I needed my MacBook Air repaired for water damage days before writing an online exam and I was able to get it repaired here in just a few hours. I was quoted that it might take a couple days, but it ended up being ready the same day since only the track pad was damaged. Very impressed with the quick service. I was skeptical at first when walking in and seeing lots of computer monitors and spare parts in front of the store, so I worried my laptop would get lost among the rest, but he was understanding of my situation and gave priority to my repair. If I ever need my laptop fixed again, this is where I'll be going.

My Macbook Pro 2015 went into a Boot Loop and I freaked out as it is my personal laptop with all my data. I dropped by FIXMAC when it opened and Jack was so quick at hving ideas what was going on as it was a common problem he has seen. I left the computer and as I was driving home and Jack called with a quote and the issue. Swollen battery. I got it fixed by the afternoon. So happy I didn't go to Apple and end up buying a new computer. Swollen Batteries eplaced and chipset it damaged. Cost was I am sure would be less than Apple. Go here for all MAC issues

I am writing this review from my newly repaired laptop! My computer had water spilled on it and would not turn on. My partner took it in to get looked at and the initial assessment was no cost. The shop is very unassuming but I'm so happy with the service! The repair cost was very transparent before any work on the lap top was initiated.The cost itself was also more than reasonable and the repair was completed in a very timely manner! Would definitely recommend! And will refer friends and family.

Great service, great communication, speedy, and a bit cheaper than anywhere else. Other stores charge around $40 for a three month warranty while they guarantee their work for free. Also, they will diagnose your computer without charge. I don’t know of anywhere else that will do this.

Jack did a repair on my beloved Mac mini. I found them on a Yelp, sent a message describing the work I needed ona a Friday evening. Jack responded Saturday morning with a very reasonable quote. I took my Mac in on Monday, and walked out with it repaired three hours later. While waiting, I got to watch Jack interact with customers at many knowledge levels. He was able to communicate well with everyone. This is a rare talent, and , coupled with the good outcomes of his work I have no problems recommending Fix Mac to anyone.

Simply Computing charged me $50 just to look under the hood - they were incorrect as to what was wrong with my computer in the end. Fixmac (free assessments) found slight water damage and replaced my entire keyboard for $250 when Simply was offering a $700 + solve. Same thing happened with my screen a couple months back - Apple told me to just buy a new comp & Fixmac solved my prob for no more than $500. ????????????????????????

So I took my MacBook to apple store thinking I had AppleCare Plus, only to find out the apple care I bought was only an extension to manufacture warranty. About $400 dollars down the drain now. Whole other story.. I needed screen repair - dropped it. Apple wanted nearly 1k before taxes to repair. More than half the price of a 2016 MacBook Pro! Searched around for Mac repair shops and came across Jack and his high review ratings. I wasn’t disappointed and understood why the high rated reviews, as Jack gave me a fair price for OEM part and quick turnaround. A few hundred cheaper than apple and days quicker. Unless you paid big bucks for AppleCare plus, please go to Jack @ fixmac for your MacBook or PC repair needs, he and his crew will take care of you quickly and without ripping you off!!! I went there to get my MacBook Pro repaired, and they told me it was a well known issue with that particular model/year and that I should check with Apple first if they would repair it for free. I ended up getting the repair covered by Apple, but I am amazed by the integrity of a repair shop that would send away a paying customer to get a free repair elsewhere, solely for the customers benefit. If I ever have need in the future that won’t be covered by a Apple (very likely), I will definitely be coming back here because I know I can trust them! EDIT: I ended up needing my USB ports in my MacBook repaired and its was far out of warranty so Apple told me repairing it would cost a lot! I brought it here and they repaired it for less than 1/3rd of what Apple quoted me for and it was repaired very quickly!

The fan on my MBP started making an awful noise when it ran, so I took it to the genius bar at apple. They told me it would be $170 and 2-3 days to fix. I called up this guy and he gave me a quote immediately for $78. Two hours. Sure, I was a little skeptical but luckily I took my computer to him. He was polite, friendly and after completing the repair on time and on budget he showed me what was wrong on my old part. 10/10 would recommend

brought iMac in few months ago due to hard drive freezing on startup. as if by magic, he fired it up without doing anything and confirmed hard drive is indeed old and failing but I cheaped out and kept it without having to pay a dime. well needless to say i finally ponied up for a new SSD drive. these guys are worth every five star review that comes their way.

