As an alumni i must say i loved my time at Royal roads. Great, knowledgeable professors and format of the program fostered many a long lasting friendships.
Beautiful forest area to walk with family and friends. The pathways are not all smooth there are area’s with roots looping out of the group. Short, long, exploratory or adventure walks. All can be done here, you may even find a painted rock or two. Be aware that wild animals do habitat the area and this is a shared space. Please make sure to educate yourself on local wildlife and how to react, in the slim chance you may encounter them. Happy trails.
Great space for learning. Admin hires many good educators.
The gardens are some of the most beautiful in Victoria. Free admission and so many plants and birds to experience.
A modern university in a stunning location that really understands what a quality blended learning experience entails. The staff and faculty are very service oriented and you can tell they're all committed to a quality learning experience for their students.
OMG i loved everything of this campus , i wish i have a chance to do my Masters in Here!
Just wrapped up the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching 6 day residency and had a fantastic experience. Loved the feel of the campus, Hatley Castle and of course the Beautiful Peacocks. Lots of space to walk and reflect on readings and learnings. Overall a great experience!
Worst university I ever attended. Passive aggressive environment and racially driven climate if your not white- including from some faculty.

(Translated) The university site is very beautiful and charming, cutting on the coast and buildings on the highest mountains and among thick trees (Original) موقع الجامعه جميل جدا وساحر، يقطع على الساحل والمباني على اعلى الجبال وبين الاشجار الكثيفة
Beautiful campus.
Unfortunately my experience with the MBA program was not as I had hoped it would be.

Very nice scenery. What a great life to study here.
Royal Roads has polished the online degree from many years of experience, and many course offerings. If your schedule is tight, you will find their approach flexible. They maintain a high level of academic rigor, which, while you are a student means effort, but as a graduate means respect. Recommended for the busy professional.
Great
(Translated) A very beautiful place, I did not imagine that it was a university, it is incredible and I recommend going. (Original) Un lugar muy hermoso, no me imaginaba que fuera una universidad, está increíble y recomiendo ir.
Beautiful grounds and gardens. Be prepared for closures due to private events.
Royal Roads University is a public university with its main campus in Colwood, British Columbia. It is located on the grounds of the former Royal Roads Military College (RRMC) at Hatley Park National Historic Site on Vancouver Island. Following the decommissioning of RRMC in 1995, the government of British Columbia created Royal Roads University as a public university with an applied and professional degree-granting focus.[1] Royal Roads University maintains strong ties with the Canadian Forces[2] and considers alumni of RRMC to be part of its broader alumni community.
Beautiful setting.
Before you make a choice to attend this school, please do some research, look at the stats and read the reviews, you might find there are better educational institution out there for you. One of the main issues I take with Royal Roads University (RRU) is the faculty. Instead of having professors with PhDs in their respected subject areas, they often use “industry professionals", the issue here is as well as some do in their profession, it does not always translate over to teaching or education skills. In one of my classes, I did not get grades or feedback on any of my assignments. Two weeks after the class had ended, I asked for grades via email and was sent an e-mail stating I got an A, but with no feedback or marked assignments. I paid to learn, not to be handed grades. One instructor would have spelling and grammar errors in her feedback and on her assignment instructions on Moodle. In no way am I perfect in this area, but I expect the instructors to be held to a higher standard. My experience for the on-campus portion of my program was extremely disappointing. The building my cohort was staying in had no heat. They were replacing the boiler, so they had a portable heater put at the end of the hallway, then asked us all to prop our doors open if we wanted heat. Being asked to sleep with your doors open in a dorm felt completely unsafe and everyone got sick by the end of the week. During Covid-19, I hit my mental capacity around the third wave and could not complete a class. RRU would not let me take a withdraw so late in the program so I was forced to take an incomplete, even though if I did not completed the last assignment I still would have had a C-. I understand that established policies are in place, but I feel that during a global pandemic all organization had to extend, adjust and be flexible. Royal Roads University do not show kindness when kindness was needed, they did not demonstrate empathy through-out the pandemic, it is for this reason I am giving them one star and sharing my experience. For the cost of undergrad, grad, and doctoral programs at this school, you deserve better.
The campus is small but the staff is good. There's a nice cafe on campus and then there is Hatley Castle which is a sight to behold.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Went to see Hatley Castle. Its a beautiful campus
Great place to walk around! Even in a pandemic.
Lovely day... Lovely gardens!
I completed the BSc program and almost done the MSc program. I would not recommend the MSc program to anyone.
If your looking for a scenic spot with both views of the ocean and forest your in luck. Not to mention the iconic Hatley castle which is situated on these very grounds. All the gardens and grass fields are presentable to a point of tranquility.
Beautiful, beautiful, and beautiful! Just come!
I can't say much about the university, but the campus is amazing. Beautiful setting. Fun fact: The construction has been used as a backdrop in a few movies including; X-Men, Batman and Arrow.
Make sure you hike down Charlie’s trail (opposite side of the castle from the gardens entrance). It’s amazing in the early spring when the river is a canon.
Did my MBA there in 2011. I loved my experience and now am teaching there. This is the best University on the West Coast.
With diverse and multicultural learning environment, RRU provides an unique study opportunity. It has a great supportive faculty and student services. Beautiful campus location. A great university overall.

