The internet is exceptional, I was able to download the Mobile game by the name of League of Legends in under 2 minutes record time. Quite exquisite for this institutional facility building.

Unfortunately there is No 0 star, people from Madagascar cannot apply because there is no internet based test there , humber does not accept the revised paper based , just lost CAD75 , the admission team is rude

Honestly, the libraries here are really bad. I mean the new one has a nice view and everything, but I don't understand why the quiet study space is not enforced. Is this because of the lack of space on campus that people have no where to go but to the library to socialise? I don't know how anyone ever gets any work done with so many people talking.

Varinder Singh

This is the most low key racist college ever. Especially Heather Lowry dean associate of IT and media studies. Trust me there’s big conspiracy going on in this college. All they care about is money and never understand someone’s legit problem. Instead they tend to screw students in every possible way.

I'll ride carefully today!

I tried to call them everyday for at least 3 times a day for the past 2 weeks, NO ONE answered my phone and they just kept me waiting and waiting and waiting... my experience is exactly same as the review below. Attended Humber before, absolutely the most garbage school ever, everything there is so expensive. Im in Sheridan now, wish i could have my time and money back from scumbag Humber!

Some professors were nice some very rude. The worst part was 2 months students placement which was actually free work for companies that collaborate with Humber college. They get students working 2 month for free, no any payment, no job offered. this is exploitation of students just to get graduation certificate.

I've graduated from Humber and its been a breeze. Good faculty members, some of them were industry experts and great infrastructure. Highly recommend studies at this place.

I loved my experience here! I couldn’t be more proud to say I graduated from Humber College. I met new friends, experienced Frosh Fest, enjoyed every class and gained 20 pounds from the great food in the cafe. I didn’t live on campus but I enjoyed fun sleepovers with my girls who did live there. Also, the garden is absolutely beautiful in the spring. I loved to hang out and study there when the weather was nice. I would do it all over again if I could. Nothing like having Humber memories to share. #HumberHawks4ever

Just finishing up my 3rd year of electrical engineering And can't wait to get out. Environment in the college is a nightmare. Forget about finding a quiet place to sit as the whole college is filled with non stop talking in languages you can't understand. The majority of the teachers in my program did not care whether you understood the material, they'd rather rush through the material as fast as possible so they can get out 30 mins early and beat the "traffic“. Course coordinator was changed for electrical engineering, (I wonder why) so hopfully they start to make improvements. I would recommend that you don't attend this school.

Had a wonderful experience. Excellent institution with great professors, many of them kind and understanding. A fine balance of theoretical and hands on learning.

Nice and suitable place for studying and very easy access to the college. Has a close by bus stop and Starbucks is located next to it. Also the IELTS examination centre was close to it (walking distance)... Might need more cleaning services though.

I was planning to take a course with their continuing education early this year. Not only did they cancel my class two days before the date of the class, they also weren't responsive to my emails regarding the class cancellation and refund. The IT department wasn't professional either. They asked my personal information to find my account but they ended up just sending me a general info web link that I can just find on my own without giving away all my personal information. Overall, very unpleasant memory about this organization.

Humber does not care about their students. Choose another college.

I used to love this college as I've been attending since 2016. Now, it seems the college is in the interest of only themselves and the money in their pockets. The college keeps saying one thing then doing another. I find it quite ridiculous to be forced to go back in person in the MIDDLE of a semester and pandemic. . I'm in the BCom - Human Resources Management program and we don't have labs, just theory classes. I don't understand why classes that are theory based need to return? The cases are incredibly high and the new variant is all the more contagious than the previous ones, with no doubt many more variants coming soon. The class sizes range anywhere from 50-80 students and Humber is asking us to go back to in person classes where there is safety precautions and having to be in a room with this many students. Is our health and safety a joke? I live with my mother and grandparents who are all over the age of 60 and I would be putting their health at risk by commuting on public transportation (which by the way there is a bus shortage and the busses are incredibly packed) and classes with no physical distancing. Not to mention, why can't we just finish the semester off and transition into in person classes in September? You're asking us to reschedule our work/personal lives just for a few weeks until the semester is done? This makes 0 sense. I have anxiety over Covid and risking the health of myself and my family, yet Humber doesn't want to accommodate their students' interests. Seneca is offering their students the choice of how they want their learning delivered - online, in person, hybrid. If Humber did this I'm sure students would favour the college more. I'm definitely considering switching to Seneca where they care about the interests of their students. Everyone I've talked to in my classes also feels the same way about this situation. Humber is dealing with addressing students concerns very poorly.

Great school. especially the design department, all the teachers are very knowledgeable and experienced in their fields, they are also very helpful to each and every student

Sarah Singh

Going to Humber College is the worst thing you could ever do for yourself. I am a student with a disability and there was absolutely no support for me there. They expected me to do everything (including the job of the counsellor) and also expected me to be grateful. The teachers did nothing to help students. One teacher failed me and targeted me in my last year because he was bitter about losing his job after getting years of bad evaluations from students for being unorganized and generally insensitive. He made me get poor grades, just because he was targeting me while in my placement. The disability services people told me that missing class for my grandmother's funeral was "just an excuse" and that my mother "didn't want to have to take care of me for the rest for her life" They kept me in the program for as long as they could because they got extra funding .They have absolutely no morals, and no regard for their students.

