Very good new place! Figured I'd throw my hat in on the reviews for the white boy representation! The best butter chicken in town. Samosas are solid, but see my other reviews on the best (my opinion only!) The seating is comfortable, and welcoming, noticed no music though? Maybe it was just the timing we were there. Portion sizes could be bigger for the money, BUT, from what my wife and I had it was VERY delicious and the atmosphere is great. The naan was crispy which was different, may want to have an option for soft or hard.. We'll definitely be back, wish all the best in success

This is the best Indian food I have had. I can’t decide which dish I enjoyed the most, a toss up between the chicken curry, tandoori chicken, lamb dish (name escapes me) and organic mixed vegetables were all exceptional. An impressive selection of wine and great service!

Just tried the Royal Turban and although it’s a little on the pricy side let me assure you it’s worth every penny. The lamb vindaloo was incredible, tender fat free and melt in your mouth lamb and the vindaloo tasted homemade. Butter chicken delicious, perfect. Although we got take out and didn’t dine in they were so friendly. The restaurant looks beautiful inside and spotless. Can’t wait to dine in next time. Thanks Royal Turban so bringing real and delicious Indian cuisine to Woodstock.

This was my first time ordering from The Royal Turban. I usually order from another place in town, but wanted to venture out. I ordered Shahi paneer this evening, this is usually my go-to dish and I have never had it taste like this before. First thing that I found off about the dish was the sauce, it had a similar taste to canned tomato soup with too much pepper- almost unbearable. Second thing that I personally was not fond of was the paneer, seemed stale when taking a bite it almost fell apart in your mouth almost like the consistency of medium to firm tofu. I am saddened by the experience as I was excited on trying something new.

I am a Romanian - Canadian who lives in London and this is the best Indian restaurant that I have been to so far. The chef is just brilliant to make such innovative, delicious food and manage to keep it truly authentic! We went ahead with the dining in and the place is so atmospheric . The server bought us papdumm while we were waiting and we went ahead and ordered course meal for two which was absolutely mouthwatering and everything was taken care of including the spice level although the dessert was way too sweet for us. I and my wife would want to come back to Woodstock just to try the rest of the menu! Thank you to the chef and the server Hermann who I was very surprised to know spoke Romanian and was quite the Romanophile and offered to deliver the food to our car knowing that I was disabled and used crutches to walk. The restaurant's team and chefs are amazing for providing an amazing food experience and putting innovative Indian food out there .

Way overpriced for smaller portions and minimal taste. I ordered delivery and got rice that was like pudding and tasted like cigarette buds. The chana masala and paneer saag had zero flavour, like eating matter and the garlic naan had hairs cooked into it. There are many other Indian restaurants in Woodstock, some cheaper than here, to eat at instead. Remember, fancy decor and high prices doesn't mean good food.

You can not be disappointed by them. I must say one of the best North Indian Cuisine restaurants in Ontario. I ordered Shahi Paneer, Chana Masala (Chhole) with Naan from here several times from Skipthedishes. Texture of Shahi Paneer with cream on top of that with paneer, was just perfect with spices. And you can see that the Naan prepared, was really fresh and hot with the smell of butter and garlic with it. Chana Masala was also really flavorful of Indian Spices. Can't wait to order again or dine-in.

Had lunch there today and I'm very impressed. The decor was beautiful, restaurant very clean and the food was amazing! Had the chicken curry with medium spice. I love spicy food and want sure how hot it would be. I probably could have went spicier but it was perfect. The naan bread was a little greasy but very flavorful. I will definitely return.

Just horrible and disgusting. Got my food, the naan was too dry and had flour all over it. I never seen or ate this kind of naan and I’m familiar with Indian food. I will not be returning and recommend this place. Naan didn’t even has a pinch of salt. Food tasted bad, not authentic.

Stopped here on our way from Toronto, the place is really close to the 401 so it's easy to get to even if you live somewhere else. Fantastic food! I've been to several Indian restaurants and this place is authentic. The flavours here are out of this world! Absolutely amazing. Had takeout. Butter chicken and garlic naan. Sooooo good, I don't eat Indian foods very often but this was delicious. While waiting for it they sat me at a table and served me crispy bread chips and a dipping sauce e, not sure the name of them, along with a glass of water. Very polite waitress too. Not sure about the other menu items but my order was awesome. Very unique looking inside, and looked very clean. Will definitely have it again.

