-The best places to repair your laptop when it's out of warranty- This is the first time to repair my laptop in Vancouver and I decided to choose this is the first store to repair my laptop. As a result, the salespeople are very open minded and go straight to the problem with my laptop. Service is also very fast and nothing to complain about it.

I called to ask about the issue my laptop was having and the guy in a very good manner asked me to take it to the store and thy would do a check for free, they called me after a 1.5 days to say it was fine and that I could pick it up. They modified something very little however I had no idea how to do it myself. I really recommend their friendly service, professional, honest and reasonable:)

If I could give zero stars, I would. I’ve had to access this place to pick up packages over the course of many years and never, not once, been spoken to politely or treated nicely. Most recently I went to pick up my package and was told it was not there. Called again today and was not helped and hung up on. Would never have dealt with this place unless I had to. UPS doesn’t give you the choice of your pick up points are. Avoid at all costs.

There's no other place that I would go to to get my laptop repaired. I brought my Dell laptop to these guys, quickly dropped it off and picked it up within a couple days. They had to repair it to diagnose it and the entire process was efficient and I didn't have to worry about a thing. I tried replacing the keyboard of my Laptop since there have been several Keys missing. By doing that I bent a pin on the keyboard connector and some keys stopped working. Before I touched anything else, possibly breaking the laptop even more I rushed to Burrard Laptops. A nice young lady greeted me and I explained the problem to her. She said that she is going to inspect the problem and for that she needed the laptop until the day after. I came back the next day and she offered me to repair it for 30 Dollars. I was happy about the offer and accepted it. 20 Minutes later she got back with my Keyboard fixed. In Summary - great, nice and fast service. Couldn't be happier

Burrard Laptops was amazing! My internal hard drive disappeared so I brought it in to the shop. I was helped right away and the employee took apart my laptop right in front of me and figured out the issue (it turns out my hard drive slipped out of the casing). The employee fixed the problem, put my computer back together and I was out of the shop in under 10 minutes. He also provided the service free of charge. I will be back if I ever need laptop help. Recently scored an old ThinkPad, but the screen is malfunctioned and only turns on at angles less than 90° and goes dark past 90°. After some research Burrard Laptop came highly recommended so I called them and was greeted on the phone by Elena. I inquired about a replacement screen, and while they did not have any in stock, informed me that if I brought in my laptop that day she could turn it around in two business days. I arrived in the late afternoon and was also to be greeted by Elena, who says she remembers our call earlier that morning. I explained to her the conundrum and wondered if I needed a full screen replacement or if the wire connection was bad. Diagnosis is free, and since it was the end of the business day, Elena said she would call me the next morning to confirm. Sure enough, the next morning Elena calls and tells me the connection was bad (partially stripped casing exposing wire). She presented two options: electrical tape the wire, or replace the screen entirely, which was substantially more expensive than taping it up. I opted to tape it up and she said it would be ready for pick-up within the hour. Upon pick-up, Elena shows me the functioning screen from all angles, and I am more than satisfied. She says someone previously opened up the laptop but did not properly replace the screen wire causing friction and eventual stripping of the wire casing. I appreciate Elena's professional service from phone call to laptop pick-up—the entirety of the transaction occurred within a speedy 24hrs. Will definitely return for any future computer problems.

Every time there is something broken I come here because everywhere else in Vancouver charge fees just for estimating what happened which costs a lot. After looking at such great reviews, we brought our laptop to them because it was doing strange things making our software difficult to use. They said it was a virus problem, but rather than clean the virus, they reset the computer which caused all our installed programs to be lost. They charged us a lot of money for something we could have easily done ourselves.

I bought a Laptop from this local outfit a year ago, and whenever I have a problem, I call or stop by and they have always been extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. I stopped by this Saturday and although there was only 1 staff working, they were able to keep everyone moving along.. Brought in alienware laptop. Spent 500 to upgrade it (Inc new thermal paste ) laptop completely died 6 months later . It ran perfectly for 5 years before. I instantly thought there was going to be problems as the guy doesn't seem interested in helping just gauging you. For a simple upgrade it took a week and 3 visits and it STILL BROKE Down. I'd take it back but for the fear of losing it with the guy when he eventually tells me it wasn't his fault. 500 down the drain . You would be best just buying new . Ensure this business is open if you are trying to pick up a missed delivery package! The delivery slip that I had said they were open 7 days a week so I had someone drive me there and guess what? They are closed on Sundays! So do not try and pick up packages on Sundays! I had the package re-routed to me as I was not able to get back to this store.

