If you’re thinking of either going back to school, or choosing a program/college to take after high school, I highly recommend Academy of Learning. Duane and the facilitators are absolutely amazing there and if you’re looking for supportive people to help you in your academic journey, I guarantee you they will be there motivating you and rooting for you! The school is very modern and clean, and the programs/courses themselves are a very hands-on way for learning, which helped me immensely. While taking my Business Administration course, I landed a career with the Federal Government! I don’t think I’d be where I am today without this place and the wonderful people running it.

Choosing long-term military service over post-secondary education left me wondering “what’s next?”. I knew that at my age, I would need to be taught in an individualized learning-oriented manner with objective-focused testing, flexibility, and individual help on demand. This tall order would also have to be comfortably wrapped up in an unintimidating environment. I also wanted to move forward quickly, so I looked into AOLCC and its multisensory instructional delivery. Its Integrated Learning System it engaged would put me in the driver’s seat of my very own unique experience. This quickly became a no-brainer, so I just did it! Now, as a successful graduate and employee in the very field that I studied, I cannot help but visit my AOLCC Halifax campus from time to time and know that the life-long endearing memories will always allow my friendship with the facilitators to be a keeper.

Absolute waste of time and money, the courses offered are very heavy on copy and paste and do not prepare you with the skills required to succeed in your field. There are better and much cheaper courses available online. Biggest mistake I have ever made

Took the Business Administration course. A lot of the courses are tailored to teach through tasks which was helpful. The instructors are very nice and offer help when needed. Would definitely recommend to those looking for a quiet and independent way to learn.

As an international student, I took Web Design Diploma Program and I found the program to be very worthwhile and experienced a lot of hands-on experience. This type of program is definitely different from a university level, as it is more geared to help prepare you for the workforce and what to expect in your chosen field of work. This self-taught environment benefits those that need the flexibility to choose their own studying hours and offers the opportunity for students to learn in a less hectic and pressured environment. I took this program simultaneously while taking my Master’s in e-commerce, and found this very helpful because while I was learning a more theory and research based approach in my masters, AOLCC was helping me polish up my overall skills, portfolio, and resume. I found the Halifax campus absolutely amazing and the support I got from Daune and the facilitators were very helpful and motivating, I especially got the one-on-one attention I needed, which was hard to get at a university level. Another benefit I found about AOLCC is that it helps international students understand the Canadian labor force and easily transition into that labor force, as the programs also offers internships.

The courses here are great! I completed the Business Accounting Diploma quite quickly as it is a go at your own pace - self taught learning facility. I even landed a job before graduation! The students here are very respectful of each other's learning and the instructors are very knowledgeable. They genuinely care about your success and will stop at nothing to see you succeed.
