Thank you Cappa for being the best hair styling school around! I attended Cappa from March to December 2018! After graduating from Cappa I immediately landed my dream job at my dream salon! Cappa school is set up for success, the instructors are amazing, the students are amazing, but your education relys on YOU! You get what you put into it which means, attending your classes ontime, asking questions and participating in theory, giving it your 110% everyday because the only person you will be letting down is yourself! At Cappa you train for 3 months doing your perms, finger waves and basic hair cuts! Then after you finish your 3 months you move down to the styling floor which hello is the best thing ever for hands on learners!!! Then again what hairstylist isn't a hands on learner? So basically you are an independent stylist, tackling the 9-5 work day taking on clients, doing highlights, root touch ups, blowouts and roller sets! And that's just to name a few things! The amount of education I received over the last 9 months is unlike any other other program I have ever been in, I soaked up as much as I could because I knew I wouldn't be able to take my instructors with me when I graduated! Well a month later I'm at my big girl job, in a big girl salon being challenged everyday and I would never be able to be this knowledgable without the education Cappa was able to provide me with and the pressure I put on myself to be the best that I could be every single day I was there :) I miss everyone everyday and I am so happy I got to start this new journey in my life with Cappa and making some awesome friendships along the way! THANK YOU CAPPA!!!!!!!

My mother insisted on booking a hot stone massage for me as I was quite stressed and holding all the tension in my neck and back. I was hesitant at first when she explained that it was a school of students learning but decided to give it a try anyways as the price was more than reasonable and I also hire students for my business. How else are they to gain much needed experience in the work place? I was more than pleasantly surprised. The student masseuse was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had to fill out a health questionnaire first so there wasn't any surprises. We had a small conversation prior to the massage so that I was comfortable. The teacher checked in on her halfway through. The room was private and clean. There was soothing music, warm towels etc. All that you could expect for triple the price at a spa. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up booking one for my daughter to experience. Three generations of women are happy at Cappa! Kudos to the owner!

They were horrible ! Do not go here! My own fault I bought a groupon and it was a full highlight, cut and style..........Rosie was my hair stylist and I use that word loosely......she literally butchered my hair.....I asked for a trim and she took 3.5 inches off and it is completely uneven!! One side is longer than the other. The highlights are orange and yellow tones on my hair. It has cost me $285 to correct their mistake and it is still way too short and my hair is extremely damaged from having to bleach so much. Should have known better then to go to a hair school.....don't cheap out getting your hair done because in the long run it will cost you more to correct.

Just had a great experience here. If you are coming here, keep in mind this is a TEACHING salon. The students take their time (a lot Of time) and overall do a great job. Sadly I saw 2 customers today trying to nickel and dime Cappa for free services claiming they weren’t satisfied and asking the student to re-wash, blow dry and style her hair because she didn’t like how it was styled— shame on you. You are getting a BARGAIN here. The students are supervised by teachers and extremely careful so they aren’t going to botch your hair. If you are looking for a pristine salon experience that is impeccable and fast, go pay for that elsewhere. If you want great service and a great price, Go to Cappa. Also these students are not paid for their services! So keep that in mind if you are annoyed about their limited hours— most of them have jobs and families ON TOP of working 40hrs here. I will definitely be back!! $38 for a partial highlight, wash, cut and style?? Yes please!

I had just graduated from cappa on april 8th. And as a jr stylist now i appreciate everyone at cappa for helping me get to where i need to be and teaching me the basics of hairstyling:) i loved cappa with a passion, loved every moment. Since i stepped foot in there everyone was welcoming. And reading some of these rude comments just break my heart. Some of you are rude and ignorant. If you have a problem with a place you went to i suggest you keep your comments to yourself. Because cappa is a great school. If anyone has a problem with the school itself then you have issues. Because it is a school, they only teach the basics, and all of the instructors there have forever changed my life :) i will never forget the experiance and all of the amazing clients and teachers there :)<3 id like to thank Pina and Mrs Filice for helping me with my career ! I highly reccemend this school, if you are interested in hair please register:') ! Call the school Cappa, and ask for Pina Muccarelli ! Amazing person :) she will help you with your education, and career ! Shout out to cappa and all of the instructers:')

