I finished my Diploma in Legal Assistant Program at this school. I now work at a firm just like some of my colleagues are. So I can say that my career is on a good standing right now. also I have to say that this school is a bit unorganized and a number of students are raging at the school director, teachers and school itself. My career story after CDI was the ideal but a lot of my colleagues did not get a job after the program. not to mention, a few of them had an experience where they got into an interview and the employer was hesitant to hire them because they were from CDI.

I am a former CDI College graduate who graduated with honors. The person who does practicum placement is terrible. I was in contact with the city of Edmonton because I wanted to do my placement with them. The person from CDI in charge of placement told me he would have to jump through too many hoops to do this, and told me to pick something else. If you are looking for a job after graduating from this school, please note most employers do not recognize this school, so be prepared to answer the question "what is CDI College".

I am a mature student and have attended CDI College in the past, and CDI West Campus is the best. The staff are wonderful and always there to help you in any way. Despite numerous problems with the school itself, and problems with certain staff who will remain anonymous for now, the school has a friendly (although two faced) student body, and knowledgeable instructors. As long as you don't come with the expectation that you will be treated with respect by everyone who attends the school, (I.E. staff calling you disabled because you have anxiety, and students constantly talking behind each others backs) you will get through the program and get a diploma.

I have really enjoyed my time at CDI West. West is literally the best. All the staff have been incredibly understanding and accommodating. I am the taking Additions and Community Service diploma with a couple weeks of classes left. It has been a humbling experience, and I have learned so much, not just about the Addictions helping field, but I have really learned a lot about myself. Kelly Johnson is a great instructor, she brings real world experience to the course which makes it more relatable. She's tough, so be prepared to work.

This was the most negative educational experience I have ever encountered. The school is unprofessional, over priced and the administration is in dire need of organizational assistance. As a university graduate before I began my Legal Assistant course at CDI Edmonton West, I was extremely disappointed in the education I received. I was looking forward to the practical experience this type of course would provide and it fell short of my expectations. My instructor was biased and unprofessional with many students in my class. I did well and completed my course with high marks but under no circumstance would I ever recommend this college to anyone looking for a meaningful education. Do not waste your money.

When I was asked to give a review for Kathy Norton I remember how worried I was leading up to my last days . My computer skills needed help and Kathy even stayed later then normal at night to assist . I didn't just thank her once , I thanked her until I lost count of how many times I thanked her . Where do I start???. I came into this looking to better my self and my education and thats what I did, but I couldn't do it alone. I needed help I had questions and concerns. After some research I turned to CDI West, and they answered all my questions. This scary jump isn't so scary when you got freinds. Yes I said freinds, my freinds no longer staff or instructors. The path I chose to take was Logistics and supply chain Management and succeeded thanks to my instructors, and now I work for MTE Logistics. If it wasn't for Martin's (instructor) lectures and real life experiences which related to my experiences, I would have made a big mistake. Thanks to Kathy (instructor) answering my texts and late zoom meetings, I could have missed out on easy marks. One person who has become dear to me is Vivian (Practicum Coordinator / Career Services) she would help me fix my resume and had the best tips and tricks to getting a job not just in the field but a career during this tough time. Vivian would help me send emails and leave voicemails we worked well together. Don't matter who you talk too at CDI college west, they are all friendly and respectful. My experience at CDI was nurturing and exciting, i have made new friends from class mates to staff members. An experience truly worthwhile. West truly is best.

CDI was a blast, fantastic staff and students. After graduation the staff are always there to help you find employment. I would recommend this school to anyone. The best part is they offer 4 hours instruction which is good if you have small children/or have to go to work. It is worth the extra money.

It is overpriced, unorganized and Trina Fernau Student services coordinator is especially unprofessional, rude and unfriendly. I recommend she works somewhere not dealing with the public. My initial visit to the college to sign up was Through Evelyn at North gate Town Center and It was very comfortable and she provided me with all the information that I would need to make a sound decision in my education. Then I was directed to the West campus as this is where the night courses were to be offered!!! Finally night classes!!!! I am thrilled that the college has this option now on my program. When I came to the West branch I was very scared coming in - it is a big decision! The first face that greeted me was a beautiful Tammy Ashley! She was so kind and funny and she made me feel comfortable. She is a very dear kind person. I'm only 3 weeks into my program but I love it. It is fun, easy and everyone is so nice! they are all here for you. There is a ton of support - which is really important. I am extremely happy in my decision!

