Great! Been teaching there for 20 years.
This place was a joke. I havent set foot in Mercer since 2009 but I can guess nothing has changed. I got done at the end of 2009 and didn't want to participate in the grad ceremony and I have never received a degree. No big deal most places I applied to work at can see I have over 60 Credits from the school. But now for some reason I would like the piece of paper for my own piece of mind. Well I called twice today and got redirected two times to voice mails who aren't taking messages. Really? I had a horrible experience at this school when I was there for reasons I choose to keep to myself on a public forum, but believe me plenty of others will agree. Also the parking sucked.
I was out of county so I chose to pay more to go to this college. People that gave this college 1 star probably had to deal financial aid (I didn't). Everything at this school that I needed was accessible from any kind of counseling to changing the date of a test. I can't get that kind of treatment at my 4 year school. This college is designed for commuters in every way possible. It truly gave me the best start possible.
I had a great experience my entire time here. If you are looking for an alternative to a 4 year institution, obviously you will not get it. As a 2 year prep for a 4 year institution, MCCC does a great job.
A very supportive environment!
Always able to find what you're looking for, but you definitely pay for having the convenience to do so. Staff are friendly and helpful. Layout of the bookstore makes finding what you need easier.
We were there for a match with a local soccer club team. Great turf soccer field.
Very nice campus. Quiet at the moment and not many people attending class at night.
All these years later-and I STILL hate that place.Worst "school" I ever went to. Complete waste of money...nastiest people I ever met. NOTHING positive to say abut this place.
Aside from being conveniently located within city and suburbia range, I've had bad experiences with administration as well as the executive end. It was imperative to have my issue addressed as it was very much time sensitive. The faculty that handled it included the registration team (composed of what looked like students who freshly graduated and had no idea what to do other than to work a phone) that repetitively redirected me to the same people and places without genuinely looking into my situation and understanding. After a couple of weeks, more patience given than was deserved, I personally spoke with the dean twice and politely asked for status updates every two weeks or so. I respected her position and understood the amount of work it entailed and figured this was more than enough time to keep me posted. There would be periods where I did not receive a response for an entire month. During the two times I did confront her, nothing was given but empty words. I am truly disappointed with the lack of integrity at this college; there are a handful of professors that made my stay worthwhile, however the overall community lacked professionalism. A couple of months passed and to no avail, I gave up and registered at a college in another county that has accommodated to my needs.
They could be a little more competitive being that you can pretty much get everything you need online for a fraction of the price
Very nice school. Can't wait to start in the fall
Rent if you can. Supplies available for when you forget your own. Use FAFSA to buy a Kindle and Beats. Yeah, it's lit
Great place to go for your pilot training! Only school on the east coast that offers a full aviation course!
Wait time it's unreal here. I ordered online and had to wait nearly 2 hours just to pick up my order
After graduating high school I went immediately here, but dropped out due to my own personal issues. Couldn't do college at the time. I am returning and the faculty and teachers, resources for my degree program specifically are very very amazing. I am very lucky. (Advertising and Graphic Design.) If I had an issues with teachers it was few and far between throughout these years. I am learning so, so much despite many referring to community college as "13th grade." I am getting so much out of my education here. I have about a year of studies left the way I spaced out classes. I am extremely satisfied and can't wait to graduate!!
Too expensive
Top quality field
Worst Community College Ever. All they do is hold you back, retake classes and treat everything like high school. I have been in this hell long enough.
Just went there for my COVID shot
I was in their maybe 2 weeks ago in finalcial id office and a boy vas talking bad about the news student. That by said this stupid kids and later in registration office i waiting for my turn and she told me sit in the chair and wait, i was doesn't said anything later 2 girls after my was enter in the office and she was helping so friendly a boy before and the another's to ladies after my. Here my question why MCCC has working racist people everyone need help and i need help because i'm the 10% of Spanish people who want continium studie.
They are organized and had what we were looking for
Nice college..
Helpful staff and well organized selection.
Dont come here unless you absolutely have to, or if you're filthy rich. Everything is overpriced. Staff if friendly, so it has that going for it.
Very welcoming and friendly crowd!
Nice campus, good options for degree programs, great relationship with several 4 year schools, and one of the best aviation / flight technology programs available - with a tight relationship to an excellent flight training school and Piedmont (American) Airlines. Fantastic value.
They ran out of Eng. Comp. Text Books. This is very inconveint for serious students who need to keep up with class assignments at the beg. of the semrster. Mrs.Perez
Very good for Covid vaccine at the gymnasium
Great service. But on campus book store should be illegal. This is an affront to a american capitism (I know they don't teach this in college anymore but in America a free market used to mean ovoiding monopolies and syndicate behavior) and gives book publishers complete control over the market for All general information. If you think I'm lying try to research any case law as laymen lol "you have the right to represent yourself" amiright? If all these beast live off the same lifeblood as the college board are they not one organism? It's a scarry world when knowledge is practically meaningless without beurocratic recognition via diploma.
Great school. Love every minute
50/50 depends on the department and what field you go into. Some are helpful, inspirational teachers. Some are debris stuffed into office attire. Principal is vile. Library is friendly. Gallery is a great place to check out. Student Life is... Eclectic.