What a wonderful experience this was! My wife and I, are very new to Indian cuisine but had heard great things about The Royal Turban. We decided to stop in and give it a try - absolutely no regrets. They were extremely friendly and took the time to explain the menu, food choices and in the end we decided to try the Chef’s special three course meal for two. It was more than enough food (we took left overs home) and we couldn’t have been more satisfied. The chef even took his time to come out and speak with us. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and it’s always great to support a local business.

Nice Indian restaurant here in Woodstock. The food was good. The atmosphere is dark which makes the room “pop” with all of the mirrors or decorations. It’s nice. The music that was playing felt the same as you’d get at The Mandarin, light piano music set to popular songs; nothing wrong with that really. Some of the dishes came differently than we had expected (less sauce, more veggies) but it was still really good. The servers were friendly. The restaurant was clean. The royal ambience and interiors of the restaurant reminded me of the palaces of Rajasthan. The hospitality and the food was beyond exceptional. The food was authentic indian which is hard to find in a small town like Woodstock. What strikes you is the subtlety of flavouring- where spices don’t overwhelm the beauty of the key ingredients. The butter chicken was delicious with the perfectly baked tandoori garlic naan! A must visit when in Woodstock!

Absolutely wonderful restaurant! The food here is phenomenal and the waitress we had was kind, tentative and friendly. The place was clean, beautifully decorated and the food came out hot and fresh. We tried the butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, Palak paneer and lentil dahl with a few appetizers too. You get a lot of food at a very decent price. I've seen a few people saying they thought The Royal Turban was expensive but I find it cheap for the amount and quality of food. Also, high-quality Indian restaurants have similar prices so maybe they have not been to a nice Indian restaurant before. Either way, amazing food with superior flavour, great atmosphere, friendly staff and awesome experience! Check it out if you get the chance.

This restaurant gets everything right. From the moment you walk in to when you leave. From the little things to the big things. The decor is very nice and great atmosphere with the music and comfortable seating. They have free wifi and complimentary papadums to snack on. The service is some of the best I’ve seen from the Indian restaurant industry. The waiters and chefs were very helpful and knowledgeable people. The food itself was really good. The lunch special portions are great for the price and it feels like a very upscale elegant restaurant experience. I had the chicken vindaloo with garlic naan, it was delicious. I had the rice pudding for dessert which was made perfectly. It’s rare I have an experience this good at a restaurant so I’m thoroughly impressed. Keep up the great work and you guys will probably win awards.

A nondescript hidden gem in a strip mall, one cannot imagine the surprise I felt walking into this oasis of culture and exotic decor. Our server Ramanpreet was professional and attentive, as one must be with water when sampling such flavourful cuisine. We opted for the Vegetable Appetizer Platter, and the Special Tandoori Platter. The pappadums provided were crisp and delicate, and the cooling mint yogurt sauce cut the heat of the cuisine perfectly. I wasn't expecting to experience such delicious food and wonderful atmosphere, yet enjoyed the entire meal immensely. Will definitely return next time I am in town.

Woodstock, you are fortunate to have such a wonderful resto. I'm from Toronto, which has many top notch South Asian options. Royal Turban is easily better than all but 2-3 of them. Great decor. Small size and when full there is a buzz - not a deafening roar. You are greeted with real smiles and a basket of Pappadum - excellent, fresh Pappadum. The food is spiced to your taste. It is freshly prepared. I know this because I can taste the individual ingredients. The different sauces tasted unique. Service is attentive without smothering you. Owners are there and actively involved in ensuring everything is perfect.

