Co-op is a joke and the coordinators completely unhelpful. They favor some students while forcing others to take 4-8 months off if you can’t secure a Co-op “they approve” One of the worst colleges for computer programming course The teachers get changed frequently and it seems like most of them doesn't have any teaching experience so you have to learn most of the things online yourself so in the end you are paying the college just so you can learn from google. Georgian for computer studies is a total joke. All they care about is your money and once they have it you don’t matter even a tiny bit to them.

This College only wants money...they are very dishonest! They do everything for you to get in the College and when you need them they disappear and STEAL your money! I changed my intake once because of Coronavirus and had to change it again because the college still didn't have any in-person classes for my program which interfere directly on my chances of getting a visa and I have never been told in any moment that I could only change it once. Now they tell me that it was only allowed one intake change, kept my deposit and don't answer me anymore. So my advice is to not apply for any program at this college because they don't care about their students only about money.

I have attended Georgian for a few different programs and have never had an issue; however, I decided to return after completing the Law Clerk Program to continue my education to become a Paralegal. Unfortunately, this has been a horrible experience. The program is extremely unorganized, and the Coordinators aren't of much help. I was disappointed from the first semester on. I am in shock that the LSO doesn't have more of a grasp on the program. For instance the Accounting course, literally useless. Now how the college handled the COVID-19 situation was extremely disappointing, especially for a student who lives in the rural area of Muskoka who relied on travelling to and from school for the resources. I have no access to reliable internet and I was on my final semester of the Paralegal Program. I am an honor roll student for both my entire law clerk program as well as my two semesters in the paralegal program. Due to the COVID-19 event, I have been unable to attend the virtual classes; however, Georgian provided me with a long distance telephone number that cost me over $400.00 in fees to attend Web-Ex via telephone. I was not reimbursed but provided a local number instead. Well let me tell you how hard it is to follow along and interact in 7 courses, 3 hours long via telephone. It really is a struggle. So after long and hard consideration and talking with my Coordinator I made the decision (an extremely hard one at that as I was so set on my future career) to leave my last semester and continue next summer when things go back to normal. Well I was advised that the LSO only honors 40% of the courses you have completed up until summer semester but I still decided I wasn't being provided the resources to succeed and maintain my Deans List standing. I withdrew from the program and a couple weeks later I am told I must pay my Full Tuition balance. Hmmm, yet I am not attending due to the Covid-19 situation and the college's lack of understanding for students who don't have access to internet to attend Web-Ex meetings and are unable to be included in lectures like the rest of the students. I reached out to the Registrar and they said nope, sorry nothing we can do. I reached out to the Coordinator who said if I had paid the fees she would STRONGLY advocate on my behalf for a refund, I told her I hadn't paid the fees and she said "oh good", at that point never advised me that I would have to pay them regardless. I reached out to the Dean, who said " Program Coordinators do not have a responsibility to advise students of such things". Okay, so it is my bad. The confusion of all of the events that has gone on in these circumstances they couldn't be a bit more on the lenient side. I am A DEANS LIST student, a single mom of two trying to better my life and my future for my children and attended a condensed, hard as heck program and I get nothing out of it because of the colleges lack of consideration for students who have no access to things like the internet. To top it off I also have to pay FULL tuition. Thanks Georgian.

I graduated from here in April 2021, it was a nice experience when the pandemic wasn't a big thing but coming back this fall with things being pretty much all online now it's hard to retain information if you don't have anything in-person. You're really just paying to be taught by a book (if you end up buying them) and PowerPoints because most professors are doing things asynchronously. Props to those professors who actually do teach us via Zoom or Webex though.

ATTENTION! FRAUDS IN THE BUILDING. I got visa refusal and asked for refund - the admission just coming up with new rules and it seems I won't see my money (2500 CAD) ever. So, if you are looking for a college around Toronto, just ignore the existence of this mistake (AKA Georgian College).

I went to the Spa and Esthetics clinic at Georgian College and was treated by Christina Reis. Christina was amazing, she is so caring and professional. I struggle with Melasma and she was so positive and gave me very helpful advice and information. She was also able to abstract a mass in my face that had been diagnosed by a "dermatologist" as a cyst (which clearly it was not). Overall a completely amazing experience, will definitely be following Christina to wherever her business will lead <3 Thank you.

