Notably, their business hours are meaningless. The only way to make sure that they are open and have someone working the computer counter is to call them. It seems that even if the store is open the only employee is a kid on his phone. The actual computer repair worker seems to show up just whenever he feels like it to work a couple hours and then leave. Don't expect anyone to know where he is or when he might show up. Having said that, their actual work is fine, the prices are typical of any laptop place, and they will give you a quote. I had my laptop fan replaced at the height of COVID so I cannot speak as to the speed of their service. It took about a month but I doubt that's normal. Your experience may vary but this place is certainly nothing special. I wouldn't take an important work/school computer here. Not worth the hassle to save maybe ten dollars. There are much more professional places locally that will be quicker and easier to communicate with.

They don't stick to their hours. Open late, close early (like, _several hours_ early) seemingly at a whim. Makes using the UPS depot insanely inconvenient. Always call ahead to see if someone's actually present at the store.

I am writing this review not of the store itself, but the small cell phone repair shop within the shop. So first off not honest at all . Naveen was the guy i dealt with. They will tell you what ever they want to get the repair. He was days late, told me to meet him at the shop and didn't show up .Then wrecked my sim card tray in the process and would not replace it. They lost my memory card dor a while but found it on the floor. DISRESPECTFUL.

Brought in a non booting laptop. Was quoted an exorbitant amount for a 'hard drive replacement'. Ended up fixing the problem myself, it was just a setting in the BIOS. A hard drive replacement WOULD NOT have fixed the issue whatsoever. They sell these models of laptop at their own store. Not about to attribute to malice what I can attribute to to ignorance, but either their techs don't actually know what they are doing, or are intentionally misleading customers into paying for parts and repairs they do not actually need.

Had an issue with my computer that I could not for the life of me fix. Even though all parts were under warranty and they wouldn't get paid regardless of the outcome, they spent hours and hours troubleshooting my computer to find out it was a CPU that went bad after 35 days!

Lady on the phone was helpful but the man in the store the next day was short, rude, and very unhelpful. I'm sorry it's the end of the day, but you're in a customer service role and the very least you can be is polite. Terrible attitude and very disrespectful. No attempt whatsoever to have even a modicum of helpfulness. You only get a two star because I presume it is just the person working there and not everyone.

I took an 8 year old laptop and a custom made PC into the shop. Mike and Igor were helpful and friendly. My laptop was not worth repairing and there was no charge to me for them to test it. My PC needed a new video card. Again this was a custom high performing PC and not any video card would do, so we had a small issue with the port adapters to monitor, but Igor was very quick to review the problem and fix it. I even picked up a great laptop at a fair price. I would go there again.

I can't say enough good things about these guys ,I first went in with a wifi issue with my MacBook ,they figured I lost my wifi driver and fixed it for me and also added ssd drive and charged a fair price for the repairs so I was really happy got my MacBook back in 2 days ,then lol I lost my graphic card and dealt with a young fella I wish I could remember his name because he was awesome and very professional ! they replaces it and man it runs like brand new , you couldn't tell its a refurbished 2010 MacBook , this is the only place I will deal with if I ever have issues again and you should really check these guys out !! thanks guys for excellant service

Worst place to get your phone screen fixed. Went in to get my screen fixed which they did a great job but then that broke my phone specker and mic. Then on top of it 2 month later, my phone screen that i had fixed by them broke in my pocket. Clearly a horrible job on how they fixed it and horrible product. Especially when I went in to tell them about it, all they could do was make accusations of how it broke. Basically called me a liar.

UPDATE: I contacted Alex and he resolved the issue immediately after I posted my review. Great customer service to resolve the issue. My friend received a full refund. Changing from a one star to a four star. Thank you, Alex. I had a friend visiting from France take his laptop here and what a waste of time and money. He asked for them to find out why his computer kept shutting down, and to test the Ethernet and HDMI ports as they weren't working. The Tech at New West Laptop Inc. said he needed to install the new OS, windows 10. My friend informed them he had just had that done in France before coming over. They went ahead and reinstalled the English version and made a total mess. It didn't solve the problem at all and made things worse. They charged him $190 for nothing! After he left, he took it to a tech in France and said the tech would have..." to entirely redo everything on the laptop, for many things were dysfunctional as not properly installed, like some programs of the O.S. missing, part being in Canadian, part being in French, video card incomplete, ports missing..." If you need anything complex done to your computer, take it elsewhere and save yourself some money and time.

