Nice local spot
Great Foods excellent service Pleasant environment would definitely eat there again
If you want a coffee refill here be prepared. Nobody brings around a carafe. There is no urn from which you can pour yourself one. Never having been here before I foolishly go to the counter and ask for a refill. I am told that I must join the order line of several people who have just come in. As the line is long I return to my table sans coffee. After a few minutes I see the line is smaller so I wait I the line. I discover that $30 for two does not get you a free refill. $1.05 poorer I take my coffee. I'm told I have to wait because the people in line complain about cutting in. I'll let others here tell you about the positives. I'd come back if it weren't for the inconsideration in this simple matter.
Great staff and very delicious sandwiches! Just wished they had good wifi :)
Fresh baked good and good sandwiches, good place for coffee or brunch.
Yummy goodies!
Cosy after a cold hike, and there was some yummy chocolate sauce on that hot chocolate! Easy to walk down to the water from there too. I'd like to go back and try the fruit pie!
Decent food...logistical nightmare. Seat yourself and other than the food brought to you it's a "figure it out for yourself" place. No free refills for coffee and you have to stand in line again to even do that. Cutlery housed in filthy trays dried with spilled coffee and caked on crumbs of many kinds and colors...so I opted for disposable instead. Asked for peanut butter for my toast but nope, don't have it. Coffee condiments stored by the front door if you can manage to squeeze through the people in line waiting to order. Water there also but room temperature. Main meal was passable but definitely not worth the price or inconvenience. It has potential but too many simple and key components missing...fix those and I'd consider a different rating.
Lovely staff and delicious food
Outstanding food, make sure you try the pie!
Always an amazing experience! Delicious food all made in house friendly staff relaxed atmosphere. A real ‘real home from home’! Just remember, they close at 4 PM.
The bread is unbelievable. The atmosphere is cozy. Not for no-carbers or gluten-free types.
Good place for various pies with coffe.
Great food. Love the rainbow bread!
I tried the mac and cheese and it was amazing! The service was good and fast. My only suggestion is that I think it would be much easier for the servers if they gave out numbers when food is ordered so they don't have to shout names. :)
Love this place. Just a little pricey
yummy pie
Really good bread
Wow... The veggie sandwich was insanely good ????
Breakfast was excellent!
Only thing on menu fried is eggs, fresh baked goodies daily very polite ,hard working staff
Great brunch and lunch options. Baked goods fresh every day with daily changing soup options. Kids options also available.
I had a lovely brunch here over the weekend. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, so lines go rather quickly. The food was comforting and delicious - a lovely Benny and breakfast sandwich. Everything tasted really fresh and homemade, and portions were huge. There appears to be a bunch of baked good as well, but two mains between two people was enough food. The servers were really nice and helpful.
Wonderful sandwiches, relatively friendly staff. Slightly overpriced for lunch but truly is worth it!
It was a very nice place for us so far but from today on it won’t be anymore. We ordered a soup and we didn’t like the taste of it. Telling so to the staff, she took it and rudely said you need to pay for another one without trying to make us satisfied by giving another soup. She threw it out and we were expecting some one to come and make it up but strangely she didn’t come to our table even to apologize!
UPDATE: The Bakehouse offered me a fresh pie, which I picked up today, to make up for the one I complained about because its pastry was raw. The new pie is delicious, and the pastry is not raw. Thank you, Kate at The Bakehouse! Yesterday, I purchased a Raspberry-Rhubarb pie for $27. The filling was delicious, but the pastry shell was not fully baked. Raw dough in the edging and raw bottom. It's odd that a so-called professional bakery charging $27 for a pie can't be bothered to partially pre-bake its pastry shells before adding the filling. I gave up on the pastry crust and ate the filling, but I threw out 1/4 of the pie because I was so angry about the pastry and didn't want it to upset my stomach. And, one of its longtime customers was not wearing a mask, even though he wasn't eating. His name is Dennis. More than once, I had to move away from him. Dennis just doesn't understand the concept of wearing a mask during COVID-19.
Nice comfort food. Great for kids too.
Good, real food. Leave your low carb diet at the door.