Yes, right place for you if you want your Profs to HATE you because of your nationality or whatever. Some teachers will ask you to "google" answers rather than telling themselves, like man am I really paying international tution that is like 3 times the normal tution to hear this? And yes, my program, Mechanical Engineering Technology is just made to fail you. And guess what, as per profs' thinking, its only INTERNATIONAL students who misconduct in academics. I don't know about other programs much, but for sure this in this program, NO ONE'S GONNA HELP YOU !!

There is no zero star option.. So I gave them one star. Worst experience at this school. Run. If you already paid your tuition try to get it back or just cut your losses. Move to Toronto and go to a REAL school. You only get one chance to pick a school and if you pick Georgian you will regret it, especially if you are going into debt to get an education. I can't stress this enough - measure twice cut once.

The campus infrastructure is awesome and the staff is great. Personally, I had great experience using all the amenities like library and helping centre. The only problem is to look for a co-op which depends on us. Parking lots readily accessible and markets are nearby.

They don’t care about the international students future in immigration status here in Canada as they will go on giving you ‘0’ for your coop term till you don’t get placed in some Company and they don’t even approve Unpaid Co-op which they can’t give in written papers that says something like this. And thanks to they Georgian Connects weblink where students waste their whole semester applying for Jobs and don’t even get one interview. Originally attended Georgian in 2010 for Photography. I found the program was a bore and the Profs made no bones about reminding us that we don’t need a diploma to be a photographer since clients will never ask for one. Felt the program was a waste of money and dropped out. Returned in 2012 for General Business Co-op and graduated. I really liked the program overall. It prepared me for a great career thanks to the co-op jobs and I overall really enjoyed the experience here. Attending Georgian I was a commuter from Bradford. I will say a few things – 1. Commuting makes it hard to make friends. And 2. Got an 8am class and commuting from the South? Good luck getting off the 400 at Duckworth in the morning! It was usually super busy and the drive was extremely dangerous at times. That said I had a great experience here and would recommend Georgian to others.

I love Georgian College. Having attended university previous to this I can say that the small classroom size has allowed me to have an amazing relationship with my teachers, more opportunity to ask questions, and much more hands on experience. It is very organized, not only the staff but also the students are so friendly and welcoming every day. Blackboard is utilized by every teacher efficiently. The school is all connected and easy to navigate. Nothing but great things to say! As for the costs of going to college/university, you're going to have to pay basically the same (college/university respectively), and Georgian gives you the best quality available for what it costs. The gym is also nice with lots of equipment. :)

Georgian College is good. The international centre is shocking, they are both completely different businesses which don't work together. The international centre treat you amazing until you arrive then they aren't interested in helping as you have paid your money to the college. Wouldn't help me get my coop visa when it was the only reason I came to college, only offered to help once a complaint was made to the Business school Dean. When asked for help upon arrival for things like jobs and phone contracts they didn't want to help or even suggest, was left in a position where the lack of help and support promised affected my experience and college work.

Probably the worst first year, considering the fact that it was recommended by so many others. Terrible faculty who do not teach, they waste the students time, and money spent into tuition, especially for others who have had to move away from home for this program. The help from student success was never evident, and overall, I would not recommend this program for anyone who wants to genuinely learn, as they will not accommodate for you. They are money hungry, and will not go "above and beyond" to ensure your success. I hope someone will read this and acknowledge these problems, as there are many more upon this.

Georgian College is a fantastic school. I truly appreciated this opportunity after attending a previous Ontario University. The teachers and staff are incredibly helpful and go above and beyond to make you understand, feel comfortable, and help you succeed. I was there a short 2 years for the automotive program and learned more than I could have in the real world. It is a close-knit community and everyone is friendly. The athletic centre offers fun classes, the library provides more resources than you can imagine, and the TLC provides good food and good times :-) I really miss being in Barrie - Georgian College will definitely leave a positive, lasting impression.

This really is a great school. The faculty are all friendly and helpful, the buildings are well maintained and the support offered is like no other experience I've had at another post-secondary institution. The proximity to Toronto, the Muskoka's and the Kawartha's makes this the ideal location for any student of any age.

