Great place to meet for coffee. The owners are very nice and there is always a warm welcome. They have free WiFi and outside chairs. They have a large selection of baked goods and ice cream.

Been going since the 90s and through different owners. Great location. Good sandwiches, muffins, cookies, treats, etc. And otherwise really nice proprietors. BUT if you go in the afternoon and they deem business too slow for them, they will not make coffee*. From after lunch to closing time you may not be able to get a coffee here. Serious. This review is based on many experiences over the years and comments have been made directly. I would think having leftover brewed coffee at the end of the day is the price of having a coffee shop. It does say "Coffee House" on the awning, correct? So serve coffee as long as you are open or don't call yourself a coffee house. On this point about coffee availability, I am giving two stars but I want to give 2 and a half. (*EDIT: That is flavoured coffee. Apparently, one might be able to get regular coffee....but still....)

The coffee is really good. It would be nice if the servers were more aware of what allergens are in the food (maybe some labels?). Their new gluten free/dairy free bagel is decent.

I loved the place! But please if drop some macaroons on the floor please don’t put it back to the shelfs.I don’t want to be rude but it looked disgusting when I saw the woman picking the macaroons up and then watching me(I quickly started seeing my mom) and put it back with the rest of them.

I live in the area so go here often. It's the best place on the beach to grab a sandwich and lots of parking across the beach during non peak times. Beach promenade is right across the street.

The Dalgona milk tea was a refreshing drink. Sweet but not overly. The coffee we had was really good. Next time we will try the ice cream. Most customers were eating ice cream there. It is located across from the beach.

The owner saw me paying for parking on her way to work before 10 am, and grabbed my attention as she was driving by, "you don't need to pay for parking yet! Not until 10 am!". Saved me $6. Only later did I walk in and realised she owns the coffee shop down the street (Or works There, but I think owns it too). I got an Americano and left a nice tip. Americano is fantastic too :)

My friend and I went there after an afternoon walk for coffee but I decided to get a gelato. Tiramisu flavor was recommended by the staff and he didn't fail me ???? The place was not very busy that day so we lingered there until almost closing time. The place is clean, has a spacious seating area and I love the wall art (for sale) on the side. Must try cafe!

It's always a pleasant experience to stop for a coffee, bun, or what have you at Whitby's. The staff always seem to be ready with a smile and some friendly chit-chat. And, to be greeted by that wonderful coffee aroma as one walks through the door -- oh my!

That bad review from 3 months ago bothers me - just proves you can't believe everything you read on the internet! This place is a nice cafe across the street from the water. There are baked goods, sandwiches, soup, coffee, and tea - and of course ice cream and gelato. The coffee is served in a ceramic mug if you are staying in, or in a takeout cup if you are not. They feature artwork from artists that is for sale, and have a variety of cozy chairs, including limited outdoor seating. The staff have only ever been nice to me!

Great ice cream, and great portions. The place has one of the best locations an ice cream/coffee house can have. The price is a bit much for ice cream, but the portion makes up for it. Great place to enjoy an ice cream while watching the sun set. I would definitely recommend coming here if you enjoy good ice cream or coffee while watching the sun set.

Like to leave positive reviews but sadly can’t. Ask if he had white hot Chocolate, quick to respond not friendly White hot chocolate .. what size... in question I confirmed again so you do have a white Belgian hot chocolate.? Yes What size was. Medium please. What size pointing at his cup display. 16 please. And it’s to go please Typed in the order and then just walked away. The girl making the items. Had several coffee cups ready. there was only two people in the store.so I politely confirmed the white hot chocolate will be in a To go cup? Looked at me white mocha , politely no I said I ordered white hot chocolate white mocha she replied. No It’s white hot chocolate. Then the fellow came back and said White mocha. I asked for white hot chocolate. We don’t have. Then what did you charge me for ? White mooca Ok fine then I just take that. My wife said honey he said. he had white hot chocolate. That’s ok I said I can just drink that. When the girl handed me the mocha I said thank you. But received a silent glare. So thought I would post it. Mistakes or launguage barrers happen. At least be greatful you have a Clent to keep your doors open. Will never return. I am sure there are many businesses that would be happy to have the business.

We Had a fruit smoothy and chia tea latte. Both Yummy. There were many great looking baked treats but i am gluten free and none of treats were gf. Lots if flavours of icecream and gelato too. Indoor seating as wekk as a row of chairs outside along sidewalk. Washroom available to patrons. Nice friendly service.

This was once a place you could sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee or snack in positive atmosphere with friendly folk. Hadn't been here for years and was very disappointed. The Cafe latte lukewarm and served in a toxic styro foam cup. It was obviously made from a low grade coffee. Food pre made and warmed up in a microwave and tasteless. The older female server was argumentative and outright rude to another customer. I did not need to hear it. White Rock is a community of people conscious of health and the environment. Generally very friendly. The owners of Whitby's Coffee House need to wake up and think about health and environment and learn to deal with customer concerns in a friendly manner.

A nice stop for coffee and this place had a steady flow of customers, coming and going. Protocols in place if you want to sit inside. I saw muffins, cookies, and foods that pair well with the coffee. We will definitely return again.