Beautiful place to relax walk etc
(Translated) I was very impressed. We were living X-Men movies. It is very beautiful, surrounded by beautiful gardens and with a beach like in stories. (Original) M-a impresionat foarte mult. Trăiam filmele X-Men. Este foarte frumos,înconjurat de grădini superbe si cu o plajă ca-n povești.
An excellent university, unless you want to learn geometry.

Spent just over an hour hiking around the grounds today. It really is a magical place, huge trees, waterfalls, beautiful gardens, a castle. It is a fairytale place. We hiked along the water and over to the new development on the south east side. The trails are well maintained and you can choose your adventure, if you want steep and slopey or flat and meandering. Great place for the dog to get out too. There was way more there to explore, it is a large property on the edge of Esquimalt Lagoon. It has some old growth forest that has been preserved it is kind a hidden gem really. Some of the new building are near to look at too.
The faculty, the curriculum and the castle! All fantastic!
Beautiful campus. If you have a chance take in the tour and listen to the history. The level of coursework and support is amazing. I took the distance program and was really happy with all my time on campus.
Nice
Fantastic super helpful staff, massive resources, lots of space to sit and read, beautiful surroundings including the gardens at RRU and the resident peacock flock.
(Translated) a calm location (Original) un endroit calme
Frustrating, unclear and slow admissions process. Would not recommend.
Great place for a walk with your family.
Heritage site in traditional Lekwungen territory. Hatley Castle=Xavier School For the Gifted (aka Xman castle). Deer and peacocks as traffic cops->they ARE in charge. Also a great school.
I just graduated this year. The teaching quality of the school is only medium, if you want to get high quality study, please choose UVIC. The scenery is superb and I enjoy studying in the library. After the pandemic, my courses went online. I spent my second year studying at home, even though I felt relieved not to have to go to school. But it is a pity that international students pay high tuition fees but actually take our classes at home. The fee we submitted is the cost of in-course, and I think part of the amount should be returned when the course is transferred to online. In fact, we did not receive any subsidy or refund, and had to submit the late tuition fees on time during the pandemic. International students are not eligible for tuition assistance. I also applied to the school for an extension to submit the tuition fee, but the school replied that it refused. So it was very unfair to international students and put a lot of pressure on me. The school's refusal made me feel that the school was just trying to make money without thinking about the students. I am very disappointed with the school and would not recommend it to any of my friends. If you are here as a tourist, you are very welcome. If you choose to study here, SORRY, I do not recommend it.
A lot of important Canadian history here.
Stunning
hope to be there soon.
Supporting staff, stunning campus and amazing learning experience. This young and vibrant university will change your life!!
One of the most beautiful and picturesque places on earth. The academic programs are excellent and delivered with an exceptional level of customer service.
I love this web
Don't put your hard earned money into this institution. It's a waste of time and money. You can do your passion with that amount of money
I have only just begun my RRU journey, and there is no going back. An amazing place for established professionals to continue learning and take brave new steps.
Great programs and staff, they really want you to succeed!
Very quick and comfortable admission process.
Good old buildings with a lagoon view????
It's a stunning campus we amazing gardens... Plus you know.... X-men...

My experience with this school and the Master of Arts in Leadership is nothing short of exceptional. Integrating a progressive, systems approach to this field of study has had a profound effect on my life and the work that I continue to do. I am so grateful for this extraordinary program, and the stunningly beautiful campus.
Beautiful sights, sounds and smells especially in the gardens. security guards wish they were still guarding a real castle though
I have not been a student here but its just a cool castle to come see!
Lovely views. No public facilities. The signs said the castle was closed. I'll have to check the facilities next Sunday.