Let me start out by saying, this is not the first time I have visited a hair school for service. I fully understand the students are learning/ training. Also that the student who was assigned and did most of my hair was very nice and friendly. This was my first visit to Cappa. My office ended up being closed today and I had the opportunity to come in for an appointment. I cam in at 10AM for a full head of highlights. I mentioned to the front desk girl that I did have to leave by 2. This would have given almost 4 hours to do my hair. The stylist and I briefly chatted about wha I wanted and she then sectioned my hair. The educator came by and confirmed everything including the pricing which I was OK with. The stylist began and was moving fairly slow BUT her foils looked neat and it appeared she was doing a good job. As the time passed, the educator advised she was going to get her some help. Another student came over and began doing the other side of my hair. Shortly after the educator came back over and noticed a large part of the foils were done incorrectly. The educator advised they would have to fix it. At this point I was still okay. Another stylist came to take over for this girl and I was able to notice how bad my foils were as she was trying to redo some and correct them. My hair looks terrible, the highlights my assigned stylist did were OK BUT other parts of my hair, there is soo much root growth still, the highlights are uneven, there is soo much blonde on the one side from no hair being left between the foils, the highlights wernt blended properly to my existing highlights and you can see that. I work M-F 8-4 and am not able to come back to have it corrected and Im honestly not sure I want it attempted here. Very disappointed as my services were $100 so I did not get a huge steal. Compared to the Aveda school I would goto back in Toronto, I am very disappointed.

For starters, they are very reasonably priced, and the students are very kind. I've been going here for a while now and always get highlights and a trim. The way the salon works is (supposed to be) first come first serve. I went in one day, having 4 hours before needing to be somewhere. 4 HOURS. I was originally told it was a 45 minute wait. Okay, fine I can wait 45min and still have time. Then one of the teachers comes out into the waiting room (I'm the next person in line) and askes who the highlights are. Another girl and I raise our hands. She then proceeds to tell us that she needs to take the baylage in first (she was the last client on the list) because otherwise she'd have to wait longer than we would??? I told the teacher that wasn't going to work and she got defensive and rude. I've never been so frustrated with someone. If you are going to have a "first come, first serve" rule, stick to it. Other than that, the girls that have done my hair have been absolutely amazing, especially the girl who ended up doing my hair that day. She was fast and efficient and it turned out perfect. I will go back because of the young lady's that do my hair, and always do a wonderful job.

Have been going to Cappa for years. Very professional and no one leaves without a good haircut. I would recommend this place highly.

If you’re looking to study esthetics please look elsewhere and do not waste your time and money at Cappa. The hair program is great I’m sure but esthetics is a mess. Completely unorganized. The kit is way overpriced and good luck getting a breakdown of the costs because you won’t get it. There is so much missing with this course. Sugaring and brisa nail isn’t a service the school offers to the public so they pretty much push teaching it aside because it doesn’t make them any money. I had to ask to be taught sugaring and it was a 5 min briefing before my teacher ran off on lunch. The Brisa lesson was her leaving her laptop on my desk with an instructional video playing on YouTube. Because new students can start each month, the students that have already been in attendance get pushed aside. Most of what you learn, you learn on your own. I’ve had exams on subjects I had yet to be taught. Your days consist of 1 hour theory and 7 hours working on clients. Sounds good right? Wrong. The theory is just reading through a textbook that is almost impossible to retain because you’re pushed onto the next chapter the next week. You don’t even really learn much. They highlight where all the answers are so that you can pass your weekly chapter tests with ease. Which is basically cheating. The rest of the day could be 4 pedicures back to back even though you’ve passed that exam and need to practice another subject. It actually doesn’t matter what you need to practice, you do whatever the clients book because they come first. Why? Because $ that’s why. I was left for 2 hours with no instruction and nothing to do because my “teacher” was upstairs getting her hair done. There will be MANY times that you need the teacher and she is nowhere to be found. Probably somewhere texting. When you have practical exams she walks away or sits on her phone googling nail polish colours. She is constantly on her phone and not doing her job. I’ve been given the wrong information on my study sheets. She’s just clearly not into the job. When I pay over 8,000$ for education I expect my instructor to take it seriously and actually instruct me! Ive voiced my concerns and spoke up and nothing was done except gossip and talking bad about me. Oh and your private conversations with staff aren't private. Nothing is private here. They have no respect. When told you need a mental health day, the reply is “well can you like take it another day because we’re busy”. They honestly don’t care and need to stick to their hair program. Many students dropped out while I was there due to frustration and unsatisfaction. Some of which I’ve spoken to and have expressed that they had the same complaints and nothing was done. If you want a quick and easy diploma then this is the course for you. But if you want to LEARN properly. If you want proper detail and actual theory lectures and lessons then please take your money elsewhere! If you don’t want to do the 2 year college program that’s understandable but do your research on other private schools but this isn’t the one. I know my capabilities and I will not let this hold me back but it was definitely a frustrating ride!