Set up for the virus shot was fast and had a great setup
Gonna go there and have a great experience!!!!!
It's funny reading some of these reviews. This is my 2nd year at Mercer and It's been great. I'm a veteran and Mr. Becker the Director of Veterans service is awesome. Some of the issues described in the negative reviews are garbage. While I do agree that enrollment service and Financial Aid need a major overhaul. The rest is common sense. If you don't ask or follow up your not helping your self. One thing I love is the addition of the Success Coaches. They may not know all the answers but they will find you the answer or find you someone who has the answer. Some students don't take the initiative to seek them out or utilize them. Same goes for the Learning center. If I didn't go to the Learning center and ask for help from the tutors. I know that I would fail the class. I also take Online courses. MercerOnline is terrific when they respond about an issue. The actually answer their phone and emails. Look like all schools you will find problems or things that need changing. I've gone to a 4 year institution and they are much worse. Mercer is a good school . Instead of bashing a school for its flaws take your a@@ to the people who can fix it. Mercer's President has open door policy. Go to her office and complain. I've gone myself and made recommendations. She even handled an issue and concern I had right there on the spot.
Hi Guys......... Did someone have done CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associates from Mercer county Community College..... Please guide me.......I am going to take classes for CCNA from Mercer College.
Just enrolled
This campus is a good community college campus, there is also a lot to do around the campus.
Four days in and I already love this small but busy little campus. It's a perfect place to get the feel of walking around in an actual college campus; learning what building and room you're in and getting there on time. All it takes is reading a map and you may find your way, don't be shy! The security guards are nice and so are the students. Everyone's really on top of things
Recommended for part-time study.
Registration isn’t the best. School is fine but the teachers aren’t the best at teaching. Tutoring is 2.1 out of 5. The people at the financial aid are very unprofessional and downright rude. Never expect such rudeness from them.
Tried to charge me 325 dollars for a book I got on amazon for 22
Great
My daughter says she likes it here
Very good school,new buildings
I went for Computer Networking and Security a few years ago. In the brochure, I saw that all the classes were offered at night. To play it safe, I even confirmed it with the Administration because I work FT during the day. After the first semester, I found out that a few classes were only offered during the day. I was told, by the same people, that I was given the wrong information. I even contacted the dean, to which, I never heard a response. As for the classes, the teachers were very nice but the network connection & PC's were F'n horrible (dial up connection speed). 80% of the time, they didn't work. My teacher (intro to PC hardware & software) told us on multiple occasions, and I quote, "I'm so sorry this is happening to you guys. We'll have to cancel the class". To give one more example, which I did wind up cursing a little too loudly...I was at the very end of my online exam (60 minutes into it) and the connection failed. It lost everything I did. The same teacher apologized and told me I'll have to redo it. I apologized to him but told him, and the rest of the class, "more than 50% of the time the class was canceled. Why are we paying full price for half a class? Does Mercer plan on reimbursing us?". I then walked out. I never took it and still passed the class with a "A". I'm sure everyone passed that class with a high grade. Why offer computer classes if your computer's and/or connections don't work properly? I'm surprised that no one has attempted to sue the school...yet.
Very helpful staff. A college that treats its students right
Very pretty campus
Nice price Sometimes batter than buying books online Nice staff
Didn't show the gym and other buildings in the map. In fact i ended up behind the building
The people were friendly and very helpful
You gain as much help as you seek.
Great place to work
Great place to start booking your education
Nice and clean place
Really good soccer game
Great education at a good price.
Awesome. Mercer County College never let's you down. I only have good comments.
Got my covid 19 shot there.
from a credit course student: Never answers phone calls and is notorious for doing everything incredibly slow- which tells me they only care about the money. Thank God I don't have to take classes from MCCC again.
Expensive. Does have everything needed though.
Go bears
Went for my 1st coronavirus vaccine. Everything ran very smoothly for the amount of people there.
what a dump. Staff is not helpful and should be fired. What a greedy garbage school that just wants money. School interior looks awful and dim.
This school isn't worth registering to. The admissions department give you the run around, no one answers the phones, nor return calls.
It's a great college where you'll make plenty of friends.
Helpful staff but everything's seriously overpriced including textbooks. They do however sell used textbooks and rentals but expect to be sticker shocked when buying your books especially if you're taking four or five classes.