This is one star is not a reflection of the teachers or the programs, as they're incredible. This one star goes directly to to Fern Vandam from Georgian's accounting department. I had to temporarily pause my payments when the pandemic hit and given everything going on it lapsed my mind until I got a letter from COLLECTIONS stating that Fern had sent my balance to hit my credit. She did not follow up and or give any notice as to restarting payment, she simply sent it to collections to screw the little guy. SHAME on Fern Vandam for being in a position of power and intentionally hurting students financially during a pandemic. She's a stain on the fine reputation of this institution.

I can't really compare Georgian to other collages because i never attended another college, but i wasn't really impressed. I went back to school later in life, spent half my life saving here in hopes to get out of dead-end unskilled labour jobs. I was an honour student 90% average in Business Accounting Co-op program, graduated in 2016, i haven't even had 1 single phone call for an accounts payable or receivable job. In fact I'm working back at the company i did before i left for Georgian only now I'm a temp making $4.00 less an hour. I tried to apply for an AP opening within that company, but i didn't have "5 years experience" although i did complete a year in an accounting role in my Co-Op i still haven't scored anything remotely close to a finance or office role and its now 2021. The program and teaching was absolutely terrible, teachers always seemed behind or mixed up trying to recycle old lessons and forgetting to update the proper answers to check your homework with. I wasn't impressed! I was expecting a lot better and a lot more professionalism/accuracy among college professors. I can't make decisions for anyone reading this or tell you what is truly right or wrong, but just remember to really ask yourself if you think its worth spending a solid down payment for a house vs. something that will likely not amount to any career opportunities. If you know someone in the industry that you're intending to get into that can provide you a guaranteed job it might be worth going to school. If not i would really urge you to reconsider. I just don't want people making the same mistakes i did. Perhaps apprenticeships or trades are a more promising option to consider.

Stayed at the residence while working at Burl's Creek for the Rolling Stones show. The staff was very helpful. My only complaints are the first room we were given was already occupied and the room key card needed to be reset three times before it would open the door to the room, The phone in my bedroom was non functional, the water pressure was very low and the satellite tv had very limited channels. The room itself was very clean, fresh linen and would highly recommend anyone use this college for shelter while in the area.

College full of scammers. Everyone’s just only care about one thing, Money. They don’t hesitate to know your grades and performance. Never even tries to help you out. One of my worst decision, I have taken in my life to study from this college. Its prospectus shows that it is #1 college in Ontario for Co-op. Everyone knows that it is very difficult to finds Co-ops in Canada. Especially for Computer Courses such as COPR and CSTN etc. And it’s not end there. As there are almost 2 Co-ops in every course which consists of total 8 months and is Mandatory in your program. You have to either find and do a Co-op job or they will extend your program length. If you have too much gaps in your study then its gonna affect your PGWP(Post Graduation Work Permit). If you’re really serious for your secure future and studies I don’t recommend anyone to come to this college. Other colleges such as Humber, Sheridan, Conestoga have shorter length(16 months) of same programs with optional Co-op. You can try them instead.

I personally had a negative experience here. After finishing my Advanced Diploma, none of our professors even bothered to come to our graduation (which was a joke). I wish I could go back and choose not to waste my time/money. A lot of my friends who were international students regretted it as well. Heck, our math teacher didn’t even know how to teach basic trigonometry so we all had to write a letter to the dean :/ Maybe Georgian is right for you, and if it is, cool! But personally I feel they mostly care about your money and treat you like a number. *mic drop*

A college course in Homeopathy? I can't believe I have just read this in the news. There have been several cases in which infants have either become more severely ill or have died due to the gross negligence of parents employing "alternative medicine". There is absolutely zero scientific basis for the effectiveness of homeopathy. Practioners are not only con artists who prey on the ignorant for money but they are also literally worsening the health of others. The reason we have advanced so far as a collective is because of humankinds rigorous dedication to science not only is it a slap in the face to our sole reason for an advancement as species but also to include it is to condone and enable the suffering and death of children and the exploitation of the vulnerable.

After completion of the programme they will take forever to give you the transcripts. Without transcripts one cannot apply for the post graduate work permit making one handicapped to get a full time job. If students are unemployed after graduation the primary reason is the poor administration system at Georgian.

