I called this business with questions and problems about Windows 10, the Admin account on my laptop, and issues with Office 2019, my outlook account, Skype, anti-virus, malware, firewalls, etc. Juan was generous with his time helping me understand what the issues were. I followed his recommendations and left feeling reassured and safe online. I saved time and money by bringing my two laptops in for check-up and hardware upgrade. I was looking at a higher end desktop capable of 3D rendering and they were very good at sourcing what they had, given a shortage of graphics cards When I asked to explain the difference between an i5, i7 an i9 and the generations, I was told "go check the intel website, they explain everything there" I consider that unacceptable, they are the experts and I needed information and advice, please don't make me do the work, otherwise I'll research and order online I have now gone elsewhere even though I wanted to buy local Shame on them

Dropped off my computer a few weeks back for a servicing. I was having issues with my Microsoft Excel which I've purchased under 2 years ago. For some reason it was asking me to reinstall the program or to purchase it again. I brought the computer in for Servicing so that the professionals could figure out what was going on as I'm not a computer guy. Well it cost me over $200 to get this problem supposedly fixed. Picked my computer up on my way to work this morning once at work about 20 minutes after picking it up I started the computer up and wouldn't you know it same problem as when I dropped the computer off! After speaking to the computer tech that worked on it I was told he is only human and makes mistakes also! Are you kidding me.... Well I'm sorry when you pay to get a servicing done and are told it's done it should be done human or not this is unacceptable. Now he did suggest a solution to resolving my issue but this is up to me to find the time to sit down and have him take over my computer remotely! Again after I've already spent the time and money on something that was supposed to be fixed the first time around and was told it was ready for pickup. Just a little heads up too my fellow consumers! Not sure if it's a good idea giving someone business that don't back the service they are providing. Sincerely one very disappointed customer!

I had an external drive begin failing and was unable to extract most of the data. I wasn't much hopeful that anything could be done but these guys managed to get everything on to another drive and both people I dealt with were professional and helpful. The price of the recovery was also very reasonable. I can't thank you all enough as there were a lot of pictures of our dog who had passed away that we thought we had lost forever.

I was so pleased with the service and professionalism shown by Alex one of the technicians at North Bay Computer Services. My hard drive crashed and he made me aware there was no way of obtaining my pictures off of the hard drive. He then went on to troubleshoot and found that it that there was in fact a way to salvage my pictures. I know it sounds silly but I am a very emotional person and to know that I have lost years and years of personal photos without having them backed up anywhere else was devastating to me. When he called me back saying that he was able to fix my computer and save my pictures I was over the moon. I brought my computer in for a diagnostic because the game I was playing was constantly crashing it which I explained to them. After 2 days to diagnose they said that my hard drive was failing and it was running at high temperatures. They estimated repairs at $420 and no mention of the game crashing. I picked it up for a second opinion. I took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy and explained the same things to them. It took 1 day for the diagnostic. The results where that the hard drive "was not" failing and the temperature was just fine. They said that my computer was running perfectly. They even fixed the reason for the game crashing. Not sure what happened at Computer Services but I will never bring anything there again.

Customer service is very lacking at this establishment. We received a call saying our iPad was ready and they just needed the password to make sure the screen was working. We travelled from mattawa to north bay to pick it up. Once there the iPad was in the exact state as when we dropped it off and one of the service techs said that they never said it was ready and they need the password to do a diagnosis. Although the diagnosis was offered to us we didn’t pay for one and one was not suppose to be done on the iPad. They people working there are very lost and do not know how to follow protocol and have absolutely no service skills. The owner was very friendly but never followed up with anything he said he was going to do. The repair was estimated to be a few days into the next week and ended up taking a week and half. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT

If zero stars was an option, rest assured this review would be zero stars.I have never been treated so poorly by a company in my entire life. After taking my desktop in for routine maintenance, blow out and software cleanup ($150), my computer was returned to me completely useless. The first time turning it on it would not even run, following about 15 restarts and crashes I returned the machine to them for review. After waiting for a call that didn't come and having to reach back out to them they told me it would need to under go hardware diagnostics. I assured them I was not willing to pay for this service as these issues were non-existent before (it had literally never crashed while in my possession). It was at this point that the customer service agent began insisting this was an issue that must have began before they had the machine and that nothing they did would have caused this. They insinuated, in no uncertain terms, that I was an idiot who either didn't understand computers or had never used my own machine before because this HAD to be my fault. This conversation went in circles for 5 minutes with no indication that they were willing to eat the cost of a full diagnostic ($50) and no responsibility taken for the state they had returned my computer to me in. The computer will certainly have to be replaced. I will never do business with this company again and will actively advise friends, family, and strangers to do the same. UPDATE: North Bay Computer Services Employee Handbook Step 1. Receive a functioning computer and perform a tune up (which you offer and charge $100 for but do not stand by). Step 2. Return computer in significantly worse condition than provided, customer service agents response is, in summary, "we told you so". Demand more money to fix new issues. Step 3. Blame customer, blame customers voicemail, pretend to know about non-existent "hardware" issues and claim to have had supernatural powers of knowing these existed when computer was initially dropped off. Step 4. Profit??

