I had dropped my phone a few times, but never as bad as this. The LCD was smashed in one corner and the screen, though functioning, could not be seen. Thankfully, it was Friday. I got on my computer and found the only place that repaired Essentials. iBroken. I booked an appointment for 2:00 the next day, Saturday. I was half way there from Olds, AB when my car died. It was 1:30. I thought, "by the time I can get to Airdrie now, they'll be closed or I'll be unable to get my phone in because I'm late." I got to the shop just before 4:00, and David was very understanding. He took my phone and detailed for me that it would take a few day to get the parts necessary for my repairs. On top of that it would cost almost the value of the phone. After thinking a moment, I assured him, "I think that's worth it." Dave took my information and I left my phone with him. That Wednesday I got an e-mail saying my phone was done and it showed the price of the repair being very close to the agreed upon estimate. I was able to get to Airdrie on Friday and Dave walked me through the repair process. I thanked him, paid up and I am now the satisfied owner of a repaired Essential PH-1. I hope to have it available for as long as the phone survives. Thanks Dave.

They took one look and said I think its dirty mind if we try cleaning it out. 5 min later cleaned out and charging port connects and charges perfectly!! Update review February 2021: Thought I'd give it some time before I updated and replied to you. The $30 repair I got in June from somewhere else is still working to this day. The USB port is still snug. :) It was a simple fix that's why I was charged $30... It didn't need a full rebuild as you said. Total lie. Your response said "Your item is not in the realm of our day to day work" It's a micro-USB port! — One of the most if not the most common port used for power + data. It doesn't matter what device it is. You charging me $60 was more than what the device was worth to replace; not a good value. All what was to be done was soldering 4 pins to a circuit board. I don't have a soldering gun and no experience, but I know for a fact that something that small to fix isn't worth $60. Sounding smug as you say because I know what I'm talking about? Do you think all the people who come into your store are too ignorant to how circuit boards and computer motherboards work? Was I difficult to deal with because you're used to people who aren't tech savvy and it's easier to rip them off? Also I live in Calgary so driving to the other place was no big deal. Besides even if that was the case I'd rather drive a further way to support a business that's honest with their customers than one who is trying to rip them off. Original review June 2020: Went into iBroken for a simple micro-USB solder fix. I was then quoted a starting price $60 for solder work. I found the price to be a rip-off. After declining for the service, he said that "nothings for free" and began justifying the high price due to the fact that he has spent thousands of dollars on equipment and training, guilt tripping me that he is somehow entitled to my $60, and saying that it's not a simple fix and made it out to seem the solder work was more complicating than it was. I went to a different repair store afterward and they soldered my USB port for only $30; half the price of iBroken!

Brought my new pixel 4 in for a screen replacement on a Friday ( I dropped it after owning it for 48 hours ????). They needed to order the screen that would come in on the Monday and quoted $250.00 for the new screen and a screen protector. Took my phone home, it worked fine all weekend. My husband dropped off my phone on the Monday, the screen replacement did not arrive and I was without my phone for the full day. On Tuesday the new screen arrived and we got a call that the cost would now be over $400.00 as they need the replace both the front and the back glass? The price was still less then the cost to get a new phone from the warranty so we reluctant gave approval to proceed. When arriving to pick up my phone Tuesday evening my husband was told it was not totally ready, and to make sure it fully ' set' we should put books on it when he got home ????????‍♀️. They did give us a discount as the screen protector they installed had some air bubbles, but we where not impressed at the additional fees being well above the initial quote. Once home we put books on the phone and plugged it in as it had less then 30% battery. On Wednesday morning I checked the phone and it was down to 13% battery. I thought maybe the charger was not plugged in properly, so took the charger with me so I could plug it in at work. After an hour plugged at my office it was down to 10% battery. The charger appears to not be working anymore? So we took the phone back to iBroke and they said it was a battery or charging port issue and they would need to order parts. Thursday no parts. Friday the parts arrived, phone will still not charge. At this point we are told that when I dropped the phone something inside may have been damaged and when the phone was taken apart to replace the screen that could have released the internal pressure and caused the issues they were now dealing with. So after a week with no phone we called it quits, our money was returned and we had to order a new phone on warranty from our mobile service provider. So I would not recommend this company. It was a really disappointing and frustrating experience for us. We did not feel that they properly explained the risks, did not honor their quote, and ended up making a brand new phone with a cracked screen totally unusable. They have plenty or good reviews, that is why we brought my phone here, but unfortunately it did not work out for us.

