Great service from owner Paul. My laptop screen stopped working suddenly at 7pm in the evening and I had a important assignment submission the very next day. Although the shop closed at 7pm, Paul received my call and called me to his workshop which was open till 9pm. I reached there at 8 and he met me outside and showed the screen which he thinks will fit. Then he took 45mins to replace my screen and it was good as new. I really liked this very quick turnaround and polite attitude of Paul even outside his qorking hours. Highly recommend him.

I spilled tea all over my external hard drive that contained all of my work and the interior was flooded. Paul took the drive in on Friday afternoon, sent me timely updates on his progress throughout Saturday, and had the drive ready for pickup by Sunday. He recovered all of my data, and even moved it onto a brand new hard drive for me. This was all done at an astonishingly low flat rate for the service, and a price for the new hard drive lower that was lower than the market value. I cannot recommend this service enough for all computer-related needs!

I also dropped my computer off with Paul on a Sunday, freaking out because of deadlines, etc. and he had it fixed in one day, while a couple of other places told me 1-2 weeks!! I couldn't believe it, totally saved my life. Paul also cleaned the fans, etc. and though he had to do more work than he anticipated, didn't charge more than the original quoted price. I had a virus on the day before a long weekend holiday. I was able to drop my PC off in the afternoon and have it back by lunch time next day. The virus created lots of damage and changed files but Paul worked really hard through the evening and was able to retrieve all my files. He kept me updated all the way. He installed some free-antivurs and even cleaned my laptop inside and out, keyboard, screen, etc. It was delivered clean from virus and shiny! Top marks for friendliness, fast service and competitive price. This was an especially positive surprise, as I was skeptical when I left my PC at a residential address rather than a shop.

I've taken my laptop to Paul twice now. The first time, it was because my hard drive started to crash due to damage from a fall a few months prior. He managed to save all of my data, install a new hard drive (which he had on site), performed a virus scan just to be safe, and then returned my laptop to me within a couple days (it only took that long because I had a lot of data to transfer. Otherwise, it would have been within 24 hours). He even fixed the damaged casing! The second time, I was more worried, because the problem seemed somewhat random to me. But Paul identified it almost immediately, fixed it completely, and threw in a tune-up for free. It was available for pick-up within a day, once more. I understand that some people will be sketched out a bit by the website, and they don't seem particularly professional when you drop it off. But the service is absolutely excellent, and I'll never take my computer anywhere else again!

Fast and professional!! Paul works from home and fixed my computer in three days. My computer had some serious problems and the system runs extremely slow, he had to reinstall a new hard drive as well as reinstall the entire windows 8 software. Do not trust thisplace. I gave my laptop for motherboard repair. They could not solve the issue and charged me 70 CAD. Also, when I gave my pc, keyboard light was working, now it is 100 percent death. Finally, My ram was sticked to the case with tape. All this process took a month. I do not recommend. After this I went to another local repairshop which charged zero dollars for diagnosis and succesfully repaired my motherboard.

My PC was sporadically crashing, and monitor would lose connection to the computer every few days. I really couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, and was dreading the prospect of having to replace expensive parts or perhaps even the entire thing. After I dropped it off at Paul's, it was fixed and running like new after just 1 day. The culprit? Well, this is embarrassing and gross to admit, but it turns out that there was a HUGE wad of cat hair that somehow got stuck inside the video card! Paul cleaned the video card out completely, and also cleaned the entire tower inside out. I had brought my monitor along to diagnose for errors just in case there was something wrong with it, and he cleaned that for me too (no extra charge). He also did a virus scan on top of all that work. I'd definitely recommend UHelpCo to everyone I know. Paul saved my PC and saved me from having a massive panic attack!

My laptop was shutting off every minute and they helped fix the hardware problem by fixing the motherboard. I got it back on the third day, so fairly quick service. I was also lent a loaner laptop because I had no backup options at the time. There are a few phone numbers on the website, so if you're not getting the phone picked up you might want to try the other numbers that are there to reach them.

My computer was bluescreening constantly, and Paul assured me that he could take it in and fix it. Ultimately, he wasn't able to do that, as it turned out that I required a new motherboard. The process of fixing my computer was long, drawn out, and uncertain. If I had it to do over again, I would have just gotten a new computer. However, Paul helped me through the process of finding the problem, getting the right motherboard, and installing it properly. While he wasn't able to fix my computer right away as he had promised, he was extremely friendly, helpful, and on call until the job was done. He put in extra time he wasn't getting paid for in order to follow through with the promise to fix my computer. I certainly wouldn't have gotten through it without him. I don't think you'll find another computer repair person who is so available and helpful, all the way through to the end of a problem. His prices are also very competitive. I will definitely call Paul for any future computer repair needs.