I am currently enrolled in CDI campus West in the Addictions and Community Service Program! I find the course to incredibly beneficial not only for my future work in addictions, but learning more about myself and my own struggles. Being sober myself when participating in the program as a client you learn one valuable aspect but when you venture out and learn more of how to help others just like yourself you learn another aspect that forms a solid foundation. The teachers are effective in helping in a quick time frame, they’re understanding about lives outside of the class and want to see you strive the best of your potential throughout every second of the course! I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was at the CDI West Location. I completed the Addiction and Community Services Worker program and could not be happier with my decision to attend this college. I am a single mom and was very worried that I wouldn’t be able to juggle everything. The staff, individually, met all of my needs. They were extremely accommodating and treated the students with the highest respect. The course load was manageable even though the content was vast. Kelly Johnson was my Instructor. She is absolutely amazing. She values every student and heavily contributes to their achievements. She takes so much pride in her teachings. She truly loves to see her students succeed. Not only does she maintain a studious relationship but she develops friendships with her students. You are definitely not just a number in her program. If you have the opportunity to be taught by Kelly, I would HIGHLY recommend her any day. She is a strong instructor and can relay the information in a way that makes complete sense. And if it doesn’t, her door is ALWAYS open. She is an incredible person and educator. Vivian was my Practicum Coordinator. This girl is extremely resourceful. She 100 % prepared me for my practicum/job search after I completely my in-class studies. She ensured that my resume was powerful and emphasized my skills/credentials. She was able to place me at a wonderful facility for my practicum. I gained so much insight into what day to day looks like in this field. Ultimately, my goal was to secure employment, in my chosen field, ASAP. Not only was I offered a position at my practicum facility, I was offered 3 more positions with alternative employers. I was working before my practicum was even completed. This is far more than I expected. Thanks to Vivian, there was no down time between school and employment. I am now employed in a position that feels tailored to exactly what I wanted. I am so beyond grateful. Last but not least, Jessica (the director of CDI west) made this all possible. From the day that I applied, Jessica has been extremely helpful. She ensured that all of my needs were met. She was incredibly accommodating to some individual requirements that I had. She checks in often to ensure that the students are thriving academically and personally. Her door is always open and she will always fight for the benefit of the student. I started my program APA last July 2019 and I had a good experience so far. My instructor for Payroll and Accounting is Veronica Pogor. I can say that she is the best! I learned a lot from her because she really explains everything most especially the hard part of the topics. She also gives us time to review before the exam by giving us practice exams to make sure we are ready for finals. Another instructor is Kathy Norton. She is really nice and friendly. She was my instructor in Professional Skills, really learned a lot by sharing her experiences in life and in the field. :)

Where to begin! I was not sure what to think when I enrolled in the Accounting and Payroll Admin. Course. But going forward I do have to say all my instructor's where GREAT! I found the instructors I had very helping in everyway possible! In the long Run all they want is for you to SUCEED and move forward with the program you had taken. I found my instructor's very caring. Veronica, what patients you have for what you have to put up with, and willing to give her students a helping hand when needed! Even when on practicum :) Thank Veronica, because of what I learned from you, and your hard dedicated work, and assignments I have landed my dream Job in Accounting & Payroll Admin :) If you can get Rob as an instructor, take it! Rob is very knowledgeable, and knows his courses. He may come across tough, but really once you get to know him, he is a super nice guy! And "YES" he like to joke around. Thanks you Rob for helping me recreated my resume, with that, I posted it on Monster, and landed my dream Job that I am doing for my practicum, the CEO loves me there. And I will continue with my position once my practicum is done in about a weeks time :). The CEO and I have already talked Salary :) Kathy :) well what can I say! You are a very personable person, you care about your students, and you help in everyway possible! I am glad our paths met Kathy :) It was nice to be in the learning center, after months of being in Accounting & payroll. But well worth it :) And then there is Brenda :) if you have not met her yet, you will. She is the practicum coordinator. Brenda, if it weren't for you helping myself along the way with Veronica, Rob & Kathy, I don't know where I would be today. Brenda had a placement for myself, before I even finished my last course. However, I was given a Job offer where I am now, and of course had to turn down the practicum Brenda found for me, but a new door open and I took the plunge. Thank you Brenda for being so patient with me, and helping me, and giving suggestion along the way for the practicum. CDI West College what a great experience for me, and hope everyone there will experience what I did. Just remember your instructors are human begins to, and feel just like you do. And they are only tough on you, because they know you can do it, and they DO CARE ABOUT ALL THEIR STUDENTS!