Thoughts on Humber and Advertising and Marketing Comm program: Not the best college. I am in my last semester of the Advertising and Marketing Comm program and it’s been messy. The program is not designed well and many classes are repeats ie I had media planning last semester and campaign planning this semester and my prof (the same person) is essentially recycling slides. We take several design courses even though this course isn’t designed to lead to a career in design, they’d be much better off providing a course in getting certified for google ads or a course designed to mastering excel. I’ve had a couple issues with the program coordinator, she’s extremely scatter brained and either too busy to genuinely care or flat out just doesn’t. Leads more with emotion than logic and honestly, is hard to communicate with. Most profs, especially the tenured ones have been out of real practice for over 20 years. Many have had their hay day in days long gone and are no longer relevant and you can tell that they aren’t industry people, but educators who are honestly out of touch. Profs are very hit and miss. There are issues within the schools lines of communications as well, yesterday I got an email saying I had failed my midterms but apparently the entire program was sent the message in error. Prior to this program I was enrolled in the bachelor of jazz and it was run a hell of a lot better and the profs were world class. This place is not without scandal, my friend was harassed for being gay and even though Humber has a ZERO tolerance policy, the people in question faced little to no consequences because one of them is the daughter of the head of English, Yousef, who I hear is also extremely homophobic and generally rude to his students. If you don’t believe me check out his ratings on rate my prof. Humber doesn’t actually care about standards, they just say they do in order to attract students. Those who lie, cheat and are generally lacking moral are given second and third chances. Those who have issues with the above are made to “suck it up”. Take note of this warning if you are someone who takes notice of these things. The food here is garbage and more than that, expensive. Your choices are either stale pizza pizza, take out sushi, greasy fries/burgers or an overpriced “shawarma” spot. Price ranges from 6-7 dollars per meal if you’re going with an unhealthy pizza slice and soda or 14 dollars for a moderately healthy mainly veggie shawarma. Just bring your own food or eat at home. The best thing about humber isn’t the faculty or staff. The best thing about humber is the students, I’ve met some really amazing people during my 3 years here and have had some fun along the way. They were definitely the main reason I stayed. To be frank, don’t come to school here unless you’re going for something very specific or for a program that has been well vetted like the music program or some other unique offering. As far a general programs like admc and academic upgrading.. just don’t do it. Sheridan and Seneca are much better schools and after hearing other people’s experience, I regret not transferring.

I love my profs, program, and courses! Currently heading into my 4th year of the Bachelor of Commerce Hospitality and Tourism program. But my experience dealing with the department of Financial Aid/Admissions is an absolute nightmare. I came into the degree program after completing a diploma and when they switched up "SRS" to "MyHumber" my courses were carried over incorrectly and it took a year to fix. So here I am thinking I have 1 year left, when really after everything finally got sorted out it looks like I'm going to be there for another semester. Also, getting a hold of Financial Aid is ridiculously difficult. Not to mention the woman who usually works at the front desk of the registrar at Lakeshore has been nothing but rude to me.

The profs are good, well most of them anyways. The website is a disaster, i almost chose another school due to the outdated website that is impossible to use. For the prices i pay to go to the institute you would think the college had a few thousand dollars to spare to update or get a new website. I am not talking about the information pages that are actually updated and easy to find things, its when you actually become a student and use MyHumber to pay for tuition, that's where you see what i'm talking about.

Went to school for three years in the Electronics Engineering Technology program. Honestly, not a bad school to go too. Yes there are some difficulties especially with just funding for my program because higher ups are more focused on mechanical engineering and such so there is a bit of a challenge that way, they didn’t seem to really care about us electronic folks as much as they did the other engineering programs. But I did feel like mostly everything I learned was useful, I use it day to day now in my current position. The curriculum could use some tweaks in regards to more updated classes that’s for sure but I learned a lot there and my current position taught me everything I didn’t have coming out of school. Some of my professors are a joke but professors like Robert Lengyel, Mark Rector, Raji Subramanian, Jordan Dimitrov, Mehdi Akbari and Brandeen McDonald are all worth taking. I seriously learned more from all of these professors then I did any other one of the many professors I had and that’s because these professors actually care about you and want you to learn all you can. There were lots of events that took place in regards to my program that I was apart of and I seriously enjoyed every one of them because these professors helped me and made me feel motivated to work hard and push through any difficulties I had. My recommendation for this college is to hire staff exactly like these professors because this will make students happy and enjoy being there. The rest of my professors were unprofessional and didn’t care. I remember everyone in my class giving one professor specifically a very bad review every year because he was literally useless but he looks good on paper so Humber ignored our complaints and the same complaints from students in other years/years before.

Terrible service. Cant even pay my registration fee because the website is so bad. Old flash player wont work with android devices so its mandatory to have a windows computer and you will not be able to access your classes. The IT department will just transfer you back to the options menu when they cannot assist you. It gets really annoying when you spend an hour+ on the phone then have to repeat the process. And then on top they wont answer the office phones and require you to leave a message to have someone call you back which probably wont be the same day.

The administration do not care about the education or bettering of individuals. All they care about is getting their fee$. Even during this pandemic those in power have no empathy towards their students. Lost your job that's too bad. Can't afford it, we'll send the collection agencies after you. Try to improve your situation through this money grabbing institution, forget about it. Why even bother calling it a college, just rename it Humber loan sharks theyll take care of you that's for sure.

I am very disappointed on Humber College call waiting line. Their information on the website is not accurate and does not match everyone's situation, so unfortunately I need to talk to them over the phone or go there in person. In the last 4 days I have been calling regularly and intensely. So many times they made me wait on the line and after 10 minuets of waiting they hang up on me. Today is my last attempt to speak to them on the phone. I have been waiting already for about 20 minutes on the line, and nobody answers. They leave the Humber radio on, and from time to time apologize for the long waiting time. They even leave you waiting with no sound or radio for a few minutes, probably hoping you will give up. I have never been so disappointed on any other call experience. Of course I wrote them an email as well, and of course nobody answered me. I will probably have to go there in person...So disappointing...

