Here we offer you the reviews of real people like you who are purchasing the services and products of Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site (College) near to the area of Baddeck (Canada).
As of day this firm receives a score of 4.6 over 5 and that rating is based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is basically the best one, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the valuation is very faithful. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to put feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This College is included in the category of Historical landmark.
The museum itself is educational, but it's a lot if reading and anything interactive us disable because of covid I guess, doesn't make much sense. It could be better information was presented in a variety of ways. The view out over baddeck is amazing though
Beautiful displays, really reveals his amazing mind. And a beautiful building and location over Bras d'Or.
Must visit place to know about Bell Genius.! A telephone was just the beginning.!
Wonderful tribute. Very well done. Worth the visit. Spend the day there exploring this remarkable man.
Very nice and knowledgeable place to visit if you near to this. Highly recommended.
Exceeded our expectations. What a wonderful museum. We really had no idea about the other ventures that AGB was involved in. This is a wonderful tribute from Canada to AGB and his wife's memories.
An incredibly interesting museum. Bell was an incredible inventor. A lot of reading with a lot of exhibits, well worth the time while stopping over in Baddeck.
Very interesing museum. A lot of the important and less important inventions are displayed alongside a timeline. I think it is very educating and there is a lot to do for the kids. I can recommend everyone to go to this museum if you like history!
A must stop for your East Coast vacation. Very informative.
More than just the telephone!
Great exhibits! So much to learn about a much learned man, his family, and their lives. Air, water, light, sound, and electricity... Amazing!
Nice view and informative. Worth the stop if you're passing by but I wouldn't go out of my way just to see it
Stayed most of the day. Experiments were fun!
It's worth seeing this museum. All my physics that I studied came alive. I really appreciate Graham's prophetic vision that's based on science. Few examples as below. The day will come when the man at the telephone will be able to see the distant person to whom he is speaking. He predicted in 1907 that it would not be long until “a man can take dinner in New York and breakfast the next morning in Liverpool.”
Great museum, loads of history on everything Alexander Graham Bell. What an amazing inventor with an imagination and never ending will to experiment and learn. Glad we visited! Baddeck is a beautiful area . Don't miss driving along the lake, it's gorgeous!
Interesting museum and helpful staff.
Incredible place to learn about the brilliant ideas and inventions of Alexander Graham Bell.
What did Alexander Graham Bell NOT invent? This was one amazing human being. Less than $20 CAD to enter; tours and shows are extra.
Should be free of charge
This is a wonderful view into the life and accomplishments of Alexander Graham Bell in Badeck, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. There are full scale models and live presentations. The reason I am not giving a 5 star rating is due to the VR multimedia system being unavailable due to "staff shortages" even though three guides were observed chatting about their personal lives for a quarter of an hour!
Very interesting. Learned so much about AGB. Not great for young children as it would be a bit boring for them.
Beautiful facility, well-planned, extremely informative
Well done, great displays, beautiful grounds and view
Tells so much more of the story beyond the telephone
Wow such a hidden treasure and remarkable history
We were travelling through on a family vacation and stopped by to see what kind of place it was. We thought it would be a quick stop and we ended up spending a couple of hours here! This place is just AMAZING! The kids really enjoyed it and they have so many things to see and do!! You won't be disappointed!!
A very interesting experience, lots to look at. I recommend the white glove tour if you have the time.
Awesome museum. One of my favorites.
Lots of artifacts to look at and stuff for the kids to do too!
Very informative, lots to learn and see. Highly try.
Loved reading all about Graham Bell and his various invention s and experiments other than the telephone. Great experience for the kids. It is located at a very nice spot in the Cape Breton area, right across Bras'O Dor lake and very near to all the popular restraunts in the Badeck area.
Had a wonderful visit here. Used our park pass so was excellent. It is unfortunate that they are charging extra $$ for other features such as 360 experience . It just feels a bit like a money grab.
It was nice how much was displayed of the technical work that Bell did on inventions and creations.
This is one of my favourite museums I wanted to read it all. It's very educational and a great thing to check out in Baddeck! I could spend all day reading!
Loved this place. It holds the story of an incredible inventor, and is also a love story. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, but his intellect traveled farther than that. His ingenuity covered aircraft, watercraft, freshwater …
It's a very affordable museum that can keep you entertained for a couple hours. There are upgraded experiences you can do for additional costs, but those aren't needed to learn about Alexander Graham Bell. There's also an interactive kids experimentation area, which keeps those younger ones entertained in a place with a lot of reading to do. It does feature a lot about Baddeck, so that feels a little too touristy for my liking but easily avoided.
Beautiful little museum full of artifacts and history. Local town is picturesque. Overall an interesting stop.
Very interesting story about the first phone calls.
This place.... it shows the pipeline for a lot of our technology. Including proof of concepts developed before the 1900's and released fairly recently. What's most surprising is that everything there has a current iteration in use... it makes you wonder if all the items still held back from the public just haven't made it out of the pipeline yet.
Well made and surprisingly spacious museum. This is a great stop before starting the Cabot Trail drive to learn some things.
Nice exhibits. Kids will have fun and learn too.
Take a walk back in time at this awesome and very informative museum! A very well later out facility that showcases the many great contributions that Alexander Graham Bell made to the world during his lifetime.
I was not prepared for the quality of this unexpected stop. I had no idea how broad AGB's interests were. Well worth the visit!
Neat museum, liked the atmosphere and the vr.
Fascinating man, never realised that he did more than invent the telephone.
Awe inspiring story of admirable man who did far more than invent a telephone. unmissable.
Nice place to enjoy the scenery and learn!
Awesome place. Bell was a pioneer!
Very comprehensive and detailed collection with presentations, movies and nice gift shop.
This as museums go, is one of the most awesome I have ever been to. They even have kites available for you to take outside and fly on the big hill nearby. There is a scavenger hunt that even my slightly jaded 12 year old loved. Lots of …
An amazing place for the whole family to learn and spend a great day together! A must see- especially on a rainy day! Definitely sign up for the kite making workshop!!
Great museum. Beautiful place.
Learned a lot about Mr. Bell that I didn't know. Highly recommend!
Honestly, it was closed when we rolled in. The grounds are really well kept, there were things to see as we took a walk around. Best of all there was a set of Tesla donated charging stations that gave us a bit of a boost before heading south and away from Beautiful and historic Cape Breton.
