Absolutely Terrible customer service from Geek Squad. Try to file a claim for the insurance coverage of my phone. Info I was given doesn't work online to file a claim. So I call in to get help only to be transferred through every department until finally I am told I have to put a deposit down of double the cost of the phone. Other option to just mail mine in and wait to get it back. Apparently it's beyond their capabilities to just take it into a geek squad location in person as no one their knows how to use a courier service. When I tired of dealing with a rep that just kept repeating the same statement and ask for a manager or supervisor I get told they don't have any and I can wait for a callback 24-48hrs later. The call back came 4 days later and only to have the rep who called me back tell me that I am wrong and the people I spoke to did not say they would call me back 24-48 hrs later. And after it all they still refused to apologize and file my claim and kept stating that I am wrong and was not told I would receive a call back in that time frame. Never use this service they do nothing to help or accommodate what you have been paying for.

I purchased a tablet for my sister who is new to technology and paid for Geek Squad coverage. When asking for a short training session upon setting up the tablet I was told it would be a extra $50. and we would have to come back later. We came back the next day and were advised they don't provide training. I requested my $50. be returned and they complied but didn't explain why I was charged in the first place. I also requested advice on my own tablet and was told nothing could be done to fix my issue. I left and called my nephew who fixed the issue immediately. I am not at all impressed with Geek Squad.

This service is useless for mobile phones. They say they cover damage and accidental spills. Thought my phone had water damage as I dropped it in the snow ( it didn't it was a software update error that corrected itself). Called geek squad and told them the issue and said it may have water damage they said no problem if it does it will be a fee to fix. I responded by saying a fee I thought you fixed accidental damage they said we do for a fee of $230 plus tax. Total waste of service save money and go with your phone providers service.

The screen replacement on my laptop was done well and ensuring safety of it being delivered was good. The shipping to my address was bad. Put my correct street address and postal code but wrong city/town. I had to drive 30 minutes to go get it.

Not happy watch out everytime u buy a phone for 2 years they will add 3 year coverage so then when u go buy another phone it doubles over for one year! Watch out going out door is $170 per year theft pure and simple!

Tried to call to get an update on my computer getting fixed but was told there is NO WAY TO CONTACT A STORE DIRECTLY and that if I needed a Geek Squad update I had to physically go to the store to ask! Terrible customer service especially during a pandemic!

I would leave a negative review if I could. These guys essentially spent 2 weeks trying to 'fix' my imac when it was really just a hardware issue that took Simply Computing a weekend to fix with no stress. Geek squad lied saying it was a malware issue when it was no where close to that at all. They literally lied and claim to be 'computer experts' but spend 2 weeks fiddling their thumbs A. not knowing what to do and B. lying about it. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

Super helpful. Brought my work laptop in for a simple upgrade but something went wrong and they had to send it in for repairs and diagnostics. They gave me a complimentary laptop so that I can complete my work.

had a month long battle with them to get my computer repaired when they quoted me just over a week to do it, hidden fees in small fine print that they never mentioned, after a month they finally told me my computer was not repairable so I finished in the same place I had started. Sent it directly to Asus who used express shipping and had it repaired in under a week and back to me days later.