The school doesn't care about its students and is only motivated by money. The only constant you can rely on when you're at Humber is that the student will be screwed over if possible. The school will consistently make decisions that will affect your experience negatively. They call themselves an Institute of Technology but constantly fail to live up to this. Registration is always a mess because they never plan adequately and it ends up crashing. You won't be able to know which classes/timeslots you can register for until it's too late. The school won't even provide the option of hybrid course delivery even though they claim to be an institute of technology.

Ravjot Singh

Hey guys. I went to humber north campus today. I was shocked to see so many people inside the building. Although they have taken proper caution by using this so called Humber guardian app. But I hardly think that if they have any knowledge to maintain a safe distance. I was thinking only those students will come who have lab classes but I think 50 % out of them were just there to hangout . With this criteria I believe there is no doubt that we ll see a massive increase in the number of covid cases. All thanks to the management

Terrible, unprofessional school. Allows students to complete courses with "grades" missing even though, those grades aren't reflected on blackboard. My boyfriend completed a $1500 course, he filled out every aspect needed and the grades posted back to him were in the high 90's. Now Humber is refusing to give him a certification based on some criteria missing. What BS, because they arent event willing to look into the course material and spell out what was missing, and how his grades did not reflect that. I used to think humber was a great option for college, but emails are vague and uninterested. This is not an institution that I would ever reccomend, especially to new students or international students. There is not enough care given here.

I had the opportunity to stay in students residence building this summer (2018) and observe changes taking place this year. It appears that the University of Guelph Humber is offering more programs however I am concerned about the real true reason of expansion. Having lots of conversations with students and staff I have discovered that majority of students come from India and Canadians attending this university represent only and if 10% of total population. These numbers are alarming in a sense, if you give it a thought. The question here is: is Humber University is genuinely caring for and focusing on education or is it becoming another greedy school with focus only on huge profits that come from international students charging $20,000 and more per semester. Well I guess it’s up to you to decide about it however myself I love architecture so I am going to post few the most recent photos of undertaken expansion. Take a look, cheers

Anjali Persaud

The Humber College School of Business is the worst possible school to go to for business. Especially the Business Management program. The professor do not know how to teach properly i would say i learned from 3 professor who knew what they were doing and how to get through to students. The majority of professors there treat you like you are incompetent and expect you to come into the program with the knowledge of everything they are going to "teach". You can seek out help from the LRC and other resources but you are set up to fail from the start. On top of all that you have the WORST program coordinator for business management who is not helpful and very unprofessional, does not matter how professional you are with the coordinator or staff. 100% would not recommend attending this college

t-dot_west-end

Some of the teachers are good but most of them aren't. I don't really like the environment of the College. it's like the adult version of high school. I'm not a square boring person and i understand that partying is part of college life/atmosphere but you can tell that the majority of the people did not mature past high school. It's like when they graduated high school, their mentality/maturity just stopped there

After I sent them a week later they said a "summary of backlogs" is missing. How can it be missing if I was never asked to upload such a thing. Googled the term and cant find anything like that. Tried calling at the Humber international center for the past week and no one answers. I went to the international center and the person handling the admission had gone home at 4PM. I want my $150 application fee back!

First semester at this college was amazing, onto my second now. I met great people, great teachers (with the exception of one) and had a great time. If you want to succeed they have the tools and people to get you there. LiNX, their on campus pub is fantastic and their new building looks great. The entire campus feels more like a university rather than a college (maybe because its connected to Guelph-Humber). If you have a program you're interested in and Humber College offers it you definitely should consider Humber College over others. Somewhat related, I wouldn't eat on campus everyday. It's expensive and you'd burn through a LOT of money, fast. Also, the required readings of a few of my courses were custom editions for Humber, meaning I got shafted in terms of buying the textbook from other sources. That doesn't really detract from the school itself, however.

I love Humber College. In 2015, I enrolled in the Personal Support Worker program, but quickly discontinued that program because I did not like it much. Then, in January of 2016, I enrolled in the Paralegal Education program, and I've recently graduated in August of 2017. Let me break down the school in the best way that I can. Location: The location of the school is pretty good. They have new bus terminals with buses going to and from Malton, Brampton, Mississauga, and the TTC, of course. It's great for students from neighbouring cities. The Interior: Humber College is a good looking institution. They've in the past couple years added the new building, which is called the LRC. Very nice addition. The Library: Great library, very good amount of computers to use. You can also borrow laptops. Just a quick note: during exam times, the library can be extremely busy, even when it's almost time for it to close for the day. Just make a note of that. The Bookstore: Great bookstore. Has almost everything you need to prepare yourself for your various courses. I don't bother with all the pens, paper and stationary there, as I find it way better to go to Dollarama and get those items. However they have great textbooks, and you can rent text books, buy them, and sell them when you no longer want them. During the busy times in the book store (start of the semester, usually) they have 3-4 cashiers on the tills, which is very helpful and makes the line go faster. They also have souvenir like items, such as mugs, shot glasses, key chains, etc. They also have apparel, such as sweatshirts, sweat pants, t-shirts, and the likes. They even sell make up. Bathroom Facilities: The bathrooms are cleaned often, and the cleaning male and female personnel are so nice. Everyone should thank them more often for the dirty work they have to put up with. Athletics: Surprisingly, for the amount of time that I spent at Humber, I never once set foot inside of the gym or used any of their services, but I've heard they are quite good. Restaurants on site: They have a lot of good selection of foods, especially in the cafe. Their breakfast is really good, it's awesome for people travelling from a distance that weren't able to eat breakfast in the morning, or for those early risers that need some energy. Notably, Booster Juice was among one of my favourites. Classrooms: The classrooms are generally in good condition, not always air conditioned, however. So beware for those hot summer months. Tim Hortons: Let me tell you, the Tim Hortons inside of Humber is pretty good. But guys, please beware of the long lines, especially during the start of the Fall and Winter semesters. You're literally better going to Gourmet Express inside of the college to satisfy your breakfast needs. The lineups are so long, you could very well be late for your first class of the day if you don't come early enough. Even better, get a coffee on your way to school. I attended one of my semesters during the summer, and that is literally the only semester that you won't find yourself standing in a lengthy line up. The employees here are OKAY, they could brush up on their professionalism and mannerisms. Overall: In it's entirety, Humber College is a great institution for those who are looking to expand their educational resume. It's nice, easy to access, inviting, modern and clean. I absolutely enjoyed my time at Humber, and I am proud to say I am a graduate from this school. I really miss it already, but luckily I am an Alumni now, so I do go there from time to time. I will always remember Humber as one of the best institutions I've ever attended.

