Their so disorganized for a place that represents ECEs. All they seem to care about is money not seeing the ECE jobs don't pay every well. Their main issue should be that ECE have so many responsibilities and some places pay so little.

Very slow to send me my application I sent it In April it is now August and it’s still processing. They were quick to take my money though. I want to apply for jobs but you can’t without it. If I could leave a zero star review I would.

This organization should get ZERO!!! The CECE was designed to protect the public so why don't they get the public to pay the fee????? Members get suspended for non-payment during a pandemic...isn't that nice ???? It's my hope that one day this organization gets shut down.....we don't need them!

If I could give zero stars I would. The fees charged to Early Childhood Educators are HIGHER than the Ontario College of Teachers!! How can they justify charging one of the lowest paid professions such a ridiculous amount just to keep a job. We are so undervalued and underpaid that many in the field want out. If you work in the city of Toronto you will have tons of paper work, AQI assessments which are punitive and demoralizing, registration fees, portfolio requirements by the college of ECE, low wages and long hours. Sometimes you can't even enjoy the children because there are a thousand other things you are suppose to be doing while teaching and trying to cultivate authentic relationships. This is very sad for the children and the future of the profession. We are in the middle of a serious child care issue and I don't see any government incentive to do anything about it.

Every year I've received a letter to renew my membership with the college (which I think is stupid having graduated and paying all that money still doesn't certify you and they don't tell you that when you're studying but whatever...). This past year I didn't receive a letter and of course completely slipped my mind to renew it. Funny enough, they coincidentally remember to send a 'penalty' letter stating if I wish to renew my membership I now have an extra fee on top of the renewal fee. I called and spoke to a gentleman and he told me there's nothing they could do because I should have known my renewal date and them sending letters is courtesy. I also told him I lost my wallet and my membership card was in it, no idea which day it would be as I was relying on the letter as I've done every year. I don't understand how you guys have done it for the last 4 years and failed to do it properly this year and now I have to pay a fee? Glad and excited to say I'm changing career paths in just a couple months! ECE doesn't bring home enough money at all, have a money grabbing college who doesn't care to help you and simply just not a fun or exciting career to have.

If only I can leave NO stars. I've applied to renew my membership on July 18 and it is now September 5th. I have called these guys on August 20th and left a voicemail and I have YET to hear back from them. I called them again on Tuesday September 3rd and left another voicemail. Every time I have called, an automated message says "we are unable to speak with you at this time...". This is so disappointing. They need to change their entire system and staff. I've read most the reviews and trust me, they are accurate.

Still uses the mail to receive member renewal forms instead of direct withdrawal or online payment, and can take up to 45 days to respond to a member inquiry where is my money going???

I'm not very happy with the college, as I have to agree with others in their reviews. Today I waited on the phone to speak to a live person on my lunch, and almost ended up being late going to back into my room. I was in second in line but it seemed to take forever. Then when I got to speak to a live person, the person asked me what the best way to send out a letter to me. Waste of my time and lunch break. The college does nothing for us, and I'm annoyed that I have to pay $160 every May just to keep it in good standing.

There is a terrible technical issue on website so I am struggling to log in more than 2 months so far. I tried to reach out to all the team. ex)sending emails more than 4 times. They did not even read it once. If you do not check mail account, why did you put email adress on website? Every year take money and do nothing.

Avoid calls , Extremely rude CSR agents , will push you away to a members inbox on vacation if you try and ask a question they find bothersome, have not received emails, booklets or any information on or about the college, increased difficulty to renew and ridiculous late fees. Dealing with this organization makes me feel as though I wasted my years and should have studied something less stressful. ????

Thanks very much for the response to my review. I'd like to reply to the response and highlight what other regulated bodies charge. ""Our fees are some of the lowest compared to other regulatory bodies and cover costs related to our mandate of regulating the profession in the public interest"" Yes, they.do charge significantly more. However some are reimbursed by the company they work for. They also receive higher salary, better working conditions etc. Fees: Teachers College fees are 170.00, renewal for the college of ECE's is 160.00. College of ECE's is not much lower in contrast to what Teachers make. Some centres pay minimum wage and do not reimburse the workers. Another example is the Ontario College of Nurses. An RPN has the similar amount of schooling in contrast to an ECE. Registered Practical Nurse College Fees - 361.60/ Wages- $69,440 per year with Benefits, Pension etc. Thanks for reading my review, I appreciate your time. Previous: I'd like to change my review and add a star. Before I only gave the College two stars. The reason I added a star to the review. They recently let members pay membership online. Allowing me the option of paying online was a huge help. It's less stressful. The main reason I can't give anymore stars. The membership is really expensive. Considering what ECE Professionals get paid across the industry. Registered ECE's should be charged 40% less for a membership.

This so called " College" is nothing but a policing and money grabbing Office that does nothing to help/ guide their members. The members have no recourse if there is a complaint against them, nore are they informed about it! Members are not informed if their license is revoked or suspended. The people answering the phone seem to give whatever comes to mind to get rid of the caller. I seriously question their purpose and mandate!!

If I could give less than Zero (0) I will surely do for this organization. My renewal was sent months and nothing was forthcoming as acknowledgement. I was later contacted to pay extra $90 plus the $106 I had earlier transfered directly to the college account if i do not want to be suspended. I sent in proof, still Kim refused, so insensitive and lack compassion in the way she speaks on phone, no wonder the backwardness. Whoever employ her needs to really do a real check of her professionalism. I later sent in resignation letter and asked for my refund which i received back ( when i thought of the emosional abuse from parents which am a victim, and treaments from some of our centre supervisors I don't think it is the way forward for me) There is need to change the leaadership and the way things are rbeing handled in this organisation; everything is backward. We are not respected anywhere and the college is a proof and addition to this because of the ways things are being handled. Recruit professionals to handle things. we do a lot and deserve more respect and dignity in labour of caring for children on their learning journey. Too bad.

What a nightmare!! Have been calling them for a week and no one picks up the phone. This morning called them straight from 9 am to 11am and no one picked up. Went to their office and no one at the desk. The person at the desk Memie is the rudest person I have interacted with. Very disappointed that our hard earned money is going to pay for their posh university ave office and we have to wait a week just to have our payments processed. Advice to the college hire people who better represent you, because so far the image that Memie has set is not very nice and helpful.

The Ministry needs to shut down a lot of these establishments. There should be a national outcry. We need the college to advocate for the staff, and parents need to speak up as well. Educators are with the children most of the time; yet there are faced with poor management, stress in the classroom and the list goes on. It is embarrassing the things that go on in this field of study. There needs to be reform. We are paying our money. Educators know your rights, and know your worth.

Completely useless organization. Do not deserve our hard-earned dollars, nor more of our time with the idiotic CPL program. $25K on catering?? Are you kidding me? Some of us don't make that much in a year. If there was less than one star you'd get it.

I went to the college this afternoon and the receptionist her name IS Memis was like o it's you with rudeness. Then i asked her if I could speak to the person who takes care of reinstatement. She took a call and took her own time to help the person who was on the call. Did not even acknowledge that I was waiting for 10 min while she was on the call. Then after she hung up she is like I need to transfer this call for the person who was on the phone. Then she saw me and was like o like she forgot me. I was on a schedule and had to be somewhere. Very rude. I wish I could give here 0 starts. She has been doing that to me each time I visit the college with her rudeness. Normally I do not write negative reviews but this one had to be written. Forgot to mention that I applied for reinstatement and it took them 2 months and they did not even process my application. Hence i had to cancel and reapply for the licence. Lost $60.00 for processing. Really disappointed
