You will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people who use the products and services of Professional Medical Associates (College) in the area of Saint Albert (Canada).
Now this business gets a score of 2.5 stars over 5 and this score has been calculated on 16 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings that it reaches is very low, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the rating is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are pleased, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This College corresponds to the category of Emergency training.
Great school. High expectations for both markets, and attitude. I did my EMR, and PCP through PMA. I will be looking at them when it's time to take an ACP program.
Completely agree with the rest of the reviews. First off- From day one of communicating with the administrative staff at both St. Albert and Calgary locations nothing but complete disrespect and attitude. They are some of the rudest people I have EVER spoken to. Not only have they blatantly lied to myself and other students/ previous applicants, they have ZERO interest or respect in helping people. If the front line staff is any indication of the rest of the academy- RUN. It is nothing but a waste of money applying here. Glad I didn't end up going. I have heard nothing but negative comments from others since. $10G for your EMT? Save yourself 4 grand and go to a school that actually cares about their students. Like seriously do they even look at their google reviews? I'd be so embarrassed to be the owner. Start with firing your front staff.
Terrible school overall- Unprofessional and mean. Unorganized. Terrible communication. Worst schooling experience of my life.
I had a different experience with the student liaison(Shelley) she seemed unfriendly and defensive when I started asking about the programs. I needed her to convince me to come there or at least provide me with a name of someone to talk to that would actually impress me. It wasn't until a co-worker walked in that she changed her tune. My main issue is there are no good reviews of any of the programs available on-line just one bad one making it difficult to drop a huge amount of $ for this private school only having to base the your decision on the information available on their website. I was told they can not tell you exactly the schedule for their part-time program until just before the start date only an idea!?? on the other hand some of the information she told me was positive but I had to ask direct questions. Not all the information is not on the website.. eg. student teacher ratio, instructors backgrounds, success rates of students passing ACP exams. Didn't walk out of there feeling any better about making a decision to attend there I was hoping I'd feel different. Wish the students would post reviews of their experiences with this company so people can make a more informed decision about attending there.
Awesome school! Completed my EMR and PCP through them and I am feeling super confident for my practicum! I love the relaxed environment and all the instructors are always ready to answer any questions you have or help you out on anything you're confused on. Heavy course load but thats expected for a short course with lots of material. Definitely would recommend.
Would not recommend this school! EMR was decent ($1,800) but EMT (PCP program) was a complete waste of money. ($10,000 for the course, get 2 rewrites, the tests are out to lunch, the success rate is less than 50% per class because of the tests.) Too many random instructors teaching different classes not knowing what you have or haven’t learned, the tests had so many questions that had to be argued and changed. First midterm is literally a week into the program which most have to use 1 of their 2 rewrites right away due to the tests having literally nothing you studied for on it. Must get an 80% to pass an unorganized exam. Didn’t get our medical terminology books until halfway through the program so then they just threw that test at us randomly after receiving the books. Didn’t explain what they wanted on the ECG exam but have no problem making you use your last rewrite for it. (Ex: got 9 out of 10 ECGs correct but failed it because didn’t write the QRS and PRI exact numbers in, even though they taught us to put less than or greater than). Then on final midterm passed my multiple choice @ 84% and passed final scenarios @ 98% but failed my written portion @ 74% so literally made it to the last day and since failing the written portion with no rewrites left I literally lost upwards of $20,000 (tuition, hotels, food, travel, etc for months) and had zero sympathy from the owner (James). Was ignored and had to go look for him, then when asking what should I do, basically talked to in an ignorant tone and told I’d have to come back for at least another semester and gave me no info. (Found out from other students it’s at least another $4,000 and 3-6 months of more schooling depending on part time or full time programs). The written tests are marked by instructors through a guideline sheet, so basically if it’s worth 15 marks on a question and you have 20 correct points on that but something missing from their answer key you’ll be docked marks, some tests were marked 3 times due to instructor mistakes and ended up being a pass when initially a fail, very unorganized! Better off going to a good school for less money and better chance of passing. PMA does not care about if you get through the program, they just want the money. Would never recommend them to anyone. Literally the only good thing about the school is the instructors are amazing people and all paramedics themselves who work in the industry, but the owners are in it for the money only, not good people to deal with, especially James, very ignorant! Save your money and go to a better school!
Admin Lady at the front Counter is very rude, Rips your head off if you even try and ask a question. Which is sad because the instructors are great and Ive heard great things about there program but the admin lady when i called was absolutely terrible
Great instructors - must say I loved them all. Although I figure I'll finally give my two cents. Go to portage and get a real education with credits that are transferrable to a university. Also, haha random moments that were weird. They brought me to the back room once because I was wearing a red hat (crooks and castles), I guess they thought I was in a gang so I got questioned, I was also the only person of colour in the class. That really put me in a weird mood, but honestly that's more of a representation on equality in uniform jobs while working in the culture of Alberta in general. Also, after graduating I went straight to work in the field with a service and a temp. License I came back to get my 1 week of workup training you pay for before the acp exam, they refused to honor it, said that I missed the deadline to write the acp exam, and I'm there like, I literally just talked to them I have more than enough time. So I didn't get my one week of workup training I paid for, had to go into the exam blind, luckily I study well on my own. Again tho.... Amazing instructors, although I can't recommend staying away from these short programs enough unless you want to gimp your progress, these courses don't transfer to any university courses, in any schools that matter. Do the portage distance program. We need to move away from the quick production EMS programs in general and move towards options that give us transferrability and ability to climb upwards in the medical industry imo. Made great friends in the program tho :P
Not a good school. They don’t care about the students, all they care about is money. they say you can have a second practicum if you fail the first but no they lied and want you to redo the whole course again so they get double the money. They agree to whatever the preceptor says and doesn’t listen to the students voices at all.
Good Doctors and a great pharmacy, I would recommend this place.
Nothing “professional” about this school. Would not recommend. Rude, unprofessional, over priced and intimidating.
I did my Emergency Medical Responder at this school, the instructors were absolutely amazing!! They didn’t make your feel like any of your questions were a stupid question. They went above and beyond and helped till you felt confident they were honest and better than instructors elsewhere that I had experienced defiantly going back for my Primary Care Paramedic here!!
Very helpful and knowledgeable. Shelley is fantastic to deal with, she and the company provided wonderful customer service. :)
