The cappuccino was great, however the service was quite lacking. The staff weren't friendly. The macaroons were soggy and lacked and texture or significant flavor. It felt like they were in the display for a few days too much. I must say that despite that, the cappuccino was top notch, with a full bodied taste and expertly done microfoam. A good place to get your cappuccino fix and go.

An underrated gem at Yorkdale! Their coffee is delicious & they have a large assortment of desserts to choose from, which can be a tad bit pricier. Far less busy than their chain competitors, and lots of seating. Perfect for casual catch-ups with friends, or a place to lounge while studying or working.

This place serves great Italian style coffee and have great selections of pastries and sweets. Staffs are very polite and friendly. Located inside Yordale mall, a level below food court. The happy hour special is a good deal, $6.50 for cappuccino/latte and cannoli.

I came in because I saw the happy hour sign, which included a cannoli and a latte or cappuccino. All i can say is that the cannoli was amazing definitely coming back for more and try the other flavours. My cappuccino tastes really good, it was rich and foamy. The staff was exceptionally helpful and really friendly.

I enjoyed this shop! The decor is very nice and the restaurant itself is well kept. There's lots of different food and drink to choose from. I ordered a fruit smoothie that tasted fresh. Wait times are short. Prices aren't cheap but aren't expensive either. I'd come back here again!

Went to buy Nespresso compatible capsules on Oct 2nd. Noticed 2 out of 4 boxes already past best before date 2 weeks ago when I trying to open one. Called the store today, the staff on the phone was like, I just checked our inventory and their BBD are next year, and we never got any complaint from our customers, we don’t have records from last week. I could almost hear they say “I didn’t say you are lying but you probably are” They say they cannot help me unless I am willing to drive 60km to their shop with the capsules and receipt. I asked for customer service phone and they said they don’t know one. If their assumption from the beginning is that I am a scammer instead of to help a disappointing then angry customer , I wonder how could I proof I did get the capsules from them? After all, there’s no serial number on the receipt to uniquely confirm that the capsules on my hand are indeed sold by then. Right? Smart illy?

Very disappointed. Great cappuccino but stale pastries. My bomba with pistachio cream had the cream still frozen inside. Staff admitted they pull them out of the freezer already baked and filled. I will very likely go back for the espresso and cappuccino, but I'm never buying pastries here again.

The strawberry shortcake cupcake was too cold, so the flavor didn't come through. The icing was like a big pat of butter - too salty, silky and not one ounce strawberry flavor. The brownie was awesome according to my niece but I felt it was too much "bar" and not enough "brownie". The decaf cappuccino hit the spot but too pricey in my opinion. However the ambiance of the place is lovely.

Any time I'm at Yorkdale mall, I stop into Illy for a quick respite! Coffee is great (love their cappacinos) and they always have great snackables like biscotti or muffins or something not too decadent to take the edge off. It's not that they don't have other delectable treats, it's just that I try to resist. What I love most (besides the coffee), is that while it's always bustling, the seating area has high ceilings and a sense of openness that helps you decompress when the mall is packed. Great spot, great coffee, great ambiance!

This is Illy. The location has a nice selection of pastries, and the coffee is quite good. However, there are some tough competitions in Yorkdale Shopping Centre (Nadége, Ladurée). It is nevertheless a nice place to come if you want something that feels more than a treat, something more than Starbucks or Tim Horton. The only annoyance is it can oftentimes be hard to find a seat.

Where to begin? I believe management is the source of all of there problems and overall experience. The cafe would be an actual cafe if it were not for their manager. Every time I come in the manager is always on his phone, never around to help the team out, ignoring guests. We shouldn't have to ask for his attention, he should be watching, always aware of what's happening in his restaurant... is that not your job? It's terrible to see all this potential go to waste - you have a wonderful space but a horrendous experience... even your staff looks depressed! WAKE UP !!!!!

Quality wise, I really love their espresso and their pastries. It's just fantastic. However, I think you should do your shopping and then go there because it's usually busy and crowded; So take your time and enjoy your coffee in a well-designed place with a lovely espresso. PS. Thumbs up to the manager there (forget her name) for her great greeting and lovely service.

It seems like management has changed, and for the better. Staff are in high spirits and are really friendly and helpful. The vibe of the cafe feels more lively and happy. Might just come back more often now. I also really love their cannoli that I had to buy four!

My husband is Italian and loves his espresso so of course we go there as it's the best place in Yorkdale for that. No complaints there. However, their Tiramisu which was once our favourite is now really hard and "old." It use to be really soft and fresh. The first time we had the bad experience we thought maybe it was just the case and not to judge. But today after 3 bad experience in a row, I will no longer order this dessert.