Svitlana Vasylysyna (aka Doc), you are the best instructor in my opinion that CDI west has but then you taught the majority of my classes so I am sure that all instructors there are excellent. Hello everyone, If you ever want to go to college and learn amazing things every day then this is the place to go, I took the Addictions and Community support work program and I loved every minute of the information presented. I decided to go back to school after 6 years as a retired nurse. I did a lot of research and felt that Adult Addiction Social Work was of an interest to me , what did not expect is the level of learning and the willingness of the school to work with me with my disability. I was a student at this school. Instructor, Lynda was hella sexist towards the guys in her class and had favoritism going on. The school didnt give a damn about it and chose to side with the instructor. This school does not care for your education, they only care about the money. Kathy and Zahida for the patience you showed for me to excel and that I did, even when I had no confidence in myself, you said you can do it! Veronica for the advise that you gave me to keeping practicing and it worked..hahaha.....now I am with Mr. Ghulam and you have to pass that's not an option if you do your part, his illustrations are SUPERB! Overall, haven't been to school over 20 years, I am very proud and 2 months to go. When the pandemic was in full swing CDI College gave me the opportunity to make a bad situation into a good one. The Web and Mobile App Development course is fast passed and a little intense at times. But my instructor, Mr.Rathor, has been critical in helping me navigate the course in a way that I feel like I am going to do well at a job site when. The staff at the West Edmonton campus have always been polite, helpful and easy to work with.

The staff at CDI Edmonton West really understand the importance of treating the students with respect and go the distance as far as the personal touch goes. We are always celebrating special days with food or treats. For International Women's Day, we all were given a freshly cut rose. We were given a backpack with some essential school supplies inside on the first day of school. The larger institutions certainly don't do that!! The one on one assistance our teacher gives us is phenomenal. The teacher is phenomenal! Thank you, CDI for making the return to college a smooth and enjoyable experience.

This college is a great place to learn! I am part of the first Supply Chain Management and Logistics course in the west campus and I found a lot of the course quite useful so far. Sure there were hiccups along the way but our instructor, Ms. Kathy Norton, took everything in stride and taught us in a professional manner. She is a very approachable instructor with a big heart and she cares a lot about her students. Since I am taking the course at night I do not get to talk to a lot of the faculty but I find that the faculty I do talk to are all open for a conversation.