Very interesting museum on a very pretty site. I would have liked to see more telephony related exhibits but I found the aviation section interesting. Worth the trip for sure.
A very thorough tribute to Alexander Graham Bell in a town where he spent much of his life. Many, many original artifacts and a spectacular flight worthy recreation of the Silver Dart. There's a lot more to Bell than just the telephone and this museum shows it all. A new VR Hydrofoil exhibit is in place for an extra fee and I quite enjoyed it.
Nice location and lots of staff. On the down side, it's not nearly as grand as I remember it. This is a visitor centre and museum, but doesn't give you access to the house. The museum is showing its age and is noticibly "old style". Nice place for a picnic and admission is reasonable, so definitely a worthy stop.
Spent a few hours with our kids. It's amazing how much we learned about AG Bell.
Very interesting piece of history - learnt a lot that I didn’t know! Beautiful setting, interesting artifacts. Did not take too long for us to complete our time in the museum - maybe an hour. Most interesting for those keen on inventions, telephones and flight.
It's a good place to get to know the history of telephone and story of Graham bell. Due to covid not everything is open .
Very informative. Didn't realize AGB and his family was so innovative throughout their lives!
Will take about 1.5 hours to complete. More reading than exhibits.
Loved it. Outside the museum is also very beautiful. Also Baddeck warefront is within walking distance from the museum.
Really informative exhibits. Well done kids activities to keep them entertained while the adults enjoyed the sights.
Glad we stopped at this history rich museum. Rich with details of the life and times of AGB including how influential his wife Mabel was to him. Loved the full sized model of the Silver Dart hanging from the ceiling, though not the best placement for good photos.
Well organized exhibits and knowledgeable staff. If you want to know more about the times, life and genius of AGB, this is the museum to visit.
Amazing exhibit showing some of Nova Scotia's best contributions to science.
Had a great time touring through here with my 13 year old. The property is well maintained and full of interactive exhibits including hydroplane racing virtual reality. They offer plenty of parking, clean washrooms and activities for smaller children. It’s a must see if you’re visiting Cape Breton.
The museum was so Enlighting
Lots of good content! Mostly reading, but also done great recreations and models, and a virtual reality game in which you pilot the hydrofoil.
Who knew AG Bell was responsible for more that just the telephone?! Great little museum crammed with artifacts and lots of interesting facts about Dr. Bell AND his formidable and wonderful wife. Well worth the time to learn about their contributions.
Great!
Really cool museum! Loved the vr especially.
I love this museum. I can go back many times and learn more every visit
My son likes everything to do with science. Could not have missed out on our way back from Cape Breton.
It was a good knowledgeable experience. If you would like to read and collect facts you can spend couple of hours easily. Staff were nice and friendly. Demonstration is good too.
Surprisingly interesting and educational museum! The man was multi faceted and the museum showcases how he changed the world.
Did think this would be an exciting museum, but I was VERY wrong. A lot of information presented in an interesting way. Lots for kids of all ages Beautiful building and grounds. Go fly a kite!
good experience, loved the free EV charger
Museum explaining the life and inventions of Alexander Graham Bell, close to his house on Cape Breton Island. The replica of his Silver Dart is great. There are what are left of his real hydrofoil.
Great tour and really nice facilities
A nice museum about Alexander Graham Bell and his experiments with flight in the Baddeck area.
A Beautiful place to see Atlantic Ocean, good for boating, recreation.
What an awesome place! Enjoyed our time there. Very well done museum.
Must visit place. So much about Graham Bell is unknown until we visited this place
Very detailed with lots of history and exhibits. Allocate 1-2 hours to take in everything. Both young and old will enjoy.
Very interesting, a lot to read
Enjoyed our visit, overwhelming history well displayed
Worth a visit to see how a great mind worked!
Must see museum, Baddeck is also a very nice place to visit.
Great exhibits for young and old! Our whole family really enjoyed it. The kids were giving kites that provided hours of further entertainment back at the cottage
Very interesting and moving exhibits about a very talented man. The grounds are beautiful with a stunning view of the lighthouse. They offer kite rentals too.
What an interesting man Alexander Graham Bell was! We had no idea until visiting this museum. Only 4 stars because there were other exhibits/ activities that were additional over the entrance fee. We were first timers and weren't told about these extra exhibits and fees when we walked in, even though we told them we had never been to the museum.
It's ok. The hydrofoil was pretty neat. There is some good info here, but nothing great. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
Extensive exhibit with lots of information about the development of the telephone and Bell's keen interest in teaching for the hearing impaired. We participated in the guided Sit&See and were disappointed. We were expecting a guided tour of the museum or a good audio-visual presentation but instead it was a PowerPoint description of the different sections of the museum (including cafe and gift shop). Surprising that this is what is being offered as their paid guided tour.
Silver Dart is the main attraction. A must visit for Canadian Aviation enthusiasts.
What a lovely museum and something for everyone. I learned so much and my kids loved the hands on experience. There is also a nice snack bar and gift shop!
Could have more info such as how phones have changed over the years e.g. the last old phone was 1910. I used one on the fifties that was not represented
We loved this museum-I didn’t know that he had moved here to live sustainably on the land and that he was calling for the reduction of fossil fuels waaay back then. Beautiful spot.
Historic place, lot to learn, nice museum.
Good Place to Spend for 1-2 hrs. A Small Museum that commemorates the genius and compassion of renowned inventor Alexander Graham Bell.
Learned alot of stuff about Alexander Graham Bell that I never knew, well worth a trip
It is amazing just how much Alexander Graham Bell did in his lifetime. The museum seems small on the outside but is packed with information and details of this great man's life. Including hundreds of artifacts and items, most of which he invented. It REALLY needs at LEAST half a day to walk through and maybe a whole day to really enjoy. Good for families with older children.
The Alexander Graham Bell Museum is always a joy to visit - the staff is well informed, friendly, and I always learn something new about Mr. Bell. The museum itself is spacious and striking, with lots of nooks and crannies for you to explore.
Super interesting and educational, very well presented, and a gorgeous setting. We were there for almost 3 hours and could have stayed longer if we’d had time, flying kites and enjoying the locale.
