A beautiful place to learn and grow
It was a good experience to have a group meeting at this Campus' Library

Seneca College @ YORK I am currently in the last semester of my program, and I have almost completed my diploma in Television Broadcasting. I can say for certain I have experienced most of what Seneca has to offer to someone looking for higher education past high school. Most Teachers: This will be brief as I found most teachers great at their job and awesome people. These are true industrial professionals for the most part and have experienced everything out there. They are ready to help you achieve your goals, including gaining related employment after the program is done. In fact this is the closest I have been to teachers through out my whole life. Curriculum Designers: These are the absolute worse people. Especially if you are in some kind of hands on program. It seems like they hired University Curriculum designers instead of people who understand how hands on programs are suppose to work. They FORCE teachers to give assignments which make no sense and are only there to fulfill some non existent liberal arts requirement. Not all programs can be run like liberal arts, especially hands on where it is more how good you are at the trade, NOT HOW YOU CAN WRITE A BLOODY USELESS ESSAY THAT IS NOT RELEVANT TO HOW YOU WILL BE WORKING AFTER SCHOOL. Sorry for my rant. It is just annoying how they hire UNIVERSITY PEOPLE to design COLLEGE CLASSES. Cafeteria: Expensive Unhealthy Fast Food. It is better to walk over to York University where you can find something other then pizza or hot dogs. The hot dogs are great, it is just having them five days a week gets a little boring and unhealthy. Strike: 2018 Fall. The whole teaching staff go on strike. For five bloody weeks. Five weeks. This pushes back our semester and they take away most of our Christmas. The teachers decide to continue cramming in assignments even though it is five weeks of content condensed into two weeks. It would have been better if they did not do this AS we never asked for a strike and to be extremely stressed out by unrealistic deadlines which makes no sense. Also during the strike there was no communication between teachers and students. Even if I wanted to communicate I could not as the strike leaders said teachers cannot talk to students. SO THE TEACHERS WERE ACTUALLY NICE ENOUGH TO LET US HAVE THEIR PERSONAL EMAILS. This was great of them as I actually could do some of the assignments. They are the ones who actually care for their students. Not the college as a whole who have twisted plans and goals.
Currently a student, staff is very helpful and teachers do their best to insure that we succeed in our programs. I personally prefer the online platform since commuting isn't an issue among other perks.
Best college with Knowledgeable teachers, Technology programs are the best here!! Also good for food lovers
Stay clear of the Government relations program. It is a highway robbery, they will not provide you with jobs, and you’ll have to hear a bunch of BS from the program coordinator. If you get the right instructors they are helpful, but for the most part it’s a waste of time. You can easily spend this money on something useful!
(Translated) A good campus, surrounded by York University and a very good learning atmosphere …
Parking can be a bit strange. Make sure you find the correct lot if visiting.
Not a good place to take continuing ed courses. Everything is set up assuming that you already know how everything works so finding stuff out that you need to know is rather difficult. e.g. I had a great deal of difficulty finding out if I even passed the course. It turns out there is a place you can find that out, but it's not the link labeled "my grades", it's not the course page, and it's not your inbox. There's a whole different site to log into that's never mentioned in anything you can find in the search tool. I suppose if you're used to the fact that some parts of their IT infrastructure are functioning and some are legacy links you probably know all this, but they sure don't help you out.
Excellent place loved it
Good campus but Newnham is always better...
Student services are bad, along with the "accomodations" and "ammentities". Stay clear.
People at Financial aid and the registrars office are useless and incompetent. At this point it’s not even worth going. Don’t waste your time!
Can any body tell me , their requirements for music production program for an international student ? ????????
Did my Event and Media Production program there. A pretty comprehensive program that dealt with learning about every element involved in organizing events and loved the course!
If your looking to study photography study here!
A wonderful institute
First of all, Seneca provides really practical education. They focus the courses so that you really get into your field of interest and land a job. The professors are on the point. The campus is fairly nice, though a bit small for a college. For food, there'sTim Hortons, Pizza Pizza, Subway, Smoke's Poutinerie, a local hotdog joint and a few more options. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Some of them are students at Seneca themselves. Overall, a great place for your studies.
classroom doors are occasionally locked...students always ve to wait for their professors to call security to unlock the doors b/c apparently students are not allowed to request their own classroom doors to be unlocked! dont be fool that there are printers in the computer labs/classrooms...these printers cannot be accessed via the computers...students must go to the computing commons to print...also, the library computers dont ve access to printers THIS IS THE WORST SENECA CAMPUS I VE ENCOUNTERED!
????????????
Profs we're mostly great, and the ones that I didn't like very much still taught me something new. People were loud in the library, but it's less likely to see a fight break out.
I haven't been mugged by any of the students. 10/10
The campus is kept mostly clean. The facilities are up to date. However, the staff is simply useless. It took me 3 months and 4 different requests to registration to get my transcripts!