Great school! Lots of great programs and the facilities for my program are exceptional. But need to improve in some areas and re-evaluate the value of courses in some programs as some of the material in one class is touch upon in the same way across several class as it becomes redundant. Also they need to improve accessibility for all disability needs. I'm not personally affected by a need but I've noticed Humber is still lacking. But overall I've been loving my time here.

The Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, commonly known as Humber College, is a public College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1967, Humber has three main campuses: the Humber North campus, the Lakeshore campus, and the Humber Orangeville campus. Humber was established in 1967 under its founding President, Gordon Wragg. The first new section of Humber College opened on Monday September 11, 1967 at James S. Bell Elementary School, a public school on Lake Shore Boulevard West. The Lakeshore Campus began with the addition of the manpower retraining programs on Queen Elizabeth Way in Etobicoke. In November 1968, North Campus was officially opened by Mayor Edward A. Horton of Etobicoke and Mayor Jack Moulton of York. In the early 1970s, student enrollment was rapidly increasing which led Humber to expand its business and technology programs at both the North and Lakeshore Campuses. Humber College had the largest group of business students in the province. Three year co-op programs were developed in the early 1970s in a range of technology and business programs. Humber became Canada's largest college with over 27,000 full-time and 50,000 part-time learners. By the early 1980s Humber was developing new programs to respond to business and industry demands by focusing on flexibility in class schedules, including a weekend College. Its skill-based training courses included self-paced programming and, along with Holland College in Prince Edward Island, became one of the National Centers for industry driven DACUM curriculum. Humber introduced flexible manufacturing and was a pioneer in introducing computer applications in technology programs. Lakeshore Campus, at its new permanent location on the lakeshore, was the first college to introduce a solar technology program to respond to the needs of that growing industry of the time. Humber had a large international outreach program, working in over 20 countries. With the assistance of ADB, the Government of Canada (CIDA), it developed the largest international program of all of the Canadian colleges by 1987,[citation needed] introducing the concept of responsive tertiary education to countries throughout Africa and Asia. In 1983 the campus was used for filming of the first Police Academy film, which was released the following year. After the mid-1980s, the college concentrated more on arts and applied arts programs and refocused its energy on internal processes rather than program innovation and on local rather than national or international activities. It is an Ontario Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. In 2005, the school launched a show called Distinguished Artists on TVOntario, produced by students in the School of Creative & Performing Arts. In the 2005–06 school year, Humber added new bachelor's degrees in Contemporary Music, Creative Advertising, and Interior Design. The four-year Creative Advertising program is the only such degree in Canada. On 25 January 2006, the French ambassador to Canada Daniel Jouanneau visited the North and Lakeshore campuses of Humber College. Jouanneau and school officials suggested the program might eventually be extended to the culinary arts and media-related programs, such as journalism. On February 2, 2009, Humber College students became the first to contact an astronaut in orbit using an apparatus they built and operated. They made contact with Sandra Magnus at the International Space Station from a lab room at the school's Rexdale campus. On January 10, 2018, Humber College’s Lakeshore Campus is the first college in Ontario to receive Fair Trade Campus designation from the Canadian Fair Trade Network (CFTN.) for its promotion of social and environmental sustainability and innovation. Recognized already as one of Canada's Greenest Employers, achieving the designation is part of Humber’s five-year plan to make its campuses more sustainable.

Stay away from Humber College! They lie, cheat and steal from their most valuable assets, students. They don’t care about our safety or mental health. They refuse to listen to thousands of students comments, concerns and questions about a safe return to the campus. It’s absolutely unbelievable and stressful. We have to choose risking our physical and mental health or find a different college to attend. That’s the option they gave us. Completely unacceptable!!!

The people who answer the phones when you call need to learn how to answer the phone properly! They also need to know about the courses offered to students and/or refer us to someone who can help.

I can’t believe RECO chose Humber College to certify future generations of Real Estate Professionals. Horrible customer service, no one cares there if you sink or swim and when you look for customer service help they lie, then refer you to their website which doesn’t mention the issue you’re having. I wish I could give it minus 5 stars. Please don’t spend your money or time here. Take your education seriously and do your certificate/diploma program(s) elsewhere. Just horrible. It’s a shame Fanshawe or Mohawk doesn’t offer this course. I’ve graduated from both of those and don’t have enough good things to say about them! Humber college totally ignored students’ feedbacks and situations. Instead of providing flexibility and effective learning tools, Humber has forced us to follow their decision merely! This has results a number of my international fellows pausing their education because they cannot come to Canada for in person class. This is so heart breaking! We feel so disappointed, confused, and alone being abandoned by our own school!

Roger Moore

The North Campus.... the Learning Commons always noisy, even the so-called "Library" on the 4th floor is noisy and almost impossible to study. Some (not all) of the international students are using this place as a "hang-out" area. I appreciate International students coming to Canada and contributing towards our great Nation of Canada. However, it would be nice if Humber College can perhaps integrate some sort of "Academic Etiquette" or something along that line for new students. I have heard and witnessed on numerous occasions, students speaking loudly, yelling each others name, and listening/watching videos all without the use of a headphone. The worst part of it all is that the staff says nothing. You can go and complain to the staff and security, no one does anything. I guess Humber is afraid of losing all these students. All about the money it seems. So they are allowed to do whatever they want - or so it appears. Will definitely not recommend this college to anyone; at least not this location.