Learned a lot. Beautiful location overlooking the lake.
Loved it!! It was amazing to see the whole history behind Alexander Graham Bell and all the replicas of this creations!
An enjoyable visit the museum, sadly the VR wasn't working when I was there, would have been good to try. Museum could do with more interactive visits, but otherwise worth a visit.
Very nice presentation of all the information about him which I was not aware of except aviation and communications. Graham Bell was so much more! Very nice location, building and surroundings. Plenty of spots to relax and enjoy the views to the lake. Great staff too.
Lots of physical exhibits. Fully bilingual. Very kid-friendly.
Not my favorite national park, but still interesting. Can be visited in less than 2 hours. Nice little kids area, and the exhibits are few, but interesting.
Excellent Park Canada historic site. A must see when visiting Cape Breton.
Figure a couple hours. Lots of original artifacts.
Great informative experience at Alexander Graham Bell.
A place to learn about Alexander Graham Bell, Mr. Watson, and his friendship with Helen Keller! Amazing place. Great technology.
What all museums should be.
Well organized and informative as per the life and career of AGB.
Wow, this is a great museum. I knew that Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, but now I know about his interest in teaching deaf people to speak, and his many hobby inventions.
Lots of great history to read about here. Learned quite a bit. Enjoyed my stay.
Nice surprise on the way to Halifax! So much information packed into this wonderful museum. Everything was presented excellently.
Excellent historic site. I never realized that Alexander Graham Bell did so many things. A MUST see.
I knew that the man was talented but didn't appreciate his role in flight and developing the hydrofoil. A wonderful museum in a beautiful place.
It's a minimal amount to get in, staff are very informative, and the grounds are beautifully kept.
We all know he was inventor of the device which carries voice along electronic signals, but there's a lot more that he and his wife has also made contributions.
Well worth the stop. AGB was into way more than the telephone. Some great artifacts. You can spend many hours here reading about everything he did. We kept a 7 & 9 year old busy for 2 hours.
This honestly was incredible, waaaay better than I could have imagined. To all of the curators, staff, video team, designers, architects, historians, literally anyone that works there: thank you, and job well done. Such a meaningful visit on a beautiful location with an amazing story, there's really nothing better. It was the highlight of my trip by far, and honestly if I had known how much I would enjoy this museum I probably would have driven the 10 hours I did just for that alone! This. Is. A. Must. See.
It takes an effort to get here, but you are welcome with history about Bell that i haven't read elsewhere.
Great museum for young kids as well as adults. They pretty thorough route inside the museum to walk around and essentially learn the life that Mr. Bell had taken. They have interesting scavenger hunts and original exhibits of Mr. Bell. Also had displays of airplane models and engines.
Very informative and something for all ages.
Excellent presentation of Bell's life and work together with a review of the Bras dor Lake. Interesting to see his works. I particularly liked the full sized airplane.
A nice museum that's not overwhelming and demonstrates Bell's passion and humility. It also shows recognition for the influences in his life, especially his wife Mabel. A true humanitarian and visionary. Baddeck is beautiful and you can see why they chose it as their place to settle. What a life.
One of Baddeck's many gems. Well worth the visit.
So much interesting information about this great man and family, as well as his associates and other historical figures and events of the time.
Loved it!! White Glove Tour made the event special. Learned a lot about Mr. And Mrs. Bell and their extraordinary lives.
Great bell
This was a fascinating museum. I learned a lot about Alexander Graham Bell! I didn't realize he was involved with so much. The whole museum takes about an hour to an hour and a half to go through reading all of the placards. There is a gift shop on site, and a place to buy coffee, tea, or cold drinks.
Very interesting exhibits
Awesome attraction to visit. Very informative
Awesome place and awesome views. Museum was a great place. Lots of history and amazing displays. Lots of unknown Canadian history explained.
The employees were very enthusiastic and really had an interest for Bell's contributions.
We loved it here. So much to look at and we learned so much about Bell that we didn't know.
You can learn the history of inventions
Great facility but with COVID half of the museum is shut down. At least you get to see the Silver Dart.
Very well done, lots of interactive exhibits for both the adults and kids.
Worth checking if you like museums and reading and such. Also the view from there even if you don't go in is worth it.
It's interesting but very scattered and somewhat disorganised. Kids will be bored here as most of the museum involves reading with little effort to keep visitors interested. There is a lot to learn but this place poorly executes a learning experience.
Great lil spot. Very informative and engaging. Fascinating history.
Great place to learn interesting stuff about a great scientist. He did far more than the telephone. Must see.
I've always heard about gentleman while growing up in school. Finally got to go to the park and the museum and definitely enjoyed the place. Lots of amazing history, nice little gift shop and also a little cafe too. Definitely have to check out if your not from the area
Quite a rich presentation of a most interesting inventor.
Wonderful area to walk and learn. Great staff.
He did way more than the phone! Very nice displays and you'll learn a lot!
Got in 30 mins before closing and Admission was free. Although I had to rush through the exhibit. Will take more time next time.
Nice to learn that Mr. Bell also did experiments on the HD5 and HD6 with his assistant and not only with the telephone as he is known as.
Excellent information. Small so plan for an hour.
Very nice place, very informative, lot of knowledge, good for kids exploizer.
Learned alot about gram bell while visiting the museum. Will return in the future
worth to visit if you like to know the history of the place
Great history lesson.
I haven't visited this place since I was a kid, such an interesting place, the Bells were amazing people. A great family outing, lots to do with children.
The museum is very will put together and very interesting. We spent nearly two hours there but you could easily spend longer!
An ultimate place to learn about Bell's lifestyle, discoveries and contribution for the country.
Didn't expect such a huge museum. I knew he invented the Telephone but there are pot more than that. Kites, HD4 , experimental breeding and genetics, talking glove for deaf people are some of the interesting things worth spending time with adults and kids. Museum is very well laid off. Landscape is beutiful overlooking the water front.
An interesting place if you into history. Because of the COVID, the interactive parts of the museum have been suspended.
Wonderful. Also the scavenger hunt made it for the kids.
I love the sense if inspiration you get from the innovations of early egineers.
Wow. What an eye opener. This man and family were very busy. This historical site has so much information available. Lots to see and read. A definite check it out!
so many details and artifacts! the room with his aircraft and watercraft is awesome. don't forget to read up on his sheep genetic experiments...
