Degrees are definitely the only way to get a job in a corporate office working for someone else, but it is unfortunate that Sheridan has either bad hiring practices of professors for their BBA programs or misguided teaching procedures. I am an "A" student and I can tell you that the majority of professors do not teach. An example of this is when you show up to an accounting class they will give you a few problems and say "complete the assigned questions and we will take them up in class". Can anyone see the issue? Students are supposed to teach themselves and complete a ton of work with little to no feedback or guidance (they call it the flipped classroom). In addition, many of the BBA professors are very negative towards students by making them feel bad about themselves which causes students to get lower grades as they begin believing they are incapable. I have had professors tell students "if you don't get this, how can you ever expect to be a manager, instead you would just remain an analyst if you were lucky to be hired by my company". There are too many issues at Sheridan that need to be resolved, all of my friends are telling their friends to consider other schools and are even considering transferring out themselves to actual universities. The general concensus is students learned more in the diploma programs than in the degree programs.

the college might be decent just if i didn't have professors like Hyacinth Campbell who taught me reports and presentations. She posted my mark and when i wanted to ask about my mistakes she started mumbling around, refused to give me an actual reason; So I tried to reach a higher authority to resolve the issue, no one was able to help me. apparently she has a say over the whole college and thats how it works for every-single professor in terms of liability, now I regret Applying to this college in the first place, that is only one issue among the tons of issues that students face in this college. the worst part is that there is no one to report to when you are oppressed by any department.

College may be not that bad but college doesn't accept cash or credit card for fee payment. I mean they ask for 9000$ for one semester from International student and it will be really tough to arrange 9K$ in 3-4 months and credit card could be really helpful to survive.

I have been studying here for 2 years. Mainly interacting with professors. Most of them are cool teachers, spent time on courses preparation, assignment grading, remembering students' name, etc. I had experience that one professor only showed up half an hour for 3-hour-class and skipped 2 classes during 14-class-semester for personal reasons. So, good luck for choosing your professor~

3.5 - my mark. I am currently a student at this college and I can tell that flipped classroom does not go well with some courses - such as Accounting or Math. Flipped classroom - is basically when you do all the work at home and you come to the classes prepared; and you discuss what you have learned. Staff there does not know how to respond to the questions harder than "How are you?". Most of them are basic and know nothing about their job. However, some people might be very helpful. Teachers - are okay. Depends what you choose. You choose courses yourself and you make your own schedule yourself from the very first semester. If you miss the orientation day, you are screwed. You will need to spend countless hours trying to find out what's up with everything. The campus itself located at Mississauga City Center. There is a big mall across the street and also there is a good cinema.

Waste of money, time and energy. I paid 5 times the fees because I am an international student. I studied PGDM in marketing. Whatever they taught us can be learned from YouTube or uDemy for 10$. They don't care about students they care about the money. I broke my laptop yesterday and I have an exam tomorrow. When I asked to borrow laptop they said it'll take 3-7 business days once I am qualified. To whoever is going there to learn, please just invest your $$$$ somewhere else or burn it atleast it'll keep your body warm for sometime.

hard to write the common for the school, is all depends on the professor who did you choose, even tho sometime you don't have the choice. The worst professor that i had once, she actually teach us lesson during the midterm, no body knows how to do it, so she teach us during the midterm exam, after the midterm, our class only have 7 student left, they all dropped. Because we do not know anything for the exam,!!! worst experience. However a lot professor are great!

I've been to the Hazel McCallion Campus many times for room bookings, studying, and filming videos. Nice buildings with plenty of spaces for sitting and studying. They have a book store, a small cafeteria, parking (City of Mississauga paid parking) and security. There are a few lecture halls, plenty of classrooms - I've attended at least one security symposium and financial adviser night classes here and can say its a very functional learning space!

I went to Sheridan Davis Campus and so did my mother this is a beautiful breathtaking building and it's enjoyable to go look at the plant wall and charge my phone while soliciting the library and local businesses. I'm an alumni and it's great that I'd like to do some more continuing education in the future! Go Sheridan! Go Hazel mccallion! Go Hazel mccallion campus.

The courses are poorly designed as the two-hour lecture is not sufficient in any calculation or logical courses. This flipping model turns these amazing courses into a disaster. I got a 78% in the fundamental Corp and understood the materials so well. It is because the teacher was there to explain the materials and 3 hours lecture makes the class more helpful and more applicable to solve problems. However, when i went to Advanced Corp, the new teaching approach (Flip approach, thats what they call) really throws me off. Yes this approach works well with case course but for any math related courses, it is not working well and the school is aware of it. this filliping teaching sucks as it does not encourage students to come to class. Especially with calculation or math related course. Students can read the materials but asking them to comprehend the materials and understand fully before attending class is unrealistic. If the school is still insisting with the stupid flipping approach, it will not make Sheridan a better academic environment. Sheridan is popular for small classes with full attention toward students. However, the BBA programs are making the school less attractive. I have no intention to suggest Sheridan to other people because of this. There is another way to make the flip approach more efficient is to keep the 3 hour lectures in a few programs (accounting and finance to be more specific). We students need to learn and understand the materials, and that's why we need guidance, we need teachers and TA. We don't need someone comes to class and says "TADA here is the project, do it yourself". I am writing this comment strictly for the educational system of the school. I have nothing against the services or the staff because they are great.

