This space is Wonderful! The atmosphere is very fun. I loved my croissant and green tea chai latte that I ordered so much that I went back the very next day. The green chai was a very fun spin on a traditional chai latte. There were gluten free and lactose free options available. They went out of there way to offer gift cards to the hardworking nurses and healthcare workers in the community who were feeling their energy drain during the heavy days of the pandemic. So thoughtful!

We were recommended to buy the specialty donuts here from a friend. On a trip out of town we decided to order ahead and picked then up. When we picked them up we peeked in the box. There was one missing. So we went back in to get it. The staff apologized and gave us the missing donut and and extra one. The donuts were large and decorated very well. The quality of was evident. We found them a bit dry. Now mind you we didn't eat them until we got home 5 hours later. I recommend you eat them asap. The one thing I can't help comment on is the price. WOW! Expensive. Call me cheap but $52 for a dozen donuts is a bit much. Don't ask your kids and relatives for what they want before checking the prices.

A must go in vernon. They make a fantastic macchiato (traditional style). It is fun to go on different days of the week and try the daily pastry. Doughnut day is the town favourite and has line ups (they are sexy pastries). But strudel day is the best. Good prices if you're buying bags of good coffee, and lots of paraphernalia at good prices as well (aeropress/chemex...). Always nice art on the walls, tried to buy a few pieces (a photo and a painting) but they were both already sold

Nice place for a good espresso and some REALLY tasty treats. The girl working the day we were there was super friendly. We all had a good chat. This also happens to be the train station my Grandma stopped at when she immigrated to Canada! Now it's a funky little coffee shop and bakery.

I sought this little cafe out on my brother’s recommendation. Worth it. The croissants were excellent, but it was the doughnut that stole the show. I had a cup of Guatemalan that was roasted to perfection and brewed right: really hit the spot. My son had a ham and cheese panini with peach chutney that made all of us swoon. Only let down was the sweet scone that was not bad… just didn’t live up to the other pastries behind the glass. Customer service was prompt and courteous. I will definitely be swinging in to this cafe every trip through Vernon.

Fantastic people it seems tiny but it opens up as you walk down the old hallway, family friendly for sure and guess what they make their own baked goods in house. You can get a foofyfoofy latte or a cup o Joe, to stay in or sit out on the wee patio they have. Prices are reasonable but it's not other coffee houses a real experience and historical venue stop by and grab a cup

They are now able to sell alcohol to take home. Whatever they have you can buy a six pack or bottle of wine etc. Pastries and coffee are very good. Price is up there but you get what you pay for.

Genuinely confused. After reading all of these reviews, I was fairly confident in visiting this place - good food, good coffee, and solid wifi so I can some work done? Nice count me! I'm sad to say, none of the above was offered in my experience. I purchased an over-priced black coffee which was not of the quality I was expecting. Somehow overly burnt, overly bitter, but watery coffee. Which hurts a bit because I'm one of those black coffee drinkers, I like it just how it is when it's made right. My sandwich was dry, and the fillings almost non-existent. I just paid $8 for a fancy bun. The wifi was frustrating. First coffee shop I've been too where I have to go through a 5 minute sign up process with Telus to connect, and even then, it was so spotty and continually dropped that I resorted to tethering to my phone to work. I'm giving a star just for the employees who were working - they at least seemed cheerful. Unfortunately, I did try any of the baked goods - I was already dissuaded by the above mentions to venture any further.

Stopped in before Christmas on Friday morning for “Doughnut Friday”. Lineup was out the door however it moved quickly. No place to sit inside as it is small and was full, so did takeout. Many varieties to choose from, decision was difficult as they all looked delicious. Chose chocolate brownie, gingerbread and cranberry matcha. The doughnut itself was light and fluffy (not too sweet), its the toppings that add the sweetness and flavour. All three were very tasty. As this was my first visit I would have liked the prices visible for the doughnuts. Was unsure of the cost so hesitant to buy more. Still unsure as to the exact cost of a doughnut. (Close to $4.00 each I think). The pricing board is very large and just lists their drinks etc. Also had a regular coffee which was very good and reasonably priced. Only disappointment was that they crammed 3 beautifully decorated doughnuts into a box and they got smushed.