Paul is very thorough and pleasant to deal with. I first used his services about four years ago when he removed a virus from my laptop. At that time, he had it back to normal, with a an anti-virus installed and my OS optimized in less than two days on weekend. Since I m not that computer savvy, neither is my boyfriend, I decided to seek professionals help. I went to this place given all the amazing reviews it received. To my disappointment, the customer service wasn t what I was expecting. After a quick diagnostic, I was told the issue would cost $325 to fix, which I found unreasonable given that my laptop is 4 years old. I decide to go to another place. The diagnostic was totally different. They quoted me $150 for the repair. A day later my laptop was ready for pickup and I m now using it to write this review. If you are experiencing computer issues, and based on my personal experience, I would recommend you visit another place. I feel duped by all these glossy reviews.

Excellent, fast and helpful service. My son's laptop was fixed within the specified (24) time, with clear updates on cost when it became apparent there were multiple problems causing the laptop to not charge. Paul, was polite, explained exactly what he was going to do/investigate/charge for, then he did it very competently. I would highly recommend his services. Future clients should note that he does not have a shopfront, but seems to work out of his apartment, so it is best to call and arrange a meeting time in his lobby first.

My 4 year old laptop had developed a pretty serious hardware related issue, the factory solder was failing. After making a few inquiries about the issue with different outlets it was clear Paul at UHelpCo had a better understanding of the issue. Instead of having to replace some expensive components Paul was confident he would be able to repair the issue even though it would have been much easier for him to replace with new parts. This repair was performed successfully at a fraction of the quoted pricing I received elsewhere. Additionally Paul performed the service promptly and had my computer fixed within 24 hours. It's hard to compare the level of service you will receive from UHelpCo with having to go into a busy store and wait around for hours or mailing in your computer and waiting for a few weeks.

The external hard drive I use to back up my MacBook became unresponsive. The Mac was not able to detect it. I found UHelp through a combination of Google and Yelp, conveniently located and open on Saturday afternoon. I called and told them of my issue and we agreed that it was most likely the enclosure not the drive itself. I dropped off the drive and was told that I would get a call on my cell when it was ready - about 40 minutes. And that is just what happened. I paid much less than I would have had to buy a new hard drive, and it was up and running again that afternoon. Really easy and convenient. UHelp will be my first call in the case of future computer problems.

Really? "the best computer repair shop in vancouver", are you kidding me? That was the worst cutomer service i had the misfortune to experience in vancouver so far. I took my server to this place because it couldn't boot anymore. After a diagnostic, they told me the motherbaoerd needed to be replaced with a similar new one. They assured me that the repair will not damage or alter the data that is currently in the computer. That was very important for me. So i gave my okay for the repair. A week and a half later, they told me the computer was ready to be picked up. Once at my office i tried to boot the server, i got an error "no boot device" I tried again, same message. I called them, they guided me through few steps with no luck. I asked them then to send a tech to my office to fix it. They said no. We are too busy. So i took my computer back to the shop. After having a look at it, they told me the hard drive is empty, formatted. You can imagine my chock. They couldn't explain what may have happened to cause this. But i will tell you what caused it: your INCOMPETENCE. I chose this place based on all the five stars reviews. But i realize now that most of them are fake or are paid for. It is very unethical and deceptive.

I accidentally spilled water all over my macbook and thought it could not be repaired because the water damage caused my macbook to switch off and I could not turn it back on. I decided to leave my mac to Paul to see if he can at least retrieve my data in the mac. However, Paul managed to fix all the components in my macbook at such an affordable price. Also, he told me that he would be able to replace the battery for free if I bought one. Such friendly and affordable service from Paul! I cracked my laptop screen during a class and was desperate to get it fixed. As I just arrived at Vancouver I did not know about any repair places. I found Paul online, read the reviews and called right away. I left my computer around 5 PM and he called in a 3 HOURS saying that it was fixed, AND IT REALLY WAS!!!! I was not even late to my class and able to turn my assignment in. Excellent service, excellent speed and wonderful person. If you are a UBC student in need of repairs or any kind of computer related service I am sure that Paul will help you the best he can without the hassle.

