A cute café next to the WAG. Nice ocean view. Delicious sandwiches and coffee/tea. Owner incorporates various types of Indian dishes into the menu. Great place to wind down or a spot for an afternoon tea!

Such a great spot!! Super friendly and enjoyed an amazing homemade soup. The decor is totally ocean beach style antique white and cozy. Great music and great ocean views. Love it here

The cafe itself is very cute. Service was slow, our server was maybe new and or shy. My husband and I were the only ones there apart from one large table that must have been family and or friends of the owners because all attention was at their table. Food finally arrived after about 30 mins or so. My samosa salad literally had maybe 6 leaves of actual lettuce/spinach. Essentially it was an expensive bowl of crumbled up samosas. My husbands flatbread pizza was quite small for the price as well. Pretty place, but would not return due to lack of service, and lack of quality and quantity of the meals for the prices.

What a delight!! This hidden gem of a place with amazing ambience was hidden from me until a friend and his wife called me to join them for coffee. Honestly, I don't remember the the taste of coffee... but the place had a very welcoming vibe.... Because it is tucked away in the back of an old building, it looks very private, invitation only place..... They had some fusion Indian snacks... Would I go there again? Absolutely!!! Now that I like the place, I will go taste their food as well....

Great first experience. Went for a work meeting. Plugged in the address and was blown away. Didn't know what to expect but 100% pleased. Service was great, almost as good as the Americano :) Will go back and try the other goodies.

Horrible water down coffee for $4? You can't sell coffee like that, it taste worse than those free coffee on i5 rest areas.

A quiet little spot tucked away in the building of the daily parking lot at the east end of White Rock beach. Great coffee, desserts, and food with an Indian flare. The Bombay Masala toast is a must try! I always go with the veggie option and have them add falafel. So delicious! The staff are great people and super friendly. 5+ stars!

Going home???? Simran at Verandah is an outstanding host who welcomes you to her cafe for authentic Indian street food. She delights in offering her take on traditional food and new creations from her home and her heart. She is passionate about offering something different to the normal North American Indian restaurant offerings. I have visited from early summer 2018 to tonight! Every creation I have tasted has amazed me in its uniqueness and newness while being buoyed up by consistent quality and subtlety. When I tried her Samosa salad, my mind recalled memories of something I had enjoyed before - Chaat! When I mentioned this she said: “Exactly, it is my take on Chaat”. Well, this is Chaat at a whole new level. So superior ????. Every meal has been a thrill. Simran has also suggested meals not on the menu which she cooked that evening for her family - stupendous! If you want the run of the mill curry or mass produced Indian food, then this cafe will be unable to meet that want. However, if you want food that makes love to your taste buds through its fragrance and flavours, then Verandah will exceed your expectations, excite you and have you coming back for more! And you will be greeted warmly and served with grace. SL ????

Its an amazing cafe with much more amazing food and of course the view. I can swear by the food they serve, literally the best I have had around the area. Their sandwiches and hot chocolate is a MUST TRY. Simply loved it and had great time. Must visit if you are in the area.

This was gorgeous. Definitely hidden gem status. The view overlooks the waterfront, with a beautiful kind of vintage-fusion interior, lots of light, and delicious flavours. The owners said its only been open a few months, so I don't think the community has discovered how amazing this place is yet! I was just passing through the area and didn't have time to try many menu items, but they all sounded so good, and the tea and pastry I tried were delicious - not too sweet, with delicate but unmistakeable fruit and spice flavours. Free parking is a definite plus, and it's a bit tucked away because it faces the water, not the street. You enter from the front off of the parking lot, go down a hallway, and turn left to get in. Will definitely stop if I'm in the area again.

Adorable little bistro! Standard coffee creations with fresh muffins, scones, sweets, but also delicious Indian infused brunches, light fare, sandwiches and treats. Absolutely loved the Masala Chai tea and open face chicken Masala sandwich!

The most unexpected surprise on White Rock beach. A cafe that serves freshly made delicious hot pakoras. The owner made us lassee that wasn't even on the menu. Their gourmet Coffee is also made when you order it.

Cute little Cafe with nice views and a yummy menu. Glad we stopped by!

