I am a recent graduate of Maritime Business College. Just this past weekend, we had our graduation ceremony (which I was waiting for since I finished my program back in February) and it was a huge disappointment because no diploma was received nor were honor students recognized. I was one of those "honor students" but that meant nothing at the ceremony because there were students lumped in with us whom have not completed their studies yet. So at that time, they were not sure if they would qualify for "honors". I have been waiting for six months to receive my diploma and I know others who have waited longer. I was very disappointed to learn that Maritime Business College have MAILED out diplomas "a while ago" which I believe is lame. A diploma has more value if it is received in person, particulary at a graduation ceremony. Still waiting for my "diploma" to be mailed out...

I was in the Veterinarian Technician program the last year Maritime Business College (MBC) was offering it. Would've graduated spring of 2021 but decided to leave because this school gave me so many red flags I no longer wanted to graduate under their name and represent the school. I am a hard working student that strives to do my best. I do require some accommodations to an extent but I have never let the extent of the accommodations that MBC offered me stop me from being a successful student. The fact that the teachers are disrespectful and blatantly yell and shame their students for doing things incorrectly is not the way to set students up for success. I believe that all teachers have their different styles of teaching and approaching different situations and I understand that. I've had some great teachers along the way before they decided to quit because from my understanding , they probably realized that this school's protocols are all over the place. Not organized in my books. Not to mention the high turnover rate of teachers we had for the Veterinarian Technician program. I probably had 3 different teachers in the course of the first 3 months of attending the Veterinarian Technician program. (Most of them just unexpectedly left their teaching position) In the end I decided to quit MBC because I felt like the quality of learning here was not up to par. Step up your game MBC, Give these students better tools/equipment (such as microscopes that actually work) to set them up for success, teach instructors how to approach their students appropriately and create office hours for those that need extra help. I am enrolled in the law enforcement program and I absolutely love it!! It's hands on. The instructors are super friendly and all the staff are wonderful as well. I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys the more hands on learning style. Definitely worth it to check out, it won't disappoint you!

Graduated veterinarian assistant course in 2014. The course promised a job in the field and I still have yet to get a job in that field. The school spits students out to fast for business around ns to hire. At the end of the course they did job placements in the field and at that point I was forced into going to a pet food store because there was literally no where else to go. If I knew that from the beginning I would have never taken the course and wouldn't be 15k in debt with student loans. I am a hard worker and a honor student so no reason not to be hired.

They do not take care of students, only focus on money, and a lot of “instructors” are not trained properly for human interactions.

They dont take in people with learning disabilities, they wont help you in anyway even if you try so hard to ask for it because your failing classes and still everything was no or it wasn't fair towards other students.. well maybe it wasn't fair towards me because I was born with many learning disabilities and learn differently. I didn't ask for that. I studied for days without eating or drinking and still fail the test cause of spelling mistakes.. it is so hard for me to out down my thoughts on paper and if I knew they were like this I would have never applied in the first place. And all they want is your money. No changes in finding the job you worked hard on studying for at this college. They'll lie right to your face.

The MBC Counselling Skills / Human & Social Services Diploma program was incredible. In comparison to doing a 4-6 year university program, I believe you get far more hands on, practical skills that will be utilized on a daily basis for a small fraction of the cost. I've gained so much knowledge from the instructors and from all of the certifications that I now feel very confident, empowered, and capable of entering the helping profession. Highly recommend this program for anyone wanting to enter the helping field quickly and confidently.
