We have all the opinions of real people who use the products and services of IBC Computers Brantford (Computer Repair) in Brantford (Canada).
To this day the business gets a score of 4 over 5 and that score is based on 59 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is positive, and it is based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the score is quite credible. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Computer Repair belongs to the category of Computer store.
Fast friendly and efficient. Both experiences with IBC got me back up and running Very Fast (1 HOUR). Sure beats a week of downtime from the repair department where I bought my computer. Gave me options too.
Great service
I was in Brantford working on cisco switch when i realized I didnt have rj45 to db9 with me, so I called 7-10 different stores before finding the cable at IBC, good variety of cables and accessories ????
Not impressed! Just wanted to return a $16 FAN, and was told it should have worked. But it didn't after 3 attempts! For me to get money back I was told to bring my computer in so they could install it! For what another $30 50 bucks! Totally would not recommend this store!!!
not impressed power supply died and they told me it was fine wasted my time called me when I was busy had to deal with 4 people for one ☝️ simple issue ???? cost me 1.5 hours of labour pc still needs to be cleaned I paid in full but there service is something ........
Good, Friendly service. Good place to buy gaming machines and school laptops
I have been buying my computers from them over 10 years. They know computers and they're there to service you years later.
I was treated wonderfully even though I was probably a nuisance. With all my phone calls and whatnot. The turn around was quick and my problem was solved. Thank you so much IBC computers!
Good tech assistance
These guys are super knowledgeable and super friendly. Great products and great service.
Used and new computers. Busy place good prices
My experience was from some time ago, but a recent positive experience with a different computer store made me more frustrated about how I was treated here. I want to say that I do understand that I was not the best customer as I took two days to pick up my macbook. Also, I want to say that the people who handle the front are very kind, attentive, and welcoming. I dropped off the macbook to see if it could be fixed. When I was told nothing could be done at their level, I was told that it could cost over a thousand to retrieve the data elsewhere. I completely understood, but as I was checking out my opinion changed. I was handed my macbook back in pieces with the harddrive removed as requested, however in a broken, overturned CD lid. All the screws were still out and tossed in with it, leaving the bottom of the computer open. An employee sitting there also began belittling me even going so far as to say "you must be a real 'stay all day in your mom's basement' type" after finding out I work in video games. EDIT: Since I cannot reply to the comment, I am just going to edit my review. The $1000 price point is not my concern. I was told that it typically costs between $1000-$1300 by you, which is perfectly fine. I can't judge a company by how much a procedure will cost especially if you guys would have to ship it somewhere else. My issue was how I was treated and how my computer was returned. That conversation I had with Rob did not go that way. I told him I do some software development, but it was when I mentioned that I was working at an EB Games that prompted the response I received. I know for sure the term "mom's basement" was used and it was not said in an endearing manner. My comment regarding the "finding someone who did it for $50" is besides the point, which is fair enough, so I've removed it. However, the rest of my review still stands. An apology from yourself, on behalf of the person who spoke to me, where you just tell me I'm wrong is not an apology.
We have been buying computers from them for years, new and refurbished, and are always happy with our purchase. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the products are excellent quality. I always recommend them to family and friends.
My hard drive died and I was distraught, IBC computers came recommended to retrieve the data off the hard drive. First I called gave a run down to the person I talked to, they said based on my description that retrieving the data is possible but they would have to actually go in and see before they could make any kind of guarantee. I took my hard drive in and gave the info required, was treated as pleasantly, felt comfortable with the whole process. few days later I got a call and all my data minus a few system files was able to be retrieved! thank you for making my whole week!
These guys know their stuff. As a network manager I purchase from them for our company. I trust them.
A handy store when you need a part (when and if they have one) but can't wait for even 2 or 3 day delivery from an online retailer. Prices are a bit higher than online but that is to be expected with a bricks and mortar shop. Good prices for refurbished and off-lease computers. Staff are overly cautious about people DIYing their own computer repairs/builds. They want you to bring the computer in for them to charge and collect service fees. I have been building my own PCs for years so I just nod my head and politely say no thank you.
Great Staff & Service.
Great staff. Knowledgeable. Will definitely come back for all my parts and systems.
Just a little store selling used computers and some accessories. Prices are not that GREAT! You can probably find better deals on Kijiji if you don't need the receipts. Staff are very nice and patient in answering your questions. They know what they are selling. They also refill Ink cartridges for a very good price. If you wanna buy something from places like this you should have moderate knowledge about computers since you are buying a used device.