Amazing decor, lovely place. The best Masala Tea ever, I highly recommend this place. We had a mangoe coconut muffin and dates/raisin loaf, along with Masala Tea, both are amazing. A must visit if you are in White Rock.

Clark Mitchell

The lentil soup is so good I forgot about major traumatic life events for 12 minutes.

This place is really well decorated. It’s absolutely charming. Based on the decor, I expected to see French Macarons and not an Indian food menu. Left me feeling somewhat confused. Tried a mango smoothie and it was good. Will come back to try some of the Indian food.

Shannyn Marie

Popped in on a last minute whim.. was in neighborhood, and thought I'd stop for a quick coffee, only to find myself sitting down and ordering something to eat as well. Very warm and inviting, and OH BOY!! I had a butter chicken nanzaa and glass of wine...and it was AMAAAZZZIINGG!! I tried to save half and bring home to share what I had found... Unfortunately, it made it to my fridge, and then very shortly after, found it's way into my stomach ???????? So looks like we'll have to go back so I can share my find with others ( & I can't eat their experience bahahaaa!!! Thanks for Reading!! Enjoy your dining experience & have a great dining experience!!

Trendy upscale cafe, with a spectacular view of the water. Food is tasty and well plated, the tea was a delight. Would definitely recommend checking it out.

The oatmilk chai and pakoras were great! The hall on the way to the restaurant could use some work though

Ola Murawska

You walk down such an unassuming hallway and you're transported to the beach cafe of your dreams!!! Great hot/iced espresso drinks, their samosas were so unbelievably good without being greasy. Will be back for sure!!!

Tanvi Ahuja

The dreamiest cafe by the beach - so comfy , unique food menu, perfect pastry tarts, yummy nanzas, indian fusion food - kathi rolls ???? ALL DAY BREAKFAST - wow cant get better than that ????????

Really friendly staff and very tasty food. Can't wait to come back.

The front of the building looked old so I imagine a dark spot - to turn the corner and find this delightful spot was such a TREAT! The owner was lovely, sold me on a small fresh samosa and chickpeas which didn’t disappoint. Caramel Iced coffee was lovely with the ocean view and a book. I’ll be back on an a rainy day too I’m sure to enjoy a snack an a view, next time I’ll try chocolate dropped strawberries!

Where do I start? The ever smiling and welcoming owners, cute interiors, soft bakes and hot and cold beverages, everything makes it a perfect place to spend time with your loved ones. And the Cherry on Top is the ocean view.

Tucked away next to the WAG, this place has a cozy decor with amazing food.

Cozy cafe with ocean views. A variety of pastries and the most excellent Indian fusion dishes I've ever had. Seems like a family business with unique tastes and original ideas. Butter chicken pizza and the Samosa salad were amazing. I can't wait to try more from the menu and the Sunday buffet!

Ben Odynski

A delicious - daily fresh made - infusion of taste. The food is very healthy and your children will love it. Located on East Marine Drive Surrey side of the Street - on a building in Semihamo Reservation land. Offers light meals and Tapas Inspired by Street Food of India. Where everyday between 14:00 to 17:00 hours is happy hour. Look for specials. Gluten, and vegan options available. Such as: All day breakfast: Seasonal salad bowls: currently N/A watermelon, cucumber, spinach, feta and pecans. Pineapple with chicken, mixed mint and walnuts. Strawberry with quinoa, mixed with greens, cucumber and walnuts. Orange with Apple, cucumber, greens, spinach and mint. Egg wrap with Turkey, spinach, tomatoes, cheese and hash browns. Paranta with scrambled eggs French toast rolls. Open grilled sandwich, masala chai tea with vegetables and pakoras. Belgian waffles , Combo deals _ with soup of the day. Coffee or tea. Other drinks. An assortment of Fresh baked scones and mini loaves. Samosas, Bombay masala toast: Chick of fillings; butter chicken, falafel, chilli paper. Naanza: a pizza using Indian naan bread as a base. Chilli chicken or paper (Indian cheese). The delightful decor and beautiful ambience couple with the majestic natural light coming through the windows overlooking the ocean makes for a wonderful natural entertainment while waiting for the delicious meals prepared with much love and appreciation for the customer. there is a sense of tranquility and happiness that captivates the cafe. I have been here many times and I am always made feel welcome by all team members who take pride in assisting the customers. My favorite: chickpeas, samosas, and latte. The place is kept extremely clean and organized, in absolute compliance with the British Columbia health guidelines. Operation hours: Tuesday, Wednesday: Closed. Thursday to Monday: open 10:00 to 17:00 hours. Is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair accessible entrance. There is free customers parking available in front of the cafe. Also, pay parking available around the back of the building. You would love it here. Shop local. Thus, empowering local business.

