Lord, this is one of my only negative reviews but I gotta spill the beans girl. So, I tried to repair my computer at home, had some problems and needed a professional's help. The guy who helped me at the front was nice enough, but didn't understand PC stuff at all and left some really bad notes. This then cascaded to then the technician getting confused and pretty snippy in the notes I recieved back from him about the work that was done. Took a week and a half for a "1-2 day max problem". Paid $175 in just labor costs for what ended up not actually fixing much at all. Took it down the street to Memory Express and repair and the piece to be replaced just came to $80. 2 stars because people working the front were nice, and maybe they do understand phones. But, if I wanted to drop almost $200 and be disappointed, I'd just reinstall Tinder. Update after owner response: I told you guys I had done the, poorly, but still done removal of my cpu fan. "Ripped" is aggressive wording for removing 1 piece of a larger system. ive received opinions, saying the repair was overpriced but let's focus on why your poor Memory Expresses. I dropped it off on a Wednesday and was told Thursday, I said even that Friday would be okay. I picked it up the following Friday. How that counts as "4 days" for you, you must've been counting your work days as an owner. My apologies for the lack of clear communication you seem to despretely need. I knew the part that needed to be replaced, I said that from the get go, my video card which was already bad. I was also aware I needed another piece replaced when I had partially dismounted my cpu fan. The part the confused me the most. I just want the CPU fan remounted and I'd continue to do the rest myself. Whoever took the PC in the beginning clearly had no idea what I meant when I asked to put a crucial piece back on. You also said "Replace with a better part than the broken one" referring to the CPU. It was better in the fact it was working. But it was worse specs than what I already have. If, Mike, you've ever had a PC, you'd quickly see when youre looking to repair and upgrade, spending 150 for a worse card than what you had, and then spending another 350 for the next model, why, then I'd be wasting even more money. I'd much rather not reach out to you again, it was expensive before and it's annoying now. Regarding my comment being "unacceptable". The only thing really unacceptable here is a sad lack of commons sense, over abundance of self importance and general knowledge of an industry you own several stores in. Give the shop back to your father or whoever you inherited from, they'll do better.

I've since changed my rating from a 1 to a 5 (through no obligation to Crackerz) My original review: I have had a fairly inadequate experience with Crackerz so far. I dropped off a tablet to have the screen repaired and they weren't able to provide me with a quote due to someone not being there. I was told I would be called the next day with a quote and to confirm whether I would have them repair it or not. No call. A couple days later I call them to find out what's going on and they still don't know the cost since the guy isn't in and they're shorthanded. I gave them my info and was promised a call back the next day. No call again. A couple days later I call them again to find out what's happening and finally get the information I was after. I was 50/50 between taking my business else where I'm not familiar with the business plan where you avoid your customers and delay providing customer service, I wonder how that will work out.

Tried to return a router. Called in first. Said I could bring it in for cash. They asked a few questions and then said to bring it in. So I drove down. Took them 20 minutes to look at it, then said they couldn't buy it because it belonged to Shaw. Seems like a standard question they should have asked when I called in BEFORE taking 40 minutes out of my day to drive there, wait around and then drive back. Yikes! Replying to response from Crackers: Oh dear. Here we go. Well, you probably could have told me what it was upon arrival. Obviously I'm not a tech person because I clearly don't know the difference between a modem and a router. Arguing with me over a response is pretty unprofessional in my opinion. Have a good day.

Took my iPad gen 8 in for screen replacement. The new screen did not work well with my stylus pen. They tried a screen protector and tried a different screen supplier (first attempt with new supplier had a dead pixel), 3 screens later and it’s fixed! Moral of the story is that Crackerz did EVERYTHING they could to make it right. Highly recommended - they stand behind their work. Thank you!!

