I took him a computer that was working and he gave me back one that wasn't. I took my laptop in for a memory upgrade. He soon called me and told me is that my screen wasn't working, It was working fine when I took it in. Now I have a laptop with lots of memory but no screen.

I took my daughters computer to him to repair and an external hard drive that he requested to back it up ($50), after a week of not hearing from him I called him back and he said the motherboard was fried and it was Un-repairable, I went there and picked it up, he charged her $60 and returned the laptop with no hard drive cover and no ram cover and said he didn’t know where they were but the computer was fried so it didn’t matter. After about 6 months my daughter decided to take it to her friend to have a look at it, within 5 minutes he had it running perfectly and it hasn’t had an issue since ! She had to order the lost parts online costing her another $45 ????

Unimpressed. My husband brought in our computer but what he asked to have done on it was not done, despite what Steve tried to tell us. We think this guy is a bit shady (sorry, friend, but that's how we feel about you). I notice that almost all people giving the 5 star reviews seem to have only provided that single review or maybe one other. I think Steve is making up these email addresses just to give himself more 5 star reviews. He also writes his own "Thank you, you are so great" messages to himself in the local "Beefs and Bouquets" newspaper column. A bit of a scammer if you ask me.

Make sure to make a complete list of your computer's components before bringing it to Steve. Our computer has never worked the same again after bringing it to Steve. Not sure what happened, if something was added or deleted, but it's not the same anymore. You might be better taking your device to a big box store for service.

I called Bitrate on a Wednesday morning, and by early afternoon they had resolved my issue. Stephen was able to retrieve content from a corrupt SD card, and for a very reasonable fee. Prompt. Friendly. Affordable. Knowledgeable. I highly recommend.

Steve was quick to respond to emails and very accommodating of my university schedule. I use my computer all day everyday and he was able to complete the repairs quickly without me having to suffer without my computer for school. Great bang for your buck as he did a lot more to my computer than what I originally thought was wrong. Great service!

Huge disappointment. Took my computer for repair asking for specific things. Explained that I am not computer savvy so please help setting up so that it would work. One problem out of the two was fixed, the other still persist and when I called back I was given a "suggestion" what to do, (again, not computer savvy) not an offer to take it back for fixing. So now, never mind that I already paid for it, I have to take it to someone who will actually repair the problem. the 60$ price is attractive, no doubt but I would have rather paid double for a good service.

OUCH !!!!!! Stopped in for advice re purchasing a laptop and said he had a very good nearly new one that he would sell . I purchased it ( big mistake ) trustingly. A few months later it crashed !!! no warranty . Took to reputable computer repair shop and found the computer was 6 years old , the hard drive was done and also the battery AND the cord for charging was the wrong one with the wrong voltage. $ 350 later it is working again. Would I go back ????

Bitrate did a great job of fixing my pc, but i suggest that people write their name on their cords just incase /my barely used HP laptop died just after its 1 yr warranty ran out. This laptop was pristine condition and kept on a desk in an upstairs bedroom. Bitrate checked it out and replaced the harddrive and i happily went to pick it up next day. I was halfway home when i realized that the cord for the laptop was not my new cord, it was an old beatup dirty one/ it even smelled musty. I went back immediately and was told that it indeed was my cord. He did a quick look around and said that there was no other cord that went with my type of pc. I asked if anyone else maybe was given my cord by mistake . The answer was no. SO here i am, many months later and i have a cord that does not connect well, its loose and often i have to push it in as it seems to lose connection to power.. Any movement of the cord as i walk by or move the chair and it Falls out. My original cord was a tight fit as it was an almost new laptop.

I truly believed that my laptop was unfixable but Steve worked magic and brought it back to life. It really is just $60! He saved me even more money by selling me a used replacement battery at half the cost. The battery was an upgrade to because now my laptop's battery life is longer. All the issues were fixed in just one day! I am truly impressed with the man.

I took an older lady’s computer in there she quoted her $60 to fix it, took it home it was still had the same problems I was gonna charge her again. And of course she was going to pay it, after speaking to him He was going to charge her the second time. I was telling her that her blue connection cord was old and she needed to buy a new one, I still have that cord on my Work computers at home. Felt like because she was older and uneducated he was completely try to take advantage of her. Very unprofessional and I would never go back. All I can say is run

I took my old laptop to Steve and a new laptop on which to transfer ALL my data - including my Outlook calendar items which were extremely important to me, containing many past/present medical appts and related LTD claim mtgs etc., When I tried accessing it at home, it was all GONE. Horrified, I texted Steve to please let me bring it back to him to find out what happened, he just said, "they were just not there for some reason, it didn't import so there's no way to get them"...it's the folder itself that glitched". His work is evidently NOT guaranteed, not interested in taking another look, given the importance of the content, & when I asked to have my old laptop back, it was already taken to the dump! I had to pay someone else with the knowledge to get the data back, thank goodness!..but the several days wait was extremely stressful. I do NOT recommend him, he didn't care about important data, nor to try find out what happened and got rid of the evidence.

Took my computer in for backing up and he took my windows 10 and reinstalled windows 7. I fell for the 5 star reviews he makes up. Stay away! He is not professional, takes very long and is shady. I'm writing this review a year later after having to recently buy a new windows 10 key due to him taking it. He also always has a passive agressive excuse for his actions and throws it back at the customer as can be seen in the comments. Don't be scammed.

There really is only 1 word to describe bitrate computers... WOW... For $60 my computer is fixed and its done with 1 day turn around. The service that Steve provides is top notch and I love getting parts at cost! I love that he is one of the only guys around that will actually open a laptop and fix it instead of saying just buy a new one. His saying is true to the word that "You DON"T have to pay the price of a new computer for your old computer to work like new"

Absolutely amazing customer service! When my computer completely crashed on me he fixed it right up installing a new hard drive and increasing the RAM. It works so much better than it did before!