I work from home and i study on my laptop. One day i decided to change my laptop HDD to SSD so i went to best buy. I purchased an SSD and paid extra 50$ for installation for it to geek squad. I was told it will be ready by tomorrow and will give you call once its done. So i got a call and i went there to pickup. They hand the laptop to me saying the job is done. I went home and opened my laptop. The laptop body is ruined, they used wrong screws to install parts on my laptop and the screws came out of the body on the screen side and there is a dead pixel on the screen with some scratches now. The track pad wasn't working as it wasn't fitted properly, it almost popped out of the place and made it unclickable. so i went back to best buy and the guys were like we cant do anything, i have to send this laptop to manufacture to replace the body. also, they dead pixel is not our fault. They wanted me to wait for almost 3 weeks so they can fix the issue that they created at first place. i kept my cool and asked for a loaner laptop (i was told NO at first until i talked with the manager) the manager gave me a chromebook , seriously a chromebook? I study cybersecurity and i run virtual machine on my laptop i need a windows or mac based computer to do my study. The manager said i cant do anything about it but give you a chromebook. The manager is really rude and she has no idea what she is doing there. Now i dont have my laptop for 3 weeks, i cant study for 3 weeks, they probably wont fix the dead pixel issue they created. i just hate this company so much now. I mean they dont have value for your time nor they care what can affect you for loosing your stuff (which is not even your fault). I wish i could send this message to higher level to resolve this issue sooner or atleast give me a good laptop to study. i will never buy a single thing from best buy , i just lost faith in you, i am very disappointed. I just want my laptop back with issue fixed. i cant wait for 3 weeks . i didnt have job for last 8 months and i very upset with my life right now. dealing with this company made me more upset. I never cried since last 10 years, i really cried infront of the geek squad staff and they said "we can not do anything" even though they are the one who ruined my laptop. They put a different screw that doesnt even belongs to this laptop.. i mean how can i trust them, what if they changed my hardware and put something old or faulty one. Best buy and geek squad sure are scammers. :(

Honestly such a bad experience with this company. My laptop had a cracked screen and I brought it in the same day for repairs. It is a month later and I still have not received my computer back. They took two weeks to give me an update, in which they hadn't even started the repairs. One the phone they let me know that they didn't have the part required to fix it, so I would have to pay double what was quoted if I wanted it fixed. The online tracking has never been kept up to date, the last "update" was given three weeks ago to let me know it was in the facility. I am now paying $400 and it has taken over a month to get this back. I would have rather just bought a new computer all together if I knew this was the service I would receive. Would recommend going somewhere local instead.

Took my MacBook here to try and have malware removed from it. Spent $30 for them to run a program and remove what they could but it was unsuccessful. I received a phone call with a request to back up, wipe and reinstall my operating system. They wanted $229. I picked my computer up and took it to the Apple store in Newmarket to have the same thing completed for free. I get that geek squad is a business but I find that price a little too steep for what I say and waited for the Apple store to complete. I caution you to do your homework before just turning your computer over to Geek squad!!!

I was told that it's "almost impossible" to get the photos off my damaged SD card (one of the gold "teeth" was broken, the rest of the card was OK) and that it'd be a charge of $199 to attempt. I'd have to pay that whether they were successful or not. They didn't ask for any pictures or any further info on how it was damaged. It didn't feel right, so I decided to check elsewhere. After contacting SanDisk themselves, they directed me to a company that also does recovery. They said they only charge if they are able to recover the pictures (which IMO how it should be) and would be $150.00, not $199.. They requested a picture and once they saw the damage, had a fairly easy solution to fix it myself and gave me instructions to do so, no charge. So I feel like Geek Squad are just trying to make as much money off you as possible, even if they might not even be able to help you in the end. Definitely left a bad impression.

First of all, if you call them they will completely waste your time by transferring you to 6 different agents before you speak with the right person. I've been on hold for an hour and a half and they keep transferring me to the wrong department. I sent my phone in to be repaired and they sent it back saying "no problem found". As soon as i got my phone back the screen started flickering and causing me problems again. They charged me 226$ to do absolutely nothing and sent me back my same phone. Now I can't get anyone on the phone who will help me with my phone and they want me to submit a new claim...which means another 226$ to possibly do nothing again. I will NEVER use this service ever again. DO NOT use Geek squad for phone insurance. They are absolutely useless, their representatives are not helpful what so ever and all they do is waste your time and money.

They were supposed to show up between 9 and 2. I waited until 2:30 and then called to see if they were comin . I was told they had no idea why no one showed and all I could do was re- schedule. No apologies, no compensation for my time. So now I will have to waste another 5 hrs waiting for this garbage service.

