Good service but not attentive

I’m posting this review to mention the unbelievable service from the computer support crew. I recently leased out a 3,000sqft office space and called them for a quote. I spoke to Mike, and he was very friendly and informative over the phone. I felt very comfortable talking with him as I am no IT genius. He didn't use all that confusing IT jargon, just what I needed to know and within 15 mins we scheduled an appointment for him to come to my space. During the site inspection he went over every detail possible, things that I never heard of or thought I would need. He also pointed out the areas on where I can hide the cables and make the space more clean looking. I gave him my budget and within 2 hours of leaving my space I got a detailed quote with options. It was nice that he wasn't trying to pad the quote or squeeze out some extra money, but rather guided me to the best options that fit my budget and needs. I had to be price sensitive so he even gave me cheaper options for some items, while others I was able to spend a little more to be more future ready. We spend a long time on a follow-up phone call and he didn't lose patience with me. The day of the install he arrived early to make sure he can complete everything in one day. He even stayed a little later without overcharging me. During the install Mike and his crew offered to help with moving some furniture like the computer desks to make sure his install was clean and ready to go. It was really nice that he went out of his way to help. When he left everything worked seamlessly and I was very impressed. I always thought that he would have to come back due to not completing something or missing a piece. But no he brought everything that I would need and even predicted things that he thought I would want. Plus they cleaned up there mess before they left. Overall I am really pleased with their work and ability to stay within my budget, even with some last minute changes. I would highly recommend them. Update: I had Mike to come to our offices to add 2 work stations to our setup since we are hiring 2 more collaborators. The work was done on Saturday on a rush order. I want to thank them again for their prompt services.

Two months ago we called Vancouver Computer Services in a rush to fix some computer problems in our Downtown office that resulted from an overnight power outage. We spoke to Mike about the problems and he was very knowledgeable and accommodating in scheduling a next day appointment. We were in a huge bind because we could not operate properly without a reliable internet connection. And calling Shaw was our last resort considering the poor services that they have provided to us in the past. The next day Mike showed up on time and within an hour or so had the problem resolved. There was a problem with our wireless router which lost the bridge connection to the Shaw modem after the power outage. Mike was quick to identify the problem and come up with the fix. He also ran diagnostics and clean ups of all of our computers, and made suggestions on how to improve several of the computers that were running slow. We called Vancouver computer services a second time two weeks later to install and configure our brand new professional printer, and to install more RAM on the computers that were running slow. Again, the tech completed the tasks quickly and efficiently at a reasonable cost. We would highly recommend Vancouver computer repairs for your office needs and would not hesitate to call them again for future services.

Update: My negative review because of a no-show has been upgraded to 5 star service! Farouk arrived as promised the next day and worked continously solving issues on my PC desktop, wireless printer, MacBook, and iPad. He shared tips for upgrading, privacy issues and extending wifi range. Overall excellent customer service. Highly recommended. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I contacted this company based on the reviews, but those reviews are grievously misleading. Called in the morning, was told he would arrive 5:15 pm. Called and left voicemails at 5:34 pm and 6:11pm. Received a text at 6:15 pm saying a job took longer than expected and can reschedule for tomorrow. I responded by text at 6:18 pm asking if he could come over after that job and if not what time to reschedule. No response. Sent another text at 6:39 pm. No response. Called and left another voicemail at 6:44 pm. Still no response. Wow.

Tech support just doesn't get any better than this! I have used these guys for many years. They have come to my office and have worked remotely on my computer. I have never stumped them on an issue. I've had entire systems crash, internet connections gone, been infected with viruses and trojans and most recently had FTP issues from a Wordpress update. There is absolutely nothing more frustrating than having your entire life shut down over computer issues. For us, our business stops running as well. I can call them any day, weekends, holidays, they have always been available. Our business absolutely could not function without their help. They are professional, fast trustworthy and affordable. We never call anyone else. You guys are amazing!! With gratitude! Robert.

I upgrade my four stars review to a five stars one. The reason; I called computer services at 8:30 pm for an emergency situation were all our network went down in the restaurant. The tech who was on call helped me fix the problem through a remote support session. Frankly, i was not expecting someone to pick up he phone that late. But they did, even though we did not have any kind of contract. Now, This is what I call first class service! ---------------------------------------------------------- I manage a restarant in downtown vancouver. Over the weekend we kept having problems with our payment terminals. At random some transactions were not going through. We called this company, they sent a tech within 1.5 hour. He diagnosted the problem. And within 30 minutes we were back in business. I specally appreciated the prompt response.