Just waited 25 minutes for a grilled sandwich which needs 5 minutes grill time, asked once why it's taking too long and they said it's in the grill, asked second time after ten minutes and this time she came with my order and said just came out, and you guess what it was cold inside. People make mistakes and it's ok but you don't need to lie just apologize respectfully.
Fresh ingredients cooked with care and love. Really enjoyed brunch today at the Bakehouse in Dundrave Village. A local rustic cafe/restaurant with great coffee and a wide range of breakfast and brunch options. I enjoyed the Farmhouse brunch plate today which included 2 perfectly poached eggs , a turkey sausage, baked potatoes????and half a carrot muffin on the side (which I thought was a really nice touch). Can't wait to go back and try the baked Brie ???? and their paninis ????
We made a quick stop for a small breakfast at the Bakehouse. The place is roomy with a nice open kitchen and a good menu, however the food was very average, and there was no uplifting spirit that you expect in a cafe. The place was boring with no charm. I love stopping at a cafe not only to get a drink, but to start my day with a splash of joy. With 5 people that we noticed working around the shop, the tables were not cleaned and until we asked them no one came by to wipe our table. I would have probably enjoyed picking up a small bite and coffee from any Starbucks in the area a lot more. I hope the owner takes my review in a constructive way and revisit their service and menu. This is a nice location and not much of competition around, and they can make it thrive for themselves and people visiting this place.
This place is great. I was on vacation in Vancouver and this café was the unofficial sponsor of my trip. Their food is really good and the service is really friendly. There is such a diverse sweets menu, I didn't have time to try them all!
Enjoy good old-fashioned home baking? Well come and enjoy a feast of delights, not only in baking, but homemade soups, pies, sandwiches. Even rainbow bread for kids. Extensive menu, art for sale on the wall, natural wood everywhere, comfy seats and food to satisfy every palate. My fav is half healthy hot cereal with cold milk and maple syrup. Has cranberries, flax and healthy oats and TLC. And the best cranberry scones in Vancouver, in my opinion. Try for yourself!
Reasonable place to have breakfast and talk with people. when you have scones, you probably need jams. Coffee is great. But not gonna visit again.
Fantastic sandwiches and baked goods. A must visit if in the area.
Great baked goods
No outlets, no wifi, mediocre espresso
Be prepared for a long wait, this place is popular and because everyone orders from the main counter it takes time. The wait is worth it however as the food is delicious and staff are friendly.
Very good!Delicious????????
Tasty treats !
Amazing muffins
Lots of goodies to choose from. Great spot for breakfast/brunch.
Delicious, home baked goods. Mmmmm
Good muffin and great coffee.
Great pie! It is not as sugary as some of the other pie companies.
Delicious, beautiful! Perfect breakfast, quick or slow. We'll be back for sure!
We buy Christmas cake and Panettone from this bakery. After walking along Marine Dr. to decide where we should have lunch, we ended up here because of the fruit pies on display. I couldn’t decide between a turkey sandwich and chicken pot pie. The server recommended the pot pie. I ordered mine with a side salad. Well, they have redefined chicken pot pie. I’m used to seeing pot pies that look like the content was heated so well that it spilled outside the bowl making the pie/croissant pastry stick to the bowl. The pastry on this one was not pie/croissant like, it is more like a flaky cookie lid on top of the soup bowl – the kind of dish you see from a sandwich shop with no real kitchen. The taste of the “chicken soup” was fine, there were no big chunks of chicken, just bits and pieces cut up so small that it was hard to get the impression that I was really eating a chicken pot pie. The consistency was fine, not too soupy. We’ve tasted better though. Turkey sandwich next time or the pub.
Came in for breakfast. While in line and while eating breakfast we noticed that they ask everyone for phone number because of covid. We are construction guys. We are the only one that were not asked. Why is that?.
We make the Bakehouse a mid-stop on our Saturday seawall walks. We always find the service friendly and welcoming. We are particularly fond of the Eggs Benny, the muffins and the coffee. The staff's hard work is evident in their delicious food and clean establishment. Their sense of humour is evident when they pull a 'rubber chicken' to tell their staff that your order is ready. Great place! Lovely people. Good food.