If you are doing the Cabot Trail it is well worth spending at least an hour here, very informative.
Very inspirational museum! Loved the exhibits on his family life.
I went there decades ago but I still remember it, it's a great museum.
Great venue to learn about an amazing person.
Really interesting place to explore. He lived a fascinating life and this museum really highlights all of his accomplishment, along with highlighting the beauty of the surrounding area.
I loved going here. The views alone were outstanding. I learned so much from reading about the Bells. Thank you for this eye-opening museum. I never knew the many inventions we're developed in this area.
Lots of history you never knew.
Everyone told me to go here. Lots of interesting things but I think the exciting part of the museum must have been closed.
Great visit- well set up for children
Remarkably educational institution about an amazing and interesting figure, in a remarkably beautiful setting. Utterly worth the trip.
Lots here for everyone. Really well designed experiences for kids and lots to learn and see about the many impressive talents of Bell.
Beautiful spot. Well set up museum.
Learned a lot about all of his different inventions, interests and life. Well done. Was hoping for a bit more hands on experimentation but still very interesting.
Very interesting and informative. This man's legacy and contributions to our daily life are well presentated.
Learning about this legend of science and technology was a great way to spend a rainy day in the area. Not a huge collection of exhibits but it is a good way to spend about an hour or so.
Very nice... Lots of information.
Good to see the history with iconic intelligent models who helped human a big time! Detailed descriptions of him and his family plus little cute room of his belongings.
Wet fall day, no crowd, easily viewed all that interested me. Found out there is more to Mister Bell than I could have imagined. Spectacular story in a spectacular place. Much to spark the imagination here!
Very good history on the things he invented.
Very interesting exhibits!
Ok, nothing very exciting considering the wonderful subject they cover. Lots of reading signs, not much to see. Could use a modernization. Is rather small and doesn't take long to visit. Biggest gripe is the awfull French translation everywhere full of mistakes and typos. I was expecting better from a government that promotes bilingualism.
A well done museum on a beautiful spot overlooking the water. We learned a lot. Bell seemed to be the definition of an "inventor" contributing more than to the telephone. Staff were great.
Great history and a unique and wonderful man
Educational and fun! Learned lots that we didn't know about AGB before. Kids loved virtual reality. Movie clips were nice. Wish we caught tour.
Worth a stop, very informative. They should do something about controlling the echo and sound. Poor design. Too bad you can't tour the home.
He was in so many more things than the telephone !!!
I love the place, but I was hope to see more things about telephone not only airplane.
There are several little known facts about Alexander Graham Bell, you could find here. It is just a museum and some displays along with a lot of information. If you are a research student you probably need whole day, with small kids they will finish it in 1 hour, an enthusiastic kid will go beyond couple of hours ????. All in all it was an afternoon activity for us. The view from this location is also stunning.
A must stop across Cape Breton! Learn how much modern living really came from this man's mind! Creator of the telephone, and one of the few that were so close to first flight. You've got to stop and visit this place.
Good information, more of an 'interpretive walk' than anything else though. Some interesting facts, pictures and relics.
Ruby's rock #307 at Alexander Graham Bell in Baddeck.
Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site is a museum dedicated to the inventions of the man who lived in Baddeck. There is a lot of information available for kids and adults alike. The museum is surrounded by beautiful terraces on a hill that overlook the charming town and its large harbour. The gift shop has quite a few interesting items such as commemorative coins. Visiting this place takes a little bit less than an hour.
Great museum, was super cool to see
I took a 100 photographs of the exhibits. He was into many thing that you would not normally associate with him, like hydra boats and Blimp improvements. Just the sheer mass of interest was very impressive, he appears to be very driven to explore new technologies from sheep raising to flying.
Extremely Informative and Well Done
So many cool things to learn and to see for sure!
Life story of A.G. Bell in a nice museum.
Super cool. Beautiful gardens.
Short visit on a scheduled tour Never realized all that Bell and is wife did Well done
This place is great! Way bigger and better than I expected. There are tons of activities available here for kids.
Amazing detailed tour and history in a glorious spot!
Good historical collection. Loved it
If you love electronics and how a brilliant mind fashioned some, you'll love this place.
Great museum covering a lot of less known research topics Bell took on throughout his life. Beautiful collection of artifacts. Walking distance from historic picturesque Baddeck.
Great place with historical information about a great inventor scientist. Lots of activities for school kids.
Fascinating how many things Mr. Bell was involved in!
Must see if on Breton Cape. Very well laid out museum with lots of original artifacts from A Bells inventions and interests.
Great place!!! Very interesting and educational!
Was surprised about how little about the telephone it touched. But at the same time i was surprise how much he did with aviation and boats
Very informative. You can walk into town from the museum and shop. Beautiful views
Excellent presentation of the local and overall history of a world changing intellectual figure.
Great museum. I liked that there was interaction for kids. Didn't realize he was into so many things.
Everything you could possibly need to know about the man! Lots of cool displays. Great for younger kids and more mature audiences, but a little tough to keep tweens and teens interested.
Nice and informative, especially great if you have young children!
If you are interested in the life and accomplishments of A. G. Bell then you must visit this place
What a gem!! So many things to learn here. Incredible how many inventions came from Alexander Graham Bell.
Informative displays about a very interesting man, his wife, and his family. The staff were friendly. I had injured myself and was able to navigate the displays via a wheelchair they had available without too much difficulty. Worth a visit.
A well done museum worth a visit and careful reading. Answers the many questions such as: who really invented the telephone, what did Bell consider his greatest invention, who was the woman behind Bell’s success. The museum could benefit from knowledgeable docents, however. The replica of the silver dart is worth the price of admission alone. At the time of writing it was under $8 CDN.
Great staff. Was hoping for more info about the telephone, but was really hydrophoil focused.
We visited this museum on our way to cape Breton from Halifax. This museum really showcase the intelligence, wisdom and innovation that Graham Bell brought into this world. It’s places at a very nice town.
Excellently laid out museum. Handicapped accessible. Middle school aged children will enjoy this museum as well. Many areas to sit and watch a video about the aspect of the section of the museum you're visiting.
Great place to see, but a little disappointed by the content.