I called on vancouver computer support from a Business Advisor referral and was very pleased with the service and expertise in helping transfer data and files from a desktop onto a new laptop. The tech upgraded my systems and installed new software as was required. He also provided helpful tips on computing and back up and wireless systems. He was a no nonsense polite guy who works quickly and in a professional manner I immediately trusted his skills. I will not hesitate to call him for future computing needs. A reservation I had was that they were a distance from where my business is but he came on time and did not waste my time. If you need a good IT computer repair and support business, I will recommend them.

We had a major power failure overnight at our store, in fact the whole street block suffered the same failure. The following morning, none of our computers or POS was working. Another business in the building recommended calling Vancouver Computer Support for help as they have used them before. Their technician was on site fairly quickly. His initial diagnostic wasn't god as we had to replace the main router and two switches. The job was done in a professional manner. He did install a UPS backup and surge protection to protect our devices in case of a similar incident. I will highly recommend them as your IT services provider.

I had these guys come over to my office and install a File server with a firewall. I did not think my computer network can run so smoothly. I was advised on some situations that can be improved and I made the right decision to trust them. Along with the installation, they are now maintaining my computer network and making sure everything stays in order. Outstanding work guys. Thank you

The one star service turned out to be five stars for me. I have had a problem with the Windows update and sent a message to get a call back. After half a day I called and left a message and finally someone got back to me on a Friday. They said they are moving but can come to my place to fix it and that they can be at my place on Saturday at 1PM. It was in the middle of the day so I arranged everything around that appointment. At 12:30 PM on Saturday (half an hour before the appointment) I got a text message stating"Unfortunately, we have to cancel today's appointment.. we are dealing with an emergency for one of our clients. Our apologies." That was the whole message I got... Not the kind of service I expected I googled my problem again, and found the recommendation to go to the Microsoft shop, who at least made the computer running again, but will need to bring it back to do a major fix. The good thing about it, Microsoft does not charge for this service. So the bad service of Vancouver Computer Repair Services at least saved me some money. If VCRS are really experts and care about their costumers they would have suggested to check with Microsoft first anyway. Now it is up to you to decide if you want to trust a company that lets you down on short notice. For me it is clear that won't be my business partner Addendum 11Apr2018: Seen that there is reply from the owner. I have never requested a service for free. Obviously I could not solve the issue at my first attempt an was willing to pay to have it fixed. My suggestion is that it would be easy for you just let people know, that they can first check with the Microsoft store. This is how you build trust and people come back when they have another issue. Furthermore, I have never postponed or cancelled an appointment. You suggested the time and then cancelled on short notice. Your answer just shows me that it is not about your costumer. Mistakes happen. Own it an improve in the future.

Very professional guys. Provided an estimate within a day, and saved me over $250 on hard drive repair (a rival company told me I needed to buy a new drive, and quoted me a data recovery charge that was double than most places!). The repair was done in less than 24 hours of my initial call.. they were very nice, low key, and were willing to answer any questions in layman's English. They certainly didn't sport the condescending IT social retard shtick you get in some places...

When my husband needed some urgent IT services for his business, I did not hesitate to recommend Vancouver Computer Services. Try finding computer help on a Saturday after 6pm. Service is really what sets everyone apart in my opinion. All the other so-called "PC experts" didn't get back to me same day - in fact 2 didn't get back to me at all!? Frank emailed & called me back in 25 minutes! I had accidentally done some driver update that essentially made my pc useless. It wouldn't even start up and I had to finish a presentation for a potential client I was meeting on Monday at 8am. I was freaking out that I had lost all my work along with everything else on my computer. Since I have an older laptop (2000)I thought it had actually could of just died of old age. Frank troubleshot a few things over the phone that were basic and a few things that I certainly wouldn't have thought about. I explained to him how important it was that my computer worked again that night. The problem seemed to be a bit more than could be accomplished over the phone so he told me he could come right out - it was now 7:30pm on Saturday! He arrived in less than 40 minutes and immediately went to work on my laptop. About an hour later my computer was up and running as if nothing had happened! I was really impressed with the service and of course his ability to fix my problem - saving my client presentation exactly where I had left it. On Monday I got a call from one of the other guys and wanted to see what they might say. Without really listening to me he thought I needed to "upgrade" my computer system and he could do that for $300! He said if I hadn't backed up my stuff it's all gone anyway so a new operation system was the way to go. Ha- what a joke! It's great to know there are still honest, reliable, smart and quick techs out there that you can call on in a pinch.