Needed a laptop for college. They were great to help me find what I needed but sold me a broken laptop which took two weeks to get back. They also sold me a bag that doesn't work with the laptop properly as its way to heavy and hurts my shoulder. When I bought it they never told me of their no return policy so now I'm stuck with the bag. Most of the staff is friendly but the manager talks down to customers like they know nothing. Won't be going back again.
Good prices
FedEx had their systems down and the wonderful staff took the extra time to allow me to be able to get my package. Amazing customer service, knowledgeable and friendly staff when it comes to computers and electronics.
After doing years of business without a proper IT set up, I commissioned IBC Computers to assist with getting things up to snuff. I’ve been happy with their service, and most recently they’ve been very helpful by offering an interim computer (with very short notice set up) while one of mine is having a warranty repair. You might be able to find what you’re looking for for slightly less (not that I did a lot of shopping around) BUT the real value is in having someone local when things go wrong. Certainly worth it!
I purchased a vinyl plotter that I could not get to work. Paul made a house call, diagnosed my problem and went up and beyond the call for us. Would highly recommend to anyone. THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE!!!
Am always able to find what I need here.
Good service
Great service and fair prices
Very knowledgeable staff. Very helpfull
Friendly and very helpful!
Just got back from IBC and I'm not a happy camper ! I recently (12/20) bought a Dell tower and monitor and was convinced to buy a anti virus program, total cost of almost $1,000.00. Unfortunately I hadn't had a reason to use the cd drive till a few eeks ago and discovered it wouldn't auto start . Went to the shop and was informed that they knew it wouldn't because of the way windows10 is set up and that my 30 day warranty had expired so they were going to charge me a half hr. labour to correct the problem . I realize because of the situation(virus) things might be a little slow but after spending this kind of money and they know your going to come back , why not set it up right to begin with ? I also had some repair work on my two laptops previosly . ($$$$)
Staff was super friendly and helpful, however, incorrect recommendations on in-stock products that were incompatible with my application led me to purchase products that wouldn't work for me. The final sale / no refund policy in the fine print on the bottom of the invoice is horrible.
If it were possible to give a negative star rating, I would! Paid over $200 for a new trackpad, still had problems with the shift key and the backspace, lost my fingerprint scanner, and now, less than a week after getting it back, the mouse is malfunctioning again, whether I use my remote wireless mouse or the trackpad! I will never ever recommend this company to anyone. When I got the repair done, they tried to make it sound like it was my fault it took so long, because the cause of the problem was apparently moisture in the keyboard area - but that is no excuse for taking over a week, and putting my repair order on hold every time a better paying customer needed them. And now, the repair has failed - what a bunch of crooks! My story: Purchased a refurbished Lenovo from IBC Computers in Jan - in late February had problems with it -took it back for exam and left it there for repair while I was away for a week. They found nothing wrong but recommended I install their remote repair service and virus protection. Paid over $500 for the laptop, which only had a 30 day warranty, then another $125 for the remote service and protection. Did have 1 successful service "call" by remote login in the next few months, but I ultimately diagnosed the problem. Then in July, problems with the keyboard and trackpad, and had to take it in again. They knew this was my business computer, and that I would be hamstrung and frustrated while without my laptop, when we took it in. Ultimately, 4 days later, Patrick called and advised that the trackpad appeared to need replacing. He quoted an hours labor and about $80 for the used part. He said they would scavenge a used part from their backroom "when they had a few minutes to go back there and look". That was a Friday. He said they would call when the laptop was ready to be picked up. But every time I called, Monday and Tuesday, I was told they were too busy with their corporate clients, to take time to examine my laptop, or that Patrick was the only one who knew what was wrong with my unit and that he was not working that day. By Wednesday, I called to see if I could pick up my laptop when I was in the neighbourhood and was told it still hadn't been fixed. I berated the person on the phone and advised I felt I was receiving poor service and being treated like my business was not valued. the person I spoke with disagreed and then proceeded to explain to me that the technicians are out of the store most of the time on corporate contract work and that my laptop might get fixed in the next two days. I was not happy and let them know. Later that same day they called and surprise, my laptop was ready. It cost me $200 plus for the repairs, and I lost my fingerprint scanner,(replacement part did not include that item) AND, the Shift key and backspace key are still not functioning! And, after working with it for 3 days, the mouse is now not working properly!!! I have now owned the rebuilt laptop for just over 7 months, paid more than $800 including repairs, for a unit I could have bought new from Staples for $600. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for.
Friendly people willing to answer questions and make sure you walk away happy
My laptop charger broke and they sold me an old charger for a hefty price. The charger they sold me had different wattage, but the staff assured it would work fine and won’t affect my battery. But it did, now the battery on the laptop drains quickly and the charger itself doesn’t work sometimes.