Ben Monette

Have fun Fighting for parking. School is good if you can get there on time. Usually spend 20-30 mins finding a parking spot and walking to class. Thats only if i dont have to take a shuttle bus because their parking is always full, in that case its around 45 mins to an hour to get to class from the time i arrive to school. Horrible setup that NEEDS TO CHANGE!

I would give Humber 5 stars before, but now I see this college does not care about their students at all. They made some programs online, some programs in person with no logic at all and did not allow students to choose. No response from dean, no response from International Center. I will not recommend you to go there if you are an international student.

I graduated from Police Foundations in 2004, and later attended York University after a 14 year career in law enforcement. I was able to enter my career immediately after graduation, and this diploma was likely the reason for it. Ultimately, I have fond memories of this school, and I highly recommend the Police Foundations program and the south campus. The campus was great and I enjoyed the people, but many of the students were still young and not serious about their education. York is 10x harder than this college. However, Police Foundations was enjoyable, and the profs made some lasting impacts on my life. Specifically the books (college writing, with readings, and college business communications). Your whole life will require this level of education. Some cute girls also made it enjoyable for an 18 year old, and the grounds by the lake were lovely in the summers, as we jogged around them in Police Academy style! It is now a pleasant memory. That being said, if you can academically achieve higher, I would go to university. If you just want a blue collar job, I recommend it 100 percent. Unfortunately, as I no longer want to be in law enforcement, this diploma has limited applicability now, and will only give you 30 credits to university.

Should have stayed at Fanshawe, I regret coming to this school every day. If you are planning to attend this school please reconsider. There are very few professors here that are actually capable of teaching the material and even fewer professors are actually capable of speaking proper English not to mention have almost no respect for their students. This school doesn't care about their students being successful but instead puts all of its' efforts into grabbing as much money as possible from the students. When I asked my course coordinator if not being enrolled in a math course would affect me in any way I was told that I would be fine and not have to enroll for any extra semesters. I went back to the same coordinator the next semester to find out he lied to me and now I need to waste my entire summer at this garbage school. I have heard of many other students having similar experience while attending this school. Well that's my rant for Humber, hopefully anyone else that attends this school is able to have a more pleasant experience than we did.

Worst institution ever! All of the teachers (refuse to call them professors) barely understood what they were teaching. They were so disorganized and dimwitted. The campus wasn't great. You're lucky to find a seat in the learning commons at any given time. I transferred to Lakeshore, where the quality of education isn't much better, but at least it's a beautiful campus. Seriously, Sheridan, Seneca, and probably even a knock off college like Trios is better than this place. Don't waste your time and money going to this ridiculous excuse for a place of education.

mohammad t

Don't apply in here because you will waste your time and get nothing. The admission officer does not answer the phone at all and doesn't even reply your emails. My experience very bad especially the service very poor. For example the admission officer for the practical nursing doesn't help you and doesn't answer the phone and doesn't reply your emails. She just try to waste student's time and make them disappointed. I really regret because I just wasted my time.

Jake Barxton

There are not enough teachers for certain courses, so classes are divided into sections per semester. Of course this is typical of any educational institution. I'm in the IT section. What is not typical, however, is how they give bad teachers to certain sections. The courses have one or two teachers running them, with other - and I will say it - Indian/brown teachers who have no idea what they are doing, whom regurgitate the work created by the main teachers, IE these Indian teachers are not teaching at all. Although this is a learning institution, you are expected to know what you're doing BEFORE doing the work. I'm not sure how that works out, but alright then. My first semester I got put in with the good teachers. These teachers are all white people. I'm not a racist, let's start out by saying that. If I was I wouldn't be living in the areas around Humber. But the brown teachers specifically seem to not care about their jobs, and are very bad at doing them. So I get past first semester. Second semester rolls along, and I get put into one of the "We care less about your future so here you go" sections. Other students from my section actually had to attend the classes of the teachers who create the courses so they could actually understand the material. I saw the flaws in this, in that I should not have to attend my initial classes and then the same classes again just to get what I'm paying for. Most of the time they tried going in, they would get thrown out. So whatever. Aside from class related issues, the book store is terribly overpriced. Many of the computers in the IT section are terribly slow, having a boot time of up to 30 minutes! That's 30 minutes of less work you get done per class, and about what, 5 classes in 1 day? So now that's an extra 2.5 hours of work you have to do at home. But don't worry, guys! Instead of investing in decent computers, they're putting in a 20 million dollar library, even though the one they have is already great! Money well spent... right? I have since dropped out of Humber. My future could have been bright, but it's not anymore because they decided to give me a bunch of teachers who can barely speak English. Oh, and I'm also 10k+ in debt. A complete waste of time and money, and now my family is upset and disappointed in me because they don't understand how things work at this college. Thanks, Humber!

Unprofessional & lack of transparency. I am currently enrolled in humber's Real Estate education program. Ever since COVID-19 this whole online exam process has been a complete nightmare. OUTSOURCING NON LOCAL COMPANIES such as proctortrack was a bad move on humbers end. I cant believe how unprofessional this situation is being handled. (Just to give a backstory Humber opened up their online exams 3 weeks ago. I have been awaiting since march 1st, 2020 for an exam date. I was able to book an exam for may 5th, which they charged me twice for and then proceeded to say may 5th time slots were unavailable and the next available date wouldnt be until May 23, 2020 (Well why would your system let me book for may 5th then? complete scam). Finally after 14 days I got my refund and a message stating I could write my exam on my original date may 5th. Now I go to write my exam using proctortrack(nightmare invasive software). I believe everything went well then the person watching me take the exam got bored and was rushing me to finish. Once I finished I went to check my exam upload and there was a noticed that there had been a "lagg in my exam and protortrack advises I will need to retake exam". I reached out to humber ASAP and now I have to re-pay and rewrite my exam. And the best part is. NO EXAMS ARE AVAILABLE until JUNE 15. This is completely unfair. MY suggestion would be if you cant handle the amount of people registered in this course then you should pause registration and let those who been enrolled since SEPTEMBER have first dibs at exams.