Rob is hands down AMAZING. I had a 3 year old external hard drive that stopped working one day. Rob managed to retrieve years worth of work and my entire portfolio from this bricked hard drive. Even more impressive, I didn't have to wait forever to hear about the possibility of retrieving my files. I will continue to use vancouver computer services for my IT troubles. Thank you Rob!!!

Overall a great service. I requested a tech to my office in downtown to look at many problems related to microsoft outlook. He showed up as scheduled. He did what he needed to do, I'm no techie, but he fixed the issues i mentionned to him. He recommended a cloud backup to mirror my local backup, for added secrity. I will probably implement it going forward. All in all, pretty satisfied with the service.

Very efficient remote Support. Franck got me back up and running with my computer after a virus infected the system and made, for me, a big mess. He connected remotely and stayed with it until it was fixed. He was friendly and professional in his conversation and his work. The next day, I discovered another part that wouldn't work (because of the previous virus infection, most likely), so I called Franck again. He called me back and immediately got that part repaired, too. I offered to pay him for the additional work and he assured me it was not necessary. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Vancouver computer repairs. Franck even showed me how to do some things on my own as I'm working on my computer that would help keep it working more efficiently. I'm happy. I can get back to work.

It was a relief to find a company that was able to send a technician to my office. It is out of the question to leave my computer containing all my personal and business info in a repair shop with random strangers. I heard so many horror stories about stolen pictures that latter end up on internet, or clients personal and business info being used by people at the other end of the world, all this, surprisingly, happening just after they got their computer serviced in a repair shop. So i was quite pleased to find this company. When the tech arrived to my office, the first thing he did was to produce and sign an NDA. I was greatly reassured, since in my work field i store quite a bit of confidential info. For your privacy and your peace of mind , i highlly recommend Vancouver Computer and IT Support Services.

After an obviously worthless visit to Geek Squad, I didn't know what to do with my computer, as it was having serious problems and I need it fixed NOW because I work from home. My partner told me that he got a technician from this business to fix his office network few month back on the spot-- so I thought these are definitely the people I need right now. Sure enough, they did the job! If I were to leave my server with Best Buy, I would have to wait a week, and pay upwards of $375 for them to diagnose the problem and fix it (in my case it was either virus removal or hard drive replacement, and the guy at Best Buy insisted that it couldn't be the hard drive). When the technician from VCR services arrived at my office he ran his software on it and determined that my hard drive is corrupted in less than 3 minutes. No joke. All my files are already backed up, so I left my pc with them to fix. 3 HOURS LATER, IT'S DONE! I got a new hard drive and operating system re-installation for less than $200!! Nice! Not only are these guys quick, knowledgeable, and inexpensive, but they tell it like it is. can't recommend this place enough!

I don't feel confortable, neither should you, leaving my computer in a repair shop with total strangers snooping into my personal and business files. So, i was looking for a computer support business to send a technician to my office to do the work under my watchful eyes. This exactly what vancouver computer services was able to provide; a technician who arrived at my office within an hour and a half after my call. The work was done professionally and within a reasonable time. He provided few recommendations on how to improve my office network security, and also to put in place a reliable backup system. I will certainly follow-up on these suggestions. I would highly recommend to any person or businesses who value their privacy to have any repair done at your location. And for that, I will recommend Vancouver computer services.

I cannot say enough great things about VCR IT services. Recently, the hard drive on my work desktop crashed. If it wasn't for Rob and his previous recommendation to back up all my data on Carbonite online I would have lost a ton of highly valuable data. When we were having issues with our modem at work, he came out to our facility and resolved the problems within a reasonable time. Their responsiveness is highly commendable. Having someone you can trust to address your computers and IT issues is so important for your business. I know that I can trust them and his awesome team whenever I need technical support. Note: they informed me lately that they have changed their company name. Now they are Vansys Solutions. Good luck to them!

I called this IT company to solve recurrent problems we kept having with our windows server at our office in downtown Emails randomly stop working, access to our shared files get spoty sometimes. Rebooting the server once a day become a routine. They recommend moving our emails to office365 cloud and setting up a NAS drive for our shared files and for backups as well. This simply solved our problems. In addition they put in place a disaster recovery solutions that can get us back in business within few hours if a major disaster strikes. 2 months and counting, the system hasn't have a single hiccup! I highly recommend their services for any local business.

I own a retail store in kitsilano. Yesterday at the opening, all our point of sales systems were down. We called the tech support and they told us that the problem is with our local network. So we called Vancouver computer support for help. Their response was prompt and we were back in business in a very reasonable time.