It's a beautiful university, great views, nice walking terrain, huge grassy area for activities like flying kites!
The castle is amazing and parking lot is very accessible (Can$1,00/hour).
the worst the worst the worst uni that ever I see ....staff ,instructors are without qualification, you do not learn any things in this university you just waste your time,do not attention the beauties in this uni because they do not make your career skills, the materials you learn are so important not place and nature beauties.in this uni no material no instructors are good they behave unprofessional they just waste your time nothing you learn.they do not care for students views they just care their tuition fee and money.YOU JUST NEED WALK IN THIS UNI AND ASK OTHER STUDENTS HOW THEY ARE SATISFIED NO ONE FIND BE SATISFIED. they just there because they wanted to be stay in Canada no for studying or learning they acknowledge this uni is not good at all .PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. even they are not reserve for one star.
This University is a kind of business especially in the section of application fee. They charge 120 cad initially for the application fee and some days after again ask for 120 cad in the name of so called credential evaluation fee. Even many good ranked universities don't charge for credential evaluation, but they charge for this even though their ranking is very poor (around 2500 in the world). They actually do nothing in the so called credential evaluation section because if they really do, they can issue a standardized evaluation report, but they will not give you their credential report-By telling so called credential evaluation, they are just earning fee from the applicants, but doing nothing. If they issue their credential report, you can use this in other cases. I suggest you to go to the WES for credential evaluation report if you really need, because WES will give you a report and they can issue it to any universities as many times as you want. If you see this university's website, you will notice that there is nothing mentioned explicitly about the credential evaluation fee, but later after applying, they will send you an email asking for another fee in the name of credential evaluation, and if u don't give this money, your application won't be reviewed. With this 240 cad, u can apply at least 2 universities-mind it. Application fee from the foreigners is their big income, so please think many times before applying as you will have to pay around 240 cad for the this application process. Their response is also very poor, they took around 5 months to inform my application result. Another thing is that they must give u a pre-master/foundation course even if u meet their admission requirement fully, they will give u excuse that your experience isn't enough or you need more learning bla bla bla... I have seen a person who had 8 years banking experience but they gave him a pre-master course in the excuse that he doesn't have sufficient learning from the experience. This person's visa was refused!! Actually, they just want to earn more money by giving u extended course, and the problem is that u won't get permission to do part-time work during ur pre-master time. Your visa is also at risk if u apply with foundation rather than main course. So, be very very careful before applying to this university.
Beautiful architecture
Beautiful
I don't care about the school but I went to the castle and it was amazing especially since it was in the xmen movies and arrow
The absolute worst University experience I could have had. I feel robbed of my tuition money. I transferred from Ontario and regret it greatly. The Island is beautiful and there are plenty of friends to meet; but if you want value and merit from your education, then I suggest UVIC or Camosun. Graduate programs are apparently okay, but undergraduate business programs are laughable. The campus may be beautiful but the teaching standard is very very low. You will have to deal with professors who have equal business experience to the students. Its hard to be inspired at school when you know that your professor has hardly done any work outside of teaching, there is nothing valuable to gain. The projects and assignments lack purpose and the teaching style is dry, outdated and monotonous. They pride themselves as having a progressive style of teaching that avoids "slide clicking" but that couldn't be more of what they do. Miss a class? that's fine, click through the slide deck in 15 minutes and be fully caught up. The resources were useless; things like team coaching and group work will eat up your time. There is a huge mismatch of talent that caused the groups to suffer from poor performers and piggy backers. Sounds harsh but its the reality. A large portion of the cohort left after 1 year. I stopped doing their projects after while, and left. Beautiful school, it's a shame that they have certain programs that are like this. Thought I'd give my experience as others didn't bother, sorry Royal Roads. Food for thought.

Beautiful scenery, worth the drive for sure.
Royal Roads University has wonderful trails running through a variety of ecosystems. Charlie's Trail is particularly beautiful.
The new president has no respect for due process.
Come to visit most beautiful university in Canada. Castle and gardens are amazing!
One of the youngest Universities, founded in 1995. Continuing education is its area of focus. Many international students study here. One of the most beautiful campuses in Canada. One also gets to see wildlife here.
Beautiful walking and running trails
Beautifull place
The grounds and the castle are excusite. So happy that I study here.
Great place to chill and check out castle
Beautiful storm here tonight. Love to watch nature here.
Good castle than a collage to say
They are not an academic organization. They are a privatized corporate organization that only accepts international students to take their money. They misinform students on the programs and what they are paying for and continue to charge you recklessly, even when they told you that you have paid for the entire year already. The courses are not based in academia whatsoever. This is a fake school. Lacks representation, accessibility, and equity.
It's a beautiful building and surrounding grounds. But our timing was bad since there was very few flowers and also we were limited as to what we could tour because of a wedding.
Beautiful gardens and architecture
Excellent place for an afternoon stroll, and a wonderful free botanical garden.
It was a nice view of the bird sancuatry... Well I was recovering an SUV that went for a dip.
Hey.. Anyone pursuing or an Alumni of MGM degree could please share your experience and if the degree has been valuable??
Disappointing experience. The program coordinator of my program wasn’t so nice to me towards the final stretch of my program when I requested a medical accommodation as someone with a permanent disability. I tried to reach out to a few faculty to help support my application for a masters program and none would do it. I hate to say it but if I was white my experience would have been better so I’m left feeling this university and it’s policies is geared towards white only and minorities are left feeling racism is at play here. I graduated but if I had a choice I would not have attended here. Can you imagine I completed a BA here and none of the professors or faculty are willing to support my applicator a masters program here. There is no reason I never did anything wrong to anyone here. So I’m left feeling this is racial discrimination.
nice place
Such a beautiful building and campus with a gorgeous walking area around it and view of the ocean.
We were there after the garden closed for the day. It was a nice place for a cool evening walk. Not too many people around.
I request to Int. students, please beware of this fraud uni. I paid one yr advance tuition fees with my agent for MGM program. My visa was cancelled. Then, I asked them to send this tuition fees back, as per the rules in offer letter. However, it has been more than 6 months and I got no money from them. They don't give any proper answer when I will get money. No reply in email. I am helpless now. Please suggest what I can do. Don't give them advance tuition fee.
Cool