Amazing facility. Great information about one of the great inventors. Learned so much and I loved the hydrofoil boats.
I Enjoyed this place so much! What a eye opener to a very Historic Figure and his Wife and the things they did for so many people! Allow a couple hours for sure. Thank you to his descendants for sharing so much history!
Most interesting and worth a visit if in the neighbourhood.
Great
A must see when visiting Cape Breton. Beautiful facility that provides a full history of Mr. Bell's inventions along with many others.
A trip back in time. Bell was a very smart man.
Brilliant museum! Very detailed and interesting exhibits. Good for all ages.
I never knew what an amazing scientist Bell was. This museum is so well planned and interesting. A must go location.
No dogs allowed so we passed.
Nice museum! Learned quite a bit
Very informative and we'll spoken presenters
A beautiful museum hidden away in a small town called Baddeck in Nova Scotia. A very nice place to just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We really enjoyed it. A must see place.
Good stop for your picnic lunch. Washrooms are clean and right near front gate
I loved the experience and the quality of learning about Alexander Graham bell and the telephone
Great spot. They even have kites to fly.
A gem in the middle of nowhere. The "White glove behind the scenes " tour is a well worth it.
Great place to visit I enjoyed the artifacts on display. I was impressed with the history of Bell and his inventions
Growing up in Canada I knew that Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. But what I didn't know was all the other amazing things he had done. It was clear he had an amazing mindset and was always trying to learn new things and make new things. Definitely a lot of information and inspiration here to see and hear about.
Great look into the history of Canadian technology. Obscure museum in the heart of the east coast.
Wonderful place of Canadian history. Lots of information. Also having the tesla charging station is a perfect hangout for ev car owners.
I am so amazed by the work this man did. He was truly ahead of his time. The site does a clear and thorough job of presenting the many facets of Bell's work. We liked having the Explorer booklets for the kids to complete but it was geared a bit more toward an older child. I wish I had more time!
Alexander Graham Bell is so much more then the guy who invented the telephone. He is fascinating. We spent 2 hours here learning about him and his fellow inventors. His wife was amazing as well. Well worth the time if you like this kind of history. Baddeck is a cute little town.
I learned much here. Beautiful view.
Learned so much about a brilliant man. Makes Bradenton a must stop.
Historic site with lots of historic artifacts. Make sure you have atleast 3 hours to explore all the displays and to read history behind each of them. Museum is located at one of the best locations in Canada. A must visit place if you are visiting Cape Breton.
Astonishing place! Must visit for anyone staying at or passing by Baddeck. Most of the museum is underground and displays rich history of the extraordinary life and achievements of Alexander Graham Bell. My 6 and 4 year old kids loved the science experiments, workshops and displays.
Loved this historical site. Worth a vist to if you are in the area. I learnt a lot that day!
Lots of staff, friendly enough but unclear on their purpose other than seeming like security which is awkward. Nice exhibits. More interactive would be better. Simulators were roped off out-of-use right now. Auditoriums were not running. Gift shop was cute, prices not out-of-this-world. Admission should really be discounted when the place isn't all open. Booklets for the kids to interact more though.
Very cool
I never knew how much of an inventor that Bell was. A lot more to credit him for than just the telephone
Great place to learn about Bell. Lovely location. Easy to find.
fortnut
Something for every age group - very well done with a lot of photos, models, interesting details from that time, one can learn a lot. It's also not huge, I would think 2 hours should be enough to enjoy it, surrounding park offers nice views, free parking.
Prepare to be blown away by AGB! You'll learn things you never know about he and his dads' genius.
Pretty cool place. There's a lot more to Bell than I knew and this place does a great job of showcasing it all. The silver dart exhibit is pretty impressive .
What an interesting man! This site provides insight to an amazing individual and family man.
Informative and entertaining! Great activities for kids and excellent exhibits for adults.
I've been there some 30 years ago and wanted to show my kids. The entire family loved it.
Great info about Bell and we'll presented. There are activities for kids as well including kite building and kite flying.
It was ok...The statue of Mr Bell and his wife downtown should be at the museum
The only thing I knew about Alec Bell before I entered the museum was that he was the inventor of the telephone! Boy did I know very little about him before today! I cannot believe how philanthropic and inventive he was as an individual. I was also very amazed that he worked with Helen Keller as I had never heard of that! I was very impressed with the various photos, quotes, artifacts, and plans which were present in the museum. I loved the experience and because of it I am inspired to further study the world around me just as A. Graham and his family did for so many years.
Kids liked it. Advise going around build your own kite times of day, we caught that at 3:30 and it costs extra. The large display room was pretty impressive but the kids found it a lot of reading to find out about things in the small display areas. The gift shop had some cool little things and the cafe on site was ok. Lots of staff buzzing around to ask questions.
Fun, cool exhibits. It shows off a lot of his cool inventions. I learned so much about Alexander Graham bell, that I didnt know!! He invented sooo many cool inventions!! I would recommend this museum.
Well Done! Very Informative! Unforgettable white glove behind the scenes experience.
For me Alexander Graham Bell has been the inventor of the telephone. But to my surprise he was much more and this museum does a great job at showing us this other part of his career. He was truly an amazing person.
Nice modern building with staff who knew what they were talking about and were happy to guide you. There was a lot of reading to do, but it was set out well and in a chronological order. There were some nice big reconstructions of some of the inventions that he made, as well as quite a lot of small original inventions, photographs etc. There were a number of interactive films and videos to watch as well. You definitely need to spend a couple of hours here. It has all the usual facilities, but having arrived at lunch time, I was disappointed at what their cafe had to offer. Basically it was something to drink with a piece of cake. Nothing more substantial than that. Based on the number of people there at that time, I’m sure they could have done a better job of creating a better eating experience.
Very interesting, however not very interactive. You'll spend most of your time reading.
Great place for kids. Terrific history.
Learned a lot about AGB that I was completely unaware of. Working with the deaf and his hydrofoil work were impressive. …
This museum is a very interesting place to visit. The displays are well laid out and I found them very interesting. The write ups offered lots of information on Alexander Graham Bell's life. A must visit!
Informative displays and eye opening exhibits. Silver Dart and Hydrofoil displays are must see.