The person helping me offered a brand new screen protector for a fraction of what I would pay at a regular phone shop and the phone case wasnt overpriced either!

Mark, the Manager, just called me to apologize and to tell me he will compensate me for this terrible employee. He was very nice at me and he understood the situation. Nice to know they care about their customers! Just went there at 10.20 to leave my laptop. Place was closed (sign said open 10-6). So, I called 10.50 and ask if they were open and I could take my laptop. He said yes. So I ask: are you open all day long. The guy said that he was open until 6. Then I ask: do you close for lunch? And he rudely answers: what do you think?? I can't believe he treated me this way!!! Very rude, won't take my laptop there!!!!

They will not sell you parts but they do repairs that does not make any sense even though they have a contact to a warehouse and they could sell you parts but they don't too lazy. When calling them up English is not their first language so be warned not good customer service.

I purchased a LG Stylo from New West Laptop and I was told it was an unlocked phone that would work on any carrier but to my surprise when I inserted the simple card from Chatr to my surprise I was told that the phone was not unlocked it was locked, so I will be going back to the store in the morning to have them make it right, I'm not the type of person that gets upset im more the kind of person who just gets what I was told I was getting and that's all I want is what I was told by the sales guy this is what I m offering and that's what I want nothing more and nothing less just what you told me I was buying, which was a Lg phone that was unlocked

These people are technical experts in analyzing both Windows and MacOS. I took a MacBook and a 27"iMac in for repair and upgrading. I had done a utilities check on the machine and I already knew the hard drive was failing. They did a more thorough analysis and confirmed this and confirmed the machine was sound, (graphics card) we decided on a solid state drive replacement. This will add years to my machine and increase its speed and at a very reasonable price. The MacBook needed a RAM upgrade and they discovered a broken piece of plastic floating around that had caused a noise, they just removed it as part of their free analysis. They were honest and upfront, efficient, and knowledgable and did not add on a bunch of charges that I have had other Mac "authorized" dealers do. I am grateful I found these people. Highly recommend.

I live right above this business and in our building, it's a well known front. For what I don't know but there's no actual technical prowess in this business, it's obviously used for more nefarious practices behind closed doors. Between the "optional work hours", advertising things they don't actually do (I went in to get something printed and they were conveniently "out of ink") this is a place you will not get any actual service out of but may get photographed by the law enforcement that surveil this place around the clock. I brought in my MSI GP62 with a loud fan issue. Within a couple of days, my laptop was repaired and ready to go at a reasonable price. When I tested the fan that night, the issue was not resolved. When I brought it in the next day saying the fan was still making a noise, the clerk accused me of dropping the laptop and that there was shrapnel in the compartment. In the two years I've had this laptop, I've never dropped it. This is where the red flags started popping up. Why didn't they tell me this when I first brought in the laptop? If I dropped it, I would've told them when I brought it in the first time. I got an update the next day, and was told the screen was no longer working. The screen was perfectly functional the night before, so I was at a loss. They told me they would order in the necessary parts and would fix the fan without any additional charge. After a few days, I got a call from a technician saying that, without a doubt, my laptop was dropped. He brought up everything from a toasted motherboard to broken joints. This laptop had no issues prior to the fan. I'm forced to believe that the people here destroyed my laptop and accused me of dropping it in order to avoid responsibility of the damages. Their reviews on Google are largely positive, so maybe my experience was a fluke. Either way, it is my opinion that anyone who's considering getting their laptop repaired here should seriously consider other options.