This place's service was bearable compared to its macarons. THE WORST macarons I have ever had. They were rock hard, almost as if they were a month old. The buttercream was solid rock, the shells were hallow and they were $2.95 a piece. Whatever you do DONT EVER buy their macarons

They’ve really gone down hill. I use to love their coffee and snacks, not anymore. Service is very poor and slow. Ordered a large cappuccino, it was watery, two shots of espresso in a huge cup and filled it up with milk, that’s a latte, not a capp. Two other people came in while I was waiting in the lineup and they got tired of waiting so they left. I said to the young man behind the counter “you’re losing customers because people are tired of waiting”, he responded “ not my problem if they don’t schedule enough people to serve customers”. Wow! The Nutella and ricotta sandwich that I’d had several times before was horrible, there was about 1/4 the amount of ricotta on it this time and no visible Nutella. My husband ordered a piece of cake that was not fresh, very old and outdated. I went there today after not going there for 6 mts because we’d been disappointed before, but thought we’d give it another chance, bad move, nothing has changed, except gotten worse. Very disappointing. Just wish some businesses would learn the value of holding onto the customers you have, it’s cheaper than finding new ones.

I bought a Cheesecake brownie and a macaron. They both looked really good but the taste was less than mediocre. A brownie should be right and dense in texture. This was not. The macaron was just the worst. With so many other options in Yorkdale for baked goods this cafe should step up there game. The 3 star rating is because the staff were friendly and nice

Illy is a great little cafe located in Yorkdale near the Cineplex entrance. Italian desserts and coffee with a fairly large indoor seating area. The servers are all nice and the treats taste amazing. A tad bit on the expensive side I would think but it is personal preference and the cafe does lend itself to what I suppose would be considered more upscale desserts when compared to something like a Tim Hortons or Starbucks collection. Worth checking out if you're already in Yorkdale and looking for a treat.

Normally I would not write a comment on a cafe that is a grab and go place. I have to give illy cafe which is on the second floor of Yorkdale mall a one star to make a statement. I went there on a busy Saturday afternoon with my friends for some coffees. The line was long and I was waiting patiently. We moving towards the cashier slowly and by the time I was at the cashier, she was very impatient and said I was supposed to order along the line which I and the customer behind me both did not realize. That was fine and I started to place my order. She was rude and impatient to rush me out.I got upset and ask for a manager. That was the starting point of the story. He came out and told me to keep quiet and pay and move on without listen to my concern. I said "pardon me?" And this white man, the manager, use his own white accent to speak one word in Cantonese to ask me to "shut up" . I think he learned from his staff or friend. This is very insulting and he was judging people by the look ie ( racist) . I told him I don't speak Cantonese. He called the security over. I even talked to the security that we are not staying in this very rude place from staff to the management. Even the security shown compassion. We left. I just want to say this place has very poor service. They might not care about losing one or two customers since they are a very busy cafe. However, with keen compatit ions and word of mouth these days. Good luck with their business!!

You'll definitely get a great cup of coffee but the menu lacks most of the unique espresso beverages the cafe offers internationally. The seating and tables are spacious; the presentation of ordered items always look great. The marble cake and chocolate fondant could be better.

I am sorry to say this but this location has the worst customer service. I like the food and pastry selection; the location and ambiance is quite good but the service makes people think twice before going there. Unfortunately is the only place where you can get an espresso! Even that is not something you look for. Last time I went we were three people, we asked for 1 espresso, 2 cookies and a glass of water. Nobody was on line waiting so it should have been a simple operation of service. It took the girl at least 15 minutes before she could put all that in a tray and bring us to the cash service. Unfortunately, this has been the down side of this location, terrible service, no smiling people and very very slow...

Recent visit in mid August 2021. Thank goodness they are open after lockdown. Cappuccino is wonderful. However, not the chocolate cheesecake. Dry and hard to enjoy. Could not finish most of it. This place is amazing because of their staff, but the management is the worst. People who went here will know that the staff tries their hardest to provide the best experience for the customers and should be treated right, but no the management treats them like garbage. They hire more staff almost everyday to avoid ever having to pay the current employees any incentives. They provide their employees with only 1 day shift a week and keeps hiring more employees. Work place discrimination is off the roof, with the new managers. The managers will pick and choose to be rude to the people they don’t like. They do not allow their employees to change shift even during an emergency. Superiority complex runs deep within the managers at this location. If you are a customer or a person that is looking for a job, avoid this place at all cost. Overpriced cafe and disrespectful management. The staff are wonderful though.