They have great service and plenty of things inside for your electronics inside. My iPhone 6 that I had completely utterly shattered was covered in marks, images would burn onto the screen, at random moments my phone would freak out and start pushing stuff on the screen, and I could barely use it. I took it to crackerz and 45 minutes later it’s good as new. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and all the one-star reviews are children who had a bad experience and like holding grudges

The staff is very friendly and efficient. It is easy to recommend the store if you need to have a device repaired. I can't speak for all locations but the Langley location is fantastic. I took a unlocked LG g4 that was in mint condition to sell and was given a ridiculously lowball offer of $100. At the same time there was another customer who had just paid over $400 for the same phone. I get that that's how they make money but it's an absolute rip off. Better off going to guildford mall or anywhere else than this place. Even selling it on ebay or Craigslist is much more worth it than coming here.

Took my S7 edge into the store today to get a SIM Holder replacement. Walked in, informed them of exactly what I was looking for and they said that they probably had one... Now, I went out to my truck to grab my other phone to swap SIMS ***have swapped multiple times last week with 0 issues*** For some reason instead of pulling out the product I asked for one younger employee takes my device to the back. I don’t know if they just have a bucket with 900000000 holders in it. But he comes back out saying he had good news and bad news. Typical start to know you’re about to take it up the you know that... says I have a sim holder. But the inside of your phone has something inside of it... I said impossible, I did it 2 days ago and put it back into the case. But lost the holder, also changed multiple times with no issue. Then he said that it looked like rice or something ( common trick for trying to dry out a phone ). However, with an S7 Edge it happens to be a water resistant phone. So no need for rice... So, instead of just getting the part online and waiting. I tried locally. Now it’s going to cost me way more than just 10.00. Thanks guys!

Wonderful store! Brought in my Google Pixel 2 with a cracked screen from longboarding at a park, and they worked quick to replace it. Staff were approachable, knowledgeable, and overall pleasant to deal with during the process, even going as far as to knock down the price as much as they could. At the end of the day, they offered me a slightly damaged (less so than before, tiny chip in the corner) screen, a screen protector, and various other fixes for zero cost, alongside any accessory I would like for 20% off! (They will be replacing the screen with a better one at a later date they told me as well). I will definitely be returning to this location for any and all issues, and will be referring my friends and family to them as well! Thank you all so much!!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. If there was a NO STAR option, I'd rate it that. ZERO STAR. I will not go back. First I tried calling 1.5 hrs prior to close. The recording says please wait for the next available representative, then goes to 'no one available at this time' and hangs up. So, being on the way to the highway I decide to swing by to see if they're open. They are, so I go inside. There is a round brunette at the counter helping her teacher from school, an elderly man and myself. The girl working doesn't acknowledge me which is fine as I figure she's busy. While waiting, another guy comes in and stands in front of the other man and myself. She says hi to him and helps him immediately. The other man ahead of me then gets served, and then she goes back to helping the first lady. A fourth guy comes in and get served immediately. I sat in the same spot looking at the girl waiting for her to say something, as CLEARLY was there before the other 2 men were, and given there's nothing on the display table, I wasn't there to take in the view. I got up and left the store after this poor display. I cant even call it POOR customer service as there WAS ZERO SERVICE!? The place is a joke as far as I'm concerned. Everyone I know has a cell phone and I'll be telling everyone to steer clear of this place.

The service was top notch, phone fixed within 30 minutes, no problems whatsoever. I took away one star for price. I had the same screen replaced( Nexus 5) 7 months ago at Crystal mall in Burnaby for 110$ including Tax( you can usually Negotiate a price there) took them about an hour. At Crackerz the same Job was 168 Taxes in.

I had a phone screen replaced here. The replacement was fine and is working now. However I was given somebody else's phone and I did not realize until I got home and was unable to unlock it. Whoever spoke to on the phone at Crackerz was quite insistent that there was no pin on the device despite my assurances that I was looking directly at it requesting a pin before admitting he made a mistake and gave me someone else's phone. I was able to return to the store and get my phone back but this was a hassle that should not have happened in the first place. Yes these devices do look similar/identical but a big part of Crackerz's job should be correctly labeling and identifying devices so the correct owner get the correct phone. Edit: I spoke with Mike and he has rectified the situation to my satisfaction. I believe this incident was a once-off human error and will visit Crackerz again if need cell phone repair.