I signed up for a course, was less than one week in and decided it wasn't for me, and they refused to refund ANY of my tuition - not even the application fee. They said I had to cancel "seven days in advance" of starting a course. Huh? I've taken courses at several universities that allow you a large grace period to sign up for a course and withdraw while still receiving back some of your tuition (depending on how long you're signed up before you withdraw of course, but most give at least a MONTH and none I've ever encountered said you have to cancel "in advance" to receive some tuition back). How are students able to fully understand if a course/program is for them without trying it for a little while first "live"? What about extenuating circumstances? This a greedy and strange policy and one I've never encountered with any other post-secondary institutions. Enjoy the $600, Humber. I will tell everyone for the rest of my life about this experience, and will be strongly saying "buyer beware" anytime your name comes up. I guarantee you'll lose more money in the long run than you gained from me by sticking to this comedic and ridiculous policy, a policy which is, of course, stated in a convoluted manner on your website.

Arka Faradid

Unbelievably ignorant. As soon as Covid hit, they just gave up on making any efforts. Nobody answers calls or emails anymore, they simply used covid as an excuse to stop caring. Still charging the Maximum FULL FEE AMOUNT, and giving back 10 percent of what they were supposed to do. God bless covid for saving Humber College so much money and trouble. Waiting for hours on the phone to talk about urgent matters is not how a college should respond to it's students in times of need.

Let me preface this by mentioning that I am not an international student, I have grown up in the area and know from personal experience what the standard is at other schools. I’ve been thinking about writing this for months, I have a deeply passionate disdain for this excuse of an educational institution. I’ll break it down into 2 main points, and I do hope that someone at Humber reads this and takes a moment of introspection instead of ignoring criticism as is standard at Humber. 1. The abysmal online classroom For over a decade, Humber has used Blackboard as an online classroom. This is a software that runs on code from the early 2000s. I’ve literally met people who went to Humber 10 years ago and used this same exact online classroom, absolutely embarrassing. It’s designed like a forum from the early years of the internet age. Almost all of my issues with the school stem from this. Every teacher uses it differently, students have no idea how to use it and struggle to organize their work, and you can just see the passion escape your fellow students and professors as their energy is spent navigating the system instead of learning. I get more exhausted from using this website than any assignment I’ve ever had. Its been a year since we’ve gone fully online for school, and Humber has done NOTHING to improve the literal basis of all of our school experience. I once emailed the online learning centre and pretty much got a laugh in the face. They have no interest or plans to improve the student/teaching experience. And it’s surely not due to a lack of resources and time, they genuinely do not care, but on Twitter and on the website they’ll be sure to pretend to care! Hey! Are you literally losing your mind because of the chaotic learning environment we’ve created for you?? Awww well you should come to our guidance offices and talk about your problems :) 2. Lack of support for new ideas Another major issue I’ve seen at Humber is how behind they are at least in my program. It’s obviously clear that my profs have experience in their fields of expertise, but whether it be the curriculum or influence from investors, they’re knowledge is broken down to its bare roots. I’ve had profs literally lie on tests and tell me (a Gen Z) that I have the wrong idea of where my generation is going to find advertisements. There’s no room for big ideas, they’d rather you believe some warped reality of the world than ask big questions. I once had a teacher bring a guest who so innocently recommended that we use printed QR codes to gather audience information without consent. When saying this, there was no consideration for right or wrong until a student raised their hand and said “umm, isn’t that kind of illegal?” Thats the thing, they’d rather keep you in a box then let your wild ideas fly. Any time you try to move away from whats generally accepted, the profs will instantly shoot you down. Along with this, get ready to have your hard work exploited for the benefit of teachers, corporations looking for interns and all other beneficiaries. Almost every program has a mandatory internship semester where they constantly push options on you from their biggest investors. It’s literally just free labor, don’t fall for the guise of “experience.” I had one teacher say with his own words that the projects he was assigning us was meant to allow him to get new ideas for his own personal gains because he couldn’t come up with anything. Anyway, thats it. Don’t go to this school. I know places like Humber feel untouchable right now but the way I see it, the world is rapidly changing, new standards are coming into place. Humber’s inability to adapt with the times will result in it’s epic downfall. I’ll be sure to let everyone I know to stay far away from this place. Is it cheap? Yeah. That isn’t an excuse. If Humber cared or had any passion at all for their job, they wouldn’t have to use a cheap tuition as an excuse. Do better Humber, everyone is watching. Everyone can see through the cracks and man is it ever embarassing.

I love Humber. Go Humber! Trust me Humber an amazing place to begin your career and be successful in it. They have all the resources needed to take your to your goals. Being enrolled at Humber is really cool.