The baked goods are nothing short of amazing. Everything is made fresh daily in small batches and you can tell how much they care about the product they produce. Any time we're passing through Vernon we make a point of scheduling a stop here. I'll be totally honest though, I've considered driving there from kelowna more than once. It's that good.

I have only been here on Friday's - doughnut day! And there is always a line-up but the staff are friendly and proficient and the line moves quickly. The doughnuts are phenomenal, can't find anything else in the Okanagan that even compares. Sure, they cost a bit more, but these are big, gourmet, delicious doughnuts (so if you want cheap mediocre doughnuts go to Timmies haha). And so far they have knocked the specialty coffees that I've had there out of the park as well. Highly recommend.

Coffee was good. Unfortunately staff was not pleasant. Order taker was unwelcoming and seemed put off having a job. Also, pastry descriptions were not clearly written. Apparently, having to explain what sweet treats the cafe was selling was another irritant for the order taker. The coffee baristo, on the other hand, was super friendly to everyone which was a vast contrast to the front line staff. The baristo was a savior to what started out as a very miserable experience.

If you’re looking for delicious, fresh and unique pastries, Ratio is definitely the place to check out. Each day of the week Ratio offers a different type of featured pastry, all of which are worth trying. If you’ve heard hype about their donut Friday’s, it’s worth all the rage. The flavours that they offer are so interesting and fun, it’s hard for me to choose a favourite because they are truly all fantastic. Ratio is a great place to stop in while wandering downtown for a cup of coffee and some chill time. The building is huge, and offers a lot of seating, with a pretty outdoor patio, which is my favourite spot on a warm, sunny day. If you’re looking to try something a little more thoughtful than just your regular cup of coffee than I recommend visiting Ratio.

Loved this spot. The renewed use of an old train station is fantastic. The atmosphere inside was great and it was nice that there was more seating further back. They even had some kids toys for parents looking to sit and enjoy coffee. As far as coffee is concerned we had lattes that were quite good. Loved the fact that pour over and even a siphon was available as an option along with your espresso choices. I can give a full 5 star review only because I didn’t try the snack items. I would imagine they are good considering they were cleaned out by the time we came in (1pm). The staff was very friendly. There are products available for brewing coffee as well as fresh beans for purchase from Drumroaster coffee.

Very cute little cafe, with friendly staff. The coffee was delicious! I'd definitely come back for it. The donuts, on the other hand, were a different story. I ordered 7 different donuts to try, but sadly I wasn't impressed by any of them. They were average at best. I wouldn't recommend the donuts, but I would definitely recommend their coffee.

This was our first stop at Ratio and it won't be the last! We enjoyed hot chocolates and mocha after skiing, along with a sticky bun, chocolate chip cookie, and gluten free oatmeal raisin cookie. I haven't had a cookie in ages so the GF option was a welcome delicious treat. Service was quick and friendly and the cafe itself is cozy and charming. I loved the local art on the walls, and had we been there years ago when my kids were younger the toy area in the back would have been a welcome place to hang out.

I wish there was more stars to give. I had the London Fog and it was hands down the best I have had in my life. Not too sweet just right. There was a line out the door but was surprised how quickly we were served. Friendy staff and warm inviting place. They do need a bigger place because it is amazing and popular. It's okay, but not what I expected. Very little selection, staff engaged in conversation with another customer and among themselves whilst giving me my order, high prices, not exceptional pastries. Pain au chocolat tasty but I craved a microwave or something to warm it up into because it was rather dry. The cookies, the chocolate chip one somewhat burnt, the trail mix one we haven't tasted yet. Ah, the box tore up right away (I had to show the little guy what I bought) and I couldn't find any napkins or wait long enough for the conversation to stop, to ask staff where those may be.

Insanely busy, line up out the door 30 minutes wait kind of busy, not sure it’s totally worth it. I had an americano and it tasted like hot water with a hint of coffee flavour, and a gluten free donut that wasn’t very good, the donut part wasn’t sweet and was very dense. Granted, GF donuts are tricky to get right but I’ve had much better.

