as well as it did before, but with a few issues: occasionally when I close and then re-open the lid my web browser gets closed or the computer will restart entirely, and the spacebar sticks quite a bit now. It isn't unusable but it's annoying enough that I'll need to get it fixed. Overall I'm mostly satisfied with the repair, but the general lack of communication on their part was so disappointing that I will definitely not be returning.

I give Forest City Computers a Negative star. I brought my Apple in for a none responsive monitor on Friday Sept 18. By Tuesday Sept 22 they still hadn’t call me with the estimate for repairs so i had to call them for the third time. They told me it was unrepairable so I promptly picked it up and gave it to a friend who has no training for fixing computers and he was able to fix it. I do not recommend this company and think it does very shady business. To respond to your comment about broken and missing parts the only parts missing were a few screws to hold the bottom on and a broken cord inside which was what we brought it to you for in the first place. The screen was blacking out. We asked you for a price to diagnose the computer and fix the wire, instead we got told it was unrepairable. Why did you make us wait 4 business days if it was unrepairable it would have been a courtesy to call us sooner rather than later .We Checked our call logs and there are no calls or messages from you other then the one call saying you missed a call from my number and when i said why I was calling, you said you would call me back in an hour and I never heard back from you or any of your techs.

The keyboard and trackpad stopped working on my Macbook Air. I contacted some local computer repair shops, and they wanted $80-$130 just to diagnose the problem. I called Al at Forest City Computer Repairs and was pleasantly surprised that they don't charge for diagnostics. I went for a charging issue. The young man at the counter had to ask for the price which was $25 and if I needed a charger it would be $50. I repeated back stating dont delete anything and dont do anything above that price. It was supposed to take 2 days. I called and was told I would have a call back which i did not. I showed up on day 3 and the laptop hadn't been touched and the price for the same part(charging port) changed to 125!!??!@ The computer hadn't been looked at in the 3 days Do not recommend this place unless you need a screen repair which was done by an older gentleman in the store. Great place, recovered all my data within an hour. Very good pricing. Computer was shipped off immediately to see if motherboard could be fixed. It wasn't fixable, but they had no hidden fees (only paid $49.99 for the diagnostic and data recovery). I found out the computer was still under warranty, so I was able to eventually get it fixed through Best Buy. However, Best Buy would not put the hard drive back in without the original screws. I went back to Forest City and they put it in immediately, free of charge. Highly recommend it :)

I just brought my daughter's 2015 Macbook pro in for Al to have the Retina Monitor replaced. The monitor had a large crack that was unrepairable. Apple Care won't cover this type of repair or even water damage. Al had a spare monitor in stock and was able to replace it. I sourced the monitor in the USA and Al gave me a better price. They replaced the screen on my apple laptop. Great service, it's all you want from a repair place: no thrills, transparent, quick and fairly priced. Went to the Mac Outpost, where they had me wait for a long time, paid $110 dollars for a mandatory analysis to end up getting a very high price and long leadtime. Drove to ForestCity, gave me a better price over the phone and a shorter lead time. I like that repairs is all they do, so they're good at it. I've had good service at many places in London, but Forest City Computer Repairs has surpassed my expectations beyond anything. My large iMac's hard drive failed and although I could get a great price on a good SSD, replacing it requires taking off that huge screen and not breaking it or doing any other damage. Forest City did the drive replacement promptly. However, later that night, at home, the screen FELL OFF. Fortunately, it didn't crack. Forest City not only fixed the problem, they ordered a better taping solution which was delayed due to the snow this week. (not their fault but it was out of their control) The owner fixed the problem and then delivered my computer to me. He had to leave his shop on a Friday afternoon. That isn't a normal thing to do at all, but it does show how far this owner will go to make things right. STELLAR SERVICE. I will bring ALL of my future computer issues to this place. I teach Business at the university and I'll be using this experience to teach my students about customer service: excellent and honest communication throughout the process, prompt analysis of the problem with solutions, and then the owner minimized my hassle when things went wrong. AMAZING!!!!! I wish all businesses took responsibility appropriately like this. Well done!!!

I had a hard-drive problem with my macbook pro retinaI brought it to apple store, and the price they offered was $700 and that was ridiculously expensive, so i posted on kijiji to look for any cheaper way to fix this . One of the worker at forest city repair contacted me through email, he told me to bring it in. before i visited the store, I searched up the new SSD drive to replace for my macbook, and the price was about $380 tax included. Our family has taken two computers to Al at Forest City Computer Repairs. The first repair was a ten year old lethargic elderly Apple Mac computer that Forest City turned into a literal new rocket ship of a computer. (new solid state drive, maintenance to fan etc., latest IOS) Second computer, a Lenovo laptop that runs some specialized programs for amateur radio. The hard drive intermittently was failing. It was a tricky repair that required some remedial help once I got it home. Al at Forest City was very attentive to my needs literally treating me like family. I would highly recommend this company. They are honest and technically very competent. In no way do I feel they would recommend anything that is not 100% required. Further, as my example demonstrates, they can add longevity to older computers which is good for you and the environment.