The College has bad name among employers-low quality programs you will not get job afterword. Low quality teachers. It's more selfstudy. Teachers come here as to third job and have no time for you. Administration misleads students. If you have to communicate with them-communicate per email and print it. If communicate through Blackboard-print also, because latter they will delete time per time all emails. Financial Aid-takes money from students OSAP, students even don't know about it. They have no right to cut 4 semesters in 3 and 1, for that reason you don't get OSAP for 1 year. Summer courses is a fraudCheck everything what you get sent, amount, student number-can be you are registered on the top of other student who dropped the course and that's why YOU don't get OSAP. Student's organization and Human Rights serves the administration, not you. If you go to them-keep originals at home, they can be stolen from you. My opinion-the college is total scam and fraud, that's why they expanding

If you guys are looking for a College to go for Esthetician and Spa Management I suggest not Humber. Although there are amazing teachers within this program overall It's not coordinated. Teacher and Manager didn't know how to answer my concerns and just say why didn't I addressed this earlier even though I raised concerns about it 3 weeks in advance. Teacher and Dean choose not to answer my question and repeat the same sentence that isn't even the concern. Clearly shows the Dean didn't even read my email properly and just agreed with his faculty. You can just see all the low stars for this school and trust me a lot of peers have the same opinion. Still a student there so hopefully this review doesn't affect my time there but its the truth so...

it’s a money eating institution, trust me those miscellaneous charges will be alot

The office administrator very bad and they don't care about students. More than two weeks I'm just waiting them to reply my emails because they don't even answer the phone. For example the admission advisor Danielle Vukelich she doesn't answer the phone at all and she doesn't reply your email if you need help or if you have question she doesn't care about students. I don't understand this lady working for what she just waste student's time. Don't waste your time and don't apply here they are not helpful at all, because they just try to make students feel disappointed.

Education = Below Average Residence = Below Average Campus = Good Student Care = Worst that I have ever seen. If you need something to be done, in the residence or education-wise, Humber College makes it harder than easier. The way Humber College handles problems, unfortunately, disgusts me. I have gone mad trying to communicate my problems. Overall, bad experience.

I went in for a tour of the campus and absolutely loved it and can't wait to go there in the fall ! My only concerns would be that there isn't a Starbucks on campus which sucks but also the fact that during the middle of the tour a bunch of little preschoolers and elementary students just started waddling around the hallways with their mothers and my tour guide told me "They just pass by sometimes" ... Don't get me wrong, but really? Its a college not a side walk.. why are their little minions walking around. It sort of eliminates the part of the college experience.

Most of the positive reviews are fake. The learning environment is subpar compared to other colleges and universities. The "college" professors treat their students like they are still in highschool. The Communication between staff and students is terrible. They screw you over with osap and are often times late when submitting important documents. The material that they give students for their programs lack context and the classrooms lack structure. There is a huge population of international students and they raise the fees higher for them because that is where most of their profit is from. They purposely raise the prices for them to keep running this terrible school. They just want money and could care less what happens to the students. AVOID GOING HERE

Have ridiculous fees to drop courses as soon as you sign up. Gives you no flexibility to move around classes. Other Universities do not have policies like this. Another way for them to make money.

Quel Solo

Apply elsewhere and save yourself the trouble from the Registrar's office, from the misinformation to the lack of information they want and only care about their money. For example, I paid my deposit, cannot register for summer courses, and now demand the full tuition before registering for classes.

New addition????. as currently stated by the school, they are closing all in person programs for atleast 2 weeks. This means that if you intend on going into a trade, you will NOT be getting your practical hours, and that those hours will be LOST with no reimbursement or given these hours back (so far it's over 16 hours being lost. Be warned if you want to apply, as you are taking the risk of LOSING money.???? I am GOING to be a student at humber but so far the service has been absolutely disgusting. Waiting weeks just to receive one piece of information that I TRIED to get over the phone but every time was told to email. The offices are rarely open and even direct contact with employees yields no results. You better have ALL your information ready months before you apply so you don't need to deal with their financial/transcript departments.

Please for your own sake, do not go to this school for any program. There is no support for you as a student. Humber does not have your best interest in mind...your money is what drives them. Please, do not go there.

Kelvin Lo (KL)

Humber College is a very good practical school. This school provides a lot of opportunities for students to learns the skill sets they need through hands on experience as well as in-class lectures. Many students graduated from the school are doing very well in the job market. However, there are racism issues in this school as well. According to my experience, small group of students are found using racial slurs or anti-immigrant comments toward other students who are visible minority. This is very unfortunate that the school is not sensitive enough to stop this culture especially when the demographic of this school is such diversified. Other than that issue, the school is actually very passionate about what they are doing.

Humber College Real Estate Online - Wow terrible! Where do I begin ... Started taking the course online, when you register for a course, on the site it shows you only have a month to finish. I didn't know that, my one month was over and the link to access the course was gone, so called support and she told me to request course extension, she said she will email me the form to fillout. She never did, so I called again, another person told me that the date is incorrect and I should ignore it, so he told me where to go to find the link and I didn't need to request a extentionin. Another issue: between reading there are tests that you need to complete to move to the next section, some of the slides specially in course 2 get stuck and doesn't even let you to click on submit. I was stuck on a slide for 45 mins, called the college, I had to leave a voice mail, no one called me back. Student support is a waste of time, it depends who you get on the phone, since their responses are contradicting. Next issue: I had to reschedule an exam after 15mins of booking, so I dropped the exam to reschedule but they only refunded $50, when you are dropping the exam there is no note to inform you that only half of what you paid will be refunded. Next issue: regarding exam on-boarding, emailed the college multiple times and noone responded if I had to do the onboarding for the exam again since I had moved for the third exam. Called and left a voicemail, someone called me back and suggested I contact Proctortrack, which is ridiculous. So I emailed Proctortrack and cc'd Humber and within an hour someone responded from Proctortrack that I don't need to do the onboarding again. Then the next day, someone from Humber emailed me that I have to do the onboarding again!!! This is ridiculous, if you have a question, you are in for a treat because everyone from the college will give you a different answer so good luck this sucks.

