They give you 2 hours to move out your entire dorm, clean it and be off the property. WITH OUT the use of carts in the elevators (elevators are turned off). People on the same floor as the outside doors can use carts but for anyone down or upstairs cannot easily move out. Especially for family members trying to help who are injured and need the elevator. Shame Canton... shame shame shame.

Secretary Rebecca Blackmon has worked there for 18 years & laughs online about how she can go on facebook all day from her work. I know its her right to free speech but since she's on the job I don't think it's right they let her use Facebook for trolling! She says I'm fat and ugly and calls me "Sacco the Hutt"... Wish I was kidding but Im not & it says a lot about this institution that they pay a grown woman to act so childishly online. If she is going to behave that way she should not be representing the school or at the very least not be on the clock while she's doing it! This has been going on for years, it's pretty immature & a waste of the institution's money to be paying her while she trolls away. I have never heard of a job that lets you use Facebook all day, terrible. By the way she also spends her time saying everyone on welfare is worthless and how much better than them she is because she has a job. Again it's fine for her to feel that way but why are you paying her to do this? Someone needs to talk to her about being more of a grownup

The financial aid office is a mess. Nice people who help when they can but end up messing it up in the end causing you to either owe more money or dropping your schedule. If I could find another school in NYS who had my program I would gladly transfer immediately. Not worth the time or money. Update: They do not fix their pot holes all year and it creates bathtub sized pot holes that ruin your wheel bearings. Do not go to this school.

We visited SUNY Canton to get a look at their four year vet tech program. This is what my son wants to major in on his way to becoming a veterinarian. I liked the four year program with the option to do an additional year to get a vet management add on an get two degrees. However, we were not as impressed with the community, architecture of the school and the overall distance from home.

I’d rate zero if I could, the people in the one hop shop are hardly useful, food stinks, and the job acceptance rate is terrible. Even if you get state aid, you’ll likely still end up paying nearly $80,000 for a 4 year degree. Some of the faculty are helpful but most of them give up on their students very easily.

Most of the classes are good. Many of the office staff are very rude and unhelpful. They lack in communication skills. There always seems to be one fee or another!

This school was nothing but a nightmare for me. The Financial aid office screwed me up. I did a whole semester, fine and great. Come second semester I’m in class for over a month and they pull me out in the hall to tell me something is wrong with everything and that I shouldn’t have been coming to class and everything I did for the month didn’t count. Took me years to pay back that loan for absolutely NOTHING. Every time I needed some help, they’d make me an appointment, and I’d trek through snow a mile away just for them to cancel on me. Just beware. I should have sued them for doing me like this.

I obtained a computer degree in 2014 from Canton. This institution did not turn me into a Liberal zombie. That said, the number one thing you must keep in mind is cost, nearly all colleges in America have inflated costs, do you want to be thousands in debt with a bad job after? Consider vocational training & just working after high school. Choose wisely & do your research. Nearly everything I learned at Canton I fast track learned again in military tech school for a cyber job. I wasn't required to pay for it or take a mandatory ENG 101 course. Lastly, upstate NY is a boring, desolate, cold, Rust Belt like area for anyone considering studying there who is not from such a place. I do miss the friendships & had great experiences in Canton.

As an adult already working full-time SUNY Caton was one of the only universities which made obtaining a degree possible. They offer online degrees in bachelors, associates, and certificate degrees. There is vast yet concise range of academic majors which are applicable in the current job market. Considering the online program, the staff and instructors are helpful via email, phone and web-based. I highly recommend for adults seeking to further their education.

Suny Canton cops are racist. Current high school seniors and parents please be aware and think about the safety of yourself and your kids before sending them to Suny Canton. I can't stress this anymore but be careful.
