Amazing. I enjoyed my Hair stylists service. I felt comfortable and relaxed. I have very thick hair and he was calm and patient with my hair. I had medium length hair and wanted it cut into a bob and a full head of highlights. Which is what I received. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well. Would reccomend this salon.

What a great hair school ! I've been frequenting it a lot since the summer of 2015 and have rarely been disappointed with the calibre of care the students deliver. BONNY who graduated was THE BEST at blow-dries! I miss her. But the quality of students Richard & Marie produce is of a high quality! My hair dying to have it look "natural" is so right-on! LOVE the atmosphere of young energy and music - a WONDERFUL combination of making "having your hair done" a GREAT experience ! Thanks to alllllll who have worked there & continue to be there!

I was long overdue for a cut and perm, so I called Richard Mar Hair School. I had had my hair cut there two years ago and was pleased with the results. So I called this morning and was told they could take me in an hour. The student who did my hair had never done a perm on a live person, just on mannequins. In spite of that, the results were very good.

I made an appointment to get a full head of low and hi lites and wanted a change from boring to BAM! The salon was professional and interesting and bright and from the moment I sat down until I was finished, I was wearing a smile! The instructor was amazing and confident, knowledgeable and dead on, my stylist (s) quirky and confident, engaging and professional. They collectively did an amazing job and the fee was the quoted price, and I felt like a million bucks leaving. I will definitely be there again and again. A hidden secret but right there in full view, thank you for the amazing job you did on my hair and my self esteem. No more boring. Just Bam!!!

Relaxed non-pretentious atmosphere. All the students / apprentices I had cuts done by over the last 2+ years were very considerate, responsive to my needs / requests, and did a good job. Very happy with the results, and easy on the wallet. Apparently the ONLY school for hair design with student service for the public at this point. Try it on!

I just moved from Edmonton and my roots were out of control. My hair is colored a white blonde and quite long so its hard to find people I can trust to color it without it breaking off and without spending $600 dollars. Erin was absolutely fantastic. She is quick, provided excellent results and an absolute sweetheart. My hair is even whiter than it was before and it was so afforable as well. Definitely will be returning!!!

I attended the school in 2020 before Covid hit and paid 7000 dollars for classes, they took two years to re open claimed it was because of Covid when all salons reopened within months and it was actually because they were running without being licensed by ptib and refused to refund me any money still to this day and over 3000 dollars of that money was for my supplies that I never saw again. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. THEY STEAL FROM YOUNG ADULTS WITH NO REMORSE AND ARE CON ARTISTS.

Orane is a wonderful place to learn your trade. If you are thinking of taking professional makeup, skin, beauty and hair courses, i can't recommend a better and affordable school than Orane. Orane is very good at making their students feel comfortable while they learn. The staff are extremely professional and also very attentive and helpful. The studio environment is great with plenty of room and perfect lighting.

I went to the new location on Douglas street today-- very upscale in appearance and everything new. I had my hair cut, colored and styled by Carlie, and she did a fabulous job. I bought two big bottles of shampoo and conditioner as well, and everything, services and product, came to about $83.00. I am extremely pleased with how my hair looks and I consider that I received excellent value for money.

I was a preivous cosmetology student at Richard Mar and absolutely love it! They gave the the opportunity to really excel and learn more than the basics in all areas of cosmetology and the freedom to be more creative and do advanced work. I was able to get a job right out of school and fit right in. I just visited they're new location and it is wonderful, way more spacious and inviting with more room to work and grow into. There is even a seperate spa area! It is amazing to see how far they have come from the beginning when I went there to now and how much they have grown and changed.

It was my first visit and I would go back. It is the first haircut in a very long time that I didn't have to trim up ends that were missed. I am truly amazed. Richard was good about giving me options, advice on colouring my hair (which I do on my own) and accepting feedback on my comfort zone. In the end I let him take 4 inches off and I'm happy with a classic cut that I can redesign if I want to. Ambience is refreshing with students that are interested to learn milling about. It wasn't just a 'cut' it was an event' for me. I truly enjoyed my time there.

I hate about 9 out of 10 hair cuts I get, so I was skeptical about going here but figured for the price why not. I'm pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised and love my hair! Andra actually listened to what I wanted and gave me a cut that worked with my natural waves (usually stylists just expect me to flat iron it everyday, like I have time for that), and she took her time to make sure it was perfect. I highly recommend her!

I am not one to leave a review about a place but this was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon! I went in to ask if this color could be done and the woman booking my appointment assured me it could be done, I booked the appointment.. When i went in we went over the colors again, I noticed it was too light but just thought it was just part of the process, when it was done i mentioned it was to light and it was not what i wanted! she told me next time.... I paid (big mistake) I did not notice the extent of it until I was home and could see it in the light, I was horrified and called in and said this is definitely not the color I wanted! she said it could be fixed so I came in the next day only to find out they would fix it at a cost! The manager made every excuse to not fix it for free! blaming my hair everything but a mistake on their part I left crying! not only was this hair for my weight loss goal but for a family and birthday events the week after, I had to wait a couple days for them to open,I called in asking for a refund for my hair and was told they do not issue refunds!!! never heard of that! I ended up getting it fixed in the end but I will never go back! top 3 pics are what I asked for /bottom 3 is what i got there.... the last pic is the one I got corrected.. quoted 60 for an ombre, what I left with was not an ombre and it came out to 90$ without tip I don't want to blame the hairdresser but the management is completely unprofessional! never again will I go back!