Humber decided to give only 2 months notice that we are going back to campus. They expect students to rearrange their whole life in just 2 months, many are forced to take the semester off or transfer to another school. Every other college and university are offering hybrid why cant you do the same. HUMBER DOES NOT CARE FOR THEIR STUDENTS

Parking is a rip off. Poor infrastructure. unorganized. over priced. Teachers teach like they just step foot in canada. Humber only cares about making money at heart and doesn't care about students, everyone is just a cash cow to them.

I just keep studying here because I am in the middle of my program but it is a terrible college.Go to George Brown or Seneca, but run away from this institution that completely ignores their students. Classes during the Pandemic where terrible teachers just left a power point and thats it I asked my frinds from Seneca and teachers did not do that at their school. Also you are gonna get a raise in your tuition every year ,congratulations !!(be prepared,it’s usually from 1,400 to 2,000)there is no right to complain .This school is just so lazy with their studenst. There is literally no way to express a disagreement with Humber. I have written letters to the institution with no response at all. Ignite, which is supposed to protect the rights of students, ignores us and when you complain to them they get upset and say they have done a lot for students . Last time, I wrote letters to Ignite and they told me to complain to the institution, but what institution? There is no institution, no one responds to you at all .Additionally, this institution lies a lot in order to justify charges.Right at the beginning of the pandemic they raised our tuition deposit from 1000 to 3,500 saying that all the institutions in Ontario did it, and it was a lie, I myself asked my friends from other schools and it wasn't true. The same thing also happened when they increased my tuition by 1,400 dollars in 2019, their excuse was the same and again it was a lie, the other institutions of Ontario even lowered the cost of their tuition that year.Apart from everything, it is a racist institution, they don’t hire international students on campus.A staff memeber told me, they only hire canadian students or students with residence. That they will sometimes hire internationals but that was rare you and the only jobs for internationlas are at the school cafeteria. They do not give opportunities to internationals on campus .

(Translated) This is a message to my juniors and international students coming from Korea. Due to the current corona crisis, there is little to help at school. It is difficult to even check whether the tuition you have paid has been properly received or whether the course registration has been completed properly. The office is busy bombarding other departments and asking them to ask questions, and they don't reply to e-mails anymore. If I go to the office, can I fix it? No, we can't even bring it in because of Corona. Then what should I do. You have to fight in front of the office and hold on until you help. It's really unfortunate, but this is the only way. You never get help by phone or email when a problem arises. Even if I call for help in the first place, they don't answer. Now, this school's student care system is such a mess, and the damage is going to the students. if you need any help Please send an email to the relevant department first. If you don't reply within a week, go to the office. Call the appropriate department. If you throw a bomb, the whole office where the bomb is thrown is a hit. Never pay tuition in advance. When you say mine, you have to pay. For example, if you pay tuition for the fall semester in advance, you will be enrolled in the summer semester. Of course, if you do not register for the course, you will be automatically re-entered into the fall semester in some cases. If you don't want to get a headache, put in the tuition when you receive the tuition notification email. Oh, of course, there are cases where the tuition notification email does not come. It is recommended to check the academy calendar in advance. If tuition is not paid, in some cases, a $100 penalty fee will be charged or course registration will be restricted. Don't pay tuition for a year at once. The other half evaporates for some unknown reason. Just put in the amount of money offered. If you're worried, put in 500-1000 dollars more. After the corona crisis, schools are asking for tuition very early. The school website receipts are so fake that it's hard to tell what they are, so if you're not sure, just play the office chess game. In the current corona virus, everyone is probably going to catch them because they don't know, so prepare your mouth in advance. All you have to do is make a plan in advance and click Follow Plan on the day of course registration. Oh, and depending on your situation, there may be classes that you may need to take additionally. No one will tell you about this first, so you must find out by all means and methods. Future students: I do not suggest going to Humber College. I took the 8 month UX design program. It was a huge disappointment. When you sign up you think you are going to be getting 2 work placements. That is what sold me after all. The first placement you work with your entire class with a company. The next placement is up to you to find. 3 weeks with a company . Who will take you on for a meagre 3 weeks?? Not to mention international students are paying oytragoeou sums for this program. $15000!!? They are moreminterested in your moeny. If you do not finish your 3 weeks work placement by the deadline, u will have to pay for another semester to finish the course in writing .crazy. Oh you have paid for classes? Great .now our classes will be online. Actually cancelled now . Promises made but not kept.Courses seemed to be all over the place with little structure . It felt as if the students created the courses sometimes . It is ironic that a UX course provides a shameful and VERY poor user experience .! Just learn the material yourself.. don't waste ur time. Donut goto Humber . Save yourself the headache.

They are good at calling you back within a day to answer questions and take your tuition money, but once they have it; they don't call you back. This was regarding the ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) course. I asked for a refund because they did not provide me with the required study material or location for the class. I ended up speaking to other administrators who would not give an explanation to the lack of communication and refused to give me a refund on the course (not even partial refund). They asked me if I emailed them which I said I didn't as I left voicemails for different people. Because I did not have any "evidence" from an email; they said there was no proof that I tried to contact them as they stated they did not receive any voicemails. I also informed them I did not have sufficient time to study before the course began (weekend course) and they ended up mailing me the booklet after I spoke to them. I ended up receiving the study material the day before the seminar started. They may have improved their course, but I ended up losing my money and signing up at another institution. My recommendation would be sign up for the ACLS with another institution as many institutions offer the same course and provide better service and have integrity.

The campus is welcoming and courses are well taught. I enjoyed my program at Humber! However, Humber charges for transfer credits whether they get approved for the transfer or not. I was trying to transfer three courses to Humber for my program from my past undergraduate degree. I had to pay $12 to my previous institution to order a transcript, then $75 to Humber to submit my transfer credit application ($25/course), waited two weeks for the results, and found out all three courses for the transfer credits got rejected. That was a waste of money! They should change the system so that the payment is ONLY made IF the course is approved!