I had my computer (mac book air) fixed here about 6 months ago after spilling a full glass of water on the keyboard. It died almost immediately and wouldn't turn back on again. I googled a bunch of fixes (fans, rice, etc.) and tried most of them that night but it wasn't looking good. Finally found this spot and took my computer in the next evening. Fair price, excellent and quick service, and I had my computer back to working perfectly fine. He even told me if it ever happened again or to a friends we could call him right away even after work hours and drop it off ASAP because there is less chance of damage the sooner you bring it in. 6 months later and no problem at all! Highly recommend, and don't lose hope!

How hard is it to find a descent and honest computer repair place in Vancouver? Very hard, given my experience. This is the second repair shop I took my laptop to, just to hear from them 2 days later telling me that the motherboard is toasted and replacing it is not worth it, and buying a new laptop is better, and obviously they have plenty of laptops to sell. This is not any laptop. It is an alienware gaming laptop. I bough it 4 years ago for $5000. So the idea to letting it go based on their recommendation wasn't an option. A friend of mine recommended another computer support business (I'm not going to mention it here). I left my computer their for a day. They came back to me with the diagnostic. Their was nothing wrong with the motherboard. But one of the video cards was toasted. However this laptop can perfectly run on one video card. They did just that, disconnect the defective video card, I did not even need to replace it since my laptop is able to handle all my games in its current state. It paid $250. Money well spent, at last.

I loaded Windows 10 incorrectly, and messed up my system. Paul quoted a rate, and it turned out that there was a considerable amount of extra work he had to do to stabilise and optimize my system. However, he just charged the quoted rate, and returned the computer to me within 24 hours. He also followed up by phone to make sure everything was working to my satisfaction. Great job Paul! I wanted to thank Paul for all help and efforts done. A half glass of Jaggermeister has been spilled on my laptop. I searched many pc repair stores and i went one store at Main Street named JNRJ. My 6 month old computer wouldn't backup, was slow, and had a broken DVD drive. HP sent a technician and replaced the DVD drive. Within 1 week the new DVD drive wouldn't work. I phoned Paul late Saturday afternoon, and brought in my computer at 8AM on a Sunday morning. Even at that time of day he was gracious. By 3:15 the DVD drive was repaired, the computer was fast and would back up automatically. He helped carry the computer out to the car for me. The bill was totally reasonable and fair. Not impressive experience at all. See the high google rate and went to this place. My lenovo laptop has a sudden shut down issue. Brought to Paul and returned to me in two days. Told me he wasn't able to diagnose the causes but did some "optimization" on my laptop and charged me $ 145. The sudden shut down still happens. Brought back my laptop and he said try a re-install the operating system. The sudden shutdown still exists and the re-installed system cannot complete an update! Everytime I restart my laptop, it goes into update and failed, which took ages. I have to re-install the operating system by myself one more time. The sudden shut down still exists.... Very disappointing experience and will not use this place to fix computers.

My 4 year old laptop had developed a pretty serious hardware related issue, the factory solder was failing. After making a few inquiries about the issue with different outlets it was clear Paul at UHelpCo had a better understanding of the issue. Instead of having to replace some expensive components Paul was confident he would be able to repair the issue even though it would have been much easier for him to replace with new parts. This repair was performed successfully at a fraction of the quoted pricing I received elsewhere. Additionally Paul performed the service promptly and had my computer fixed within 24 hours. It's hard to compare the level of service you will receive from UHelpCo with having to go into a busy store and wait around for hours or mailing in your computer and waiting for a few weeks.

My Macbook Pro 2011 crashed and Paul was able to take it that evening. The hard drive was damaged and he replaced it with an newer, faster drive for a reasonable price. He is responsive to email and gets back to you within 2-3 hours. Very satisfied overall, I'd definitely go to Paul again in the future.

Amazing experience with UHelpCo!! I called at 8.30 am after my MacBook failed to turn on the evening before. I met with Paul within 45 minutes of the initial phone call, where I was assured that my files (the most recent back-up of the FINAL draft of my masters thesis) would be recovered. I was told that I could pick up my computer the next day, but at 1pm I was surprised by a phone call that said my computer was ready for pick up at 2pm the same day!! Absolutely stellar customer service, fast and skilled work, and very reasonably priced. My laptop has been fixed by another Kitsilano repair shop, due to its close proximity to my work place, but I will now only call Paul! The other repair shop had said that my problem was $800 or more to fix. Not to mention the Apple Store said that "I should just buy a new computer" (Apple's answer to every problem).