I graduated from CDI West in March 2020, I did Accounting & Payroll Administration course. I know it's been almost a year but feel like I should share my experience with everyone. This course is designed so comprehensively that it serves all the purposes of in class learning and workplace learning. I must add that the efforts of my instructor Ghulam Mustafa Siyal were phenomenal and his in-class lectures and explanations of all the relevant course material and the scenarios are really helpful in real life. My time spent at CDI West Edmonton campus is coming to an end. I must say that it has been an great overall experience. I will comment on some of the teachers and staff I have had while at the college. I will start with Kathy Norton as she was my first teacher when I came to class on October 30, 2017. She was friendly and warm, which is what everyone needs when they come back to school. She was always an ear and a support system during the rough patches of any Microsoft or personal obstacle you were facing that day. She was knowledgable of the product and would share that with anyone who asked. She is no longer teaching at the school and I'm sure that losing her is already a big loss. Thank you Kathy and good luck with your future endeavours. Veronica Pogor! Now, if you want to learn accounting and payroll, make Veronica your teacher. She has many, many years in the business and surely knows her stuff. She is kind, caring and passionate about her work and her students!!! I'm sure she has many grey hairs after teaching our class. I can't say enough about her! She will teach the full 4 hours just to make sure you understand, and she did, for 9 weeks of payroll and 4 weeks of manual accounting. Now that's dedication!!! If you want to learn, she will teach you! FANTASTIC teacher! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Veronica! In my opinion, you are an exceptional asset to this school! Rob Einrich! We had Rob for a short 5 weeks I believe! He leaves a lasting impression with most of his students. He is extremely knowledgable in his fields of, well.... everything. He knows his stuff and will make you listen. Lol All kidding aside, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Rob as my teacher! He is a definite asset to CDI! Thank you Rob! Elia! Now, she is not a teacher but they are very lucky to have her as a part of their team. She is kind, sweet, funny and compassionate! She will listen, even when her super busy schedule doesn't allow it! She is a person who everyone should look up to and want to have as a friend. Thank you Elia! Trina, is a student advisor and desperately needs to work on her people skills. Not many students want to deal with her, even though we must. Jessica is the campus director, and even though her job is tireless, she will take time to listen and try to help you out any way she can. Thank you Jessica. Brenda is the practicum co-ordinator. She can always bring a smile to your face with her infectious smile! I didn't get to work with her much, as I found my own practicum but, she is such a fun person to be around! Thank you for all you do Brenda. The receptionist, I'm sorry I can't remember your name. She is such a sweet person and brightens up the room with her smile when you come to seek her assistance. She sends out a great first impression when you walk through those doors. And finally Ann Marie Bachmann. She took over our last 4 weeks of computerized accounting as Veronica went on a much deserved holiday. She is extremely knowledgeable in the field and also has many, many years of experience. She is gentle hearted and cares about our experience. All you need to do is ask and she will be there to guide you through any questions you may have. We haven't had her for very long but she's sure proved to be an asset to CDI. Thank you for putting up with us thus far Ann Marie. A huge thank you for your dedication and patience. If you decide to make this campus your second home for a while, the knowledge of your instructors here will be one of the biggest assets you will carry with you for the rest of your life. My payroll teacher was amazing at teaching so much in such short time, and my computer teacher in the learning center, Kathy is beyond amazing. I'm yet to meet someone who doesn't adore her. She has the ability to teach at anyone's level and is really one of few reasons I'm happy with the school. Everyone who works there is definitely friendly, however I do feel slightly disappointed with the loan advisors and lack of help/knowledge. Wish I had known how long it truly would take to receive the much needed funds.

I've been a student for one term and have nothing but positive things to say about CDI. I was referred by a previous student that took a program there. If you aren't willing to put the time in and be serious about the program your taking, you won't be successful. It's very condensed and there is allot of work involved. My instructor is very responsive and always there to help. You get out what you put in! They've helped me with my funding and check in on me and see how I'm doing during my term. Cannot say enough good things about them!

What a waste of time and money. They will hound you relentlessly to get you enrolled, but once they have you they all seem to forget how to communicate. Talking with anyone is a challenge, and if you have a complaint? Forget about it. My professor, one Ali Mrehach, can barely write a legible email, and grades assignments on his own opinions, ignoring the grading legend given with the assignment. The curriculum for the cybersecurity specialist is laughably bloated and disorganized. I've taken Udemy courses that were a tiny fraction of the cost, and far more professionally done, with a far more responsive teacher. Incompetent garbage.

The location was smaller than initially expected,but that has never taken away from the learning experience. Kathy in the learning center is exceptionally helpful and patient. She doesn't just leave us to try and figure things out on our own, but instead takes the time to explain the materials to us and make sure that we understand. It's not easy going back to school later in life, with extra responsibilities on your plate. But I can say with the utmost confidence that the team at this college make you, as an individual, and your success, feel important. Kathy, who runs the learning center ( amongst other courses), had so much patience with my lack of technical training. ( apparently control/alt/delete doesn't solve everything). She guides students when they start at CDI, and had made my transition from '40 year old' to 'student' so much easier. You won't meet a kinder person, and yet she still makes coming to class fun. GM ( accounting and payroll) is a mix of instructor and stand up comedian. He cares about his students, and was always there to provide help when he say any of them struggling. Classes that you would expect to be boring, on the basis of material presented, were made fun and enjoyable by means of his humor and experiences. All the staff fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Cherie, ( student advisor) is always checking in on students, and made it a mission during covid to reach out to students on a continual basis, and encouraged students to reach out to her if they needed anything. Jessica, the director, is ALWAYS cheerful and loved by all the students. Vivian will make you smile even if you don't feel like it, because she has a 'joke of the day'. She also helps you leave with confidence, by means of her interview strategies, resume writing and professional skills. I don't normally write reviews, but if there is someone in a similar situation i was in a year ago, maybe this can be of assistance.