This place is Awesome! The owner fixed my girlfriend's laptop very quickly. It works great now ! As a man with a big ego due to fixing all my family's tech issues growing up it was very hard for me to admit we needed professional help. I thought I knew everything about laptops. However, after many failed attempts at fixing my girlfriend's laptop, I thought "hey why not give this place a try i've driven by them for years. If they have such a big store they must have happy customers who pay them so they can pay rent" We brought the laptop in and they said they'd contact us the next day. We didn't receive any phone call the next day but we called them the day after and they informed us they knew what was wrong. 2 days later we picked up a working laptop!

My laptop stopped turning on after setting Windows 10 as the default operating system and I needed this looked at asap. I brought it into the store and while they had a 1 day turnaround time, I explained the issue and they looked at it right away. Within 5 minutes they fixed the issue and didn't even charge me. My laptop screen had loose hinges so I called ahead to get a quote. They told me $50. Then I called The Hackery since it was the other most recommended place. They quoted me $90 (minimum). So it was off to Burrard I go. I get there, and the nice lady at the front tells me to give her 15 minutes while she takes my laptop to the back. I'm thinking they need to inspect the parts to give a more accurate quote since my laptop isn't very common. 10 minutes later, she comes out and hands me my laptop with the hinges tightened. I ask her, "how much?" "Don't worry about it," she says. So now I am writing this review to let everyone know how awesome they are.

Terrible service. Went here to get a quote on a laptop fix. A man (maybe late 20's) took it in the back to open it up and see. Came back with a quote, I decided to shop around as this was my first stop and politely explained this. He went in the back and got the laptop screws still off and rolling around on top of the unscrewed back cover. Couldn't even take a moment to fasten it back properly. Won't be back.

Dropped laptop off on Thursday afternoon, got a quote Friday afternoon. Alex said to wait for my screen to be shipped to the store because it was a special one. I asked for a timeline of completion for the repair and he said Tuesday afternoon. He fixed it on time, but he did not call me like he said he would; I had to go in store to check. I'm assuming he was busy and was backed up, but otherwise excellent service and repair.

Do not trust this company. 1st time round they wrecked my LAN connection when installing a new battery. Within 1 year the battery has catastrophically failed. They refused a refund, offered to install another Chinese knockoff battery. I refused the replacement due to fears of another knockoff battery failing and potentially causing a Fire.

Brought in my old laptop to see if it can be sped up (clean it up, start up programs rationalized etc)...but turns out nothing really wrong with laptop just old and they gave me options to speed it up via adding a SSD if I wanted to. I decided not to go with that, probably can limp with this old thing for another 6 months and then spend my money on a new machine. Expected to pay something for the initial diagnosis but they said it was free. I felt bad and offered to be charged something or at least tip the people working there but they politely declined and said that's how we are operating. Wow, very nice and honest folks. Though I can't comment on quality of work they do as no work was done on my machine, I can at least attest to their ethics. And seeing the great reviews of other customers, seems like quality of work is very good also. So...these guys are awesome and if I ever need computer services, they will for sure get my business. Contacted these guys with regards to my laptop being very slow to start up and shut down, and also had a problem with Apple Itunes. I thought I had the latest security software installed and was completely protected. How wrong I was, they found viruses and malware all over the computer! I contacted them on a Saturday and they could not be more helpful. They sorted all my laptop problems out, and even put new security software on for me and scanned the whole computer. My experience with Burrard Laptops was very disappointing. I had initially went there to re-install Windows 8. The man offered to do a free check-up on my laptop saying the problem may be more than a software malfunction. I naturally said yes and later that night he called to tell me that my hard drive was in disrepair and gave me a "special offer" to replace the hard drive and re-install the software at a discounted price using unfurbished parts. The cost added up to much more than what would have cost to simply re-install the software. I declined the offer hoping to get my laptop fixed at a cheaper price. I went to two other well known laptop repair shops, both saying that the hard drive was in working condition and did not need to be replaced. Regardless of whether this was a scam, Burrard Laptops failed to deliver a reliable service.

