My wife went here. Smaller class sizes and also best tuition rates. Great high quality education

I’ve attended three post secondary institutes in my life. NIC is by far the favourite. At that time there was free parking (Unsure if that’s still the case), the campus was small and clean and the professors were great, except for one. Definitely recommend, the grounds alone make it a beautiful place to learn and even destress on the way to and from class. Central to the entire comox valley really. Wish I could go back.

Great College, especially for the Fine Arts department. With the small class sizes I really get to connect with the instructors and peers. Even though the classes are small, the programs still have fantastic equipment to explore many different fields of art making.

Pretty Me

I had this not so good experience with the college admission. I applied and gave my COPR as proof that I am a resident but Gail was hesitant to admit me because she was looking for my PR card in which i haven't had yet because of the delay of the process from IRCC. She was looking for another proof and I told her that it is the only proof I have because I only downloaded it online from the portal. Then she asked another lady, so they accepted my application but she told me to bring my PR card as proof. I had to call IRCC about it and they told me that my COPR is already a sufficient proof of my status and that the school doesn't need to ask for my PR card. Since I was very worried, I called the admission again and informed them of what IRCC told me to relay to the school. The lady from the admission, who answered the phone, was very aggressive in telling me that my application has no problem whatsoever. I told her I just want to make sure because they were hesitant during my application in the campus but she was belligerent in telling me that they were not hesitant because she was there during my application and that she explained it to me already. My point is, she should not be that aggressive in defending her co-worker. She should understand my situation in which I am very worried. She could've just explain it to me in a nice way but she was talking in a sense that I don't understand her point at all which is not nice. People working in the admission where they talk to new applicants and new students should be nice and understanding and should be very patient so that they will not scare the students and drive them away. I hope the administration will look into this matter seriously. Thank you

Incredible college, particularly for Business studies With the small class sizes, you will get to connect with the instructors and peers. Even though Some instructors from the tourism departments are a negative vibe, particularly one he will make your studies more difficult

I like this place. It's amazing

Nice facilities and some great instructors. However, policy protecting students is outdated and they have some questionable staff members. One of the women in admissions hates her job, hopefully you don't have to deal with her when you go in to ask any simple questions she would be required to answer. Also, get your books online, they follow you around the book store insisting they help you while following you around making you feel like you are going to steal something.

I am in my last year of my BSN program and I am so grateful to have taken my degree in such a beautiful setting, with supportive and highly engaged faculty, a strong student body and friendly/helpful administration. NIC has supported me through bursaries, scholarships and so much encouragement. I am so proud to be an NIC student. SO MUCH LOVE!

I loved my time at NIC! Transferring to a large University with 30-180 people per class really made me value the small class sizes at NIC. Also, the teachers love teaching and it is their primary goal unlike most University professors that also have to focus on research. I wish there are more bachelor degree options instead of students generally having to transfer for their degree.

Amazing College to study

Bullying is absolutely rampant in the Nursing department (even between the instructors) and has been for several years, there's minimal focus on skills development or mentorship there, lab equipment is always running out and there are a lot of pointless make-work projects. Avoid and go to VIU or any other institution (public or private), especially if male. Other departments such as Biology and Math - seem to be higher quality than larger public universities. Library staff are helpful and friendly but pre-Covid noise levels were ridiculously loud and the soundproofing in group study rooms was basically non-existent.