Amazing history linking Scotland and North America, love Story of 2 beautiful people who put Baddeck on the world map. Worth visiting if you are in the area of Nova Scotia.
Learned a lot about Alexander Graham Bell that I didn't know before
Very enlightening as to the broadness of Alexander and Mabel Bell's lives. Well worth visiting.
Very interesting museum. Friendly staff. Well recommended.
A wealth of information about a remarkable individual and his life. Very well organized and laid out. Need at least three hours to do it justice!!
A lovely little museum in a pristine town of Baddeck. A little hiddem gem that offers a fair amount of excitement and knowledge for a young family.
Great little museum showing unique artifacts from all facets of Bell's life. Neat full sized replicas of the Silver dart and a hydroplane boat
Fascinating and interactive exhibit of inventions, models and prototypes from the inventor of the telephone. My 4.5year old son had a great time.
This was great learning experience in a beautiful setting. I am throughly impressed at how wheelchair friendly this museum is. A must see in the region!
So much potential is lost if you don't take a tour. Facility is confusing in layout and easily loses ability to convey the importance to his many great inventions. Please add water fountain, orientate rooms to connect to each other instead of dead ends, and sell tetrahedrons in your gift shop!
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Well laid out museum with a lot of artifacts and information about Alexander Graham Bell, his life and his accomplishments besides just the telephone. Over all a good experience.
Educational and interesting, doesn't take long to get through it.
Who knew this couple did so many things. The museum is really impressive.
Interesting to see. Do to Covid alot of things closed
Great stop if you are passing through Cape Breton. It is close to the highway and has lots to see and experience. Plan to spend two hours there if you are going to do it justice. Worthwhile for kids and adults.
More then just the guy who invented the phone. Quite the inventor and teacher
Incredibly fascinating. I could have spent more time there but we had a long drive ahead of us. It's interesting to see how many cool inventions Bell was involved with. I had no idea Bell was involved in aviation, I thought he was just the 'phone guy'! I'd like to return and spend more time.
Got learn many things about the great scientist
Good museum - fascinating insight to Alexander Bell and his inventions. Didn't realise that he was so helpful towards the deaf. BUT - the two public telephones outside were out of order - and the out of order signs are old. THIS IS THE MUSEUM FOR THE GUY THAT INVENTED THE TELEPHONE!! Fix them if you respect the guy.
Building seemed a little warm. Outside area was beautiful with all the plants and location. Lots of interesting information about Mr. Bell.
Well worth visiting, absolutely facinating, fabulous displays. Wish i had had more time to spend there. Great building beautiful grounds.
Amazing Staff! Wonderful experience everytime I go! Good for kids with interactive activity books, and kites, and a kids keep sake key chain! Check hours! Great photo spot and Baddeck in wonderful to explore.
Good place to see a bit of Canadian history, and a beautiful area for site seeing
By far one of the best museums I have ever visited. Well worth spending a day here.
Great place, great staff and stunning surroundings
Nice, worth the time to visit.
New phone, who dis? — Alexander Graham Bell
If you have kids the highlight is kite building! Pre-register to guarantee your spot. The museum itself is quite small, and you can go through it in about an hour or less, depending on how long you spend reading each exhibit. The grounds are also quite nice and there are a few electric vehicle charging stations for those that might need it.
Enjoyable tour, lots of good history brought to life
History caught in time. Beautiful place. Loved it.
Been there many times. Great place to go see. You will be happy you did.
Fascinating visit. Totally amazed with his life. The invention of the telephone was such a small part of what he achieved.
Nice exhibits and film about his life. A busy place with only one cashier.
This was truly a wonderful Museum. There is so much history and artifacts oh, it is hard to see everything. Since we were on a tour through the area, we had too little time to enjoy the museum. The next time I I am in the area I will definitely return to the museum!
Very beautiful.
Been here a few,I always come away learning something new.
Amazing what he had his hands in. More to him than just the telephonr.
Loved it!! So full of information
Fascinating exhibits, we learned so much about this incredible individual. Plenty of artifacts to see, including a reproduction of one of Bell's airplanes - we didn't even know he was involved in flight! Definitely worth visiting.
Too bad some of the exhibits were down due to. Covid-19 but that's understandable. Still a very educational and interesting experience!
Nice, interesting story.
Really interesting museum, bigger than I thought. A couple pieces you can interact with (An old switchboard, a "mystery box" and couple other things). There was a short film about the kites/planes which was nice. The most interesting part was the "White Gloves" experience, where you're taken to a secret room and can handle old original artifacts from Alexander Bell. The lady was extremely helpful.
More information about Bell than I thought possible! It's an interesting walk through for those who are interested in his history and contributions to the world. Not something I'd go out of my way to visit, but if you are in the area, you can easily spend a few hours here.
Excellent experience, enjoyed learning about the contributions that Alexander Graham Bell made during his lifetime
A wonderful museum that chronicles Bells life, his many inventions and his life in Cape Breton. If you like history dont miss it, youll be amazed at what he invented and is on display.
Lots of interesting information, a lot of written displays that my 12 year old blew by instead of reading... He'd have found it facinating if he had.
Fascinating place! The way the man's brain worked was amazing!
I'm glad we went on the tour to get an overview to start out with.
An ok place to take kids but not much for people teenagers and up to do. It would only be a quick stop here if anything.
It's an oasis. Breathtakingly view. Abundant information to soak in. All schools should go here.
This is informative and adds a personal feel to Bell, his associates and family. Amazing inventor and his wife was such an integral part of his career. Take your time going through, it's worth it.
We'll worth the visit. There is so much more to this man than the telephone.
A nice and cozy historic museum which should be in a must visit list.
Good place to inspire your soul!! With family and friends good place to visit.
Wish we had more time there, showed up 45 minutes before closing and was told that was enough time, but in all reality it was not, there is so much to read and see, would've like another half hour to 45 minutes. It was very informative and interesting. The setting of the building was in a very nice spot as well. Really enjoyed it.
Just amazing to learn more about the man and the many aspects of life he was involved in. Very worthwhile to go through the museum
Great place, lot's to be learned.
Great To learn more about mr bell
Very informative. Good for teens and up.
We didn't go inside as it was closed. We were there looking for the Great Trail Treasure. It had an amazing view of the Baddeck Lighthouse. We took some pictures in the Red Chairs too. You can get on the roof for a picnic or to relax.