I bought 2 phones and paid 35$ a month for 2 whole years! The time came when my phone screen broke and I wanted to submit a claim. They told me it would be another 200$ to get it fixed and would take weeks. I was not made aware of this when I purchased the phones. Do NOT fall for this SCAM. Biggest waste of money I have ever had. They would rather loose customers (like they just did with me), then help someone who was loyal to them and always made payments on time.

Worst customer service experience I've ever had! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I've been waiting over a week now for a call back from a manager. I was screamed at and verbally abused by staff, tried reporting it but my attempts have gone unanswered. The manufacturer is willing to help more than these scam artist. I literally feel taken by geek squad and best buy. Will never shop at best buy again. I live an hour from their facility, my package still hasn't arrived after being in transit for a week. I paid for a service they aren't providing, is this not theft?!

I am never using them again. You cannot get through on phone. They do not readily publish their phone number. I put laptop in for repair and not hearing from them in 4 days I put in work order # which was not accepted so i had to go to the store to find out if my laptop was ready. So frustrated!!!!!!!

I bought a 4K TV and paid extra to get it calibrated. I just recently signed up for Netflix to get 4K contents and found out that the calibration did not work for 4K videos and the picture is very dark. I called Geek Squad and they said my calibration was done more than 90 days ago (it was 4 months ago) so I would need to pay another $300 for a Tech to come out and check the calibration settings. This is disappointing because the calibration setting is locked and only Geek Squad can unlock and fix it. I won't be using this service again.

I have never been so frustrated trying to get answers on where my computer is. Why can't I just call the store? No, I have to call an 800 number and wait for a human and then after several minutes I get some foreigner who can hardly speak english and who then hangs up.on me.

I was at the Geek Squad desk at Best Buy in Prince Albert SK at 5:00 p.m. on Friday 4 September 2020 with several problems with my laptop including a password lock out and an Outlook app which was causing problems. The tech analyst who assisted me, Patrick Remy, provided excellent service, far exceeding my expectations. He not only resolved all of my issues but did so in an expert and insightful way. He is an superb communicator and problem solver. As a retired IT project manager myself, I am very impressed that Best Buy Geek Squad Prince Albert has such high performers on their staff. We will make a point of going there for our future technology and entertainment system needs. Thank you!

Absolutely rubbish service. I made the mistake of visiting them twice. They charged me for geek squad on my card even though I never bought anything from them. Now I am having to run around and cannot even seem get solutions, Paying $21.68 for the service I never took.

My husband and I visited Torin at "The Geek Squad" in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan today. We were having difficulty with our email account. Torin spent longer than we would expect with us. He was very knowledgeable, professional, kind and polite. As seniors we so appreciated his time and patience with us. One star because none is available. 1 year ago bought $ 4,500.00 of new appliances. Bosch dishwasher has started to have a bad odour. Called Geek Squad, told problem, no response for 2 weeks. Finally, received local call, they will replace, but I have to pay $199 for reinstall and...wait for it. .. my insurance no longer valid, must pay for another policy if I wish. My response...just want to have someone come out and look at it...their response....no one in Kamloops that they sub contract to do can do Bosch repairs. Honest! They encourage you to buy a policy they can't fufil. Had go round with Corporate Geeks, and store, same response. Store manager was unhelpful, and had no concept of customer relations. Probably felt I was unreasonable in actually expecting someone might be able to look at problem without replacing and adding extra costs. My take.....Stay away from Best Buy, do NOT buy Geek Squad protection. Save yourself some grief.

Took my HP laptop here a few years ago after thinking it was toast due to contact with liquid but in fact it actually just needed updates (quick backstory). So, this gentlemen working there who was basically like a robot with no emotions tells me its my motherboard and would cost like $1300. I left there defeated and eventually thought to call Costco where I purchased it from. They helped me reset and update it over the phone and it has worked fine ever since. To think I got this geek squad worker for gave me false info almost costing me $1300 was sickening after the fact. Also, my mom used to pay for this service and every time she had issues with her mac they would not fix the problem/be helpful. Geek Squad sucks and there is a reason they have really bad reviews. Go elsewhere.