I had some issues with my schedules and they helped a lot to squeeze me even to other campus just for me to finish my studies on time. I finished Business Administration and Management. I had a blast. For me, Robert Eirich is the best professor for Business. I learned a lot from him. He doesn’t depend on the books. He taught us above and beyond regarding business. His own experiences, other people’s experiences, and the real world of business. No spoon feeding. When you graduate from his class, you are darn strong and ready for the real deal. I started attending cdi college in September 25, 2018. me experience with CDI started off really rocky, to say the least. CDI offers online computer courses that are difficult to navigate and clunky at best. Kathy Norton was my first instructor through CDI. Without Kathy help I would have struggled with completing the computer portion of the courses. Kathy was able to walk me through any issues I was having and her bubbly personality made attending class fun. Next I the pleasure of being taught by Dr.Bimal for a week long course. He shared a wealth of information that helped to prepare me for the student career. Finally I was Placed into full time classes with Rob Eirich. I don't not have enough good words to say about this man. Rob has taught me more than I ever thought I would learn both related to my course and just in life skills. My final impressions of the school, the Admin seems disorganized, the courses are mediocre at best and I was not told that CDI IS NOT AN ACCREDITED SCHOOL until halfway through my program. The school itself isn't anything special. The instructors however, are incredible. I will be attending other classes through CDI in the future, Only because of the instructors. P.S. DO NOT TAKE THE COMPUTER CDI OFFERS!!!! THEY ARE GARBAGE SAVE MONEY AND BUY YOUR OWN COMPUTER.

I came into CDI West feeling nervous and anxious about inquiring about some of their program. Because of the some negative thing you hear from colleges. In contrast, I came out of it feeling absolutely sure and satisfied with the course that I picked with their help. I would also like to say that Jessica Simnovec is an honest person and genuinely puts her students best interest first. She concentrate to what you need to be successful. I am enrolled in NSA course at CDI West Edmonton. I found my instructor of the CDI West Networking course Usama Arif very knowledgeable in all he explained to me. I found this experience most helpful in my current endeavor to excel in the N.S.A course. For practical experience he also showed me a real time data center site. Wednesday March 13, 2019 To all the staff at: CDI College – Edmonton West The following is my reflective experiences as a student at CDI Edmonton West since I started at the end of August 2018 in the (Network System Administration) course. Upon starting at CDI I was introduced to a course called Student Strategies which is for all CDI students to participate in our quest to explore our attitudes toward informative self awareness, goal setting with topics that encompasses various modules within. After graduating from high school a few decades ago I was a bit skeptical about the intended purpose of such an introduction to help assist us students in being aware of their personal development, academic achievement, career paths goal, financial perspectives and goal setting As I initially thought –“This is waste of time” –I want to learn about computers and networking. Not about how I felt about myself and my experiences in life. When our instructor, Rhea gave us the intended purpose of such a course, which did not require ongoing marks or full completion I found that my attitude was eventually changed from skepticism to enthusiasmWhen we next entered the Microsoft Word portion of my course, I can recall numerous times that I became very frustrated with trying to accomplishing several individual assignment tasks. This is where Rhea stepped up to the plate to provide assistance with a stern but confident voice to assist me in my quest to complete , my assignments with a new sense of pride and a greater appreciation. I can assure you not all educators rise above and beyond to show respect and diligent direction to assist students to achieve their very best with their honest intentions. Even till this day months after I finished the particular courses and assignments that is under Rhea’s direction I find myself engaging in short little conversations with her. They are always welcomed with a smile and her patience to hear me out and commend me for my ongoing achievements and effort. I know instructors get paid to instruct students and enjoy their roles at CDI College Edmonton West. But I feel it worthy to say two simple words to express Rhea’s confidence in me “Thank-you” P.S – Rhea, I did incorporate my spell check, my text alignment, my font style, size and paragraph spacing to fit the occasion at hand. In conclusion, when I was asked if would participate in the CDI College Edmonton West review I decided to focus on these particular experiences that has helped shape my positive attitude. I am more diligent and patient with myself to continue on with my N.S.A course to reach my eventual academic pinnacle that I know I will achieve. Kelly makes the course enjoyable and sharing her experiences with us is amazing. It is a challenging program. Kelly cares for her students and wants them to be successful.
