A well regared postsecondary institution with very good quality courses and professors. The campus itself is nice, but the food and dining options are just ok; nothing amazing. That being said, there are a lot of decent restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance, especially being located downtown. Worthy of consideration for anyone looking into higher education!

I did my undergrad in Modern Languages here. Great experience. Good administration. Great professors. Great classes. Small class sizes. It's a scent-free zone so people who suffer from allergies and asthma would be very comfortable here. Not many interesting university activities.

If you're homeless, this is a great place to stay out of sight. Computer access, places to sleep, can charge phones here as well, microwave access, and to use spare lockers to lock up your belongings overnight when you're forced to spend 8 hours awake, out on the streets of Winnipeg... if you're homeless and NOT running around on drugs, the U of W is PERFECT for your continued survival. Known friends that have gotten back on their feet, thanks to the U of W environment. So thats the ONLY reason why I'm NOT giving it 0-1 stars. Other than that? The U of W... the professors are good, but the school itself, theres so much wrong with it. Especially hardcore communist UWSA, the $20 buffeteria food, lead pipe water fountains, security guards are basically hippies, all being surrounded by the worst parts of Winnipeg too... its not pretty. You'd be better off going to Red River College, moving to another province, or something.

As of late, there are an increasing number of news stories involving violence against students by non-students of the university. This review is not on the quality of the education offered, but the quality of the student experience.

as far as student services and financial services they are terrible. Using coivd as an excuse to take days to reply and not be able by office phone. Forward your office phone to wherever you are at home instead of being reachable by a 2 day email wait.

If you go here, prepare to get flooded with junk mail to your home address. I graduated years ago, and am still having my mailbox stuffed full of garbage related to insurance plans, home insurance, life insurance etc. "deals" associated with the UoW. It seems they are selling our mailing addresses to private companies after we graduate with "deals" for UoW students. Massive violation of privacy and professionalism if you ask me. If this keeps on happening, I may just take the petty route, gather up all the junk mail sent to me because they chose to sell my home address, and dump them all over their admin desk personally if this doesn't stop. Such hypocrisy from the UoW, always preaching about environmentalism and consent, yet sell off personal addresses of students without their permission, and encourage massive amounts of waste.

Their student services are the not up-to the mark. As an International student I really feel they are of little help in cases. They are never available on phone and sometimes dake days to answer emails. Most classes are over booked and you’re put on Waitlists. They really don’t have as many classes as students admitted.

They could have extended all the drop out dates as we started our classes late, but no they still decided to keep them the same making all the students here face stress! As a student, I found my self very liberal in terms of expression and choices. The school has been facilitating a free and joyful atmosphere of learning, which attracting a considerable number of students from local and US, as well as students from worldwide. The most unique programs is film and theater which is ideal for future member of media industry. Besides, wide ranges of programs in social science and science are also available for your selection. Unlike the isolated campus, the in-town campus of UW is extremely convenient. With 5 mins of walking, you can visit a few shopping mall, a few restaurants, the dorm for students and for the staffs, as well as parking lot.

I'm graduating this June, I took 4 years, 96 credits part-time. I had a lot of classes and a lot of professors. Of all the professors I had, only 2 were disappointing, they weren't bad, just not up to the standard of all the others. I must say, 2 disappointing professors out of 32 is a damn good average!! Great school, great education. I'm going to PACE now, Professional and Applied Continuing Education, another division of the U of W. More great professors there. I also went to the counselors a few times, and they were very helpful as well. Only one complaint, the cafeteria is expensive for a university. Overall Awesome University, awesome location, awesome services.

I get covid and people are working remotely, but 2 weeks and no call back is a joke. I'll take my buisness elsewhere, clearly not for the students.

Having recently started my post-graduate program here there are few things which I found out are pretty amazing. First the location of the university is very good in terms of overall connectivity. Next the architecture and construction is simply superb. Coming to the facilities it has got everything including soccer field as well. There is a study area facility where one can sit and study in complete silence. Apart from that the staff and the professors are highly learned and knowledgeable and will help you understand anything and everything you want under their purview. University has a number of courses to offer. And they are the best when it comes to excellence
