So cozy! Nice decor and super comfortable. Visited in a snowing day how perfect to have a hot soup. Located in side a small building on 2nd floor so you need to go in side the building and go upstairs.
Lots of vegan options, I wouldn't study here as theres no outlets and tables are small. Very cozy, its in a beautiful old atrium building in uptown.
Sweet little place with friendly and cheerful staff. Would return again for a change in atmosphere to the usual King Street coffeeshops.
Nice coffee, very few food options. The location isnt great. Update: coffee still great. Kimchi salad options are pretty cool. There are now places outside the building to sit. Lots of milk alternatives! COVID19 safe. Keep up the great work!
Kiki is amazing! This place has the best vanilla latte, scrumptious muffins - all around delicious! Highly recommended.
Great coffee! Excellent service. Recommended! ????
I've been here multiple times now for the last few months. Aroma Cafe is definitely one of my favourite places to go to in Waterloo. Going in there feels so cozy and warm all the time, and the people behind the counter always makes sure you feel welcomed. Their coffee and food tastes fantastic and I think that their decaf coffee is the best.
Amazing breakfast sandwiches, wonderful service and 100% community oriented always finding ways to show care by raising funds and being a force for good, one coffee at a time.
By far my favourite cafe in the city. I've introduced a number of friends to Aroma who've also all spoken highly of it and wanted to return. The coffee is amazing (and they roast it themselves!), my fav is the Tarrazu.
Everything is made with so much love! Monica, Jeff, and Tiffany really care about their coffee, from purchasing to roasting to brewing to pouring. Treat yourself to all kinds of baked goodies and light fare while there, and grab some kimchi to take home and be happy. They've got KW's oldest coffee roaster too! Ask them about its amazing motor assembly!
Wonderful staff, excellent hot chocolate. Thank you for ticking off one more gift with my purchase of a unique pottery tumbler.
Love their coffee, London Fog and their scenes are homemade and the best in town. Highly recommended!!
This is my go to Cafe to purchase their coffee that is roasted on the premises. My personal favourite is their house blend. It has a smooth full bodied flavour. They also have a great selection of food so stop in for lunch or morning treat.
Great service and the best grilled-cheese-and-kimchi sandwiches anywhere.
The soup here is always varied, and quite fantastic. The paninis are also quite filling and appetizing. All in all; comes highly reccomended. :)
Love it. Great cinnamon buns. Great service.
Perfect lattes, knowledgeable staff, and yummy vegan cinnamon buns as well as croissants! I'm looking forward to trying the Mexican medium roast beans at home. Update/edit: The staff are so sweet! They manage busy days very well. On the days I have had my coffee at the café I have noticed that there are many regulars chatting with staff. They seem to have a community of dedicated customers (myself included!) which should tell you everything you need to know about Aroma. Very grateful that they have been delivering coffee since the pandemic began ☺️
A little charming place in town. Enjoyed their cappuccino and sandwich. Must try.
Great place!
This tiny coffee shop is one of Waterloo's hidden jewel. A small one too, don't come here in large groups. Between the great coffee selection, the great service and the just wonderful food, I found myself coming back again and again. I recommend you give it a try, especially if you're vegetarian.
Very nice people, good food, good atmosphere.
Delicious breakfast sandwich! Like that they have vegan and vegetarian options. Also they have quality coffee and good WiFi. The seating area is small but spread through out the atrium. A hidden uptown Waterloo gem. Nice flowers on the tables.
Nice little place. Not much seating so don't go with a bit group.
Tasty food. Great service. Lovely space
Really expensive and not really worth the extra money. Considering how many good coffee shops there are in the area, I don't know how this one is still open. Thought it would be top notch, in reality only the price reflected that. No sweetener, either, just sugar. I would go elsewhere for sure.