Still its wonderful
Small campus quality education close to york uni. plus point for food lover.
A beautiful campus.
It is 50 meters away from the York University building, but the level and quality of this campus is more than 50 times better. This college offers less programs than York, but is cheaper, offers a paid-internship and job placement for most programs, and gives you a balance between theoretical and practical knowledge unlike YorkU. My son went to both and graduated from this Seneca tech campus last year, he is now employed full-time as a jr. under a good salary at a tech firm unlike his old friends from York University who are still struggling to find unpaid co-op.
Modern facilities and well-trained staffs
I studied Acting for Camera & Voice at the Seneca@York campus, so my review comes from first-hand experience from a student's perspective. This campus is very small and is tucked away inside of the York University campus. It's a nice "High-school-like" feel that gives way to a learning environment for those who value community and connection. You will often see the same people roaming the halls, in the library and more. Plus, the Seneca@York student body organizes great events and mixers to help you foster a sense of community. The campus has a gym as well which is small but has everything you might need all the same. The library has a large number of computers and offers an opportunity for you to use Windows or a Mac. A great place to study for post-secondary education.
A manageably sized, modern campus. Good tech and classroom facilities.
Great facilities, modern building, highly accessible on campus
The student centre was very helpful with tutors and that’s the majority of good things I have to say. Currently in the Office Admin Exec program and regretting choosing this college. There are some classes that are very helpful and necessary, such as all the Microsoft Apps. However, our accounting teacher is self taught and has no idea how to use power point. The majority of the class couldn’t get the book for a month and have been lost since. The transcription class is a JOKE. The teacher will regularly start his classes 20-30 mins late and teach you the same thing you learn in two other classes. There is no curriculum or set schedule. Overall it’s not a bad program, but i wouldn’t do it at the York campus.
Good campus
Beautiful study environment.
Small but good in education!! Love it
paying $4k a semester for a 2 year program that is online where professors get paid to just READ off their slides, I can do that by myself. We still have to pay for textbooks. College is a scam, leeching off broke students. All the classes are outdated, why is learning about how to use PowerPoint/Word Doc a class in schools? No one in the ACTUAL world will care if you have margins of 1.5", this is an absolute joke.
its alright
I really miss here. Hope everything goes well on 2021 ♪(・ω・)ノ
One of the nice campus of Seneca.
The most uncomfortable place in the world.
Dedicated staff, friendly environment and is on the York University Keele Campus which helps provide some aura of university attitude towards studying. York Lanes is close by, Go Bus and TTC bus loop is very close by as well as the York University Subway Station which allows for quick travel to the Seneca Campus. However not much in the way of extra curricular activities are advertised or available.
I would like to give zero if I can. 1. Staff (I have encountered with) at international student office is extremely impatient 2. Staff (I have encountered with) at international student office threw me to registar with answering i dont know
It great campus and easy to find everything as a student. Everyone I interacted with was very nice. Would recommend ????
The website hasn’t been updated but they close the one card office a lot earlier than it says.
Don't try calling them because they'll hang up on you.
Very much enjoying my experience at Seneca. The atmosphere, the students, the staff, all amazing but food services aren't all that great. There's not a lot of options to choose from, students sometimes have to go to York U to get lunch.
A nice place to get a portion of knowledge
5/5 for the library resources. Got an email saying my books were ready for pickup only to find out they weren't when I got to the bookstore. Campus seems overly paranoid with not allowing students around a VERY spacious building. Computers …
Good college, but students from punjab or india get ready to do study here, because seneca college wants concentration of their students on study
Great infrastructure and Good Teachers.
Awesome place ..never find in the world..
Best College and Campus
My experience has been trouble with this college i wanted to take the tv broadcasting course but i couldnt since it was filled and this college doesnt really answer the phone... you have to go in person to get answers, and they dont take refunds so my advice is be careful if you try taking a course here
Clean, open concept, easy to get around
No Words Just Amazing .
Really good, small though
nice small campus
Needed help for so many things to have a easy and peaceful semester ... shahla saberinamin helped me so much she is the administrator person . What a wonderful person and such a hard worker went above and beyond to help me out . Thanks Shahlah
is there any one from chemical technician course plzz provide me your mail id
School are clean and modern. Less busy school works than another college in downtown.
The facility here is certainly better than York University
The campus is nice and clear, professors r very friendly, but the student services is the WORST EVER. The secretary has very bad attitude and hasty temper, I was shocked by the impropriety of the old lady's action which i haven't see in the other College for any other visiting.
seneca college at york university december two thousand and seventeen
Amazing school! Never went on strike until 2017. But the buildings are always clean. Staff always looks out for and are understanding.
Professors are helpful in making students successful.
Loved it
What to call registration office at seneca york campus? Good luck with that, it took me around 30 minutes to try to reach them, and I was unsuccessful.
Just go somewhere else
Awesome staff, courses, services & location ????
