Great school. I was in the IT program and teachers know what there doing it can be diffucult it you dont apply yourself or dont show up. Id just say on a personal preference bathrooms could be more clean the guys washroom is always a mess

I'm in school for telecommunications, the teachers go very in depth with theory and the practical is directly related to the industry. Teachers are very friendly and are motivated to help the students who show interest in the courses. I would highly recommend this program for anyone looking to re-enter the workforce or are looking for some extra skills.

Best school I went to so far!!! Staff and students are super nice and friendly, teachers are professional and have solid credentials (They know their stuff and are very resourceful!!!) P.E.C. is an environment that actually CARES about your success, and they will encourage and push you to succeed. If your attendance is good, if you pay attention in class, your entire future is set up in front of you as you watch and blaze through the courses. This is practically the first school I'm actually proud of wearing a uniform for! -- A student from the March 2015 Computing Support group ;) --

One of the worst schools I've ever been in. Teacher grade exams off favoritism of students, very dirty and not clean, poor scheduling for classes, very unprofessional staff. I could go on and on about this school (do not recommend)

After finishing a DEC at Dawson College, I joined the telecommunications installation and repair program at Pearson and I feel that it while it teaches the fundamentals of communications through electronics it is far from boring or overwhelming. However, the the educational system needs to be altered, and the school needs to stop threatening and discipline those who do not take the program seriously or the majority of the classes who hinder productivity and learning potential much like a high-school setting. Pro's: the teachers are very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and help students that struggle. In my group there was several certifications offered, who most aren't obliged by board of education, free such as BELDEN, copper and fibre, ASP, Hilti fire stopping and actuated powdered gun. Furthermore, the school tries to integrate modules which are not part of their curriculum such as: Learning how to use tools and project management. extra learning material Teachers will teach far and beyond the curriculum teaching modern, and relevant knowledge pertinent to the field as we all as best practices . And the facility itself contains a lot of labs, and expensive equipment some that go up to 25,000$ USD, which is neat as they have the best and new equipment that prepares you for the field. The new administration seems to have improved, the directrice is fair and strict at the same time. Cons: But from my experience classes teachers tend to loose control over the classroom as the classes get loud and very distracting due to former high school students. This comes as no surprise as the school is structured like a high school and the seriousness is nothing like university or college. A lot of students talk over the teacher in the background making it very hard to listen, which is similar to a high school environment where about a quarter of students are serious and want to absorb far and make use of their time far and beyond and vast majority is the complete contrary. As a hardworking student I don't agree with this one but others might. Non attendance/ lateness is tolerated up to 25% on each module and the majority of those who have chronic lateness are the ones distracting the class ( by either singing,snapchatting, talking about video games or laughing loudly during both lectures and labs). Sadly, the students that are eager to learn and express that they would like the two foregoing to change but the teachers adjust only to revert back to being lenient. This is because not all teachers reinforce these rules and they feel that it's pointless to do so in that case. In summary, the school has great qualified engineers (for telecom at least) that keen to teach and all of this comes with a inexpensive price relative to other countries. BUT, the school owns fairly old technology, the teachers have very little control over the classrooms, 75% of students are in a high school mentality ,including those of under the age of 25, which renders the school nearly as counter-productive and much time is wasted re-explaining to students who don't care so there's not much room to catch up to the industry (theoretically) at least. The administration needs to threatening students and take more action, stop forgiving those who do not want to be there and reorganize their discipline to accommodate those who do want to be there. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND, despite income loss from dropouts or suspensions/expulsions. Aside from that, my group was fine. I gave my honest observations about my group alone as I cannot talk about other groups. But I hope to see improvement in the educational system soon.That being said, there are only two English Schools in Quebec for this. Environ is the other, but the owner has been supposedly abducted by a group of people, and rumor has it the schools recognition is far less than Pearson's.

If you want the summary: Go to this school. It's 100% worth it. If you want the in-depth version: I just graduated the Telecommunications Program. I found an stage/internship and good-paying (More than 35k a year) job immediately. A lot of my classmates had the same experience. What you put in is what you get out. If you try really hard and push yourself, you'll learn a lot here. If you don't apply yourself, your teachers won't chase after you. You will probably graduate and find a job, even if you're lazy, but I doubt it'll be high paying. Teachers are a mixed bunch. Every one one of them is very different. You will not enjoy every teacher, that is guaranteed. Some of them teach better than university professors. Some of them really hype you up about the program. Some of them are very monotone and definitely boring by anyone's definition. Our class had a large absence rate for those teachers, and it didn't seem to affect our success. Overall, I'd say I felt like I was learning in 70% of the courses. Teachers really want you to succeed, though. Even the teachers who aren't very good at their jobs really want to help you. You can get involved in tons of stuff - trade shows, student presentations, projects - if you show interest and a desire to succeed. Overall, it's worth attending this school just because of the job offers and knowledge you get. Some days, you'll be learning a ton of interesting stuff. Other days, you'll be bored out of your mind. On the boring days, just remember your goal - getting a diploma in telecom pretty much guarantees you entry into a huge industry with well paying jobs.

I would like to share something with the students in this school. I went to high school there when it was a new school in 1959 called Bishop Whelan. Because it was a catholic school we were forced to follow a curriculum that a lot of us hated, focusing on Religion and Latin. When I see what it has become and what is now taught there now I am so wishing that it was like that back then, being able to learn electricity and electronics that I loved back then. You people are lucky to have such a wonderful trade school:-)

I put a two star for low possibility of getting a job in I.T. computer Support. The companies say 1 yr exp but they have been telling me to have at least a college or university degree. So the Computer Support class here is pretty much useless unless you already have a degree.

First things first don't get fooled by the photo's. They don't care about students, they pretend to care but they don't. Majority of the teachers are not going to teach you, they set up YouTube to teach you most of the stuff here. The only thing this school is worth is getting a degree saying you can work in the field. If you want to learn at this school first off don't. Second I'm in the telecommunications program, where they put all the teachers that just don't care, maybe in electricity and interior design is better but I highly doubt it. If I could rate this -5 stars I would. Stay in college kids don't come to this trade.