This guys are jokes. I called someone to ask about their laptop repairs. After answering my call and informed me that I can drop off in the New Westminster and someone will be there until 5pm. Only for me to arrive 10 mins later to meet nobody at the New West location. This was at 3:29. I called back the same guy and his response showed he had no credibility when he started saying nonsense about working from other locations.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Dealing with this business has been the most ridiculous nightmare. After attempting to uninstall some bloatware on a 5 year old laptop, the machine did a system restore, putting it right back where it started. It was taken in with the intention of having some routine cleanup done (both digital and physical). Instead, the operating system was reinstalled! People take for granted that software is not free. What if AutoCAD or Photoshop had been on there? Luckily the most expensive software package installed was Microsoft Office, which can be obtained as a student. After reinstalling and rebooting, the computer went into a system repair (not restore). Now we're into scary territory. Back at the store, he refused to give a refund, but he offered to replace the hard drive and recover the files, quoting a ridiculous price that the hard drive would "normally" cost. Now I have the laptop back. A 1TB hard drive was replaced with a 128GB one. The files have not been recovered. All that remains is a barebones Windows installation. No personal files, no personal programs. But I guess no bloatware either. This whole ordeal involved a trip to the store roughly every other day for two weeks. "I tried to call." Why don't you leave a message or email? "Come in a few days; it'll be ready on Friday," and then on Friday, "I said it would take a few days!" He constantly complained, "You have too many files; this would be much easier if there weren't so many files." What is a computer for, if not processing and storing data? To top it all off, I had to ask for the old hard drive back. He then looked it up and grabbed it from under the desk with a sticky note reference number on it. It's actions like these and the lack of communication (not wanting a paper trail) that make me think this place is in the business of poaching and flipping hardware. Do not under any circumstances take your computer here. It'll cost you $100 to have it ruined.

Every time I have been to this shop they are never open on time. Also they often close their UPS/Fedex pickup point early, hours before the scheduled closing time. If you have a choice, arrange to pick up your packages somewhere else.

INSANELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I'm convinced majority of the positive reviews on this business are fake. Went in for laptop repair. Repeatedly told to come in at a certain time saying someone would be there and no one was ever there. Gave no proper invoice or explanation of work being done. Work was not complete when they promised it would be. When I went by the store the door was open but no one was there. Stacks of laptops just sitting on an open shelf. No security whatsoever. Anyone could walk in and take your laptop. Removed all my laptop's data while "fixing it" and then tried to get me to sign a form saying I was okay with possibility of losing my data AFTER he'd already deleted it! Also upped the price from my official quote when I picked it up.

Be sure to read the contract carefully. The frontguy may say misleading things about the components that will be replaced or the warranty's duration. However, the problems listed in the contract were fixed excellently.

I bought a Dell Latitude from New West Laptop yesterday and had MS Word and Excel installed. I was very happy with the laptop and the overall buying experience. Externally, the refurbished laptop was in great shape and it performs like new. The purchase price was excellent and the MS Word/Excel installation was quick . The service provided was genuinely customer oriented. Lana had a very positive demeanor as she patiently helped me select the best laptop (value wise) for my budget. The service that I received was very professional and excellent. I brought in my Lenovo Laptop in for a repair of the viewscreen. I like the fact that they first looked at the problem without charging anything. The technician said it could be 2 problems. One that would cost around $80 and the other at $199. In their defense,, my laptop is quite old, however, I can't really afford to buy a new laptop and their is a program on it that I really need. Incredibly, he repaired it at the cheaper rate, however, he did say that it might not be a perfect repair and if there are any issues I should contact him again and they would look at it again. I really like the fact that he was honest with me. I also know that my computer is "old" however, I looked around the store and a couple of the refurbished computers caught my eye. So if the problem occurs, I will most likely purchase a refurbished computer from this store. I would definitely come back here and support this store again.

Called regarding a UPS pickup that was being held. The guy who answered the phone sounded like a robot and had absolutely no customer service skills. If you can't deal with UPS issues you shouldn't be an authorized place to accept deliveries...Sadly, if the service over such a simple thing was horrible I can only assume it's just as bad in the store. I will pass the feedback on to UPS as well.

Lena gives great service! I went to her when I needed to replace my hard dis. She not only replaced the faulty drive, but transferred over all my data, all within the day. Several months later I needed my software updated for MS Office. She did it within 2 hours while I ran some errands in their neighborhood and she did it for free, all the while suffering from a terrible cold. I love supporting small business and these folks have definitely made me a customer for life.