Learned a lot. Wonderful museum.
Fabulous! Loved learning about Bell and his family, their time in Nova Scotia, and all of his inventions and ideas - well beyond the telephone.
Great story about a man who did far more than invent the telephone
A shame that Bell is only known for the telephone considering how prolific he was. The museum is gorgeous and engaging for anyone of even a mild scientific interest.
Rude, homophobic Director. She should be terminated from her position.
Such an interesting museum! I had no idea that Alec Bell invented so many things, or did the very first flight in Canada in 1909! And Mabel Bell was so remarkable herself with her leadership in Baddeck. The airplane and hydrofoil are both amazing.
Very educational museum, much larger than I expected.
Very intetesting and edjucating place, the kids loved it.
Very very interesting, could spend a full day.
So far into my nova Scotia hollyday its the best ive seen ..way better than the cabot trail.. I loved it im going again before i leave the area
We popped in with only a short amount of time to spend. I was so surprised to learn as much as I did. Mr. Bell was a smart and creative man - I had no idea of the breadth of his involvement in so many different …
I was impressed with this museum. Learned a lot about AGB that my school books left out. Very interesting man.
Very cool history, the man was into alot of things! Well worth the time
Our first time there. Fun for everyone in the family. Friendly staff. Lots to learn and see.
Alot of things blocked off ????
Like the museum located in a scenic area with a lot of information. Parking is easy as well.
Extensive collection of artifacts in historical context tell the stories of Alexander Graham Bell as inventor, teacher, collaborator and benefactor of the scientific community. While most associate Bell with the telephone, this museum reminds all of his contributions to sound recording, aviation and hydrodynamics that still benefit the fields today. The museum celebrates the inventions and endeavoors of Bell's associates and family as well as the personal history. The exhibits focus on the significance of the technologies, whether they be commercial successes thus making this museum an education rather a personal tribute.
What a brilliant mind and interesting life exhibited here. Well worth the visit.
Learned much about this notable figure of history. If you can be sure and sign up for the white glove tour.
The life of Alexander Graham Bell is interesting and ford beyond the telephone, but the museum is a little old school.
Could have spent half a day there. So much to learn.
Excellent mix of reading material and artifacts in this larger than expected museum. We were able to breeze through it fairly quickly but I imagine you could probably spend 2-3 pleasurable hours in the building. Very nice grounds make great photo ops.
Amazing museum they have lots of very interesting and unique artifacts and inventions. I thought I knew quite a bit about Alexander Graham Bell until I came here. It has a bit of a strange layout inside but there is a very helpful map and extremely pleasant and knowledgable staff. Museum is run by Parks Canada so very easy to deal with and there are bilingual (French and English) staff on site. Very worthwhile experience and lots of good knowledge about all his various inventions.
Great place for the kids & adults! Was surprised at how much there was to do & learn.
Excellent museum. Very informative!
Beautiful setting, very informative, helpful personal
Nice, very informative place in both French and English. Staff are very helpful, and there's nice places to rest and explore around the building.
Really enjoyed the museum. Lot more to Alexander Graham Bell than what we are taught in school.
When you visit here don't be in a hurry. There is a lot to see and you can learn a lot if you read the information they are sharing. Mr. Bell was involved in many famous inventions.
Great Excursion Tour with experienced guide tourist personnel. Beautiful Location.
Beautiful views of the cove
Its okay. Their really isn't an enormous amount of memorabilia here compared to other museums I've been to. The displays were interesting but nothing that would make you say "wow" or would be a lasting memory. Just a nice little museum tucked into the woods in a beautiful setting. The view from the roof is excellent. Considering its a "1 man show i.e. Alexander Bell" I think they did about as much as they possibly could to make things interesting. Credit to them for what they've accomplished.
Was closed when we arrived but the view was worth a stop. Definitely would have liked to spend more time in Baddeck, it's a cute little town! The National historic site had great gardens and well manicured lawn, great signage and well kept look off area with chairs and benches. Looked like there was lots and lots of parking.
Overrated. 1 hour to walk through, less the videos. Little else in Beddeck, which I'm sure elevates the reviews
Very informative, well laid out. Good value for the price
Excellent tourist attraction. Really interesting
Great way to explore everything that he discovered!
Really enjoyed all of the exhibits
Very interesting.
Very informative, well presented, interesting for all age groups. On the outside, great views of the water.
I came here because I passed the entrance and had no idea Alexander graham bell lived here or had any history here. I forget the admission price but it was worth it for what you got. …
Well worth visiting! Very interesting!
The museum is very well done.
Learn the story about an amazing man and family. I guarantee you will learn something you didn't know about Bell.
I had no idea, before visiting this museum, just how much Mr. Bell had contributed. A beautiful place and worth taking your kids to.
Do the white glove tour. You will hold items that belonged to Bell. Well worth the extra money.
Interesting, but lots of reading and not much hands on things.
Great museum. Fantastic staff , very well informed and very friendly. Another must see place when you visit Cape Breton.
The exhibition is a bit shorter than expected but quite interesting. Beautiful view from the museum.
There are not much inside. Such a bright person and such a boring contest.
Lots of info on the life and work of Bell, replica of the Silver Dart was a real standout. Only wish was that it was a bit more in depth about the science behind his ideas and inventions. Left wanting to know more about how these things worked which when you think about it means the museum did a good job.
Never knew alexander Bell did so much in hisl ifetime. Excellent
Fun place tobe at was there in 2009 and really enjoyed the area. Fun place to visit!
To learn about all the other things that he developed was amazing.
Getting to know more about Alexander Graham Bell and his many accomplishments was so interesting. Seeing the history of the phone that we take so much for granted was worth the visit. Icing on the cake was the 2009 replica of the first powered plane that flew in North America, flying in 2009 on the 100tj anniversary of powered aviation.
I was disappointed with this museum. It needs to be updated, the museum was to static read and look only not a lot of interactive exhibits
Great museum! Lots to learn about Bell and his family.
Learned so much. Great experience
It was amazing to see just what was contributed to our advancement...so much more than we realize! Very well put together & extremely interesting...
Wonderful visit, totally unexpected stop on the way to the Cabot Trail. I can see why Bell loved this place.