We went in to get our iPad fixed. Screen cracked but still working. They required a $50 diagnostic fee before they accepted it. ?screen is cracked, there's your problem. Okay, my wife paid the fee. No issues arose on the "diagnostic screen." Get a call later, apparently the ipad couldn't be fixed. Went in to pick it up and the thing was in like 5 pieces, screen completely shattered, completely non-functional. We lost pictures and videos of our kid that were on it. They did not let us know that this was a possibility! To top it off I got a parking ticket out front while I was there trying to get our busted ipad back from them for the 5 minutes I was in there arguing with them! They were less than apologetic or sympathetic the entire process. They wouldn't even give me back the ipad because I wasn't listed on the intake form, but my wife was too angry/upset to even come in. We wanted to support a local downtown business, that we have actually used in the past with success, but this experience was absolutely terrible. I wouldn't trust them, or at least be aware that a cracked screen repair can result in a complete destruction/unusable device that they charge you $50 for.

Be wary of NBCS if you have an Apple computer. My MacBook Pro had a shot video card, brought it here and $45 later NBCS's only solution was to try and sell me a used MBP that needed over $500 of upgrades for a total of $1500. Did some research and turns out Apple put out a 4 year extension warranty on my specific problem. I called Apple and they sent me to Core Computers, JJ plugged it in and within 5 minutes she knew exactly what was what and they repaired my machine in under a week... for FREE! Now that's service, NBCS should take note. Even without Apple's warranty extension a GPU can be re-balled (by professionals) for under $400 apparently. This was never mentioned at NBCS.

When presented with solutions to my problem, I was not pressured into selecting the most costly option which in this case was a complete laptop replacement. After choosing to have my mechanical hard drive upgraded to SSD, I have a lightning speed laptop that operates like new. I am very happy with the outcome. This is not the first interaction I've had with this local company and it will not be my last.

These guys are not as good as people would like to think. I have a custom Built PC and it was a nightmare. Initially, the issue was a hardware malfunction. I made them very much aware of how I came to this conclusion, through appropriate diagnostics. They charged me 50$ for this then another $100 to fix an unrelated issue. To no surprise, I paid $150 for a fix that didn't exist. When I asked for rectification. No one took responsibility. They later tell me that it is in fact a hardware concern. They took my whole PC apart and didn't even properly put it back together. They left both my 256MB SSD and my 1 TB hard drive, unmounted. This later caused about 15-16 blue screens. How would this cause this? Simple, a PC requires minimal resistance in power currency so that this way no timings get screwed up. Like a timing belt in a vehicle. What they did would be like your mechanic taking apart your car and forgetting to put your timing belts on properly. Super unprofessional behavior to boot. Their receptionist started bantering VERY unprofessionally about the North Bay community as well as the people in this community. Claiming of lower intelligence individuals. Overall I would never go back to these guys for a concern on something. They have no idea what they are doing outside of Computers that come from Best buy or forms of pre-builds

I spilt water on my Laptop and first went to a local competitor where they told me I need a completely new motherboard which cost 600$ and 8 weeks delivery. Later took it to these guys who put it through ultrasonic cleaning and it cost me just over 200$ and took about a week from dropoff to pickup. Runs perfectly now, would definitely recommend.

I just want to dish out some compliments regarding the support I get from North Bay Computer Services. I have an account with North Bay Computer Services whereby I pay $27.12 a month. I want you to know I get full value for that payment. For example, yesterday I was having trouble in my connection in an international meeting online (GoToMeeting). They could see me, I could hear them but they couldn’t hear me. When I called North Bay Computer Services and went on remote service the problem was resolved. Full value!! I also want to let you know that I am a satisfied customer and when I need a new computer and/or computer parts I have no hesitation in saying I will be buying from North Bay Computer Services. I rely on my computer for all kinds of applications not to mention I serve on two international board of directors. It is reassuring to me that I have backup services when I experience techy problems that are dependable and effective. Thank you Yann and Staff for all your support.