It is my Favourite located in the rustic settings of Dundarave village home made Canadian style cooking, freshly baked breads, pies are awesome. It is very cosy restaurant has the best food. Great family place for brunch or lunch. Do not forget to try fresh baked sourdough bread & cinnamon buns.It is great place to eat regularly because they have many choices, you never bored.
I didn’t like the turkey sausage. And it was dry, But I liked the good vibes in there. Nice paintings on the wall.
Gotta love the food. Homemade cooking, fresh baked bread and goodies plus much more
Good food and cosy environment.. Often busy and not the quickest service. Expect to bus the last persons table if you want to sit in
Pricey coffee.
Food was good but they have the door open so my moand I were cold....
Eggs Benedict was great, hollandaise sauce was amazing
Brunch menu was ok, the Benedict sauce lacks flavour. Coffee was great.
Nice cozy atmosphere. Slightly slow service depending on how full the place is. Overall very good food and polite staff.
Good place to stop by and have a quick bite. Good soups, sandwiches and cakes.
Never had a bad experience here! The food is delicious, all the baked goods are fresh and delicious, everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is so warm! I go here every time I go to Vancouver, and no trip is complete without it. Love this place!
Tasty veggie chili and veggie panini
Fabulous, baked, in house scones. I like the one with raisins, even tho I usually don't like raisins. Coffee also great. Light roast. Refills $1. Outdoor seating as well as indoor. Lovely place. Lovely owners.
My number one go-to bakery.
......just heavenly!!
Nice staff. Cozy and filled with friends and families. I got the grilled breakfast sandwich $9.50, add $1 for tomato and lettuce. Good sandwich size and ingredients. Tasty bread! Housemade herb sourdough. Only downside was they had single-use takeaway cups as their water glasses and they only have one trash bin for everything, no recycling and compost. It could be temporary, but if permanent, I didn't agree with that. Thx!
Love the place and really good service despite all that COVID has brought to that industry. Congratulations for having a lovely place for everyone!
Fresh baked goods for breakfast and lunch with a relaxed Sunday morning atmosphere. This is a busy spot for good reason. Excellent food made fresh daily.
???? ????
Good selection!
This beautiful and clean bakery looks like a heaven . We always visit the bakery in the morning for Muffin and hot drink. Muffins are well baked and decorated.(which makes it really hard to choose only one. Staff also are very welcoming and you will recieved 5 star attention and help from them all the time. I highely recomend this bakery .
Wonderful sandwiches and soups. It is very friendly and casual--a great place to pop in fir a treat, too.
Delicious food and great service.
Possibly the best carrot muffin I've ever had
Great bake goods and drinks.
Had the dog's breakfast which is a little cheaper between 8-11. Eggs, vegetable, sausage scramble, fried potatos, and toasted baked bread. The toast was amazing with butter and jam ✌️ Also had pumpkin cake which I thought was carrot at first and loved it. The dark roast coffee was also very nice here.
Good food. Try the breakfast special.
Great food
Last stop before heading back to the states and I was not disappointed. Really cool watching them hand make everything too!
Everything is AMAZING! ❤️❤️❤️
Amazing place. Great food and relaxing ambience.
Holy moly their sandwiches are amazing. Fresh bread, pastries....yum! Highly recommended
The best sandwichs in West Van! I love their fresh bakes pastries too
Nice and Friendly.
If you want to have a fantastic sandwich and soup that is entirely homemade with bread that is ultra fresh and finish it off with a dessert to die for this is the place to come. One of West Vancouver is little hidden GEMS!
Farmhouse decor, plenty of space and not too busy. Coffee was fine but the cinnamon roll was very dry.
We went there for brunch and couldn’t get more disappointed. We went there for the high rating, but the potato was stale, the hollandaise sauce was below average, the toast was mediocre. It was the second worst benny I had in Vancouver. Only upside about this place was the friendly and nice staff. I, however, don’t understand if they don’t serve you, what the tip is for.
A solid quality brunch and lunch spots. A favorite for weekend breakfasts in West Van.
Friendly service, great tasty food, lots of healthy choices on menu. Love this place for roadtrip on weekends.