When we first moved into the uptown area, I avoided Aroma thinking it only had the little bistro tables to sit at. I enjoy working on my laptop in the mornings so I frequented another coffee shop nearby. But recently one of my favourite employees left that coffee shop and went to Aroma. I promised to come by and check it out. I'm glad I did. First, they have some very comfortable tables right in the shop for me to work from. Kiki, the owner made a point of knowing my name on the first visit and hasn't forgotten it since - greeting me by name every time. The atmosphere is great. It's a nice temperature to sit. The other coffee shop I frequented is kept very cold in the summer - making it almost too uncomfortable to sit for any length of time. They play upbeat lively music. And even have some games available for people to use while here. They roast their own coffee and have a great selection of flavours. My only SLIGHTLY negative critique would be that the coffee tends to be on the bitter side. I drink mostly black coffee. Some cream in the coffee helps take the edge off. But like everything, your experience may differ. As for food, I don't eat much there but the croissants are fresh and buttery. I recommend you check them out. Tell Kiki that Curtis sent you. :)
The bibimbap was fantastic ♥️ Coffee was on-point. Hot sauce could be pack more punch ???? Staff are super friendly ???? Great value for money????Love the cozy environment. I'll be back.
My very favourite coffee and muffin place. Great for light lunches and a nice place to meet friends, sip a latte and chat.. A fantastic little oasis in the middle of the city.
First time here. Will definitely be back. Great staff: courteous, professional, fast, and friendly. And the coffee is delicious!
One of my favourite spots in uptown. Independently own cafe. Small, and personal. Friendly staff and really great coffee (among the very best in town). Their bibimbap is delicious.
Nice and cozy place with great drinks!
Loved it, excellent staff, decently priced. Good coffee, five star experience, yet it's just another run in the mill cafe. Still great.
Lovely place in uptown Waterloo, friendly staff, fresh and tasty coffee, I highly recommend it to those who like cozy coffee shops and appreciate good quality. Will definitely return.
Great atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food. The coffee and sourdough are both excellent!!
The food is made on the premises and are delicious. Very nice anc xozy
I should have taken a photo of the Breakfast BLT but it was so good that I finished it before I thought about writing this review! The reason for my trip to Aroma was to pick up a 12pc of vegan Christmas cookies and they are phenomenal. The service was excellent and the cafe has a wonderful, quaint atmosphere. Would highly recommend anyone in KW to visit and try a few things from their menu, I know I'll certainly be back! :)
This is a really great little place. Some fantastic people and products.
Super nice people. Nice food mix - Korean and other. Their salads are very good, as are the Korean dishes I have personally sampled. Coffee is not bad. The desserts for people needing gluten free food are amazing, and the owner goes out of the way to accommodate people with dietary needs. She gets it.
Best sour doe bread in town, baked fresh every day. Usually still warm when purchased. Friendly staff who remember your name. Five star all the way!
One of my most favourite lunch spots. This cozy cafe has the best homemade Korean-inspired dishes. Their bibimbop is fantastic. Excellent coffee. Grab some kimchi to go! Very genuine and friendly staff. I love it here :)
A sustainably minded cafe with excellent espresso drinks and a mean kimchi grilled cheese. The people who work here are lovely. I like that you can sit "outside" in the winter and it's still inside.
The smells are always wonderful. Cute little place.
Nice spot for coffee or lunch! Food was very good. Many choices for coffee, tea or cold drinks.
Great coffee choices & fresh made food; at table options with varied lightings for quiet intimacy or study, or sit at the bright red tables in the winter sun for fun in the little mall's mews. Original & personal not ruled by franchise standards.
Super cute cafe. They have amazing vegan croissants!
I love how cozy the atmosphere is. The staff are friendly too. I got their vegan croissant there and it was sooo goood!
They have discounts for students and tasty croissant with salmon!
Great coffee. I will come back often! Always happy to support local businesses.
Excellent service, tasty baked goods, and a nice atmosphere.
Great people and food: my Covid-take-away was rich/complex jasmine tea, hearty-not-heavy egg/avocado/bacon sandwich (freshly made) on excellent croissant, and a satisfying chocolate chip cookie that tasted like real food. Why are the pastries so good? Less sugar and more flavour is my guess.
