I brought in my HP Pavilion for repair after receiving a fan error. I was told straight up that the it would likely be unfix-able. I got a call the next day saying that the fan, graphics chip and motherboard were done in and that it would cost $400 to repair. From there I was pushed to buy one of their laptops in house. I took away my laptop, and decided to buy some mini screwdrivers and duster spray. When I took it apart, I could tell it hadn't been opened. Gave it a spray, put it back together and it's working like brand new. Would definitely not recommend going to this place.