Replaced iPhone6 screen. Paid $130 did not last 56 days until it went blank. I understand the store has a 30 day warranty however this is unacceptable. Store would not give a price break on a new screen or see if it was defective (DID NOT DROP OR GET WET). I was told that 30 day warranty is more than enough and that Iit should be a 1 or 2 day warranty as that would be more than adequate to see if the scren fails. I'll spend my money elsewhere. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Took my phone in, because my charging port wasn't working. Asked for estimate. Came back 4 or 5 hours later. Told the problem was my screen was the issue, peel the screen saver off checked screen perfectly fine not even a scratch. Then the tech back tracked and said it was the battery not the charging port, but for almost $300 they could fix it. Told him thanks but no thanks. Since they couldn't rip me off, I got charge $60 for an estimate. Everyone else said estimate where free. Never again. I went to Mobile Klinik repairs $40 later my phone is charging once again.

I had heard good things about this place being both good at what they do, and reasonably priced. I went in there prepared to spend a fair bit of money to have my iPhone 7 repaired, but after a brief examination of the phone by the technician, he determined that I was wrong in my assessment and simply cleaned the thing out with some compressed air, which took about 30 seconds. Could easily have lead me on in my assumptions and charged me an arm and a leg, but was very honest and courteous. Will definitely be back here next time my phone has issues!

Went there because I thought my phone had been water damaged. I met with the owner and he cleaned out my phone and gave me an incredibly detailed explanation on what was wrong with it. Luckily the issue was an easy fix and I wasn't charged a cent. Usually at repair places I would expect to pay huge assesment fees even for easy fixes. This was incredibly refreshing and I recommend anyone with phone issues go here for quick, efficient, thorough, and friendly serivce.

Went in to get my daughter a new battery for her phone. Mick tested the phone and was super honest with me and advised that this was not going to be a long term fix. I decided that a newer phone was a better option and he provided all the options for previously owned phones. Once every was transferred over he took the time to test and show us that everything was functioning as it should be. Great customer service, great value. No doubt I will be back if I have any other phone issues.

I took my wife's used iPhone in to have the battery replaced for resale and Dave, the store owner, filled me in on a lot of other things I need to consider with the used phone and the current phones we have. Took my cracked iPhone there and had it replaced. Everything was awesome. Ran into some more issues and the owner went well above and beyond to help me get my phone working. While it was away for repairs I fixed up an older phone. Bought multiple other miscellaneous items with awesome service. The owner is so friendly and helpful and really makes you feel like you're an appreciated customer. Seems the staff however rotates frequently and can't seem to get the same treatment while the boss is gone. Will always be my first stop for my electronic needs.

I went into iBroken to get my samsung s9 repaired, had the front and back glass replaced. Went in 11 days later as I heard clicking on the back and when pressing the back it cracked and broke. I took the phone into the store for them to repair, they told me that cause they cant claim it under warrenty even though it shouldnt be happening I would have to pay again for the repair. Spoke to the manager a couple days later for them to tell me too bad theres no proof they did anything wrong. I took it to mobile klinik and he peeled off my back glass like a sticker. It was plastic and crumbled apart like sand. Mobile klinik fixed it in no time and showed me that it was not adhered properly and was a poor quality backing. I would recommend checking out mobile klinik before deciding as ibroken may seem less expensive but you'll be getting poor quality service and products.

I was very impressed by iBroken. Even though it did cost quite a bit to replace my screen, they were upfront and transparent with the cost and what I would get. I was pleasantly surprised when my face recognition still worked afterward as I thought that was irreparable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. I would definitely recommend iBroken if you need to fix your phone. I hope I won’t need their services again, but if I ever do, they’ll be the first place I go to get my phone fixed.

I had an excellent experience here today. Dave helped me. My iPad has been glitching, low battery, and the screen was not functioning properly. Instead of a cheap fix, Dave gave me fantastic advice. I did not get the iPad fixed here due to the many problems. It was not worth fixing versus buying another. Dave gave me great advice. I will definitely come to ibroken in the future if I need to fix. Went to get my S10+ screen replaced. They had to order it. When asked what phone while there in person I stated S10+ and the guy took my phone to confirm. Was called 2 days later that the screen was in.. showed up to have it replaced and they order an S10 screen not a +. No stock anywhere for an S10+ screen. On a good note they refunded my deposit but I still have a broken screen

I took my wife's Kindle in for a repair on the charging port to the Ibroken store here in Airdrie, Alberta. I was met by technician Eric. The repairs were done promptly while I waited. Excellent service from start to finish James went above and beyond for me. First my note 5 charge port broke and rather than spending the $95 to get it fixed and be without a phone for a while he suggested a wireless charger that got me through until i got my new note 8 which i then a week later cracked the screen. Most places charge around $600 for that screen. James made it happen for well under $500 and was done quicker than expected. 5 stars all the way!