Normally, when having a issue, I would give a lower rating. We came to Crackerz with a iPad 2 mini with a broken screen. They replaced the screen in a short amount of time and was overall friendly to deal with. Apon brining the tablet home we noticed that the screen was starting to lift on one of the corners. We contacted Crackerz and within the same day they had it repaired and provided a good explanation of why it happedned. They provide very prompt service at a reasonable price and definitely stand behind there work! We are very happy with the service provided by Crackerz.

It would have cost me the same or less for a used phone that was fully functional but after all that money, my camera now doesn't focus properly.

I took my 2013 MacBook Pro into Crackerz after reading reviews of all local repair shops. They totally lived up to my expectations. I had my battery replaced and they soldered loose connections on the board, fixing the laptop from shutting down every 5 minutes. I found their service very professional and trustworthy ... and I am a hard sell. They did exactly as promised when I went in for initial assessment. These guys are top shelf and I highly recommend their services!

I got my iPhone screen fixed at Crackerz 3 weeks ago, they charged me over $200. I also paid the extra for them to put on a glass screen protector. Today I dropped my phone for the first time since the repair (I also have a case on my phone). It was a 3-4 foot drop in the grocery store, nothing huge. The $200 screen bubbled off my phone, chipped and cracked. When I called them to see what they would do for me seeing as this definitely should not have happened with their brand new screen and screen protector, they told me they would do nothing for me as they can’t guarantee the severity of the drop or the way it dropped. This is so disappointing. Please get your screens fixed by your phone company, at least they will stand behind their service and products.

So disappointed with my experience at this store. I brought in my phone with a broken screen but a perfectly fine working home button. After they changed the screen the home button stopped working. They put my cracked screen back on and the home button still wasn't working. Then when I became frustrated that my phone was now in worse condition that what I brought it in they said "I could be lying" which is insulting. They gave me a refund but no compensation for my now more damaged phone that I cannot use and took no responsibility.

By far the best place to go to get laptop repairs! And they have the absolute best prices! I took my laptop to the shop in the mall to get some water damage fixed and they charged me 1700. And at crackerz it was only around 300!!! You guys are the best !

I turned off my macbook one morning, and it wouldn't start again! I thought I was going to have to buy a new computer. They looked at it for a few days, figured out the problem, and fixed it for a couple hundred bucks, savings me nearly 2g on a new computer. Top notch service. I've taken my phones there over the years for screen repair, but this was my first time using their services for a computer. While I wouldn't take a macbook there during it's warranty (as it would void it,) my macbook is from 2015, well past it's warranty. I'll never take it anywhere else!

Sell your phone yourself!! Don't go here to sell or buy your phone. I went here to trade in my mint condition Note 5. I was offered $50 bucks cash " take it or leave it". When I mentioned that Samsung offered $90 online and the crackerz website states " guaranteed to beat any other offers on phones" the manager said " well we have to refurbish the phone then I'll be lucky to get $150" Crackerz refused to stand by their own websites guarantee. The manager told me " well I'm sorry you interpreted the guarantee that way" ?! ( It's not my interpretation moron, it's what your website says in black and white) Anyway, I went to bestbuy and the phone guys there told me they would give me $110 dollars, but then suggested I just sell the phone myself online as it's worth at least $300. ( A+ to bestbuy for customer service, I will shop there again) I was shocked when I checked online and confirmed my same phone is worth $300+. I posted my phone on the Facebook market place and sold it for $275 in one hour. Crackerz is no better then a bottom feeder pawn shop.. I understand they have to make a profit, but c'mon $50 dollars for a $300 dollar phone? Furthermore the customer service was absolute garbage. The Manager made it seem like he just walked from Mt.Everest to grace me with his presence at the front counter.. go back to your cheeto bowl, mountain dew and dragonball z shows in the back room bud, you suck and so do your customer service skills. You could have offered me $100 ( i would have taken it) and still made $200 profit in an hour.. but now you get no money and one less customer... good job...