Really like it, so nice! Great view, fresh food.

Visited this place 4 times in the last couple months. The first time blew me away. It’s not the usual cafe as it’s more of a fusion indian cafe, which was great if you’re looking for something extraordinary. The location is great, right by the beach and the decor is adorable; shabby chic meets bohemian/ Indian. The staff seem to by shy. This place could be great. Kind of hit or miss for me. For example: 1) had the strawberry salad and once it was wonderful, next time it was too spicy, 2) I ordered the banana loaf one time it was perfect, second time it was burnt, chewy and tasted like someone had handled it with perfumed cream on their hands. 3) ordered the chai latte, first time it was made correctly as a latte, last two times it was made more as a steeped tea with warm milk, no foam... but still paid the full price. I personally won’t be going back unfortunately because of the inconsistency and high prices. This place has a lot of potential to be really great, with some quality control or if all of the staff were on the same page. It’s worth trying trying though ????

A must visit hidden gem. Visually appealing ambience. Great place to stop by for a coffee and an entremet.

Great service and nice atmosphere. You can taste home made genuine Indian food here.

A peaceful, cozy cafe - hands down the best spot by the beach! Fits whatever vibe you're going for, be it a work weekday, catching up over coffee, or a hearty brunch. The desserts are a must (you'll know when you see them), but do also try the savouries from the Indian fusion menu. A hidden gem!

Mick Singh

Lovely spot with a peaceful views to enjoy your meals, must recommended and happy serving faces!

Went here for the first time today. We couldn't dine inside, but the food and service was excellent. Will definitely go again!

Pete_ 1090R

Worst experience I've had in a coffee shop.

Guy Duperreault

Great small place with an excellent view. The lattes we had -- almond milk pumpkin spice and cardamom turmeric were excellent. I would have liked a bigger tea selection, hence the less than 5 stars. The food looked good and the menu is interesting but we didn't eat during this visit. We will go back another day.

Welcome to the neighborhood. The "Verandah Café by the Beach" is now open. This Café has a warm, trendy décor with comfortable seating. The view, overlooking Semiahmoo Bay is wonderful. Your new venture on East Beach in White Rock, is the fresh energy this area needs. Welcome and wishing you all the best. Great verandah delights can be found for lunch and we will be back for an afternoon tea. Thanks .....

Nice little place that folks are discovering. Next building to Washington Avenue Grill, so people might miss it, not being right on the sidewalk. Great hot drinks. Licensed. Great snacks with an Indian accent. I love the butter chicken Naanza.

Alan Moulton

My daughter and I dropped in for a coffee.... must say my latte was excellent. Great place for a coffee / snack after walking the dog on the beach.

Christopher Parzyck

Great seafood and a very nice view of the beach. Portions are large, 3 dishes was enough for 4 people.

J Toor

This place is super cute. My cousin hosted her baby shower at this place I had no idea this little Cafe existed. It's located right beside Washington Avenue grill. They have the cutest atmosphere lots of options for food and drinks. Definitely worth checking out if your in white rock.

Cosmic Pig

refused to allow my 76 year old wife to use the washroom. Customer or not, common courtesy is absent.

The coffee shop is very beautiful, good view to stay and the food is delicious :)

This is the best cafe ever! If you are in white rock and want a walk along the ocean you have to come here. Very affordable, beautiful space, accommodating staff, and the BEST samosas and pakoras you will ever have. All fresh and just a wonderful space to hang out in. Perfect to grab a coffee and walk along the ocean for the evening.