Very delicious and very helpful staff
I arrived at The Bakehouse at around 3:40 pm a few weekends ago with my dad and saw one woman finishing up outdoors and a staff member putting chairs away, etc. When we approached, the staff member mentioned that they closed at 3:00 pm. It was my dads birthday, and he loves their raisin scones, so I asked if they had any left in the hopes we could snag one or two. I mentioned we came by for a pastry and coffee. Even though they were closed, they asked us to come inside, and gave us both a hot coffee and two pastries on them! Regardless of my dads birthday, they offered complimentary pastries within 1 minute of our arrival. The service was excellent and made our day. They didnt have the raisin scones but our muffin and raisin pastry were tasty. I have been going to The Bakehouse for years, but this added to my overall great opinion of them!
Lovely
My coworkers and I always get a friendly smile and prompt service when we come here. Great sandwiches with fresh baked bread! And if you like pie, its a must!
Good food nice place
Good food
Awesome breakfast and lunch, very friendly staff and extremely well priced!
The Adult Mac n Cheese was horrible...Too greasy and watery! Very bland so I had to put so much salt in it. I could not eat more than half of it cause it was too greasy and oily, It was disgusting so I decided to let one of the employees that this is not how it supposed to be and she said "YEAAA, ITS JUST TOO CHEESY" So I left the plate on the counter and left. Very Disappointed in Management for poor customer service
This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. It's homemade, delicious and at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend to anyone. My only issue is their staffing. Every time I have visited, there is always a long line up out the door - which is understandable as it's popular, but when you go inside there is always a few girls not working and just chatting. It's good the bakehouse hires a lot of staff, I just feel like maybe they would be better with less as then others might be more efficient and faster.
Amazing bakery in Dundarave, West Van. Great way to start a Sunday!
The bread and soup are so delicious.
Good food and friendly staff; unfortunately it's in West Van
Great half sandwich and home made beef and barley soup and ate outside at a table for two.
The sandwiches are amazing, I think mostly because of the house made bread.... My favourite is the roast beef, soooo good!
Was a good breakfast great atmosphere
Lovely spot. Busy but there was space and good service. The food was great. Had the boccocini panini and the sour cherry pie. Very tasty.
Food was ok but the service was a little slow and it's always crowded / noisy. The staff seem stressed the few times we went for breakfast.
Damn delicious, gotta try that breakfast sandwhich
very nice atmosphere ,good staff , great brunch ,loved the pie .
So delicious! Best service, and the most amazing freshly baked goods.
Found this gem of a spot on our Vancouver trip. We absolutely love it! Have gone back multiple times! Food is amazing, desserts are absolutely mouth-watering and service is always on point! Will recommend this place to everyone!
Delicious breakfast fresh bread Clean clean best customer service Strongly recommended
I came here once and always wanted to come for more food, always missed their closing time by 5 mins...
Everything is made in house. Everything is delicious and the pie is the best pie I have ever had! Way better then savoury island pies and cheaper.
Perfect brunch ,amazing
This is a nice breakfast place that opens early in the Dundarave neighbourhood. In addition to being able to grab and go, they offer quite a bit of inside and (for now) outside seating. They serve small baked goods, pies and other desserts, and more substantial breakfasts and sandwiches. Everything we had was tasty. If I lived in the area, I would make this a regular weekend destination. But I’m my case, it was a perfect stop on the way to Whistler. I’m addition to the food, they were selling prints and paintings of Vancouver scenes by local artists. I love seeing that community aspect in cafes and shops.
Wonderful food and service
Good food; friendly service.
Great food. Adequate staff
Pecan square is dense
I used to live very close to this place, and had to move. But anytime I'm close by, I try to drop by for their grilled chicken sandwich and grilled cheese sandwich. They make their own bread and it is the star of their sandwiches, you can't get anything like them anywhere else. All their pastries are baked fresh everyday, and their coffee is decent as well. You can tell that the employees there love their jobs, they always have a smiling face.
Great pies????
This place has great pies.
Nice lunch menu variety, competitive prices, excellent quality, plus their pasties and sweets are to die for! ????????
soooooo good