Vaccinations provided efficiently
It's too expensive to purchase books and to rent beat up books
I attended mercer college and was very much interested in the math, biology and chemistry classes. I graduated from college with a degree and a decent grade point average a couple of years ago. I took classes in biology and math to bring myself up to date. I needed help with the math classes and would frequently go to the math lab, only to find that there was only 1 or 2 tutors for a hundred students; students ended up fighting each other and the tutors. for help and it would take days to get help, by the time you received help the professor was on the next chapter. The professors for biology and math were persistent in not helping you. I was insulted and told off numerous times by the biology professors. One young male professors purposely gave me the wrong information in regards of how to study for a summer class, which caused me to fail and re-take the class. When I took the class for the second time, a whole new set of information was taught by a female professor . Half way through the class she informed me that the only grade I could get from her was a C+, and thats what I got.In Biology lab, students asked the male professor what area's of biology should they focus on in studying for the final exam , and the exact opposite information was given on the exam. The biology professor gave 80 homework questions every week which was never related to lecture notes. it was busy work which slowed you down from studying very well. The eighty questions required reading the biology chapters which I enjoyed reading . These questions were never gone over and , points were taken off if not turned in the next week. The lecture notes were vague and did not help a lot with exam ques or homework. I felt as if the teaching staff only wanted the younger students, not the older students, to take the science classes . On various occasions, when I asked for help, went to her office, the female biology teacher would insult me and even told me that I was only fit to work a menial job in the hospital. Mercer county community college is not at all a community, so why are you calling yourselves a COMMUNITY college. JUST TELL EVERYONE YOU ARE HERE TO TAKE THE STUDENT'S MONEY!!!!!!!
Too expensive and they are closed on weekends
stay away from the school, not many teachers are helpful, most of the time you'll be stuck with an instructor that barely knows anything.
Clean. Quite. Spacious.
Prices for everything went up. Nice solar farm though...
I’m a returning student and I only chose to do so because MCCC is closer to home. I’m starting to regret my decision. Everything has been nothing but a nightmare. Staff isn’t on one accord with anything and I feel like I have to do everyone’s job. No one explains anything and you have to basically send 1,000 emails before you can receive a unhelpful response. No one answers the phone and they misplace documents like no other. I can go into a lot but I’d rather just warn any prospective students to keep this in mind before enrolling. It was never this bad back when I attended in 2006. They make everything extremely difficult for the student. Beware!
The James Kearney campus are like a family. They care about people. It's fun!
Horrible staff! Everything is overpriced but that's to be expected from a campus bookstore, and part of the staff is nice but two of the women that work at the front desk are terrible! Extremely rude!
Pricey but great education
Order ur books online...they overcharge and they make a profit off of u...oh and they don't even give u half the money of the book if u return it...trust me online or a bookstore
My order was ready and staff was friendly
Terrible school. The staff is useless. The advisors are either never on campus or give you minimal information that won’t help at all. Financial aid can’t explain things correctly and they do nothing but give you the run around. Admissions has you waiting, sometimes for hours, just to apply for classes. Last but not least this school does nothing but hold you back from achieving your goals. They’ll make you repeat classes and continue to tell you you’re not eligible for graduation. Please spend your money elsewhere. Mercer will honestly waste your time, money and education.
Lobe how easy they make things for the students
They did not have the book in stock for a current class.
Is a great college
My overall experience at Mercer County Community College was absolutely horrific, miserable, pitiful, and tragic. To start off, I began my academic career at this institution by enrolling in the Career-Prep program with a major in Business Studies during the Fall Semester of 2018. I was falsely accused of plagiarism by a Business Communications professor on a final project for the semester that dropped my final grade from an "A" to a "C." When I tried to get in contact with the Dean's office to appeal my final grade, all I received was the run around from him and his cronies. In addition, the process of getting support from the Academic Integrity Committee was an absolute nightmare that seemed everlasting since none of the staff members seemed to care or take evasive action. Furthermore, the Testing Center possesses an unprofessional environment for which the staff members lack the knowledge to be alert and aware at times. When I went to go take my first test for my MAT-135 course on October 1st, 2018, the staff members working in the Testing Center gave me the Midterm exam instead of the actual test that I was supposed to take, which almost resulted in me having to take the Midterm exam twice. And I will leave it at that!!!!!!!!!!
Love the school but Books are expensive
This school is the absolute worst! Registration is horrible, especially those sitting at the desks, they are rude and will not explain anything to you. They want you in and out as quick as possible. The professor in the Radiology department is also unhelpful! Refuses to answer questions online and forces you to come to office hours and even then does not give any helpful information! All he does is waste your time, and forget about getting help if you want to transfer to another radiology school, you will receive no assistance so good luck! Overall, the worst school I have ever attended!
Great place to immerse yourself and lots of diversity. Good surrounding community and lots to do! Questionable administration and interoffice miscommunication keep me from giving it 5 stars
terrible school. Ive been coming to this school on and off for over 10 years (I move around a lot because of jobs) and THE ONLY reason I come back is because its the closest school to me, so its convenient. besides that, this school is an absolute JOKE. The teachers for the most part are horrible!!!! Ive never attended a college where I have failed my classes so many times due to the lack of actual teaching! The teachers don't care about the students, all they care about is their paycheck clearing, and being able to leave an hour early so they can make their dinner plans. and please don't get me started on financial aid. I have submitted documents that they "needed" to award my financial aid over 2 1/2 months ago, and STILL no word on anything, I had to drop all of my classes this semester because they did not follow through on any of the items they needed (which I sent them multiple times.) All around this school is just lazy, they don't care about their students, don't know how to teach, and overall pitiful. I cannot wait to move again and be able to go to a REAL college, where they have professionals working and actually know what they're doing! and oh yeah, better teachers too!