I was in a mild panic as my trusted laptop failed and, of course, it was late on Saturday. I had checked around at other stores and felt that a good deal could be had at Burrard Laptops over all others. I was proven right. Upon entering, the fellow (I didn't get his name, sorry) asked all the right questions to be able to assist me in picking what would suit my needs. And, he didn't start at the high point of my price range. Not only did he impress me with knowledge, but also he had a style that made me feel comfortable about 'shelling out' some serious cash to solve my crisis. On top of it all, he stayed open 1/2 hr after closing to configure the laptop so I could take it home that evening vs coming back mid Sunday to pick it up. All in all, the best buying experience for getting a laptop that I've ever had; and I have bought at least 6 over the years. Do yourself a favour - check this shop out before making any decision.

This business was great to deal with and even though I didn't spend anything there they were always very nice. About 3 weeks ago my 9 year old desktop computer suddenly would not turn on and the fan was very loud. After reading some positive reviews I brought it in to Burrard Laptops hoping it could be salvaged. The next day I was told that the motherboard had died and since it was such an old computer that it really wasn't worth repairing. So I went and picked up the computer and asked how much the bill was and was told that since no repairs were actually done that there was no charge. Now that was a pleasant surprise. After about a week I finally bought a replacement computer and now I just wanted to get rid of my old one. I called Burrard Laptops and they said that they would gladly recycle it for me at no charge. Since I was the victim of identity theft a few years ago I was a bit worried about any personal information left on the hard drive but I was assured that they would erase the hard drive at no cost. So to summarize: - no charge for telling me what was wrong with my old computer - no charge for taking my old computer and recycling it - no charge for erasing the hard drive If I could I would give these guys 6 out of 5 stars but I guess 5 stars will have to do. All I can add now is that if I need some sort of computer repair down the road I know exactly where to go.

I can do basic repairs and swap components but when the job is too big or tedious I go to Burrard Laptops. All work comes with warranty. Good luck trying to find laptop/computer repairs on Craigslist that offer a warranty.

Recently, I bought a refurbished Laptop from these guys. I don't have much clue about the technicalities, but Alex was very kind and patient in walking me through a few of the things that helped me make up my mind. I was apprehensive about going in for a Refurbished laptop, but he reassured me that the one that I finally decided to buy would serve my purpose, plus their warranty terms are really customer friendly. I am glad to mention that Alex's assessment on the laptop meeting my requirements is spot on. My laptop stopped working 2 days before an important presentation and I brought it in, panicked that it couldn't be fixed on time. She fixed it while I waited (about 10 minutes), told me what may have caused the problem and how I might diagnose future problems. So knowledgeable, so fast. Unfortunately these guys turn out to be unscrupulous rip-off artists. I recently bought a second hand laptop from them. I thought it looked OK and not too old, although the guy in the store said he was unable (actually unwilling, I now realize) to tell me the age of the machine. When I showed it to my IT guy (who I’ve been using for nearly 20 years now) he was shocked and horrified by how much I had been overcharged (he valued the machine at $175-$250 and Burrard Laptops charged me $575). Turns out the machine is over 10 years old and is unlikely to last a lot longer. The store had installed Windows 10 on the machine although the installation was incomplete, with 8 drivers missing. Do not shop here unless you want to be robbed.

It was the worst service ever! When I requested a battery replacement, they said they needed an extra $390 to smash another part during repair. They are trying to rumble me. My laptop is no longer working and I have to consider buying a new one. They never admitted their own mistakes and never apologized. I don't want to even get one star. I already paid them $190 for a battery replacement, but I did the wrong thing. I shouldn't have been here.

Bloody awful. Got a second hand laptop from them a number of months ago. From the minute I got it home it was rubbish. It was hotter than the sun when on, turned off randomly for no reason and it's battery is hopeless. On top of that the keyboard didn't work which was the most annoying thing. Took it back as I had a 3 month warranty. The guy behind the counter said that the keyboard was perfect when sold as it had been tested in their workshop. He said keyboard didn't work as i had probably spilled liquid on it (he never inspected the keyboard). He said he'd fix it but only if I bought the keyboard myself off eBay. So i did and installed it myself. Keyboard works perfectly now but other issues still outstanding. Never want to deal with them again. Useless!!!
