I've been in here a number of times to purchase a wide range of items; mirrorless cameras, a drill press to a turntable. Everything is working fine still. The one time there was an issue with a product, their technician tested the product out and fixed it quickly and correctly. I've sold a few records there and found the prices paid more than fair.

I used to rent my tools but after finding this place it only makes sense just to buy them used. I really like the warranty they have setup, its nice to find a good clean trusting place like this. Went and asked about an item that I called about , item was sold before I arrived and the guy behind the counter laughed at me and said to bad. Rude workers and clearly uneducated people handiling the products. Terrible experience all around.

They sold an item out from under me, and gave it to someone else, “claiming” that the other person bought it first. What they didn’t know, (after lying to me) is that I was fully aware that they had it for sale on another platform. A platform that instantly updates when an item sales, by the way. So here’s how it happened: I’m a rare vinyl record collector (NOT a “dealer”/reseller) I found their record on a very popular site that allows people to sell/buy records. I read their full disclaimer, and it stated that sometimes stock is limited, and an item may not always be available, etc etc. So I decided I would just check out the website for their actual store, thinking I could serve multiple good purposes.. 1. Support their business directly (which I love doing, if possible), and 2. I assumed that if I bought it straight from THEIR SITE, that it would take priority over any other external selling platforms. So I purchased it DIRECTLY from them, and their website. After securing my purchase, I saw that it had updated on their website instantly, that it was no longer available for purchase. So I kept an eye on the alternative selling platform, (a site that also instantly updates as being “sold” as soon as someone purchases an item) and after about 3 hours, it showed it was no longer available on that site. At the time, I felt relieved, because I assumed that they saw that I purchased it directly from them, and updated the other site, and took down the listing. I was wrong… what they did, was cancel MY order, that was made hours previously, and shipped it out this morning to the OTHER buyer, who bought it after me. The only reason I can think that they would do this, is because it was $10CAD more expensive on the alternate platform, than it was through them. I sent them an email, and told them that I’d gladly pay that difference, because if I’m spending THAT much on a single vinyl album, then $10 extra is no big deal. They were under the assumption that I didn’t know any better.. but what they didn’t know, is that I check 10+ websites every..single..day, across multiple countries in search of this exact album, along with others. I’m a very loyal customer, who has no problem spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on his record collection. I was excited to see that they have a massive collection of records, that seem to update regularly, so I was gearing up to be a new “regular customer”. I’ll find another copy of this particular record one day.. but for me? It’s the principle.. they screwed me, and lied to me, over making a couple extra dollars. Typical pawn shop character, I guess. I should’ve known better. I will NEVER, take another glance at this place, and I advise anyone else to steer clear of them as well. I wish there was a “zero” stars option. I read their reply to another negative review, where they stated that they “strive to provide good customer service”.. what a sham.

Never in a million years would I thought I’d get cell phone repairs done at a Pawnshop. The only Pawnshop I had ever visited was in downtown Toronto out of curiosity…it wasn’t a good experience being gritty and the feeling that noting in it was legit. Greenbacks was the exact opposite experience; it’s neat, tidy and clean. And more to the point the staff actually know what they’re talking about. Which brings me to the person that absolutely addressed my needs: Craig. He was recommended by another business (Tyendinaga computers...a place I swear by) as being THE cell phone guy around Belleville. My problem was my phone wouldn’t hold a charge and I was convinced I needed a new battery. Craig looked at the problem and determined it simply needed a thorough cleaning for which he proved by charging immediately. Moreover, my SD and SIM cards were, I thought, completely stuck where he extracted them within minutes using a nondescript tool. The charges for all this were completely reasonable and were done with an expertise I simply didn’t have. My only disappointment was that I couldn’t reach anyone by phone the second time around nor leave a message. I understand this is an in person customer first business so I won’t hold it against you.

I love this place. Last time I was there I found three albums on vinyl that I had been looking for and I felt the price was very reasonable. Also, they had some cool guitar equipment. I got a guitar pedal the last time I was there and they were very accommodating. They allowed me to try it out before I bought it.

Update bringing down to 1star these guys are scammers 30% on 100$ 30days to get it back this is criminal worst pawn shop in probably the province these guys are going to burn in the deepest circle of hell for there greed and exploitation of the poor. I was cautioned that I should be buying from an electronics store and not a pawn shop, HOWEVER I could not be more pleased with Russ and the Management at this store!! I did actually have an issue with the computer (unrelated and random) and they took care of my computer issues immediately and without any hassles at all. After 5 min or so I was asked if I could use a hand, by that time i had found somthing i wanted. They helped me demo it and made sure it was working. I went in to see what they would offer me for a number of pieces of jewelry, all clearly visibly different in value. There were 5 pieces that they pulled aside saying that they were interested in them. They then took measurements of weight, size and types of stones, quality of the stones (clarity, colour), how many karats of gold in each. They asked what I knew about them and whether I had any paperwork telling me anything about them. I said no. I didn’t know much about them - but I knew enough. I knew the approximate value of one of the rings, as it was appraised before the auction it was purchased from, about 10 years ago. In the end, they offered $750 for the 5 pieces. The one ring from the auction was initially appraised for $10,000. It has 1.25 karats in diamonds, with a 1k princess cut diamond in the centre surrounded by additional smaller diamonds. I said that I will hold onto my jewelry, and went to a local jewellers on highway 62 that specializes in fine jewelry and custom design to see what they had to say. I no longer had any paperwork for it, as it was ruined in a basement flood, so I couldn’t actually confirm the value. The jewellers gave me a fair offer for my items, and told me honestly that I would get a much better price if I were to have it appraised and sold it on my own. His ball park estimate confirmed what I knew from the auction. The jeweller has a new customer for life and I’ll never step foot back in Greenbacks. I can only imagine how many people they have taken advantage of for not knowing what they have. Thank goodness I did know what I had, or I would be one of them.

