Had to upgrade a bunch of hardware in my PC recently. Normally I'd just use Newegg, but I was doing a few things a bit out of my comfort zone. My dad is a computer analisist for environment Canada. One of five in the country so I know about fair bit. However I learned loads from working with the people here. Stuff you wouldn't think if and at a fair price. Even saw them willing to help individuals who did not plan on shopping at their store with in-depth honest advice. These are the go to people for ALL your computer needs. No competition. Finally some "can-do" people! These guys salvaged my laptop which had been beaten around, wouldn't charge and had wires disconnected inside it. Every where told me that I had to replace parts and leave it there for a week. Pier Street found a work around, some scrap parts and turned my business computer into a powerhouse in no time. We purchased a laptop & remote computer assistance for a vulnerable family member during the COVID pandemic, to keep in touch via skype. Rave Pier Street Computers in Campbell river. I called to inquire about a new power supply which I thought was the problem with my desktop. John (owner) suggested I bring it in as he would install it if required. Not only was the power supply gone my mother board was burnt out. Rather than put new parts in my old computer he upgraded my tower added the new parts gave it a good cleaning and gave me back an amazing computer. The service was outstanding. The level of knowledge was off the charts. I have no problem recommending this company for all your computer repairs.

Brought in my 2 year old gaming laptop after a fan started to make a loud grinding noise. I recieved very fast and friendly service and even though the replacement fan I brought in wasn't the exact right one, the outer shell being a bit different but the fan itself being the same, John was able to put it in, and made sure to stress test the fan just to make sure it would hold up through future gaming. All of this took only a day, and John even put some feet on the back half of the laptop to elevate it off of the table to let the fans cool better. So, I would say there's a reason pier street computers has been around for so long. Fast, reliable, and a fair price for quality work. They have my future buisness for sure.

Broke the screen on my laptop and was able to make an appointment with these people very quickly. To my surprise, the repair was done in an exceptional turn around time! My only complaints are the bill that was a tad on the pricey side and upon receiving my laptop one of the screw covers was missing because it had fallen off and they misplaced it.

Shortly before Christmas I stopped in at Pier Street Computers to talk with them about my ailing, older MacBook Pro. John, the owner, suggested that it might be possible to have it repaired and upgraded and so an appointment was set for the following business day when Tyler, the Mac specialist, could check it out. His prognosis was much like what John had suggested and he gave me a quote for the work to be done. By noon the following day Tyler called to tell me that the work was completed and my computer was ready for pickup. I once again have a healthy computer that functions in a way it hasn't done for several years! The final price was exactly as quoted, which was more than reasonable, and Tyler also tweaked a couple of things that we hadn't even discussed. I'm extremely pleased and more than happy to provide Pier Street Computers with a 5 Star recommendation.

Pier Street saved the day. I had a trial Monday. Late Thursday afternoon the cursor on my LENOVO computer froze as I was typing an email that had to go out by Thursday. Absolutely must go out. Consequences were enormously bad. I could not fix. I tried for an hour. Then switched to my MacBookPro. I could not get Google to Load. Panic and disaster looming large. As it was past 5 pm Pier Street was closed. I called John at 9:00 am Friday. He said "Bring them in, I have time for you this morning" His store is 60 miles away. On the way to Pier Street, the highway was blocked by a rock slide. Waiting for over an hour I began to worry about my professional reputation. When I arrived at Pier Street, I forgot my mask in the parking lot. Rushed out to get my mask and ran back. By the time I returned to Pier Street ( about 3 minutes) John had LENOVO on his table and said: "I can fix this in a few hours, my Mac guy will be here in 20 minutes" I could hear my heart rate lowering. I came back in 3 hours and John said : "Almost done give me 20 more minutes" I sat in the parking lot mentally drafting my letter of explanation to the Judge. John said:" All done". He typed up the invoice. I thought.....two guys almost 4 hours...this is gonna cost me $800 to $1000 dollars. The bill was $269.14 (parts included). I thought I won the lottery. I was home by 6:30 pm and quick as a bunny sent out required letters telling all "my computer guy is the greatest". And court today went well. In the past John has rescued me from his store by using Team Viewer. He is fast and explains to me in words a lawyer can understand. He is a lifejacket to a drowning man. Apparently the hard drive on the 8 year old Mac died and the LENOVO had some "computer " stuff go wrong. He also fixed my Netflix password! Thank you John and Casey. May you live long and prosper! I have been a customer at Pier Street since 2011. I have always found the service prompt, professional and affordable. I showed up at their store computer-illiterate. I had a new job that was online and I was cornered without any possibility of evading my computer resistance. I bought my first laptop from Pier Street and they have guided me through varied obstacles and crashes ever since. They understand my needs and feelings about computers and never pressure me to buy more than I want. They have given me lots of tips over the years and I am now a semi-competent computer user though still not an enthusiast. Pier Street is a local Campbell River business committed to their customers and to the community. They are talented and inventive in their problem solving and obviously take pride in the service they provide. Recently, in our current COVID context, I received the same efficient attention and they installed a program named "Team Viewer" on my laptop so that they can assist me remotely. I find it a pleasure dealing with the staff at Pier Street; they are friendly and generous with their knowledge, and most important, they solve my computer problems and get me up and running quickly.

I managed to bend quite a few pins on a very expensive processor trying to remove the heatsink. Walked into Pier Street Computers half expecting they would offer only condolences. Instead they actually managed to bend 30 or so near microscopic pins back into place. This saved me hundreds of dollars and they also explained the proper procedure I should have used. This year my wife and I replaced our older Acer laptops with two updated versions that included a core 17 chip, 15" monitor, and a ss hard drive. The transition was seamless. Because we live an hour from Campbell River, Pier Street staff made a firm appointment for the transfer of all files from our old machines to our new laptops. We dropped off our computers, went for lunch, and an hour later sat down and went through the new operating system and file management procedures. We have now used these new machines extensively for the last 6 weeks without one glitch or issue. This is our second major computer upgrade with Pier Street and when it is time to do it again it will be our first stop. This is a very competitive business and the final price between stores is always close. However, the difference between a satisfying buying experience and simply replacing a computer is customer service and knowing it will always be there if we have any problems. Buying from a local store like Pier Street beats a Big Box or online purchase hands down.