What a hidden gem ????, from the outside looking in you might walk by but DON’T ! From the beautiful, cozy inside looking around you will be elated you found this wonderful dining establishment and questioning why you didn’t find it earlier. Our beautiful waitress “Reena”made us feel right at home, guided us through the menu and was attentive to our photo taking and providing take out containers for the food we were too full to eat. Our choice of the “three course meal for two” was more than enough, with each course more flavourful than the next ! Like the Fourth of July for your mouth. A highlight was the chef coming out to ask if the heat ( spice) was to our liking, it was AMAZING From the moment we walked in the door. This is the best Indian food I've had since I lived in Mississauga 10 years ago. I ordered samosas, butter chicken, dal makhani, shahi paneer, pulao rice, and garlic naan. The samosas were massive and came with a side of mild chana. The butter chicken was tender and had no pieces of cartilage; it was all meat. The dal makhani was creamy and unctuous. The shahi paneer was very tender and the paneer wasn't rubbery at all (which I've disliked in the past). The pulao rice was almost biryani-style with all the seasoning and vegetables. You could make a meal out of the rice itself, unlike jira rice which is more plain. My only concerns are that it's pretty expensive and you have to order the rice separately from your curry dishes, but these are minor complains when considering the quality of the food. I've eaten leftovers for the past 2 days and I'm sad that I don't have any more left. Will order again soon!

I visited the Royal Turban for lunch because a friend had suggested that I check this new place out. Initially, I was just going to order take- out but when I was looking through the menu, I noticed the calm music and the beautiful dining room. I sat down to a delicious shrimp lunch. The garlic naan was amazing with the yogurt dip and the Chana masala wonderful. The waiter was kind and helpful and the food came promptly and hot. I will definitely recommend the Royal to others and I will come back again.

So I am giving a 4 stars rating as this was my first visit and until I have tried more items. However from the moment I walked in my experience was awesome. I wanted a take out but I was still shown to a seat by the counter and presented a take out menu with a water. My order was taken with ease and while I waited they served me with poppadoms and 2 sauces both of which were delicious. I ordered a masala and a chicken tikka which are my go to items and they also were delicious, actually it was better than I expected. I recently moved to Woodstock and had been disappointed with the other places in town. My only comment would be to to ask for one stage hotter as I ordered a medium and when I go back I will order hot (each place has their own measure of what’s hot or not) I look forward to exploring more of your menu when I can then give you a five star ⭐️

Food was amazing when it first opened. Just finished our chicken vindaloo and veg curry. It was so horrible, words aren’t enough. Chicken was cinnamon chicken, curry was literally water. Veggie curry was similar, curry was see through like water. Lacked flavour. So disappointing, as they had a score when they first opened. I will NEVER return. Thought I should add a note, since the restaurant added a response. As I stated... I had eaten at the restaurant prior to this, the first time I ate at the restaurant the food was amazing... some of the best Indian food I had ever had, however each time I returned the quality of the dishes diminished, until my last visit, which was so bad I had to write the review. Because the food at the first visit was so amazing I gave this restaurant multiple times to repeat that quality, which never happened. Quality and consistency are the key to any businesses success. You don’t need phone calls or excuses.

At first I loved this place but the quality seems to be declining. I Ordered chicken vindaloo and it was very watery and had not much flavor. We also ordered an extra order of rice that we paid for which was not with our order. I never leave reviews but this meal had both me and my wife disappointed. Coming to food, the appetizer was under cooked and had any taste in it then the main course the quantity was good but the quality was so bad and tasteless that we kept on switching dishes so we can get at least a single item that is delightful or has taste in it at last it our mood was spoiled so it lead us to pack the whole food . Coming to the part of customer service: for the billing they just left the bill and machine on our table and went away . We understand that it could be their busiest hour but they should have a little sense of gratitude when someone is talking or paying the bill you could find a minute or two to provide your attention to that customer. The reason for writing the review is that we travelled a really long distance (80 km) just to taste the food On the basis of Reviews they had. The funny thing that they have actual burning candles on their tables and they provide the breads in literal paper towels. The table was packed with the food and their was hardly any room left for the additional item and guess what the paper caught the fire and the waitress tried her best to contain the fire but until then there were ashes all over on the table, our clothes and hair. When the supervisor lady came in she was more worried about the sofa chair then her own employee and the customer (us). COULD DO BETTER GUYS!!!!!!!

We finally got around to trying the Royal Turban. Wow! From start to finish, the experience was fabulous!! Our food tasted amazing, every course! The spring rolls, tandoori shrimp, and the dal makhni were delish!!! Picking our spice level is a wonderful option. My husband and I will rave about it to anyone who asks, and anyone who doesn’t!! Will definitely be back. As a side, I love the simplicity and the beauty of the decor!