Georgian only cares about your money. There are some good professor but most of them just brag about how many people they fail and they don't bother to try to help you. My python professor (which only teach for about 30-45 mins) said "If you don't understand it go get help elsewhere." I am sorry but I here to learn what I don't know from someone that can teach me professionally, which I paid for. Once they get your tuition money Georgian will drop you like a sack of potatoes.

Before going to any college in Ontario you must understand that they are money first institutions, they don't care about your individuals needs especially if you are international...you have to learn the system and use all resources to succeed...Georgian is no different...they have nice slogans and fancy websites that bring in the numbers but after that you must be ready to fight for what you need or be another victim to the cash cow system...A degree won't guarantee success anywhere so don't believe coming here alone will help you...

My wife is a student here. She is the first in her class, but they did not help about anything including finding an internship. Even if, you are in implied status they do not accept your co op. They do not have qualified stuff and they always make problem for you. Do not come here as an international student. They also charge you for co op term. The Owen Sound College has the loudest library I have ever been in, there are no quiet places to study in this school. The college is just too expensive with an unresponsive staff. Would not recommend anyone going here. I had a course with a coop. I found the coop but had literally 0 help from the college. They just want your money and the office of the registrar is really rude and unresponsive you have to wait for their email like for 2-3 weeks. I had minor restorative work done here. Absolute nightmare, the dentist didn't give me any anesthetic until I was in discomfort. I had no pain in the tooth or sensitivity there until after he did the filling and now it hurts when I chew. I called them back several times after the appointment so that I could see the dentist but all they said was the clinic was closed and they couldn't do anything. They did not offer me a referral or any type of assistance. I went to a dentist and he said the filling was done improperly and will have to remove it. I will never return here for anything. Stay away.

Graduated Electrical Engineering Technology in 2015, most of the teachers were great and wanted to see students succeed and were always very helpful. Parking was a bit of an issue, especially when the closed off part of the parking lot for motorcycle classes. The library could use more computers, it can be very difficult to find one during peak hours. Parking costs were annoying too. But overall I enjoyed the school and I would recommend my program and the school.

Beautiful looking diplomas but why are they 7 inches by 14 inches in size? When looking for a frame, you can't get these off the shelf because of the irregular dimensions.....wait!...I found the frames at Georgian College store starting at $129 to over $200....really? Are we that desperate to make a few bucks? Please go back to 8 1/2 x 11. The standard size of diplomas and what most schools have and where I can buy one on the shelf for $20-$40.

Worst experience. I am student of batch 2021(Jan.-Aug.). To be real. If you are international student and thinking to enrol in Georgian college, I would say it will be a big mistake by you and you will regret this. Let me explain you in brief, I am enrolled in virtual classes, and there is no compulsion to join classes on particular time. However, one of our professor set time of exam at 6:00am and send announcement mail at 5:00 am, just 1 hour before test, while many of students were at job (night shift). Due to which, they were unable to attend test and scored "0", which impacted whole percentage. Not only this, even they do not give response to mails. Whether you send it 10 times or 100 times. This was real worst experience for me and studying in Georgian is just psychological pressure. If you want better future, just say no to Georgian. Do not accept offer only for arrival in Canada, it can put your future in dark.

Care more about your money than seeing you succeed. - Had to drop out back in winter 2014 because I was working 3 jobs just to be able to afford to go here because the financial aid I got was a joke, $400. My one book alone was $1000!! This caused me to fail some classes. Fast forward to 2018- I was told osap and financial aid had changed so I applied for school, I was looking forward to finally bettering my life and getting a career. Unfortunately I quickly realized in 4 years Georgian college still hasn’t changed in the lack of communication they give students. They expect you to just know how to find all the needed information that is scattered between multiple websites. Because of this I made an appointment to get help. I thought it went great and was told I had to wait 4-6 weeks to find out about financial aid, this week is week 6 and I still haven’t heard anything back so I went to Georgian college (walked an hour in -13) just to have my dreams of doing something with my life crushed. They are very money hungry, rude and do not want to help you in any way. Unfortunately since I am not young anymore moving to another city to go to school is not an option. Unless you come from money don’t even bother trying to apply here. Suck a waste of time and got my hopes up for a better life for absolutely nothing! A side note- I am an alumni, graduated summer 2014 with zero help of finding a job and all jobs I applied for told me I did not have proper qualifications that Georgian ensured I did. I have thrown away thousands of dollars to be what? A part time cleaner? Thanks Georgian College.