paid 250$ for new phone screen to fix a green line i had. never got a receit, should have asked because they did not even have me in the system, month later lines back and now they said that because i have glue on my phone screen and a crack (which is how it was returned to me!!!!) that it cant be covered. when i said that this was how it was returned to me i was told i shouldn't have taken it, my fault for being trusting.

I have only positive feedback for Crackerz. They upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and set it up to my satisfaction. My next visit was to buy a used mini iPad. Again, helpful staff. My last visit was to fix my laptop which had gone to tablet mode from desktop mode (no idea how that happened). I Googled, made a change in settings but didn't know I had to restart to activate it. I took my cellphone in to have the battery replaced and was told it would take one hour. Went back an hour later and, as promised, my phone was ready with the new battery. Service was fast, friendly, and so reasonably priced. The store is clean and large enough to allow social distancing and staff members wear masks. Don't waste your time trying to replace your battery yourself and risk doing something wrong. For a few dollars more, let the pros at Crackerz take care of it. I will certainly be bringing my devices here in future and will be sending family and friends here as well.

They try to cheat people. As I was went to upgrade my Acer ryzen 5 with SSD 512 GB + RAM from 8 GB to 16 GB. The technician told me after deep analysis that i can only upgrade it to 1 GB for SSD and that too with 2.5" Which will replace the 1 TB HDD. Also I need to get 2 8 GB to make it 16 GB as currently it has 4 GB + 4 GB which is completely a false information. I get these upgrades myself by buying the parts from another store at 218.46 CAD where they were asking for CAD 620 approximately. Morale of the story think twice. I am an international student in this country and have limited budget. I believe we should stay away from these money sharks.

Beware! Very deceptive business. I took my phone in to retrieve photos and contact info after my screen turned white. They said for $120 they would do that, and that for $220 they would replace the screen, but that they didn't have a screen in stock and would have to order one, which would take 10 days. I needed the contacts so I just opted to retrieve the data. 20 mins later they said they were just putting it together, so I paid the bill and the salesman went in the back to get the phone. I could see the tech in the back talking to the salesman about my phone as he kept looking down and pointing at it. Shortly after the salesman comes out and says "good news, we found a screen in the back. We had 1 left in stock". He then proceeds to try and sell it to me for $220. I said no thanks, because the phone was only a few months old and I thought I'd try to get it repaired or replaced under warranty first before I pay to have it fixed. The salesman then went back and spoke to the tech again, and I could sense something was up. It was VERY obvious. Then the salesman comes out with my phone and says, "you know what's weird? We put the phone back together and it just started working". The bottom line is that they didn't have a replacement screen and when they put the phone back together after retrieving my pictures and contacts, they turned the phone on and it worked, and rather than do the right thing and tell me the truth, they tried to make another $220 for nothing by trying to sell me my own screen. That's very disturbing, deceptive and shady. Aside from that, the girl that works at the front is horrible. She was just sitting there on her phone texting/tweeting etc the entire time I was in the store, and when I would ask her a question, she would look like she was totally annoyed that I was interrupting what she was doing on her phone and give me a short snarky answer. A good word to describe her would rhyme with "itch". I will never go back. As a business owner myself, my advice to Crackerz... fire the girl, and try to have a bit of integrity in situations like this. Its a good way to get repeat customers. Update: as far as the "owners response". You say $80 but it was $80+ the memory stick I had to buy to put it on, plus tax, which, like I already said was approximately $120. That, and you didn't repair my screen or get it running. After the guy backed up the data, he just put the phone back together and it started working on its own, and you explained that to me very clearly, and you didn't know what had caused the screen to go white, if it would do it again, or what it would take to fix it. You said it just started working, and that it might be a sign the chip is broken. So you didn't fix or get anything running. The phone did that on its own. Lastly... please don't insult my intelligence by saying you just happened to find a screen from another phone you had laying around. You backed up the data, and you went back to talk to the tech and said he was just putting the phone back together, and so while he was doing that I paid, and then you went to the back to get the phone for me (so it was already back together at that point) and then you had that confusing moment with the tech and then came back out (when the phone was already together and obviously working) and said "hey we just happen to have found a screen for your phone". You were up front where I was the whole time, and so was the girl working there. The entire time, the tech was just sitting there working on the phone and I could see him, so NO ONE was looking for a screen. So don't lie and write BS on here. Own up to it. Trust me... it was beyond obvious, and you should be ashamed cause that was a loser move.