My favourite place, .amazing service, food and drinks
Excellent veggie bowls (formerly bibim bap).
Good food, friendly staff, nice overall atmosphere
Good coffee and snacks, plus books to read while you're there
Great little spot. Love sitting in the atrium. I feel like I'm at an outdoor café when the weather is not great, which is often. I'm hooked on the flavoured coffee and the in house baked pastries. The breakfast and lunch sandwiches are really good too. Kiki the owner has added a lot of really great Korean dishes to the menu and recently I tried the pizza and it was awesome! Highly recommended:)
Coffee was pretty good. IMHO a little higher priced than other local roasters. Convenient location and friendly staff.
Intimate spot, fantastic coffee. They roast their own beans and are some of the best in town!
Fresh, delicious, healthy, friendly. So glad I found this place.
I just had a delicious roasted vegetable salad from Aroma. The Café is conveniently located across the street from my office and any time I pop over there for a bite the food is fresh, tasty and there is something new/different to try. I am GF and they always have something good to offer.
My favorite place. It is wonderful being a regular here, they make you feel so welcome!
Amazing lattes and though costing more than Tim Hortons, costs not as much as some other high end cafes.
Oh my goodness, everything I’ve had here is so good! From the sourdough bread, scones, muffins, danishes, cookies! And their in house roasted coffee is addictive! Every time I stop by I grab a bag to bring home with me (or lately I’ve been having it delivered).
Delicious homemade baked goods. I love all their cakes. Aesthetic, moist, and flavourful. I usually get a mocha or London fog. Coffee beans are roasted in house. Owners are friendly and extremely knowledgeable about coffee bean flavour profiles. I hope this cafe stays open forever. I have so many happy memories here.
Aroma has awesome coffee! My colleges often get at least one cup of coffe from here every day!
Cute little cafe. Loved the peach crumble and iced chai latte!
This was my first time here. I love that the ice cubes in their iced coffee is made from coffee, as to not dilute the drink! The smell of freshly roasted coffee beans is also always excellent.
Beautiful ambience, friendly atomosphere, good coffee, latte and food! Will visit again when in Waterloo.
Small local café with a consistently amazing selection of GF/vegan baked goods and super friendly staff
I went here hoping have a nice coffee and wrap. However when I got there technically was not open the seating area because of covid. Then they told me I could have my coffee outside they have tables. I ordered a cappuccino and and chicken Cesar wrap. The customer service was good coffee not over the top as other described. For me the annoying part is once I went out to sit and eat...well there are tables but from the other restaurants..so here I am with a hot coffee nowhere to sit...and then I eat my wrap and as you can see in the pic barely was any chicken....so not best experience
Lots of great vegan options! Great fair trade coffee and tea. Jerk tempeh wrap was super yummy.
Homely and cozy, well lit, a little cramped, fast and friendly service, good product and fair prices
I love the staff and the coziness! Their hot chocolate is the best in town.
Really nice service.the kimchi grain bowl looked really good and healthy - my wife is eating it.have to wait for my turn.
Very cute and such great service! Will definitely be back for more green tea lattes.
I arrived just before noon to have a salad. They didn’t have the ingredients. Ended up at Copper Branch
My favourite place...amazing service, food and drinks. BEST oat milk cappuccinos ever, and the baked goods are DELISH. The girls here always manage to cheer me up on any grey day. Hands down best cafe in town.
Excellent coffee and an interesting menu including some Korean dishes. The bibimbap is delicious.
The food here is well made and with really fresh high quality ingredients. I am not vegan but the vegan wrap was excellent and so is their breakfast sandwich. Tasted great and fresh. I do kinda wish that the food items here would just be priced $2 cheaper... Then I would for sure come here for lunch 2 x a week instead of just 1x every 2 weeks. Maybe I am just too poor compared to most of their regular customers lol.
Good place to sit, have a coffee and converse with friends
Great baked goods. A nice variety considering how petite this place is. Have been going here for a few months, yet to be dissapointed.