Obviously popular, so I get I'm in the minority... but wow is this place overpriced. Six small and average tasting doughnuts for $23?!? And I really think the mystery pricing sucks. They are doughnuts... so if you're going to charge four times the typical price, don't you think you should post it somewhere? I didn't find out the ridiculous price until I'm at the till. I assumed she made a mistake, because there's no way half a dozen doughnuts costs $23, right? RIGHT??!! LOL. Whatever. I won't be back. If they were amazing, sure... but I can't honestly say the quality is any better than Tim Hortons. The size is the same or even smaller (the ghastly prices fritter is half the size of Tim's) and the flavor is... ok. Yes they have some weird creations, but weird by itself isn't worth the premium. One of the doughnuts I got was literally identical to one found at any place (yeast doughnut with basic frosting and sprinkles) and tasted about the same... but with a $3.50 price tag. Yeesh

I ordered a sandwich yesterday with brie cheese and apple in it, to go. The place was very clean and I was in and out fast. Great location! Sandwich was a bit bland, like it needed maybe more onions? They threw it in the toaster oven for me, but it was barely warmed on the outside. Sandwich was almost $10. I really want to like this place, but I keep having less-than-wow experiences here. The sandwich reminded me of a meal I had at the Wild Oak Cafe in Armstrong, but the Wild Oak wowed me with the melty-perfect cheese, pop of flavor, and crisp bread.

I have good memories of the amazing donuts so took a friend there today and had such an awful experience, wont be going back. My friend and I entered he was the only person waiting to order and so he stood there for 7 minutes at the counter. The male server was facing my friend and for all that time he did not say hello nor will be with you shortly. This very arrogant young man who had the swagger of a rock had an air of importance not required for this job. The other sever was busy doing dishes and so she was not at fault. Only after I asked my friend if her ordered yet did they bother to pay any attention to us. Each and every customer is important to your business and being polite and acknowledging your waiting customer is basic. The owners need to have secret shoppers visit.

The donut Friday thing is...meh. the toppings are unique and tasty but the actual donut is too dense and has the texture of bread. They kind of taste like day old donuts with fresh icing :( outside of that this place is great! Cool vibe and awesome staff.

This is my go to spot, great food and staff. Littler curious why I have to pay for a decaf Americano when I order my decaf coffee. I get there isn't enough people to brew decaf coffee, however I feel it's unfair that this is my fault and I then have to pay the Americano price. Other places (not in vernon) will charger me the coffee price. Otherwise awesome.

We are newer to Vernon and this has become one of our favorite places to visit. The atmosphere is cozy and the area opens up to another section with more seating. The food is good and made fresh daily.

I like to visit and enjoy a pastry or have my daughter play in the kids area down the hall. I find their drinks and sweets are very hit or miss - sometimes amazing (doughnuts and salted caramel brownie) and sometimes a tad disappointing (London fog and some sweet treats I’ve tried). Overall a nice warm atmosphere.

Best coffee shop in town. I highly recommend it. Have an espresso and compare with other places to fully realize the difference. I'm not even much of a coffee drinker but I will have an occasional one at Ratio. The doughnuts are amazing. Chewy, stretchy, deliciousness. Fridays are their big doughnut day but my favorite are the daily sugar donuts.

I can't believe this place is in Vernon. The espresso and pastries are comparable to some of the best shops I've visited in Portland, Seattle and San Francisco. Even better: Andrew and his team have created a true "second place." It's not unusual for a bunch of locals to sit around the coffee bar and swap stories. It's Vernon's version of Cheers and I love it.

Lovely coffee shop in downtown vernon right by the railway which gives a cool setting that is uniquely Okanagan. They're "thing" is to bake a different type of dessert/pastry for each day of the week (Friday is donut day by the way). They have a great patio with lots of seating but not a lot of space inside. Also, it is recommended to show up before 9 if you want a seat or are in a hurry because it gets busy fast and lineups out the door are common.

Fabulous coffee shop in Vernon with fun decor, friendly staff, and probably some of the best donuts I've had. The americanos we ordered were delicious and the gluten-free donut had the perfect density and the icing was not overly sweet. Great patio space too. Highly recommend this spot!

Ratio's staff are friendly and extremely talented bakers. Every Friday they have a beautiful selection of donuts, which includes vegan options. I really enjoy their unique flavors of tea. Their prices are on the higher side, but ingredients are often locally sourced and high quality. Great atmosphere on the outdoor patio.