After four weeks at this school I can honestly say its a great place with a few issues. There is a serious issue with the use of common spaces and the library. I happen to need to use the computers in the library for my program as well as enjoy using the common spaces for actual studying. There are certain groups of students that think these spaces are gathering areas. I cannot describe how many countless occasions that I have had trouble finding a computer in the library, and or a chair, and then I'll walk by a large group of students hogging spinning chairs hoarded around one computer watching Youtube. Upon asking library staff, they say its a common space. I pay 4,000 dollars or more a semester, I think I am entitled to use a PC in the library, for academic purposes. Not to mention common spaces. Just today I was in N building trying to write a paper on my laptop in the study space, and a group of 3 students came in started lounging around and playing loud music. When I asked them to stop, they merely stopped for a few minutes, only to commence playing music minutes later. I'm not telling anyone how to run their lives, obviously common space is "common space" but I think its ridiculous that a library is allowed to operate like that. As for the common areas, thats just utter disrespect if someone asks you to turn down your music. I pay money to go here and use their facilities for their intended purpose. Not a gathering space.

I spend hundreds of dollars to start an application process and submit documents and the admission team did not even follow up and help me with the process. This institution only cares about making money and not about the success of its students. Don't be fooled into believing the opposite is true. I was in the electrical engineering technology program which promised great co-op opportunities. For my first co-op, I ended up working for a company that taught me nothing about electricity and compromised my safety by having me work on barn roofs without fall protection. The program is filled with irrelevant courses which needlessly extends the duration of the program, ultimately costing you more time and money despite bleak work opportunities upon graduation. But don't take my word for it, talk to the graduates yourself.

I am delighted with the faculty and staff as they helped me throughout the year and answered any questions. The International Center has specialists who speak Russian and can help with any problems. You can also get to know students from all over the world and learn about different cultures and traditions. The library is equipped with the latest equipment - there are new computers and printers, books, and a lot of help. Student Success, Writing and Math Centers will help you with any training questions absolutely free. The college offers two hostels to accommodate students, and there is also a homestay practice when a student lives in a host family. The Berry transportation system is well-established and can be reached by bus from anywhere on the map. The only downside is that buses run once every half hour, and on weekends once an hour. In the college food court, where there is a cafe and marketpalce, in which the student can buy food for every taste or to warm his own, brought from home. There are a gym, shops, various help and entertainment centers on site. A huge plus of college is a co-op practice that allows you to work in a real company and gain experience with real projects and clients. Of course, efforts should be made to find a good company, but after college, the student will already have work experience. LOOK ELSE WHERE. If you have an opportunity to go else where, do so! Online learning and even in class has been a horrible experience. Professors not accommodating time, professors that seem like they were hired off the street and have no relevance/ experience to the program or basic computer skills. A few professors care, the rest are just looking for a check! The Co-op program is awful, they post a handful of entry level jobs (some not even relevant to the course) from business that don't care about the staff (I had a work place injury at a Co-op and was interrogated as to why I left by the Co-op department). The interior of the colleges main building are disgusting! Looks like a run down dump with little to no A/C or heating in classrooms! ( Aside from N Building). Online Learning was terrible as some professors were unequipped with the technology or knowledge to properly set up the camera, let alone a structured class. Especially for the class that used heavy programs, running them on your computer while having a video chat going is a terrible, even with a dual monitor set up the course being taught was almost impossible to follow along. Came out of the Architectural Technologist program with an advanced diploma feeling like I've learned absolutely nothing because the course structure is horrible. Waste of 3 years.

Georgian College is not that good. No support is provided by the faculty for the co-op program(internship). They keep saying that we will help you finding co-op once your study is completed but never got any support from anyone. In fact, the co-op coordinator makes life troublesome for students by rejecting the co-ops that student finds due to no reason.

I don't like this school. The teachers are not clear about how they expect students to do the assignments. When it comes to APA format, the teachers do not review their exceptions on how they want the assignment to be formatted. Most of the teachers I have look down on me just because I am a black woman and I was questioned about my previous credentials during my placement...I found that very disrespectful because the teacher did not believe me when I told her that I am a health care aide and she questioned me about my certificate. Totally unprofessional. I mean the school is a nice place but, some of the teachers are horrible....especially if you're not from the area.
