This place actually roasts their own coffee beans, giving their coffee a flavour that serves up a really unique experience. A great locally owned and operated location.

Finally got to try this place out ... The verdict is, I was very pleasantly surprised. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was just as good. I had a Cappuccino and my GF had I believe "devils Mocha" (hot chocolate with 2 espresso shots in it) They have games or cards to play if you wanna just chill. The best way to describe this place is Perks from the show Friends.... It's somewhere I can see myself going on a regular basis to just hang out and have a good cup of coffee.... 5 stars people!!!

My wife and family love this place in the Heart of Historic Welland . The atmosphere is very welcoming and unhurried. The coffee fantastic and the food is very good and affordable. The staff is always friendly and treat there guests very well. My wife and her friend feel very comfortable and relaxed at this place thanks. plus as a bonus a fantastic Bakery is next door. Don't let the street fool you there is lots of parking out back. You are also minute walk to some of Welland History of A canal Town. Highly recommended a great addition to Welland! Love the Murual.

Made the 20 minute drive from the Niagara Falls area to try this restaurant tonight, and I wasn't disappointed at all! My wife had the turkey burger and loved it! I had the chicken and corn bread pancakes and loved it! We will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

If I could give this place an extra star I would. Ever revolving menu of delicious and creative dishes, coffee roasted in house, inviting atmosphere. The cherry on top? The incredible staff who are friendly and go out their way to make sure you are happy and comfortable. This quickly became my home away from home. Lucas (the owner) goes above and beyond to make you feel like family and has worked hard to ensure The Back Sheep is not only a great local business but also a pillar in the community. Black Sheep is easily the best thing to happen to Welland since the first canal!

It is hard to find a great coffee shop when I’m traveling for work and I’m so stoked I found this place. If you’re a person who goes to Tim Hortons or Starbucks often that is fine, but I beg you to come here and get a real espresso or latte.

This place is great. The service js excellent and friendly and go out of their way to help you. They are knowledgeable and experienced about their product and will answer your questions about their coffee. It is fresh roasted coffee which makes a big difference in the flavor. They also have a quick serve menu for now but normally have full service. I highly recommend Black Sheep lounge for your coffee needs and a unique experience. (They make a really good Mocha)

They have introduced breakfast! And it is so incredibly good. Best french toast in the Niagara region. Hands down. The bacon is so unique and delicious, thick cut. And the poached eggs with avocado toast had a delicious pesto flavor and was out of this world. Coffee is always on point as usual too. I left feeling energized.

'A pleasant surprise in the city.' After previewing investment properties in Welland, I needed a quick pick up before heading back to Toronto. I checked for 'espresso near me' on Google and found Black Sheep. Located right beside the Canal, I had no expectations of this cafe. As I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendly baristas and was pleasantly surprised by the space with its rustic & homey decor. A voluminous space with a section where a small band could play in the back (of course once Covid is done). Filled with its merchandise of Black Sheep gear, coffee accessories, and table lined house roasted coffee beans. I ordered a double espresso curious as to how their coffee would taste. Perfection. Thick crema, not too hot and only a hint of bitterness that normally accompanies the taste of espressos. Typically I would add a splash of milk to cut the bitterness, but I figured I'd forego the milk to really taste the espresso. No milk needed for this espresso. Local residents living in Welland are lucky to have a cafe like this. Most smaller towns/cities have the staple Tim Hortons or that 1 Starbucks, but it's not often that you have an independent cafe with diligent coffee enthusiasts that carefully craft a good espresso. Travelling through Welland, if you're looking for a great coffee/espresso, a quick bite, and welcoming greeting, do visit and support this local cafe. Thanks for the great experience ???????????? Definitely the Black Sheep in a world filled with bland and souless coffee shops ????????

Provides a food menu with a wide variety of options. Vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore, the black sheep lounge has you covered. They serve a great coffee in whatever style you prefer. I enjoyed the americano and the cauliflower bbq tacos. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a properly made coffee, or a meal that is a little off the beaten path. I will be back to enjoy some live entertainment which is offered frequently.

I struggle to find any complaint about this place. The staff is great, the atmosphere is incredible, and they are constantly providing us with new and exciting dishes to try. This is one place in Welland that I feel confident in recommending to my out of town friends, and so far I’ve received nothing but praise for this recommendation.

The food is delicious. The atmosphere is inviting. I love all the paintings they hang for sale around the restaurant. They also have an extensive vegetarian menu. Usually most restaurants have one or two vegetarian dishes that are mediocre. The Black Sheep lounge makes vegetarian dishes I want to eat and I'm not even a vegetarian. My sister is and she had mushroom and leek pot pie that was in a creamy cheese sauce. She loved it. I've also had their pulled turkey chili that was so good and unlike any chili I've ever tasted. The coffee is great too. I'm very happy I found this place.

The service was absolutely fabulous! Was greeted by the owner with a warm smile and friendly conversation. I was surprised at how laid back and relaxed the vibe is in the place. There was a bit of a wait to get my tea and sandwich, but seeing as it's loose leaf tea it took just the right amount of time, any sooner and id would have been weak, any longer it would be to strong; essentially the wait made the perfect tea and reminds me that once upon a time people actually enjoyed talking with one anither. I had the falafel sandwich and it was to die for! Seriously the best thing i can remember eatting for months!!! I thought the prices were fair and I couldn't recommend the place more highly, i will certainly be going back first chance i get!

Decided to visit while meeting up with a family member, service was awful and confusing (some times we’d be checked on, others I’d have to get up and wait in line ?). My coffee tasted off and the cream was spoiled, when poured into my coffee it was disgusting. The person working told me it was just the acidity of the coffee but no, that was straight up expired cream. Overall embarrassed that I invited someone to meet up here. Not again! And the prices are too high for what you get.

Food was excellent service was great. Items for sale based on coffee stuff was good as well. Got myself a self drip coffee with filters. Will be back soon. Ty Black Sheep. Pancakes were unreal super yummy. Steak and eggs were incredible steak was perfect!!!!!

Stopped in for lunch ( I only have a half hour) and was pleasantly surprised by the Friendly staff and what to date looks to be the best Taco salad I have ever had! Definitely gonna come back and try the coffee.

The breakfast was skimpy for $12.99 ..they offer 2 meats but you would think youre getting 2 pieces of meat each but no... you get one slice of each..the homefries were great but very sparce in quantity and we had to ask for everything talking servicewise..disappointing... and it left me running to the washroom twice giving me a Royal Flush so to speak.P.s; the menu is at the door to order.Never to return

First time going Had the Devil mocha was a very tasty treat for a Saturday morning !! Great service definitely be back
