Mocha’s are finicky and I have tried every mocha possible downtown. I recently moved close by and was looking for my regular coffee shop - found it! I felt so welcome the first day, the second day they recognized me again and had me join the loyalty program and now today is day 3 of shatterbox coffee for me and I love it (as I sip my mocha from there and write this!) thank you!!! :)

Never went.. but have a couple issues... 1) No address on the website. 2) Google Maps shows a picture of a cute little cafe house - which I assume is a previous location that no longer exists? I was hoping for a cute cafe as shown but found the Hudson building (Victoria Public Market) instead.

I remember I came here once and ordered a latte or a London fog with hemp milk and recieved a drink that was half dairy milk half hemp milk.. I was vegan n it was kinda expensive.. the experience still haunts me to this day..

Excellent drip coffee. Complex but well balanced flavours, and not over-priced. The breakfast bagel is great as well. But more than anything else the people I presume to be the owners seemed very nice and genuine and the server was extremely sweet and friendly as well. Warm and fuzzies all around, thanks guys!

Small, but reasonable collection of teas. Makes hot chocolate from a high quality powdered mix, but that's at best so-so. Few desserts. Reliable open wifi. Lots of space to work upstairs, and several power outlets.

Nice cafe tucked in a very low key and ambient market. If you are looking for a little pick-me-up and latte art, this place will do the trick. The prices are a bit premium, but the quality was there.

I've seen the other location in passing but I didn't know they had a location inside The Hudson. My boyfriend recommended this place when I threw my back out this morning so I'm very thankful he suggested giving this place a try. All of the staff were hospitable and took the time to bring the food to us (we're seated almost halfway in the public market), making sure we have all the condiments needed. With the food and my pain medication finally kicking in, I feel fresh as a daisy to conquer the day. ????

There are so many factors that go into an experience of a coffee shop and every little detail goes a long way. That being said, this is only my personal review and opinion and will highlight both good and bad. The reviews and raves about this place are what brought us to this cute little shop in the first place. Appearance was very cute and embodied a very unique and welcoming environment. The simplistic modern design and open, earthy layout was very homey and made me want to sit and stay a while. Upon first entry, we were not immediately greeted which, would have been okay if the baristas were in conversation with another customer at the counter but they were watching a video on the iPad at the front counter...once it was time to order, the barista who then greeted us and took our order was super nice and very friendly, she asked how our day was etc...i placed my order since I am pretty consistent: medium iced latte with honey and non dairy milk. I get this drink everytime (minus a London fog once a month). My partner on the other hand likes to switch it up so when we asked the baristas suggestion she said "well you could just get what she got." It's a pretty common thing for baristas to be nervous about suggesting drinks to customers so it's not necessarily a bad thing, but there was no "wow" factor about the process. So instead of getting a unique custom drink I just got my partner an iced late with hemp and hazelnut. Once we paid, tipped, and sat down in their cute little window seating (which was super cute and cozy! Great touch!!) We waited for our drinks to be done and watched as more people lined up for their morning cup. After about five minutes, I notices a gentleman walk out with his latte and was curious if ours were ready. Being that his was a latte and ours were a bit more complicated I figured it would be a little while longer but they were just sitting on the counter. We walked up to get our drinks and the barista said "oh, I thought you were outside, sorry." Again, nothing bad, I have two legs so it was no problem to stand up and get our coffees at the counter, but being that there were two of them, it would have added just a little more "wow" if they would have ran it out to us super quick and thanked us for coming in. Coffees in our hand and smiles on our faces, we walked out, super excited to try this coffee that has been raved about.....but when we tasted it....it was definitely not high quality and was distinctly overextracted leaving a sour, burnt-cheerio flavor behind without any of the warm, rich caramel notes of normal espresso. I've been a coffee shop manager for many years and have strived to stress the importance of brewing and extracting coffee and espresso and the craftsmanship that is required to deliver the best shots of espresso every time to all of my employees. Being a barista requires a very distinct set of skills and constant attention to detail. The air quality the day I came in was extremely humid, much different from the previous day and greatly affects how espresso is pulled. I'm betting that the humidity played a role in the quality of my drink, and would love to give this place another try. This review says nothing about any of their drinks other than the ones I walked out with, and hope that you give this place a try. It is never too late for growth and learning. Good luck!

It’s in a cute location and the coffee is pretty good! I wouldn’t get the chocolate chip cookie again as it was really hard and I like my cookies soft- however, I would return and try more of their products!

Shatterbox is awesome! The staff are so friendly and everything is so good. Vegan and gluten free options are great, no idea about drinks as I didn’t try any. The vegan option for the benny is really good! The chocolate espresso beans are delicious.

Maxwell House coffee in a tin is better than Shatterbox. What a bland, tasteless, watery coffee. I've never been so underwhelmed by a coffee shop. I'm so disappointed I spent any money here. ANY other coffee shop is better than this, including McDonald's coffee.

Because the Big Spoon company doesn’t have anywhere to review them…. How can you just give the delivery drivers containers that are not sealed and in no bag? How are you preventing the drivers from tampering with the food? Paying all this money for take away and you can’t even be bothered to place my order in a bag. It gets left outside by the driver…. It’s raining. Now my container is soaked and the food is cold. And don’t use the old excuse that you ran out… we all know that’s a lie. Stop being cheap. As a business owner, step up your game and show that you appreciate your patrons ordering from you.

ACCESSIBILITY: Street level entrance and tight floor space inside. No visible bathrooms. STAFF: Staff are very friendly. FOOD: We had a tea, espresso, and a cookie. The cookie was baked on site and very good. The tea was good. The espresso was light, very subtle cherry notes, and a slight bitterness, a decent espresso.

Ok we went back today for coffee and carrot cake….. The coffee and carrot cake are NOT to be missed! Small wonder they sell out of cake….