I was having issues with an old phone and my family suggested giving Crackerz a call as they had utilized their services many times and told me this was the go to place. Well what a wonderful surprise when I called and Joy answered the phone, not only was she friendly but also was very interested in solving my issue. I did stop by Crackerz and I have to say I was very impressed with Joy's customer service skills as I watched her interaction with the customer that she was dealing with when I walked in. My iPhone 8 got crushed in August 2018. It had thousands of great irreplaceable photos and videos of my young children and family, which mI had not backed up with the 'cloud' or any external drives. Naturally distraught, I took it to the official Apple 'Genius' repair store - which I thought was the best place to try - but they said they couldn't do anything for me, even though I begged them just to try, and that I'd pay them lots of money for their efforts - but still they said no. They as well as several other stores told me to try a 'data extraction' company, and that it might cost me thousands of dollars. After asking at many places, I phoned "Crackerz' in Langley, and they said they would likely be able to help me. I took my phone to them, but after a few weeks, they said that they weren't able to pull off my photos - so I begged them to keep trying everything they could think of, and after another week during which they replaced the bent housing, they finally succeeded!! I was extremely relieved to get my family photos put onto a memory stick by them, and to top it off, they charged me only about $128!!!!! Not the $500 to $2000 that I was expecting!! I was quoted $80 for a new charging port and told it would take less than a hour to repair. They sold my mom a broken iPhone 4 for $80. The phone is so old, $80 is already such a rip off. My mom doesn’t know much about technology which isn’t her fault. They took advantage of that. When the phone stopped working after a day, she returned it shortly after and they didn’t refund her but bought it back for $50, which they’ll be keeping to sell to someone else. They’re cheap and manipulative. Wouldn’t recommended buying any of their products. I’m sure they have no idea what works and what doesn’t.

I brought in my laptop for repair earlier this year. After checking in on the status of the repair, I was told they didn't have my laptop anymore - it was likely destroyed without my knowledge. Due to this incident, I was sold a used laptop that started to have problems very shortly afterwards. I brought it in a couple of times for Crackerz to try and fix a laptop they sold me and the issue is still unresolved today. The laptop is not working. Now I need a new laptop after spending time and money with little to no return. I'm quite unhappy with this whole experience and for this reason I'm giving Crackerz 2 stars.

My lg g3 was boot looping so they tried to swap motherboards for 100$ but that didnt fix it so they just gave me a brand new g3 for the same price (100$). They look after you very well, couldnt be any happier with the new phone. Not impressed...my mother in law took my son there to replace his smashed IPhone 6. They told them the phone was locked to Rogers which is was not. After two calls to Rogers and two calls back to Crackerz they stilled claimed it was locked to Rogers. We had to call every carrier to find out who the phone was locked to...result different carrier. Bottom line if you are in the business of selling used/refurbished phones you should know your product it shouldn’t be up to the customer to do all this. Complete hassle especially when we called back twice...might be clue. Would rather deal with a business that knows what they are selling.