They try to utilize the lack of space to the best of their ability, but it's not enough unfortunately. I'm hoping with the new building (that was 6 months delayed) that they make better study areas. Some of the very best teach Finance here. Professors that have actually sat on Boards or currently do, owned their own companies and give you a real life learning educational experience within the classroom. The facility itself is state of the art, and quite appealing to the eye. Tech support are the best in the business but administration staff such as program coordinators, OTR, and transfer departments could use a little help in terms of expanded knowledge within their field among colleges and universities. Food is overpriced for its quality but a lot of other reasonable and convenient options are available nearby due to its location. It's expansion should help correct these flaws for more staff where required and the acceleration to complete the transition from College to University.

The administrative staff are absolutely awful at this campus. They need a customer service training program or something to make them less miserable because after speaking with them I always feel frustrated, angry, or like I’m in a bad mood. I feel like they want to make students feel miserable so that they can feel better about themselves. I’m glad I switched to a two year program because I wouldn’t be able to handle their bs for much longer.

My daughter attended this school. What a waste of money! This school needs to be more supportive to their students especially during times like these. Answering emails would be a good start. Students and some parents are paying good money for education here and you would thing you would have the utmost support and education. This school is a big fail in my mind. This is my third year in Sheridan I’m so sad that we can’t go back to the campus due to COVID19, we used to enjoy the lectures, meeting friends and exploring the creativity of surrounding. The campus is very clean, professors are very cooperative, well educated, experienced, fair with all students and they motivate us to increase our knowledge. I have completed my undergraduate degree and this is my postgraduate degree and I can tell you that the level of education, technology use and professionalism is similar to the university level as the courses are very inclusive, rich , focused and very beneficial. I recommend this campus if u want to get inspired, if you appreciate creativity and you look to be someone different.

Programs at this college are filled with group projects that involve students who are completely incompetent and will drain the humanity out of you. The teachers are too lazy to bother marking students individually, which causes hardworking students to be dragged down by immature ones who shouldn't be in college anyway.

This School is horrible. Plain horrible. DO NOT GO HERE. Firstly most of the proffesors are horrendous. The proffesors have the "dont want to be here" attitude. They never help and are horrible at teaching. And goodluck talking to managment and complaning about there proffs, cuz ur not gonna get anywhere. Me and a couple of my friends have had the same experinces. Now there are some pleasent proffs to chat with, but most of them are just plain bad and should not be teaching. I dont know, where and how they hire these people.

Pretty much just a huge high school with students who don't know social boundaries, and less than average teachers. Not enough study spaces for the amount of students, and i've been in classes that don't even have enough chairs and desk space for students. Save your money and go somewhere else, the only thing this school has going for them is the location.

My favorite campus! Everything is so accessible and the staff has been so helpful. It’s a smaller campus than the other Sheridan colleges but I don’t feel so lost in the crowd because of it. My class sizes aren’t huge and the professors have taken their time to teach us effectively

I can say couple things about this school. Last time I attended this was in 2015-2016. I have no Idea who would enroll in such a school when you have other great colleges like Mohawk, Humber and even Fanshaw college is better than here. Teachers didnt give 2 craps about you if you failed or passed. Classrooms feel like kindergarten(filled with colours) it just doesnt have that studying vibe to it. I literally spent my time at college by going to YMCA coz here the gym is literally 1 small room with 4 dumbells.. regardless of the situation. I screwed up my self. I didnt know if marketing was for me or not. I felt under peer pressure. Felt like I HAD to sign for anything or else I'll be considered a failure since all my friends go to college. But dont think it that way. I lost 4000$ to this school and due to me trying to rush things into my life.

most of the colleges in Canada would provide some 24 hours libraries study rooms or at least the library could close at 12 except Sheridan college my advice to anyone wants to join this college visit the college and don't be defused with their biased tour system

Great school as far as teaching staff goes, few minor issues with some but a majority of my professors have been great. My biggest issue is with the staff in the rights and policies department as well as security within the school. Most of the security constantly harass and profile students within the premises. Staff in the student rights, policies, and procedures are very passive aggressive to say the least when interrogating students in such a unprofessional manner. When meetings occur for allegations with no probable cause it relies on here-say and opinion which is subjective and not conducive to a proper conclusion. Staff tries to overpower and belittle students while subtly sliding threats into conversation, such as the possibility of being kicked out of programs. I think serious restructuring in security and the student rights and procedures departments need to be done. Not that it makes a difference to my credibility but I have a near perfect attendance record in all classes and an above average grade point average. I'm doing my job as a student/consumer. I would like for the school to do their job as an education providing facility, not a harassment facility. This was written by a student using this account without the account owners knowledge.