I am giving this review because I ordered chana masala, and chicken biryani and garlic naan, first we were told it would be a 40 minute wait, so we arrive at the 40 minute mark, and our food was not ready, and we had to wait 10 more minutes for COLD food, the chicken biryani was cold and the chicken was very dry, and there was hardly any chick peas in the chana masala, also the naan was also cold, so I am not sure what we waited 50+ minutes for, just to receive cold food that did not measure up to the expectations. I have eaten at A LOT of different Indian restaurants throughout Ontario, and this one was by far the worst for the value, because the food was very overpriced as well. Very disappointed.

Food was good, service was lacking. The layout of the location feels crowded, you may be touching elbows with strangers when it's busy. The servers and guests bottoms were 6 inches from our food as they squeeze between the tables.

When we arrived home, we noticed that one of the dishes we ordered was not in the bag. I called to notify the staff and the order was delivered to us promptly and free of charge. The food was absolutely amazing. I am very happy I tried Indian food again. The spices and other ingredients were so delicious! I will definitely return to this restaurant!

We ordered take-out from Royal Turban...the flavours and quality were excellent (even the rice was special - Peas Pulao). Even the lamb was lean and tender (it can be nasty in some places). Definitely recommended for high quality Indian. Too bad their ‘patio’ is on a hot parking lot but they’re doing what they can during the crisis. We’re kind of Indian Food snobs and will definitely eat here again. Delicious. Nice to have great food options in Woodstock. Keep up the great work!

The decor is lovely and the service was spectacular. Prices are a touch higher than in most Indian restaurants as you have to order rice or naan seperate because they don't come with the main dishes but the quality of food is still worth the price. We started with the onion bhaji which had a touch of heat but were crispy and light. I had the RT Special curry with lamb and it had a really delightful combination of spices and the hint of mint married so well with the tender lamb. My partner had the chicken Korma and said it too was wonderful. We shared some rice and butter naan and they were both fresh and soft and tasty. So all around, we were more than pleased with our first experience here!

The Royal Turban provides Punjabi style food that is delicious! I have tried four of their vegetarian curry options and their samosa and pakora. All have had a great depth of flavour and leave you wanting more. They definitely take pride in their recipes and in the service and design of the restaurant. It is very elegant on the interior and the service is top notch. I am very excited to have a real Indian restaurant so close to home!

My first impression of this place was WOW! The decor definitely gives you the “WOW” factor upon walking in. We were seated promptly and the staff working was SO nice and accommodating. My husband is not familiar with Indian cuisine so the staff stood there and explained the level of spiciness and the different bases to mute the level of spice. We both decided on the butter chicken with garlic naan. While we are waiting we were brought these delicious crisps with a sweet sauce. So far 5 star experience. The food just came and our minds are BLOWN! It is so delicious and the portions are perfect. Literally cooked to perfection! We will be returning weekly to try different dishes! So happy woodstock has this dining place! EDIT: It’s May 01/ 2020 and I used skip the dishes to order butter chicken and I thought it came with rice but I didn’t get any I called the restaurant and they said no rice is usually purchased extra but at lunch they’ve got a combo, the man said please come on down and pick up some rice as he would hate to see our evening spoiled. I am still just amazed at this restaurant I am always treated with such respect. Thank you SO MUCH. The Royal Turban ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food is great, take out isn't the best. I ordered at 11am for pickup at 2pm, well ahead of time...i ordered samosas, chana masala, and 2 lunch butter chickens, once arriving home after paying $45 and i live out of town...no samosas, no chana dish, instead i got the yogurt salad, with mango chutney and rice, i called the restaurant the lady told me she needed to call me back because she couldn't tell me what happened even though she took my order earlier, also she was nowhere to be seen when i picked up the food. They call me back and i missed it because i have more important things to do...this time i asked to speak to the gentleman as he was the one on the voice-mail. The woman answered...wouldn't put him on the phone with me and said she would get him to call me back. Super irritated by the service this woman provided and they expected me to drive all the way back into town after speaking to them the first time...and ordering 3. Hours. Earlier.

Just went with my wife and I. Sat us down and the waitress said every 5 mins that she would be with us. Seemed to spend more time supporting takeout than taking our order. Finally took our order with drinks. 10 mins later we are told our drink is not available so we changed to a different drink. 5 mins later we are told our original drink is available. Now this is 30 plus minutes with no drink order but three takeout were serviced. We left with nothing. Shame nice looking place.