Probably the worst college for chemical engineering. The professor are completely unaware of the employment market for engineering but they encourage student there are jobs but there are very few and the one you get have very low salary that is same as a regular job with no education. They don't teach proper experience that can get a person job. I won't recommend this college to anyone. It's complete waste of time and money
Current programming student. The most backwards business structure ever. I paid to learn programming instead of learning off YouTube but I actually ended up learning off YouTube because the teachers won’t teach. Teachers instead force life advice on me and tell me I have to learn on my own because it’s what the real world is like. I get that but give the students what they paid for. Students pay to get bullied, ignored, and made to feel like they are expecting too much from the teachers. They don’t answer emails and if they do they can’t help you because it’s tough to help with coding issues over email. If their office hours fall on times I have class, I have to skip class. Attendance is also taken and used against you if you miss a class. You have to report and explain every aspect your life to them in order to be considered a human and not a robot student that doesn’t sleep Teachers are useless and are not helpful. My first semester of classes, 1 of my teacher refused to help me on assignment and told me to figure it out. He refused to give the class the correct answers to our midterm and said we need to learn to figure things out. Another teacher cancelled class often through emails rather than through the school. This way the school isn't aware of all the classes he's not teaching. There was strike in this same first semester and we were not reimbursement for the lost classes. When I paid my tuition it was an agreement between seneca and i for a set number of classes and for specific materials to be taught. When I returned from the strike, Seneca told us we had an option for a full refund. The teachers were very upfront with us and told us they were instructed to advise us not to go for the refund. There is never enough open computers to use, there’s is nowhere to study, and the labs are always booked for classes. It took the school 1 year to finally get all the required set of softwares on every computer. The library this year has 12 less computers. There’s a total of no more than 60. A work around to the lack of school computers is to install the software at home. They have us use specific software for classes but don’t offer any support for installation. Teachers have a, “ I don’t help with installations” rule and direct us to the helpdesk. Helpdesk is made up of students and they refer me back to my teacher. The school’s student center is extremely glitchy. You would think with an entire department of industry professionals that they would at least fix these bugs. This bug almost costed me my enrollment. They definitely didn't care nor made any effort to help me out when it happened. Turns out it happened to two other of my classmates in previous semesters. This is an ongoing issue and it still isn't fixed. There is more like how the manager in the academic advising office lied to my face and tried to pull a power move on me. She tried to send me going just because she had no answers and couldn’t help me regarding an issue wit their student center. She told me thatwhat I experienced in the past with being able to see class schedules before enrollment was not true and then changed the story to say Seneca changed their rules. But then next semester they reverted back? The other ladies in the office gossip often and I’ve stood in front of them and waited almost 5 minutes before they acknowledged me. I was going to snap them originally but changed my mind. Would I ever take a course at this school again? No. Go to Sheridan in Brampton. It’s not much better but you get better content. Would I take a boot camp over my current program? No. I would however go on github to search for all the assignments and just follow along and practice that way. It is exactly what going to school here is like. Loads of assignments worth tiny amounts, no help, and just figuring it out yourself. At least this way, you have the solution there for reference.
Food is little expensive. Get ready to pay $3 for the 710ML coke!
I find this college total B.S.
KEEPS GETTING BETTER!! Always come back to this place. A second home! =)
Horrible school so far and I haven’t even started. They are totally disorganized, and do everything last minute. I called months ahead to book an appointment and they lied and told me I had a right documents and that it didn’t need to be updated. Months later after finally letting me book the appointment, they said I needed the document I mentioned in the first place and how I apparently have to pay thousands of dollars in order to get it, which also takes months to get. Not only that, I can’t even get into my courses and they keep passing me around to different people in order for my to get any type of assistance, which I haven’t still gotten. Why do they even get paid for. So annoyed, I rather have went to a different school.
They're not answering calls "due to covid", nor emails.
Just dropped out of my program, and out of like 15 profs only 3 and a half have been good/helpful. Course material is outdated, as are most of the profs, who don't know how to use "Blackboard" and are very poor with giving instructions for assignments. They really need younger proofs who don't go on about stories about their lives. The profs just pile on work without making sure that their assignment doesn't overlap with another profs. 0/10 the radio broadcasting program is a shame, feel bad for those 3 good profs.
Best school, Good Staff, Knowledgeable teachers, Technology programs are the best here, industry focused, got the job even before finishing the studies, definitely recommended, 3D animation, Broadcasting, Nursing, Computer systems technology program, are the few of the best programs run here, people in the industry know this college and know the students who graduate here are one of the best and have the knowledge that the industry is looking for, and the skills as well, they actually would prefer a person from Seneca over anyone else.
This place only cares about money and high standards reputation, not about education or you as an individual.
I was on campus when a possible fire almost broke out. A young man (I think his name was mahamood), was on sight and provided useful insight on how to prevent the fire going forward. great smile too, which made the experience all the more comforting, he was tall and handsome
Amazing place and really good college