Essie Zacz

Been dying to try this peaceful place ever since I peeked through the windows walking my dog on the beach... I have been blown away! A heavenly little slice of India's tastiest street food, my husband and I got a lunch we won't be forgetting! Their coffee is perfect and smooth. Way too excited to dig in to take pictures of the food, I chowed down on the Paneer Kathi Roll and felt transported to the southern hemisphere, the salad that came with it was actually my absolute favourite part of the whole meal. We shared the Samosa Salad and my husband got the Chicken Masala open faced sandwich which he said was the most perfectly balanced meal. We can't wait to return for another little date on the water!

Don Bandika

Latte, Cappuccino and Hot chocolate. The blueberry-lemon and the banana-chocolate chip muffins unfortunately couldn't survive long enough for the picture.

pulled a perfect tasting espresso shot,

Excellent ambience. Cafe on beach side. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Bit of a hidden gem on the white rock strip. Nice clean place with great food and coffee. Their Masala Chai is pretty tasty too! Worth the trip to the end of the beach. Prices reflect the location but this is the only place I've found on the strip that makes good coffee.

Adam Woodhouse

Taran Kh

Beautiful location and cute chic interior. Service & cappuccinos were just okay. Would return for the decor alone though :)

Frieda Lauw

SUPER cute little place. The outside is unsuspecting, but once you get past the entrance lobby/walkway, you're transported into a pastel and beachy cafe getaway.

Simi Dhaliwal

Coffee great, samosa salad below average!

Good food, nice decor friendly staff, reasonable pricing. Definitely recommend this place for a nice relaxing brunch. Only negative I see is there is limited window seating for two separate parties at most. Other than that it's fantastic

Amrit Mundy

Charming cafe with a lovely ambience and a beautiful, peaceful view. Great for a quiet catch up with friends.

Francesco Singh

Very nice decor, good coffee. They have Indian food as well

Linda Stuone

We have been to this restaurant twice in the past couple of months. Each time we have shared several items on the menu and we find the food to be freshly prepared and delicious. The service is always friendly and the restaurant is clean and charmingly decorated.

aprameya rao

A nice place with a decent view. We had a muffin which was nice and the coffee was okay. It's a better stop option than a starbucks.

Edwina Jeffrey

Very tasty. Good place for the view and enjoy special coffee or tea and pastry too!

Rachel Ponte

First time and the food was amazing! I got the chicken masala open faced sandwich and was blown away by all the flavour! Super friendly and welcoming staff! Fries are crispy and salty! Amazing view of the ocean! I will be coming back for sure!

Val Hun

First time visiting this spot! Super cute decor and good food & drinks!

Angie Braun

Pleasant atmosphere. The coconut pineapple loaf was yummy.

Angela Buehrle

What a gem by the sea! The food is a delicious hybrid of Indian and European. I had the Bombay Masala Toast with chilli paneer (essentially a spicy panini) and the strawberry salad. The kids devoured French toast wraps filled with nutella and banana. As if the food wasn't enough, the owners are absolutely lovely!

Yen Ma

I had the worst cafe experience ever! I ordered a cup of tea. It came to $4.20. What a rip off! No wonder the drink menu had no prices. They want you to order without knowing the price. Once the order is registered on the till, it is too late to refuse it. If the tea is that expensive, then I would hate to see the prices of the desserts. I could've gone to a Starbucks to buy something of better quality with the same price. I even recognized the brand of tea they gave me. It is really cheap when sold in a store. So the markup for a cup of tea shouldn't be that extraordinarily high. Plus the music in there was so high that I couldn't even settle down to read. I would never come back!

This place looks like a great place. But im sure we've all heard 1 to many times looks can ultimately be deceiving. I walked into the cafe today around 10 am and asked to use the washroom. The ladies said they diddn't have a public washroom. I mean i dont think i look like a bum or anything but i get it. So i said hey ill buy something to eat, I just really need to use the washroom. The employee contiunued to say they have no public washroom even if i get food. At this point i see that they do have a public wash room and its cleary stated so the public can use. The employee proceeded to say this is what the owner/manger tells the, to say. I would not recommend my enemy to go there. Hope this was useful.

The staff (owner?) is very friendly and explains very well the food. This is not your typical “ East Indian “ Restaurant, which we have so many in Surrey and Vancouver. The ambiance is interesting and the view towards the ocean pleasant. Had for the first time a “Indian Pizza” with a very tasty spicy chicken on a flat bread, which I can highly recommend. Prices are reasonable and the service is competent and timely.