Loved my services! I have to say, I've been here about two years ago and wasn't too impressed. But this time it was amazing. My student that did a massage and facial was knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. The teacher was around just enough to be available to the student while still giving her space and privacy. It seems this school has much improved and I'm very happy there have been positive changes. Will definitely be back. Keep up the great work ladies!

Although the staff is very friendly my overall experience was awful. I obviously understand these are students but the young lady (with the help of her teacher) who cut my hair absolutely butchered it. The teacher would show her how to do a certain type of cutting motion then tell her to "try it" and she would come back to see how she did. She never came back lol the teacher never looked at the "finished" product that was my hair. She actually didn't even finish my cut, she just started blowing drying it...she didn't show me the back of it (for good reason) so when I got home and looked, needless to say I cried. I also had a shellac spa mani pedi done. The lady who performed this service was wonderful and friendly but my shellac has already peeled off most of my nails and they have only been on for 3 days! I was really looking forward to my afternoon at Cappa but over all, I wish I hadn't gone because now I have to go pay more $ to have my hair fixed. Not happy

My daughter got her hair done today and they butchered her hair,my daughters hair was down half down her back and now its above her shoulder's never again will we go there and we will let everyone know on faceebook & instagram, and they over charged her, defs not worth $75+ for what yous did to her.She came home and as her mother i'm so upset with her,so disgusted and they were so rude to my daughter, this is not right.

I'm afraid I did not have a very pleasant experience at the "salon" at Cappa School of Hairstyling. I was in the salon last week for a "wash and blow-dry". While I was receiving my service, I experienced a very disturbing event. There was a young man in a chair near mine having his hair cut. The student-stylist was questioning how to cut his hair properly and asked one of the "teachers" to help her. This teacher was absolutely rude to both the young man and the student. She said "his hairstyle is already ruined so just do whatever you want". The poor student was completely embarrassed as was the young man. It seems to me that the girls in this salon are still learning their trade. Therefore it would seem that the teachers should still be teaching. By degrading this student, her confidence is being devastated. As well, the customers in this salon are paying customers and definitely should not be treated with such disrespect. As well, I am sure these students are paying a tuition of some sort and should be treated with respect the same as if they were being taught in a college situation. This is not the first time I have seen the teachers in this salon treat their students poorly and for this reason thought it necessary to voice my opinion. Regards

I had the pleasure of having my hair colored by Emma yesterday. Not only did she do a fantastic job, she was so lovely to chat with. She listened to everything I said and OMG did she give the BEST shampoos.. Thanks Emma. This is the only place my kids and come to get our hair done.. If I could rate it higher I would. Thank you!!

So for Mother’s Day, my daughter bought her and I a Cappa salon gift certificate package. To be completely honest with you, when I heard it was a school I wasn’t thrilled and to be more honest, I was very concerned about having students do my hair. So before I even went I had no expectations. First off, the place is huge and busy. I came in and didn’t wait more than 2 minutes. I was using the first part of my gift certificate, I got my hair trimmed, my bangs shaped and my roots done. Where I usually go, this would have cost me minimal $75 not including a tip. The haircut and the colour were just as good, if not better than where I’ve been going to for the past 8 years. I was blown away by the service, prices and the staff. It may have taken 20 minutes longer than it usually takes but it was well worth it. I would recommend anyone to try Cappa. Thank you for reading my very first review.

Was driving by as class was letting out I assume 2 of the girls walked right out in front of the car in front of me causing traffic to come a stop. Then prproce to yell obscenities at paspass cars. Rather than walk the 10ft to the cross walk WILL NOT EVER GO THERE especially if that's the way the students act right in front of their school. Wonder how they act in class .

I am only a few weeks away from graduating, and I can honnestly say that Cappa is by far my favourite place to be. That being said if I could do my apprentership here I would in the blink of an eye. The hands on experience is what you want when you go into a career like hairstyling or aesthetics and I can promise anyone who is looking into these careers, that you have that here at Cappa. Cappa allows you to develop your own personality as a hairstylist, and helps you figure out you're strength and weaknesses before you're out in the salons. Aside from these qualities, I would like to thank the teachers. I'd like to thank them for their patience for the millions of questions we have , I'd like thank them for always understanding that we are students and that we still make mistakes, and most importantly I would like to thank them for not only being the best teacher they can be, but also being a friend when u need them to be. My experience at Cappa has been incredible and I am frankly sad to leave this upcoming July. I wouldn't recommend any other program. It's worth it by a landslide ????????