Very interesting and informative if you like history and inventive milestones. Lots of reading but worth it. for awareness, may not hold younger kids interest.
Very informative and laid out. Alex was quite the dude. Smart too, to make Baddeck a second home as well as the countless contributions to furthering our society.
Fascinating place. Really interesting man.
Wow, so much history. Really worth the visit. Be sure to ask the staff about the Bells home and his burial site. To know that the family descendants live in the community is also very cool.
Amazing exhibit. You truly discover what a fabulous person Mr. Graham Bell really was. Great layout and well maintained by the folks from Parks Canada.
Great display of Canadian history. Very knowledgeable staff
Nearly organized and we'll maintained. The entry is about $8 CAD for an adult and every stage of Mr. Bell is explained.
Well curated exhibits. We learned a lot. A must see if you're in the area.
Great museum packed full of information about Bell. It explored what he was involved in after the telephone like flying and hydrofoils.
Lighting was awful, Graham Bell needs to design the museum and help out Parks Canada. Lighting is a huge problem for people being hard of sight. Excellent museum but hard to enjoy with all of the squinting and inconsistent color schemes.
Fantastic another milestone in my journey through life
Beautiful grounds, lots of parking. Clean tidy building, close to town and and amazing views
Very friendly and inviting. Limited features due to Covid. Lots of info, but not overly exciting for younger kids.
Great museum to visit and learn more about the founder of the telephone and other ingenious inventions. Lots of parking spaces available and is a good rainy weather activity for the family. Unfortunately some exhibits were closed due to …
Great historical museum highly recommended
Very interesting. Bell was an extremely busy man. I was expecting a small one room gallery so this exceeded all expectations. Baddeck's setting is pretty.
So interesting! Didn't know that Alexander's interests were so varied. Be sure to listen to the audiovisual accounts from his daughters, granddaughter, and locals. Kites available to fly for free!
Beautiful flowers as you approach, with hummingbirds and dragonflies flitting around. We were there for about an hour, as there is a lot to read. Super interesting learning about this very compassionate, brilliant man. There is a gift shop, and small cafe inside. I enjoyed seeing his "speed boat" and all the other inventions.
Beautiful displays inside. Very interesting. The grounds and views outside are beautiful as well.
Lovely grounds and building but it is not where Bell's home was. Very dark inside and loaded with tour bus crowds clogging up the flow of walking through the exhibits....and we were there off season....exhibits are good but a bit pedestrian. Glad we went once but wont go back.
Great displays. Informative
I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Quite large and was quite interesting. Would also be lovely after covid as there was a cafe and outdoor tables but they were closed.
A really interesting and informative place. Learnt alot about AG Bell and his life. Was good for the kids too. There were children's programs where they had to do tasks to get a souvenirs. This kept the kids involved. There were kite flying …
The Atlantic Provinces of Canada are well worth a visit. Alex Bell's home was close to this museum...can't visit the home but this museum makes a good effort of telling you about the man and his life.
Learned about a portion of Alexander Graham Bells life that had not been informed of in school. Very well done exhibits.
A Must See when visiting Baddeck Nova Scotia. Totally fascinating!!
Great way to learn about Bell's legacy and developments in aviation, hearing and speech therapy, and the obvious communications...
Very impressed with both the staff and the displays. I never realized what a genius Alexander Graham Bell was and how much he invented or how much he helped others. This museum is definitely worth a visit.
Very impressive museum! I had no idea how much Bell was involved in! Also a great view of Bras d'Or Lake right in front of the museum.
One of the coolest museums we've been to. So glad the weather was rainy or we might have missed this gem.
Highly informative and educational. Wonderful atmosphere. Kids had fun flying kites afterwards. Learned so much about Bell, famous for so much more than the telephone.
Was a good museum. A lot of reading but was interesting. Very well mapped out for easy tourist flow. Never felt crowded.
Interesting building and information. We used our Canada Parks pass for free entry.
Thoroughly enjoyed this museum. More interactive exhibits would have netted an additional star.
Great museum. Worth the trip
A very intetesting and insightful museum that presents the many aspects of Bell's inventive life across many fields of endeavor.
A museum about the achievements of an amazing man. The museum gives you a more thorough glimpse into the other achievements beyond the telephone that Mr and Mrs Bell worked on.
A must see it's just amazing
It's the best location in entire Cabot Trail !! Badeck is best place to stay the night as you start the trail anticlockwise.
excellent kids programs, make sure you hit the experiment!
Fun a lot of reading but learned a lot on the name that did way more than invent the telephone
Very informative museum about Alexander Graham Bell. He was more than just the inventor of the telephone. Worth a visit if you're in Baddeck.
Very friendly staff. Exhibits were displayed very nicely
Fascinating insights about this amazing man and his family. Lots of photos from his experiments. Wonderful gardens and views.
Very, very well done museum with many actual Bell devices, tools, and models. Surprised at the size of the museum and easy to read factoid historical boards. Very comprehensive review of both personal and professional life. Many historical …
It was nice and they a scavenger hunt for kids.
Very interesting! Great guided tours. You will forget the time once you are there...
Such a great museum!
If you enjoy history then you would love to take your family to this place. It's a great story of Bell and his contributions. Don't miss it if you are in the area!
Interesting site to visit
We enjoyed ourselves, clean space, really interesting exhibits. Great staff. Wonderful place for to spend and hour and a half.
Well worth a visit. I didn’t realize how many things he was involved with. Lovely spot for a picnic as well
Loved it. Be sure to go to the "slide show" about the Bell family for a charming and entertaining history. Yes, pay a little tiny fee for this. It was lots of fun and very informative.
Informative museum in a glorious location!
Great place to visit
Excellent staff, interesting exhibits and overall a fun time. My daughter loves her free kite they give out to the little people ????
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We learned a lot about Alexander Bell and his wife Mabel that we did not know before. Very informative and well worth a visit. We also loved the location--Baddeck is a beautiful little town. We can understand why Mr. Bell moved his family there.
Neet little museum with alot of interesting facts about Alexander Graham Bell. Much more stuff to go through than I expected and we'll with the visit
We learned a great deal about A.G. Bell and his accomplished wife during our visit. Never knew that he was such a multitalented man. The AR experience was an added treat.
Great way to spend some time with family