Unfortunately I did not have the same "great work" as many of the other reviewers. I brought my 2011 iMac in and it was diagnosed that the entire logic board had to be replaced. This was completed in a timely manner and I took it away and had my "workhorse" back running again. I am using this computer running some editing apps. About a year had passed and I now decide to upgrade the OS and the editing app as well as a number of plug-ins. Some of the plug-ins would not load correctly with a system error. I then dug into the "about this mac" and realized that the logic board that Jack replaced was a major downgrade from the original that I purchased. I intentionally purchased this unit with a fast i7 3.4ghz processor and 2GB of vRam. To my surprise this unit now has a i5 2.7ghz processor and 512mb vRam. When I took this issue up with Jack he initially said he did not know what processor to replace my defective one with because it would not boot up for him to see the specs. When I brought my defective iMac in it was in the original box - with the serial number and the specs right there on it! As well why did he not call me if he was unsure of the processor. I could have told him and showed him the receipt I had from the dealer with the expensive upgraded hardware I purchased. I realize that a whole year had passed and then I find this out, so any type of warranty would not be honored. All that he would offer is to purchase my iMac for the amount of the replacement service work. If I wanted to re-sell this iMac now, it will have a fair market price not nearly as much as the iMac that I originally purchased. Won't be going back there again! IN RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE: Your response still does not excuse you from replacing MY original logic 3.4ghz i7 board with a much lower specified board. 2.7ghz i5. and vRam. To use your mechanic comparison: If you took your car (V6 engine) into a garage and they tell you it needed a new motor to run, you would trust that they would replace it with the same motor and not replace it with a (4 cylinder). Of course you would drive it away after the repair because it now runs, but the next time you go to replace spark plugs (maybe 14 months later) you find out it is not the same engine you brought in to the mechanic. Make sense Jack? You know what I'm getting at, right? We are not all mechanics and we are all not computer technicians, but we should be able trust the people repairing our machines to do an honest job. And, although your offer to purchase my now (deflated) iMac, I know I could get more for it on Craigslist.

Apple told me they couldn’t fix my MacBook microphone without replacing the whole logic board. I later spilled water on it too, even after that these guys fixed the spill and the mic issue for a fraction of what Apple wanted just to fix the mic. Prompt quick service too.

My computer would not boot up properly. I first took it to the nearest service center I could find. After several weeks it was returned and I was told it could not be repaired nor could any data be recovered. Undeterred, I took it in to Geek Squad at Best Buy. After a quick look I was told that indeed it was beyond repair and I should buy a new computer. Assuming this was true, I took the hard drive to a data recovery company in Vancouver. They successfully recovered all my data. I then thought that if my data was actually recoverable perhaps my computer might actually be fixable as well. That is when I went to Fixmac. I dropped off the computer, now lacking the hard drive. I got a call later that day requesting a photo of the hard drive. Then I was told that indeed the unit could be repaired - and if it was not fixed, there would be no charge. Wow, I was impressed. A little while later I got it back and it works beautifully. The cost for the repair was surprising low. In future I will go directly to Fixmac. If you are looking for competence, honest repair rates, and friendly service, then do not wander around the way I did; go straight to this business. You will be happy you did - John de Haas

I had a water damaged 2012 MacBook Pro retina that I thought would never live again. I decided I would give this store a try after all the positive reviews. Let me tell you first hand that they were right. Jack was able to take my mac, diagnosis (for free) and give me a very reasonable price to fix it. What is great is that he kept my mac for several days to ensure it was working as it should so I wouldn't get it home and wonder if it would die again. He did not guarantee it could be fixed but stated he would do his best and even said if he can't get it to work he would not charge me for anything. After the fix, he advised me he warranties his work and to monitor it if any issues come up. I definitely recommend this place to anyone with mac issues.

Thanks for the great service! I had been frustrated with my iMac since i had purchased it. The original iMac was so slow I returned it for another, thinking there was a problem with the computer. The second iMac was just about the same. After many calls to Apple Support, I finally gave up and just accepted the slow speed. Fast forward 3 years and enough was enough. Looking for a solution I found FixMac in Vancouver. One telephone call was all it took and less than 24 hours my iMac was fixed. It seems - and a problem Fixmac identified over the telephone was - the hard drive was not the best one for the computer. A swap out for a new solid state hard drive and my IMac is fast, fast, fast. FixMac was the first place to identify the problem, I got a price up front which was several hundred dollars less than Apple and now I have a perfect iMac. They truly delivered exceptional customer service. My 2015 MacBook Air was displaying a black screen after only having it for one year (purchased in 2017, then took it to Apple Store in 2018). I took it to the Apple Store they had swiftly diagnosed it. I needed an LCD replacement, which was odd because I'm pretty careful when it comes to my devices and when I had questioned the Genius Bar representative, he had said, "It just happens sometimes." I asked him how much an LCD replacement was and he had told me, "You might want to think about this but its going to be $700." I luckily had my iPad as a second device. 2 years later, I finally took it to get it fixed, and when the representatives at FixMac looked at it, it turns out there was water damage to my MacBook! They had called me shortly after to let me know that it might not be salvageable given that the water damage might have leaked into the LCD, but they will see what they can do. Turns out the LCD was fine and they had fixed the problem with a motherboard replacement/ repair. I would like to thank them so much for providing stellar customer service that Apple fails to do. My iMac was not responding, would not load, and a constant clicking sound. It must be the hard drive. I brought it in and he diagnosed and gave a free estimate. He replaced with a 1T hard drive almost the next day for $180 with a 1 year warranty. The guy was super friendly, explained everything, and suggested how to keep files safe in the future. He was even able to save a bunch of important files that i requested. I feel that they are people who are doing good work for a reasonable price. I have another non-responding laptop that I will bring in. Also they were selling HDMI cables for really cheap. I highly recommend this service centre.