I saw a bicycle trainer in the shop. They advised that it needed a part that the owner was going to bring in. I agreed to pay the $100.00 they were asking for and left them my name and phone number. I live more than 40 minutes away, but I came to town and dropped in. They said it had been sold. They had no answer why I had not been called. It was like the Seinfeld episode where he tried to reserve a car. I am not impressed.

I went in for a tech issue taking my phone and tablet and I'm not sure of the young man's name but he was amazing. We weren't able to get the issue corrected but it sure wasn't for lack of trying. I have found this place to be nothing more than a den of thievery. I lost a beautiful guitar I tried calling several times left messages on the Facebook page and had no response whatsoever. When I went in 2 weeks late because of covid issues. The young man who I spoke to was abrasive and ignorant beyond measure. Understanding that I have lost and had no stable ground to Stand. I enquired about purchasing the case, for it was for another guitar that was home . Off handed he said $20 so I offered without distaste $20 tax in. I replied that you guys definitely got the better of the deal so let me have it for only a 20 . His response was for the three dollars in question he would toss it in the garbage. I also witnessed them basically steal a 1970s tube Amp from a lady by plugging it in and not letting it warm up as you should but tell this sweet lady that it was garbage and they will dispose of it for her. I was discussed by the low brown tactics and will not be a customer or tell anyone to even step foot into the pawn shop of ignorance ,bad service and lack of empathy towards customers Not worth the time

Game prices We’re mostly pretty poor. Ex: Used switch games for the cost of brand new. I looked at PS4 titles as well and had a bunch in hand, a couple prices a little more than they should be considering age and how many doubles they had. I asked if they would come down then a bit if I bought multiple games. They didn’t even look at what I had in hand and just said ‘no’. Which is fine. I simply would have bought more if there was any sign of negotiation which at every pawn shop I’ve ever been in there is always wiggle room. Simply wont look to buy from there selection knowing I can get a better deal on this stuff almost anywhere. That being said the store was clean and presented very well.

read some of these negative reviews on here and it is true.... they put fake serial numbers over the real ones...i even called fender and they told me they dont do b stock or "defective" guitars and that this store is not an authorized retailer.. they do it with other brands too like yamaha and norman and they tell you it is all new but it has a fake serial. they lie in store with their product and they lie online in these reviews. dont buy a guitar or anything for that matter from these guys. absolutely disgusted

Greenbacks can not be trusted. Get everything in writing. My feonce got my ring from them with the promise they would size it. They did not and I feel this is unacceptable. Sadly disappointed. Noticed a violin on the wall that was missing a string. Was told it would be fixed by their tech soon. Came in shortly after interested in purchasing it, but still not strung. Soon after, purchased the violin with assurance the tech would string it. When brought back in to have restrung, was told tech would not string it, that we had misunderstood. Not so, Greenbacks. Took to a professional who was aghast to see the bridge was glued down. Hmmmm. Maybe that's why it was relatively inexpensive? Perhaps could've mentioned that? Sketchy, man, sketchy.

I was in the store a few weeks ago looking into a Pawn Loan. The second I walked in the door, a nice man came right up to me and greeted me and asked what he could do for me. He lead me right over to the Pawn Loans counter. I was hesitant to get a pawn loan because I have never done so before. The man that greeted me explained how the process works and gave me peace of mind. The other gentleman working behind the counter really knew his stuff when it came to guitars (and had a sweeeet hair doo). He was extremely friendly and helpful. Both men that were working were very knowledgeable and genuine. Would definitely suggest going there. I unfortunately did not ask their names as I was in a rush. I will definitely be finding out when I go back in to buy my items back. Thank you guys!!!

I went to the mall for phone repairs before… but now … I’m going here. Someone told me they do great repairs ask for a man named Greg but To my dismay it was actually Craig. He will treat your phone like a phone wants to be treated. He’s the real deal. The guy took my phone I dropped doing an excellent throw on a shiny in Pokémon go cracked the screen something fierce. Fixed the screen and put that tempered glass cover on it. Which I don’t know about you fellas but every time I try I get pure air bubbles under it. Also scored me a mean Pokémon platinum while I was there for decent price

Bought husband a guitar and upon getting it home he found the switch was faulty so he returned it. Was told to take it to Ardens and they would fix it for him. Their bench cost at Ardens is approximately $80 plus cost of parts. They advised their guitar repair person wasnt in and were offhanded so husband asked for money back. I have inquired about a gold bracelet they have listed on line for sale...gone into the store 3-4 times and asked. Called again yesterday and again was told that the person handling the jewellery wasnt in until Monday and they didn t have access to it. Thanks so much for your lack of customer service. Purchased a beautiful 14K gold bracelet from one of your competitors.

Bought a fender acoustic from this store in June and noticed there was a sticker over the serial, went onto the fender site and typed it in only to find out that it’s not a valid serial and that I’ve bought a used instrument labelled and sold as “new” I searched through the fender site and came to find out this store is NOT an authorized Fender guitars dealer. Very disappointed in the dishonesty they try to cover, will never be shopping here again

If I could rate this place lower I would, they have slimy sales practices and will deliberately lie to you about their services. If the slimeballs tell you a service is included, "just bring the receipt", be sure to get it in writing as they will deny it and will try to charge you. I recommend avoiding them at all costs as it is a disgusting way to operate a business.