I have a early 2015 13" Retina MacBook Pro where the battery had been expanding. The lid would no longer close and it no longer would sit flat on the desk because of the bulging battery. The laptop was still very good but was worried about the safety issue of an expanding lithium battery. Contacted Apple and their recommendation was replace the bottom half of the computer at a cost of $500+HST. Looked online and could buy a replacement battery and install myself but in this model year of Macbook Pro the old battery is glued to the case and to remove it is not easy and risk of puncturing the battery is high and a punctured lithium battery is very dangerous. Also when I contacted Apple they said it would take up to 3 weeks to do the repair. I use this laptop every day and cannot be without it for 3 weeks. Contacted Forest Computer and in a span of 3 hours they removed the old battery, installed a new battery and returned the laptop. Now the laptop screen closes and it again sits flat on a desk and functions perfectly (I am writing this review on the laptop). The cost was much less than half of what it would cost from Apple. So very reasonable price, excellent service and safety issue resolved. I would recommend ForestCity Computer repairs to anyone. Al provided excellent service and is very experienced with Mac computers. Thank you ForestCity!

I went there back in October, I accidentally spilled some water on my laptop and it didn't turn on anymore. I took my laptop to this place because of the good reviews. One hour later, I got a phone call from there saying about diagnostic of my computer issue and asked me then $225 for repairing it. I asked what the issue was and they claimed that it needed a new motherboard. I agreed to the price because a brand new piece on ebay could cost $150-$200 so I thought that it was a deal. My computer was working flawlessly two days later when I picked it up. The reciept only said: water damage repair. Why two stars? The bad part is the following: Fast forward three months after the repairing, my computer started to overheat really bad and it didn't last more than 30min turned on. Fortunately, that time I went to Waterloo to visit a close friend who checked my machine. He found ton of dust on the fan, everything inside was dirty, practically nothing of thermal paste and a scratched motherboard. He gave a good clean up and put some thermal paste on it. I paid $50 for it and the computer worked amazing, and I still have no issues. What did I pay $225 on FCC for? I'm still wondering, they didn't even clean the computer after disassembling it and they supposedly changed the motherboard. If you want a fast, short term fix, this is your place. Otherwise, find a new place, pay a bit more and make sure you get exactly what you pay for.

This place is great! I have been meaning to write this for a while now.. Better late than never I guess. I brought my computer in at the end of July because I was getting a blue screen and an error code that I couldn't get past. Al took my computer and called me the same day to tell me the the problem cost, and let me know that it could be fixed that day. I was thrilled with that! Al called back later to ask me if my computer typically ran slow and suggested a new hard drive at an additional cost. I was very apprehensive as this was a cheap computer that was already a few years old but he explained to me how it would help the speed etc. I went ahead with it. They called me the next day to say it was ready. It has been about 6 weeks now and I can say that my computer honestly runs better than it ever did.. even brand new out of the box! So happy with the service from Forest city! Highly recommend!

My macbook broke down and I went to Apple to get it fixed. Apple said the problem was the logic board and the repairs would cost roughly $750-800. Being a student I couldn't afford to pay that much for the repairs. As such I started calling computer repair stores in the London area. After calling 4 different stores, all with different repair cost and estimated repair time around 3-4 weeks, I finally got referred to Forest City repairs. I was informed by them that Apple doesn’t fix the parts but rather replaces them with new ones even if it’s a minor issue. They were able to fix my macbook for $200 and the repairs took only 2hrs. I'm very grateful for the work they did and i haven’t had a single issue since then. I would recommend anyone to forest city computers if you need repairs to be done. Scores differ from one extreme to another here. I know for a fact I paid twice what I should. I suspect Al sizes up which clients he can bamboozle and which he can't, as a result scores will be extreme. I brought a desktop here five years ago and the service was amazing; there was a quiet young fellow diligently working away, fair price and excellent work. Not sure if management has changed but night and day in terms of value this time around. Will not return and will not respond to his response, should he decide too. He knows as well as I do he skims when he can. For this reason would not recommend.

So my Macbook battery died, and I decided to order the new battery myself and install it. When the battery came in I realized that I needed a very specific type of screwdriver to get it out. Some computer stores simply didn't have the piece, others like PC Blues wanted to charge me like $30 for 5 minutes of their time. I went into ForestCity Computer, they replaced the battery (took 3 or 4 minutes) and when I asked what I owed them they said no charge. Customer service is pivotal in today's business world and I was more than happy with the customer service I got here. Good dudes.

After going to another shop and being told I would need to wait until the next day to even have a diagnostic run, I took my laptop into Forest City and the staff could not have been any more helpful or professional. My motherboard was all jumbled and as a result I couldn't use my computer in any capacity. It was taken apart, repaired and given back to me within 20 minutes and I was on my way. Had some issues with what we thought was a broken power supply, and called to see if they would do house calls -- Al came by our place the same day, within the time window provided earlier (we were told he'd come by between 2 and 2:30). I just had my first encounter with Forest City Computer Repairs and it will not be my last. I had a laptop cooling fan problem and contacted 5, (repeat 5) different service places. I also had a real time crunch on my hands. FCCR, and only FCCR, gave me 2 options, 2 prices and 2 time lines – one for repair and one for replace. Nobody else even came close to offering me any prices, time lines or options, let alone having someone available to discuss the solutions with me. I dropped off the laptop and 5 hours later I was heading back to pick it up, all fixed and ready to go and at the exact quoted price. I am totally impressed with the friendly reception, the service, the commitment made (and fulfilled) and the overall experience. Really impressed with the service here. I unfortunately damaged my laptop beyond repair by spilling water on the keyboard, but FCCR was able to salvage my hard drive/data. Service was quick (I got my hard drive back only a couple of hours after bringing my laptop in) and the individual I dealt with was extremely personable and helpful.
